SONG: One Of The Girls by The Weeknd, Jennie, Lily Rose-Depp
A click, and the pleasantly smooth sensual melody begins to fill the entirety of the recording room. Mark hums, nodding his head in the flow of the beat, elbow resting on the armchair as his forefinger ghosts over his lips. His fingers taps against the table, mind running as he searches for parts to improve.
Not even finished listening to the verse that he just worked on, Mark's hand hovers above the keyboard once again, quickly adjusting and adding what he thought the song lacks.
This needs a few more layers, Mark thinks. So he slides his chair to the other side of the table where the mic settles and closes his eyes, there he harmonizes with his own voice, layering a mellow adlib underneath the sharp yet slow rap.
Just as Mark opens his eyes, the door opens without much of a knock, and turning around, he meets a vixen clad in red silk robe, a mesh black tights with black suspenders attached to what Mark likes to think is a sinful lace panties in the same color.
There's no way in saying Mark doesn't enjoy the view that he is blessed with. His eyes rakes down your figure, coming back up to meet your lustful gaze. The corner of your lips curves just a little before you take steps towards the man. His legs spread to have you in between as though instinctively, hands itching so much that he couldn't help but to grab your waist, squeezing just enough to feel your body heat seep through the silk fabric.
Water droplets fall onto Mark's skin, it is just then that he notices the glass of whiskey you're holding. ''Drinking alcohol late at night, huh. Tell me, darling,'' Mark leans back. ''What got you prancing around the company with just a thin piece of clothing to cover those nipples?''
You sip once more, holding Mark's stare for a few seconds before licking the liquor that sits on top of your lips' skin. ''Was doing a photoshoot for my new album– decided to pay my favorite producer a visit before changing. I just had a hunch he'd like to see me in this.''
Your words elicit a scoffy chuckle from Mark. He stands up. ''Favorite producer, hmm?'' His palm travels down and stops when it reaches your ass cheek, gripping lightly.
While Mark's other arm circles your waist, he noses your neck, closing his eyes as Mark allows himself to get drunk on your scent, kissing the pathway your throat creates. Pulling you closer, Mark nips your skin occasionally whilst he makes way to your jaw, soon connecting his lips with yours.
Mark swiftly delves his tongue in your mouth, sucking as you offer him your own. If words are to be chosen to describe the kiss, it'll be slow, sensual, and sultry. Just like the song that plays from the speakers surrounding the two of you.
Abruptly yet effortlessly, Mark spins your position and gives you a little push, pinning you down now that you're sitting on the chair. One of his legs separates your thighs apart, welcoming himself between you. Distracted from the way Mark delivers pleasure just from having his mouth on yours alone, you didn't notice how Mark steals the glass out of your hand and places it behind you, out of danger but is enough for him to reach it as well.
Suddenly, a freezing palm comes in contact with the back of your neck. Flinching, you whimper at the cold, tugging Mark's shirt. Instead of taking his hand off, he pulls away from the kiss, not without licking the string of saliva first. In contrast to the icy palm, a warm one rubs your side soothingly, it then nudges your robe away, revealing your nipples.
A sigh leaves your lips, fingers brushing through Mark's locks as you feed him more of your hard buds. Mark growls in satisfaction. Catching it between his teeth, pulling lightly, tweaking it with his fingers and sucking before licking the faint pain away. He does the same to the twin, spitting on it only to lick it away after biting it a few more.
''God, I fucking love your nipples. So fucking sexy. So pretty– always ready for me whenever. If I want to suck on them the whole day, you'll let me, right baby?''
''Yes– Haah– yes, lick them all you want. Ahh..''
Thinking you'll finally get his cock as Mark hums lowly, pecking each of your nipples, you fiddle with his belt. But Mark pins you to the chair again, kissing your forehead as he stretches his arm behind you.
''It's getting hot in here, darling. Would you mind a little raise in the temperature?'' Your eyes fall on the cubes of ice that melts inside the glass, you look up at Mark. One look and you know this is a way to ask consent. To ask you if you're down to try a new thing. Without hesitation, you nod.
Mark tilts his head to the side. ''Words, love. I need your words.''
''Yes, please..''
He brushes strands of hair off your face.
''Good girl.''
Gulping the last sips of whiskey, Mark gives your lips one last swipe of tongue, letting you taste the alcohol. Pressing the glass on your inner thigh, shivers shoot up your spine. You bite your lower lip to endure the cold, toes curling as Mark spreads the icy droplets along your stomach up to your neck. Your eyes are closed, anticipating Mark's next move when you jerk in your seat, hand enclosing around Mark's wrist as you whimper, opening your eyes to see him tracing the line between your pussy cheeks with a cube.
''Fuck, really..? Not wearing a fucking underwear while a bunch of people watches you pose in front of the camera? What if they saw this, baby? Imagine the fucking headlines,'' Mark chuckles. ''A rising pop idol foregoes wearing panties during a photoshoot because they are desperate for someone to fuck them. How would your fans react to their lovely artist acting like a whore, my love? Would they like it as much as I do?''
Mark nudges your legs open, and as you do, the ice dips and lands exactly where your pulsating clit awaits. ''Fuck..'' You sigh.
''Yeah?''
Getting on his knees, Mark situates his face in front of your soaked core. He plays with the cube a little more until it melts completely and eases the cold with the warmth of his mouth. Mark laps and sucks, slurping your juices as he buries himself in your pussy, grunting on how your walls clench around his pink muscle.
Soon, his fingers join his tongue. Curling and prodding at your spot that sends your back arching, hands gripping the armchairs as you let your lewd moans bounce off the walls of the recording room. When Mark deems you're stretched enough, he pulls away and tugs his pants down enough to release his cock, tip in angry red shade.
Resting one leg on the armchair while pulling the other over his shoulder, Mark slides home. Groaning as your hot walls impressively engulfs his girthy cock like no other. Once he's deep and snug, Mark picks up a maddening pace, not giving you time to adjust nor get used to his size.
''A-ah! Ah ah ah! Mark– slow down… You're so big–... s-so big–!'' Your face scrunches up; eyebrows meeting, eyes shut tight, mouth open.
''I am, darling. And you love it.''
Your arms underneath Mark's, landing on his back. As Mark angles his hips and jabs at your spot, your eyes cross and your nails instinctively try to draw red lines along Mark's back but his shirt prevents it from happening. So instead, you opt for grabbing a handful of the fabric, tugging them as your hips unconsciously bucks to meet Mark's thrust.
The chair creates a continuous squeaking sound, continuously thudding as it bumps against the soundboard. Mark reaches to hold the back of the chair, spreading your wider. He renders his thrusts deep and hard, an action that slacks your jaw which allows drools to roll out past your lips and to your chin. Mark leans forward, spitting on your willing mouth before licking the strings of saliva and connecting your lips together. It cannot even be considered as a kiss because it is all panting and moaning against each other's mouth.
''Right there! I-I'm gonna cum.. fuck, Mark, I'm gonna cum! Shit– Mark! Ugh fuuuuck..'' Together with the drawn out curse is your eyes rolling to the back of your eyes, walls clamping down on Mark's cock as a white cream forms a ring around him.
The sight of you coming while moaning his name, Mark pistons his hips violently as he lets lust take over his mind and body. His thrusts becomes erratic and vigorous, and with an encouragement of words from you, Mark fills you up to the brim, his legs embarrasingly shaking as though he was the one who got fucked and not the one who s.
As Mark pulls out, he curses under his breath at the sight of his cum spilling out of your pussy. If that isn't the hottest fucking thing. You know what makes this hottest shit even hotter? Scooping his cum, feeding it to you while he fishes out a yet to melt ice and kisses the shit out of you, sharing the whole serve of the mixture of his cum and yours.

