I understand nothing about congress or the impeachment process so I texted my discord chat asking them to please fucking explain whatever is happening with 45
In under an hour I had the impeachment process and legal proceeding, all possible outcomes of 45’s second impeachment, and what makes this case unique perfectly explained and translated from legalese to normal words.
In a discord chat full of tumblr gays, by a person with “Twink” in their screenname, while someone else was sending nudes on a different channel.

I cannot believe I just watched a congressman use his allotted time on the Senate floor to complain about cancel culture.

I hope to God that the Gonald Lump decides to defend himself in the impeachment trial. He HAS to show up, he can’t just sit this one out, he will be subpoenaed and he can be held in contempt if he refuses to comply. This man is pathologically incapable of telling the truth, so he is all but guaranteed to perjure himself; every last one of his lawyers have jumped ship because he won’t listen to them. They want to argue that trying a former president is unconstitutional (it’s not), but he insists that they instead argue that the election was stolen. That’s his preferred defense; he wants to ADMIT that he incited the violence, but it’s totally okay because he actually won in November so he was just trying to right some wrongs.
Like, holy shit, he can’t possibly be that stupid, can he? Does he legitimately believe it? Oh, all this time I thought it was an act! Republicans are going to acquit him either way, but if he lies under oath then he’s on the hook for perjury, a federal crime! He’s a private citizen now, he has no criminal immunity, the justice department and the judicial branch won’t protect him anymore. This is the bed he’s made, and he’s finally gonna have to sleep in it. On top of all this, the Southern District of New York has been building a case against him for years, and he was counting on winning re-election to run out the clock; the statute of limitations for his crimes on the campaign trail run out this year or next, but if he were still in office then he couldn’t be charged. Now that he’s out, he’s culpable. A bunch of his co-conspirators went to jail for those campaign crimes, and he pardoned a bunch of them, so they’ve waived their 5th amendment rights and can be compelled to testify; they either rat him out or commit perjury and go right back to jail. The justice system has him dead to fuckin rights! He’s in a shit snare, and the only way out is through. He might be able to dodge some charges, but not all of them, he’s not nearly competent enough.
2021 is gonna be a beautiful shit show, and perhaps the most satisfying part of all of this is that Merrick Garland will have jurisdiction over him and his entire crime family. Garland, who would be a Supreme Court justice were it not for Bitch McMoscow and the Gonad Lump; this is poetic justice. This is the sort of shit they’ll make an academy award nominated biopic about in ten or twenty years. The noose is tightening, and methinks a certain ex-president may be taking an extended vacation to one of his properties in Russia this summer. Will daddy Putin protect him, or will he extradite his ass because he already fulfilled his purpose of destabilizing the United States?
This man has never faced a single consequence in his life. It’s about fucking time.

“This is hard to watch,” Castro said, “but I think it’s important that we understand what the Capitol police were facing, how severely they were outnumbered, while our commander in chief, whose job it was to protect them, was just watching, doing nothing for hours, refusing to send help.”
Summarizing that portion of his presentation, Castro issued a blunt conclusion: “On January 6, President Trump left everyone in this Capitol for dead.”

Just heard one of Tr*mps lawyers say that an impeachment trial will only serve to make “tens of thousands of Americans” feel left out of the nation’s agenda and could you fucking imagine? Feeling left out?? Of the interests of this nation??? And those in power???? Or being a minority????? Or LQBTQUIA?????? Or disabled??????? Or transient or houseless????????
Absolutely not, me either.