interview: DXMON AIMS TO LEAVE A LASTING IMPRESSION WITH THEIR UNIQUENESS
Tumblr media
K-Pop boy group DXMON (pronounced DAAI-MON) makes their official debut with 1st mini-album, [HYPERSPACE] on January 17th. Earlier on January 1st, ahead of their debut, they released one of the title tracks for the album, “Burn Up,” which set the bar for the members’ confidence and ambitions toward their new beginning as a group. DXMON is a word derived from the Greek word ‘Daimon’, and it is a name that embodies the will to proactively decide one’s destiny and achieve it.
DXMON’s members; MINJAE, SEITA, HEE, TK, REX, and JO shared more about their debut album in the recent interviews with global media outlets.
Q: Your title track is called "Spark", what was a moment that you felt a spark recently?
REX: For me, it was during the debut showcase. As we presented our stage for the first time to our fans, I felt that spark within me. It was a moment of pure joy.
MINJAE: I'm getting that spark even at this moment. It is very exciting for me to see all of you here with such interest in our group, and I promise to consistently showcase developed and improved versions of ourselves as we move forward.
Q: All the tracks in your debut album is unique and different in their own ways. Which track sound did you like the most? Is there a new sound that you want to try for your next release?
REX: I find the percussion sounds in the track "Burn Up" to be incredibly impressive. Every time I listen to this song, it gives me goosebumps, and I believe the performance of this track is powerful as well.
SEITA: All the members love punk or rock genres so they are something that we want to try in the future.
Q: "Burn Up" and "Spark" have different sounds. Individually, which song connects with you the most?
REX: I choose "Burn Up." It has all the elements that I want to show, including a powerful performance and a great melody.
MINJAE: I love the track, "Spark" because it is easy on the ears yet can become exciting and calm at the right moments. I love that aspect of this song.
TK: I choose "Spark" because I like songs that are easy to listen to. The melody of "Spark" carries an R&B vibe, yet the strong and intense beat is a unique blend that I haven't encountered before. Additionally, the song's story about beginning a journey resonates with me, and I find it very appealing.
HEE: I choose the track "N.W.B." The song is exclusively composed of rap verses which are delivered like whispers. Despite the consistent whispering tone, each rap verse has a distinct rhythm and flow, making it easy for listeners to engage with its unique rhythm.
JO: I resonate with the song "Burn Up" because of its intense and powerful beat, which complements our bold style and concept. The hairstyle also complements the vibe well. I believe it is a great song and perfectly fitting as the title track of this album.
SEITA: I also choose "Burn Up" because it effectively captures our passion and energy, showcasing the essence of DXMON exceptionally well.
Q: How does your style tie into your music and your aesthetic?
MINJAE: There are two title tracks in this album. The first one, "Spark," talks about our days as trainees, and "Burn Up" narrates our story after debut, symbolizing our determination to burn brightly.
Q: What do you think is your specialty that makes DXMON different from other groups?
MINJAE: I would choose our visuals and our overall styles, including our fashion and hairstyles, as well as our unique and powerful music.
Q: Members HEE and JO had very striking haircuts for debut. What initiated the bold styling decisions?
JO: The idea for the hairstyle was initially proposed by the CEO during the concept meeting. Upon seeing the sample photo, I was immediately drawn to its uniqueness. At first, I questioned whether it would truly suit me, but upon trying the hairstyle and looking in the mirror, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hairstyle looked great on me. Then I experimented with various poses, gestures, and even rapped with this hairstyle and I became certain that it was a perfect fit for me.
Q: Among all the songs from your debut album, are there any songs or special points that listeners should pay attention to?
MINJAE: TK has a part in the third verse of the song "N.W.B" where he sings as if he is whispering. It's a unique element that I've never heard before, so I recommend using headphones when listening to this specific section of the song.
Listen to DXMON 'N.W.B' here!
youtube
Q: How do you deal with the responsibility of debuting so young?
JO: Being young, I believe we have the confidence to navigate through challenges. We are committed to giving our best, with the dream to become superb artists as time progresses and we gain more experience.
Q: What are some goals that you have and want to achieve as a group?
MINJAE: It is our goal to get our song onto the Billboard charts. REX previously said he had a goal he wants to achieve.
REX: Also, it is our goal to perform at Coachella.
MINJAE: Yes, that's true. We have two goals that we want to achieve as a group.
Q: Where do you see your group a year from now?
TK: I think DXMON a year from now will retain its essence but will have matured further, showcasing enhanced skills and a more relaxed stage presence during performances.
Thank you SSQ Entertainment and Helix Publicity for the invitation.

WIP Wednesday Quitter
Inspired by @yoongiofmine to post a bit of my Hoseok x reader WIP. Hope you all like it, any and all feed back is appreciated!
Burning. That was the best way to describe how you are feeling right now. Painful, exhilarating burning. You had salty sweat dripping into your eyes, your legs and arms felt like they would give out at any moment, and you couldn’t get air into your lungs fast enough. All your unnies were convinced that you stopped breathing every time you performed and maybe today you had proven them right.
Evaluations. The day of the month every trainee dreads. A random day in a given month chosen by the managers, choreographers, and vocal coaches. They never gave more than a 24 hour warning in HYBE saying they didn’t want to know what you could prepare but what you could do right there and then. You hated this system when you first joined but had grown used to it. Even found yourself looking forward to the day where all your hard work would be critiqued to death telling you exactly what to fix and work on.
You were last to go today, all the other trainees having left for the dorms to shower and get a good meal in their systems. You waited in the hallway for hours, the number of trainees having grown since last month. New and old, everyone was nervous because it was rumored that the CEO was here for the first time after his military enlistment. Wanted to see how we had improved in his absence was the rumor going around, but you knew better. He wanted to see how his staff had held up the training routines during his service.
Now here you were, head bowed as you caught your breath not daring to make eye contact with anyone in the room until you were spoken to. This would be your 97th evaluation since you first came to the company on your 16th birthday. One evaluation a month since you turned sixteen, no months off, no breaks. Nothing but hard work and determination flowing through your body for over eight years.
You knew better than to go for water or a towel before they had dismissed you. Walking in you knew this time was different. The CEO and his two closest friends sat by him at the middle of the long table of “judges”. You had sang, rapped, and danced your heart out for the last ten minutes and not a single word had been spoken between the three of them, until now.
You remembered just how all three had worked their ways up in the military ranks based on their cold expressionless faces as you performed. Looking them in the eyes was an absolute no go, wait until you are addressed directly or risk humiliation in front of all your mentors. Hushed voices they discussed you and your talents, if you strained hard enough you could hear key words when they raised their tone just a little. “24…8 years…background…never failed…trainees fear…no I…” You didn’t know which words belonged to who, just stood there the sound of your breathing filling the empty space in the room.
“Song y/n, correct?”
“Yes,” You kept your head down looking at your dirty trainers, you should’ve let Minyoung clean them for you. You tried to steady your breathing while fighting the urge to throw up. Never had you been this nervous about evaluations in all your years here at HYBE but standing here waiting for the feedback from the CEO you could swear you had left your body behind.
“You’ve been with us for eight years correct?” You recognized the voice of the CEO and raised your head to look at him. Steeled brown eyes met yours from behind glasses as you stared at Kim Namjoon. “You were sixteen when you first came to us, and now you are,” He pauses to look at your file again. “Twenty-four, happy belated birthday.
“Yes, thank you Namjoon-ssi.” You bowed formally, still not raising your eyes to meet his.
“That’s almost as long as it's been a company…” The blonde at Namjoon’s right spoke this time. Agust D, or Min Yoongi, better known as the legend of HYBE. Solo rapper and head producer of the company. You expected to work with him when you made your debut. “Impressive you’ve lasted here this long.”
“Not just lasted sir,” Your choreographer piped up this time. “She’s been at the top of evaluations since she was eighteen.”
You fought the urge to smile. Binnie unnie had always had a soft spot for you since you had attended her dance classes when you were a child. If it wasn’t for her you might not have made it as far as you have.
“Is that so?” You swallowed, feeling everyone’s eyes scan over you. “You joined when we were still BigHit right?”
You nodded, not trusting your voice at this moment. You knew they had your file in front of them so you didn’t understand why they were asking you so many questions.
“y/n you’ve survived 96 evaluations and you’re still here, working harder than everyone else, any company could take you right now and debut you but you choose HYBE every month. Why?” Your stomach dropped, taking a moment to collect your thoughts. Your confidence lies in performance, you hadn’t prepared to be asked questions today.
“This is all I’ve ever wanted. I dropped out of highschool knowing I could make it if I worked hard enough and if I haven’t made it yet it just means I haven’t been putting in enough into it.” You stared down the CEO as you spoke, voice never faltering, trying your best to come across as confident. “I joined BigHit because you inspired me. Your music had meaning and messages in it and I wanted to be a part of that. Being a soloist who couldn’t make it you rigged the game. You created a company when no one else took you and here you are, owner and CEO of one of the biggest agencies in Korea. I’m here because I refuse to lose a game I know I can win.”
You remembered the first time you read about Kim Namjoon, the underground rapper who wanted to make waves in the idol industry. He was a small fish in a big pond but he had created a tsunami. You looked up to him in every way and couldn’t believe the day you were accepted as a trainee at BigHit. You had seen so many people come and go you had become steeled to the proceedings but had never given up, you couldn’t.
CEO Namjoon nodded looking back at your file. “You are 24 now, not the oldest trainee but the one who has been here the longest right? I see your potential and I know you’re gonna make it. You’re close, you just need that last little push kid.”
You bowed deeply in thanks. Staring at the floor you tried not to let the emotions rule over you. Hearing that from your biggest idol brought you back to your sixteen year old self. “Thank you so much, that means so much to me.”
A silence filled the space as you stood up straight again. Your eyes met with the person to the left of Namjoon, Jung Hoseok. Your breath got caught in your throat realizing he had been staring at you so intensely. Of everything you needed to work on it was dance, and he was the HYBE god of dance and had been staring you down the whole time you performed. You couldn’t tear your eyes away from him as the other judges began discussing with each other again. His eyes burning into yours, making your whole body feel on fire once again.
After minutes, hours? You had no clue, Namjoon spoke up once again. “Well that’s all I have for you, are there any final questions from our other evaluators?”
“I have one,” so he does speak, if you hadn’t heard his music you would’ve thought he was mute after this interaction. “Eight years is a long time, with a lot of hardship. You’ve seen friends come and go, diets and exercise regimens that would kill anyone let alone a teenager. You never left but had every reason to, why?”
You had never felt so small as you stared back at J-Hope. After a moment, mustering all your courage, you finally answered.
Thank you for reading!

Fanders Sides Season 3: The Asides
Hello dears,
after the introductory post about FSS3 and before starting with the actual episodes, I wanted to write a short post about the Asides too.
As you all know, recently Mr. Sanders moved a few episodes here and there: random stuff became part of the Asides, while ATHD, FWSA and WTIT became main series episodes. Why did it take him so long to realize they were following the plot more than other videos? No idea.
But even though Mr. Sanders seems to find it a bit difficult to distinguish between main series episodes and Asides, the fandom on the other hand seems to know pretty well what the difference is and your suggestions in the survey have been AMAZING.
This is why I wanted to write this post: to expand on some of your best ideas. But also to offer you this post as a starting point. If you have even more ideas/thoughts/concepts for other possible Asides episodes, feel free to add them with a message or a reblog. We can go on forever with great suggestions.
Once again, I applied the same three rules I talked about in the introductory post:
to write something in the real of human/editing possibilities
it should be an idea that can be developed in a 20-minute-long video

The promised rap battle
During Am I ORIGINAL?, Logan had the best rap battle of all time and in the end, he said Patton would be the next one he would “fight”.
So this Aside will be the match Logan wanted. He will crush Patton with great verses, amazing flow and sick burns.
Patton, on the other hand, won’t take any offense at all and reply with puns. Just. So. Many. Puns.
Will Logan still win? Will the puns be enough to defeat him? Will he start using the power of puns too? Will this battle turn into a huge battle of puns? Will Patton have fun regardless of the result?
You decide on the answers to all of these questions, except for the last one. Because we all know Patton would enjoy some quality time with Logan.
_______________________________
The very normal vlog
This episode is a very normal vlog in which Thomas talks about very normal stuff happening in his life and the Core Sides comments/offers suggestions as always.
So Logan says Thomas should've remembered that doing X thing wasn't great. Thomas replies that it was an infinitesimal mistake.
Patton compliments Thomas with a pun. Thomas replies with another pun.
Roman tells Thomas they should strive for greater things. Thomas says that they should start by improving their acting skills.
Virgil reminds Thomas that trying new things can be challenging and he can fail. Thomas says that it won't be as bad as Virgil's make-up.
Virgil is caught off guard by this, but before he can comment, Thomas ends the episode and sends them all away. Only after the Sides disappeared, he said goodbye to his viewers and turned off the camera, only then he reveal himself as Janus.
Janus stretches, snaps his fingers and says he's still the best liar of all time, before leaving.
The episode ends with Thomas, who is still sleeping in his bed. He suddenly jolts up: "Oh my gosh", he yells, "I need to do a video!”
Bam, start intro.

The troll
An April fools episode titled “Am I the ASSHOLE???” and the whole video is over dramatic and makes fun of tropes, also is poorly shot.
This is the original post of @dillydallydove from which this person took the idea. And it's hilarious, I love it.
_______________________________
The most serious argument ever
A prequel episode set when Virgil was still one of the Dark Sides and centered on an argument they have.
You can choose whatever topic you want, but it should be the stupidest argument ever. And the dark boys should all act as if it’s the most important topic in the world, nothing is more important than this topic and nothing is more important than proving the others are ALL wrong.
Follows shenanigans, Janus pretending to mediate only to say something and add more fuel to the chaos, Virgil trying to prove his point with extra convoluted thoughts, Remus throwing stuff around only to add more chaos, Orange sending death threats.
Bonus points if they manage to set something on fire without matches.
_______________________________
Grocery shopping
Thomas going grocery shopping with his Sides.
Logan is in charge: he wants to put just healthy food in the cart.
Patton begs Logan for at least one single pack of cookies ("Thomas needs them, as a treat!").
Roman checks for the most aesthetically pleasing packages and the ones with the most promises, no matter how far-fetched they are ("Logan, this shampoo will make Thomas' hair fluent and shiny! And this cereal mix will make him taller! We must buy them!").
Virgil disappears for entire minutes, then comes back with a full emergency kit, a new alarm system, pepper spray and a blanket. When Logan asks him why, he replies that the safety stuff it's necessary, while the blanket is for him because it will help him stay calm, once Thomas starts handling this stuff.
Remus runs all over the grocery store, then comes back with different stuff: the first time with the biggest zucchini and carrots he can find, then with sticks and poles. Then, with all the different brands of condoms he can find. Then with lubricants. He says Thomas needs them and drops everything in the cart.
Janus pretends to help Logan, but also sneaks stuff behind other stuff: shorter boxes behind taller ones, chocolate chips under a bag of vegetables and so on. When Logan finds out, Janus picks a bottle of wine and puts it on the conveyor belt. Logan sighs and lets everything go.
Thomas, who went to the grocery store to buy one bag of apples, comes back home with a bag of carrots, a bag of zucchini, 2 boxes of cookies, 3 new shampoos, a pack of condoms, a new emergency kit, two cereal boxes, a blanket and a bottle of wine. And no apples.
_______________________________
The game night
The episode has the structure of a game show, in which every Side has to answer questions about the other Sides, in order to win an amazing prize.
Logan tries to use his intuition, but it doesn't always work.
Patton replies with kind, good, nice answers and everyone feels bad about telling him he's wrong, so he somehow wins.
Roman has no idea, so he drops the first thing that pops into his mind and fails miserably.
Virgil mumbles something, then says he doesn't know/it's stupid/he doesn't want to reply. Somehow, ends up second after Patton.
Janus straight out lies about everything and somehow he's right. But everyone refuses to acknowledge he's right.
Remus throws the most sexual ideas and argues about who has the longest dick. Somehow, he ends up being just one step above Roman. No one understands how, Roman first.
In the end, the amazing price was the last piece of pizza.
_______________________________
The "Sides' daily schedule" series
This can be a series of seven videos, in which every Side takes his time to tell us what they do during a normal day of their life.
Logan shows a perfectly organized schedule, down to the second. His routine includes cleaning, organizing, planning, working, writing, reading and a relaxing hobby: chemical reactions.
Remus sneaks in to be his lab assistant. The video ends up with them blowing up something.
Patton's schedule is more relaxed, made of sunshine, happiness, hours spent remembering the past, sad hours, more sad hours - but then Patton gets better, he gets out of his room and meets his friends. And plans a nice time for all of them.
The evening ends with Logan emptying a whole fire extinguisher on the barbecue, because somehow Patton set it on fire.
Roman starts his day by being his most marvelous self, removes his night-time beauty mask, makes his daycare routine, strikes poses, talks about how great he is, goes around slaying monsters and dueling... all in the morning. Then, he sits and the desk and works non-stop for 20 hours straight. Then, he gets up still with his marvelous self, says he has not been “very productive” and goes on a trip to slay more monsters and flirt with beautiful men in distress.
In the end, Remus has to stop him from working even more, by hitting him on the head. He throws Roman on his bed, throws the sheets on him but, before leaving, he never forgets to carefully put on Roman his night-time beauty mask.
Remus' video alternates between him starting to say something, to huge censored parts. Around half of the video, he loudly protests, because he's censored, even when he doesn't say anything sexual. His day includes pissing out Roman, messing with Logan's chemical stuff, obediently sitting and listening to Janus reading him a book, throwing stuff in a volcano, jumping in a river with piranha and 20 different sexual positions all censored.
Virgil's video shows him doing something peacefully, only to suddenly stop, look directly at the viewers and ask them questions. Like: he's peacefully knitting, then he stops, lifts his head and asks: did you turn the stove off? Is it still off? Or is it on? Is your house burning down? Will it burn down before you go to bed? Will you die in your bed?
The questions stop, to show us more of Virgil’s day and his different ways to relax. Some are heavy blankets and knitting, others are push-ups, running like a madman for hours, sleeping like a log, watching horror movies and doing make-up while listening to emo/rock music.
Janus' schedule is weird. The scene before he's walking, then it abruptly cuts to him knitting, then to him halfway into an explanation of a specific part of a book, to him explaining what he will eat. It looks like a series of scenes randomly put together.
Only in the end, we will find out he did it on purpose, because he has no intention of telling what he actually does. So he tells the viewers to have fun with what they have (which is basically nothing), while putting on a beauty mask, a glass of wine in his hand and relaxes into a bathtub.
_______________________________
The "Dressing like each other" series
This can easily end up in another series of videos, in which every Side raids the closet of one Side and they all dress up like him.
Logan's closet should include tons of shirts and lab coats, so they would all dress up like teachers or lab technicians. Roman hates it, Remus loves to dress as a mad scientist.
Patton's closet should include bright colors, funny hats, animal prints everywhere. Either they would dress up as animal lovers or as stereotypical fathers from the 50s. Janus searches everywhere for something that's not bright-colored. In the end, he fights Virgil for the only two gray clothes.
Roman's closet should include rich, embroidered dresses with beautiful details on every piece of fabric. They would end up dressed as members of the court or royalty, with matching, fabulous makeup. Virgil complains and calls it "extra and preppy", only to end up being fabulous.
Virgil's closet should include black, emo, laced dresses for everyone. Also, guyliner and leather/laced matching accessories. Roman complains and calls it "dark and gloomy", only to end up being fabulous.
Janus' closet should include black and yellow dresses, fancy hats, polished shoes and fancy accessories like golden pocket watches, handkerchiefs with embroidered initials and so on. Logan appreciates the formality, Roman the nice details. Virgil calls it "even more extra" and ends up being quite fabulous. (Janus refuses to acknowledge it)
Remus' closet should include the most insane, batshit stuff, possibly put together in the weirdest way. They could end up dressed entirely in fishnet clothes, rainbow clothes, silly costumes or the most baroque, heavy costume ever known to mankind. Also, a shit ton of accessories, wigs, makeup and everything you can think of. Somehow, Janus is the only one who manages to find a coordinated set.

New hypmic anime season and I'm BACK IN THE FUCKING BUILDING AGAIN (I feel like the Martha I'm coming home sweetie audio)
Thoughts on the 1st ep of Hypmic Rhyme Anima+. Spoilers beware
New plotline lets gooooooo I like that they're straying away from the drama tracks actually, Rhyme Anima is fundamentally a different experience from the core drama tracks which gives new material for both new and old fans OP is an actual banger, Ramuda's verse is the best fight me all you want but you know i'm right Nemu!! uh spoiler chara for anyone new to the anime I guess? Like they spoil her right at the introduction and iirc they didn't really build off her mystery in the first season. Makes her impact here a bit weaker but I'm willing to let it slide since some might not catch it (Post Editing Astro here: I haven't rewatched Rhyme Anima since it finished airing and uh. Nemu definitely was a plot point there lol they dropped it after ep 11 but she was there!) Jyushi my son I love you so much you idiot I love the little stingers for each team that they did for each team, its so cute and gives so much personality The visuals have definitely improved, a big step above the last season in terms of animation i don't see an improvement with story writing though… Pacing is still all over the place and very squished/fast paced makes sense since the cast has grown by a quarter since last season but still makes me sad that there isn't much time given to each character individually I forgot how much I love the localization of Doppomine Okay so Pink hair and Green hair in the flashback are most definitely the two in the white cloaks. Theres just no subtly with this series lmaoooo Nice that they were able to incorporate everyone somehow but too many people means that too many parts to handle I'm getting deja vu, this exact same thing happened last season…. Oh. Its the same guy. Makes sense lmfao Listen bud I have minimal rap experience but that rap was just embarrassing wow. No rhyme or flow, there was only straight passion which i mean props I guess but you suck ass Look at me being so smart and predicting all of these ahead of time without looking at any materials Did Rio just contact Jyuto with his hypmic???? Samatoki have I ever said that I love your for being a bullheaded idiot? bc I do. you're so silly Damn the typography has gotten even better, its just a lot more smooth and the animation too especially during Jiro's part is just so stylish The animation has improved a lot I'm glad it got a little more love compared to last season My guess is that maybe someone from the six divisions will fall under the anger thingy that's going around, something like the stage show. My biggest guess is that they might re-incite the Samatoki and Ichiro conflict again but I hope not. Another guess is that there will be old MCD or Naughty Busters beef which seems more plausible given that this is Sasara and Kuko's anime debut but I guess we'll wait and see THE OUTFITS!!! THE STUPID OUTFITS I LOVE THEM the art style of the ED is super pop punk and has a strong sense of style which i love. its simple but stands out really well which i love Very jjk but more toned down. Feels a bit like a cleaned up croquis drawings the smear frames is just so stylish and good, very simple and a bit messy and sells the gesture drawing kind of feel of the ED Ramuda's parrot costume i love you Those hand signs just make the first letter of each word which is really fun. Not proper JSL though I guess beggars can't be choosers esp for a series like this
Overall, a really strong start. It shows how it built off the first season and where it improved and while some things (like the horrid pacing) never change, at the end of the day its still a fun and delightful watch
If anyone wanted to read my thoughts on the first season, they're all archived here

 「 ❀ 」  ━━ ˗ˏˋWORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY 002 ! ( 1-on-1 ; © )
"Hi, hi, hi!" Taeha enters the small conference room with a bit of a bounce in her step. It had been quite a while since she'd last had a sit down with Kwon Soyi, and she all but greets the woman with a giddy hug before nodding her head and flopping into a seat across from her. "Where should we start?!"
The conversation flows smoothly with Taeha hopping from topic to topic as she's known to do. Finally, after a few rambles about Osaka and plucking chicken feathers out of her hair, the acting coach is able to ask - what do you think are your strengths right now?
"My strengths?" Taeha parrots, chin pinched between her thumb and forefinger. "I think that this year I've really been able to improve on stage! I was watching a few clips from my first big performance as a trainee compared to an LGC Girls' stage, and I think that I've really grown overall as a performer," she nods affirmatively, folding her hands in her lap. "I came here a pretty confident dancer but with everything else I just... Sort of... I was very unsure of myself? And I think that showed whenever I performed. My face just always looked like I knew I was about to make a mistake... But now I think that I have a lot more fun? I feel a lot more... like the stage is home? So, performance definitely! I also feel a lot more confident about my rapping ability! Before LGC Girls Japan, I hadn't really thought I could ever see myself as a rapper... But now, I think that I really hold my own. Even my older brother who used to rap was impressed by how far I've come - and, I beat him in a rap battle over Chuseok!" She gives the coach a playful grin, flipping a lock of her over her shoulder. "And of course, Japanese! I'm really proud of how far I've come in such a short time as well. Being on tour and getting to interact with all the fans in Japan really helped sharpen my language skills, and of course there's always more to learn, but for now I think I've made a lot of good progress and can chat pretty okay!"
What are three skills that you would like to work on in the next few months?
"Oh! If I got to choose? I would really, really, really love to spend more time on dancing. It's always been one of my strengths, and although I've been doing a lot of choreography while being part of LGC Girls, I would really like to devote serious time to trying out new styles of dance, and maybe... possibly choreographing more of my own? Then, of course, singing. Over the past few months I've felt very good about my vocals, but I know that I'm not as strong of a vocalist as some of the other trainees. I've been planning to meet more with the vocal coaches for one-on-one sessions, and maybe even trying to sing some ballad-type songs? I'd like to become very versatile in that way! And then... maybe some acting? I haven't done too many acting workshops outside of those we were assigned for the Project Origin musical... but I do think a lot of the skills that I learned in those have helped me become a much better performer now, so... maybe more of those?"
If given a chance, what types of gigs would you be interested in participating?
"Oh, oh, oh! Drama acting and variety, for sure!" she beams, clasping her hands underneath her chin. "I loved being on Charms Japan and Invisible Youth, and I would love, love, love to try out more variety. I think that I've done pretty well so far so I'd like to do different kinds of shows too! Maybe... The kind of variety shows that have a lot of puzzles to solve or, or, or more traveling type shows? Like Charms but in other locations around Korea? Or even internationally, like... Hawaii!" she grins, well knowing that a show like that would be nothing more than a ploy to take a quick vacation trip home. "And for acting... I think I would really like to star in a drama one day! I've been watching them since I was a kid and although I don't have much acting experience, I do think it would be super fun to try!"
During your time here in legacy, what are some of the lessons that you’ve learned about yourself?
"Lessons?" The question gives Taeha pause, gaze wandering up to the ceiling. "I think... I think - I think that I've learned its okay to go at your own pace... To be where you are, when you are, in this moment!" She points to her lap, knees bouncing up and down once for emphasis. "Sometimes, I can get really trapped in a... bubble of worries? But lately, I have found that I really enjoy... the journey of all of this? No matter where the road is taking me, and all the ups and downs and bumps and blips on the way - I really am happy where I am, with everything that I'm learning and... I'm always hoping to learn and grow, but I still feel like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. Here and now." She tilts her head to one side with pursed lips. She wonders if she should add the most important lesson she's learned thus far - 'never try to ship coaches.' ...Nah.

during the returning episode of BEYOND INFINITE, twenty-nine contestants train in a workshop on rap skills before having all of them once again face off with rap performances in front of a new panel of judges who will be guiding the contestants through the rest of the competition. don’t forget to track your favorite competitors on your ENCORE app!
Tumblr media
after three weeks, the contestants of BEYOND INFINITE return to the screen stronger than ever. MCs Sohee and Jackson inform viewers that, during the brief hiatus, the contestants have been given the time to practice and train their skills at ISE, and viewers can expect them to perform even better than before.
the contestants have spent the past week honing their rap skills, being trained by two professional ISE rappers; B♡YFRIENDZs Kai and SUG★Rs Ari. the contestants practiced their rhythm and flow, as well as their ability to write their own rap to a beat. they practice their rhythm alongside Ari, who teaches them her iconic verse in HIP by SUG★R. unlike last week, Haneul seems to excel at this challenge, earning her praise from Ari during their first day of the workshop. along with her, Lee Yoonah and Hwang Chaewon are named as two of Ari's favorite contestants. two contestants who have a significantly harder time are Lim Suhwa and Nam Soobin, who both admit that rapping is their weakest skill.
on the third day of the workshop, the contestants are introduced to idol Kai, who will guide them in writing their own rap to the beat of HMU by B♡YFRIENDZ. some of the contestants admit to being very starstruck by seeing Kai, and Ji Sooyoung even admits that he is her bias. during the writing workshop, Ahn Yoori shows off strong writing skills. Park Jiwoo also shows that she is a good writer, with Kai commenting that she has a great rhyming ability. by the end of the week, it’s become clear to both Kai and Ari that the three best rappers of the group are Haneul, Jiwoo, and Yoonah.
Tumblr media
When the time comes for the participants to demonstrate their skills by performing an original rap written to the beat of 'Sweet Lies' by Mythos. behind the scenes, the nerves are once again palpable. Suhwa especially seems extremely nervous, while Haneul tries to assist her in warming up for the performance.
it is time to meet the new panel of ISE judges as MC Jackson introduces us to CEO Sun Jihoon, creative director Jenny Lee, and returning jury member and former ISE idol Sang Minji, as well as this week’s guest judge Kai. all jury members briefly address the audience and thank them for watching, before it is time for the contestants to perform their raps.
all girls take their turn performing their original rap verse. the first contestant to perform is Ahn Yoori, who, while clearly not being a skilled rapper, shows off her solid song-writing skills that Eunwoo compliments her on. she’s followed by the performances of Yijun, Emiyo, and Sori, who all perform perfectly fine. the contestants that stood out in a positive light were Yoonah and Haneul, who both perform exceptionally well, as well as showing off real skill when it comes to writing a rap. after performances from Aeri, Jiwoo, and Eunchae, it is Suhwa’s turn to perform. while she starts off relatively strong, she suddenly stumbles over her words, and has a hard time picking the performances back up.
after a few more performances it is time for the full critiques from the judges. it becomes clear that new CEO Jihoon has no problem expressing his opinion in a kind but professional manner, making clear to all of the contestants where he feels they can still improve their skills. after this, the voting for the week is closed, and it is shown that Yoonah is the top ranked contestant of the week, with Haruka still close behind her. Suhwa is the lowest ranked competitor this week, and is the contestant who will be leaving the show this week.

Suhwa thanks the jury, viewers, and the other contestants who helped her this week in her final goodbye. MC Jackson once more thanks the jury and the viewers for their presence, and reminds the viewers at home that they can participate in the voting through their ENCORE app, as well as keep an eye on the rankings throughout the weeks.
What did the viewers think of this episode? be sure to leave your thoughts here, and don’t forget to tune in again next week to see which of the contestants remain in the running!

WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY 001:
“thank you for having me”, minjun offered, as soon as he closed the door behind him. his voice was surprisingly calm due to the weight of what was about to happen in the next moments. it could define his future and he just hoped he’d do well.
he should be nervous and that would be his normal reaction, considering that was a concrete chance for him to shine and be acknowledged by his coaches, but that didn’t come - he was more anxious than nervous as he took the steps toward the coach, sitting on a chair, having only a table separating them.
minjun offered them another polite bow and waited for them to start talking and the questions didn’t take long to come.
what do you think are your strengths right now?
he didn’t have to give it much thought to answer that - truthfully they were the only options because they were obvious. “my dancing would come in the first place. there’s always room for improvement, but i do believe with the help of my coaches i’m becoming more confident in accomplishing whatever routine we’re supposed to learn. my singing would come second and i strongly believe i fell for my singing voice once i realized what i should do to improve and i can say i’m confident that since my first video, so much has changed. and last but not least, none of those two mentioned would be as important as performing. if i ever had any doubt about becoming an idol, after performing during my time here, especially during the last family con, i think i don’t have it anymore. i like to think i’m good at keeping the audience entertained but also being part of the show as an important piece of a whole scenario.”
what are three skills that you would like to work on starting 2024?
“rapping, i wanna get in touch with rhymes and the flow, i believe the coaches and some of my fellow trainees could help me improve and along with that i need to work more on my music composition, so i can write my own verses and give you a perspective of how i see everything around me. i don’t want just to repeat other people’s words, i want to write my own. along with these, i feel i should practice my english, i should put more effort into learning and improving since i aim to be part of a global group, this way it gets less burdensome to others and i can communicate better with the fans.”
if given a chance, what types of gigs would you be interested in participating?
minjun sounded mostly excited to answer that and with a smile, he promptly did it, “variety and hosting a podcast! i have this idea you know and i don’t know if i can talk about this informally, but i would love to join one of those culinary shows, i like cooking and i think if there’s any cooking show i would love to join and show my talents. as for podcasts, i’m always interested in knowing people, and perhaps help them, either by giving advice and yes, i’m aware i’m still young but you know we shouldn’t be taken for granted, some of us do have good things to say and i would love to be part of a podcast where we could give young people advice or just interview them, and learn more about whatever they do.”
during your time here in legacy, what are some of the lessons that you've learned about yourself?
minjun let out a sigh and it was not at all something bad. he’s thinking about his journey until these days and with his answer he hoped he could show his sincerity. “i learned we’re never alone and some might think that this means we’re always being watched and yes we are but it’s not a bad thing. i learned that i’m not alone and it’s okay to lean on other people and ask them for help. but it’s not just a move that we make, i learned i grew more open to welcoming my fellow trainees that ask for help and understood that i can also be someone people use as an inspiration. but above all, i learned to be more confident and that harsh words aren’t always an attempt to bring you down, but a way to make you grow a tough skin, so you will be someone stronger, focused, and complete.”

𝖂𝖔𝖗𝖐𝖘𝖍𝖔𝖕 𝕾𝖔𝖑𝖔.
✗ A sitdown with Maylin about her trainee process.
sitting down with one of her coaches, maylin's body language came across as calm. she was more than happy to discuss her progress and where she should go from here in terms of the new year starting. this was the time for her to express herself more freely, in front of authority, that is.
What do you think are your strengths right now?
she went into quickly thinking, head slightly tilted before she answered. "my dancing has improved a lot with my time here, which goes along with my focusing on the performance aspects, which was something I lacked for a long time. i have been working on my facial expressions so they can read well with my movements." she spoke confidently, quite proud of herself for the improvements she has made in the last few months. there were hiccups down the road where she was humbled by her introducers, but it was needed in order for her to grow. "choreography is another strength of mine, seeing as i want to one day help create routines in a group if i am to debut."
2. What are three skills that you would like to work on starting 2024?
it took everything. in her not. to express what she wanted to improve on in the other question, so this was considered perfect timing. "my singing performance. i want to have a steady breathing practice and be able to hold a note while dancing." she chuckled, running a hand through dark hair. "that also includes rapping, i believe i have it in me. there's just understanding my flow and style that i want to improve on because it seems a lot more interesting than singing." maylin admitted with a shrug, after all, this was her meeting and not someone else's. "i want to become fluent in Japanese next year, hold my conversation inn confidence."
3. If given a chance, what types of gigs would you be interested in participating?
"this is kind of tough… i never really thought about it because. I am not skilled enough yet to achieve the things i want." she spoke honestly, glancing down at her black sweater. "maybe some modeling gigs? i have been told that my visuals are strong enough to become a model, but i still need to improve in my classes. it's always the little things that still need a lot of practice and modeling is one of them for me." idols still have modeling endorsements. she has been so focused on improving in practical skills, she neglected the others that could land her more fun things. "imagine me getting a cool, spooky endorsement during Halloween season. now that would make me happy."
4. During your time here in legacy, what are some of the lessons that you've learned about yourself?
"that it is okay to make mistakes and not be so perfect all the time. and that i should stop comparing myself to other idols, everything will come when it's my time. i have always been so hard on myself when it comes to the things i want, even if that means making decisions based on the now and not thinking in the long run. that includes my physical and mental health." she sighed. "i need to take better care of myself, give myself some slack now and then. i will reach my goals in due time, i keep telling myself that."

Can you review Would You by BT21?! lol So hybe does know cover coded lyrics videos, why don't they make some for bts? Also, the lyrics is kinda fun? The bilingual (tri including Jp ver) word play is on point imo. lol I was wondering if you could talk about what makes one's rap sound good. As someone who's not familiar, I can only say that how the rap line/kendrick/minaj/cardi/megan raps 'sound' good when they rap. Whereas bt21's rap reminds me of jin's angry fast talk (I'm not down +
Ask 2: + playing his ability to 'rap' at all, I think if he ever puts his mind to it, jin can do wonders). It's a feeling I get when I listen to some jpop/kpop's 'rap verses'. They don't sound nice to my ears; I just get this unease as soon as I hear them, but Idk why. For example, jk's no more dream verse sometimes trigger this unease but not his rise of bangtan verse. Another one, I really really reaaaally wanted to like this one, youtu be/n74JSjCZy48 but... (2)+
Ask 3: + I just can't bop to it. I was surprised that I didn't get that unease for jimin's tony montana. This is something I've never really felt with the rap line, including their earlier stuff. I was wondering if I'm making sense to you and if you could verbalize what I'm feeling. Sorry, this was supposed to be a light-hearted ask, but this has been in the back on my mind forever. And I'm curious if it's only me. I usually learn something new here, so would love to hear your perspective (3)

Hi Anon,
Your link. (And lol what in the acid trip was this? Thanks for sending that, Anon)
Let's talk about rap music first before getting into the joy that is BT21. I could explain this in text but as I've said before, I'm not much of a writer, so Anon please see below for required watching material, before continuing with the rest of this post:

(It's only 12-ish minutes long and I strongly encourage you to watch it. Vox does a better job than I could explaining the brilliance of flow in rap)
I've said before that at its core, rap is about authenticity, freedom of expression, and flow. Flow is the hardest skill to develop because it's the easiest to fuck up. It's the most distinct feature of any verse, and the easiest thing a lay listener to rap can detect.
Good flow has character, often reflected in the tone and timbre of voice delivering the verse. Think of how Yoongi does that weird pitched thing to his voice when he's mocking someone on a track (eg Cypher Pt 3). In flow the smallest show of depth can be felt, and the more depth there is, the better the song sounds. Jungkook was not always good at adding depth to his tonal delivery (in addition to the rhyming and framing skills mentioned in the video), and it's clear he improved from his skills at No More Dream by the time you heard him on Rise of Bangtan, Anon.
Your taste in flow is another thing you're describing in your ask. I personally think of taste as tolerance on a spectrum. Think of it like how different people treat the quality of bitterness in food or drink. Some people cannot tolerate bitterness in any form, saying explicitly that bitterness is the primary reason they choose not to drink coffee or dry stout, for example. Other people have a stronger tolerance of bitterness. A sub-set of people even desire bitter taste because some kinds of bitterness are pleasurable for them.
My point is, for even the people skilled in flow, your taste/tolerance for certain types is obviously what determines what/who you like.
*
Now about BT21. I finally got around to answering your ask after Christmas, surrounded by the 'little people' in my family and girl did they terrorize me with this song.
I'd heard HYBE had released something BT21-related but it was only because of your ask I actually looked it up to listen to. The little people were also in the living room and held me hostage, asking me to replay it over and over again. They brought out little costumes and teddy bears, and tried to make me make them dance. All while blasting Would You on my expensive surround sound equipment. And so, no Anon, I will not be reviewing Would You by BT21.

RAPS + CRAFTS #14: SKECH185
Tumblr media
1. Introduce yourself. Past projects? Current projects?
Hey, I’m Willie McIntyre Jr. but on stage I am SKECH185. I grew up largely in Chicago, in neighborhoods on its South Side, but I am now a New York resident for the last 9 years. I am a part of a 6-man crew called Tomorrow Kings, a duo called War Church, a duo with producer Jeff Markey and have worked with various labels (Galapagos4, Fieldwerk, ReServed, Backwoodz) over the last 18 years. My most recent project is entitled He Left Nothing For The Swim Back.
2. Where do you write? Do you have a routine time you write? Do you discipline yourself, or just let the words come when they will? Do you typically write on a daily basis?
A lot of my writing is done at coffee shops. Being at home is far too distracting because there is always something to clean or arrange, etc. I usually start my day by hitting the gym and then writing for a couple of hours. There is no guarantee that I will write a full verse or a verse that I love when I write, but I write daily as a matter of improving my techniques or experimenting with new ways to phrase things or deliver lines. I maintain a level of discipline with it in hopes of being able to steadily evolve my style.
3. What’s your medium—pen and paper, laptop, on your phone? Or do you compose a verse in your head and keep it there until it’s time to record?
I will write in my head and in my phone but all verses eventually make it on paper. It's the only way I can finalize and edit and it's the only way I’ll remember the cadence or timing of some bars.
4. Do you write in bars, or is it more disorganized than that?
I write in bar-looking structures but some lines are two bars that I will leave as one long line because it is a complete thought. I do a lot of scratching out and writing new pieces and notes in the margins too.
5. How long into writing a verse or a song do you know it’s not working out the way you had in mind? Do you trash the material forever, or do you keep the discarded material to be reworked later?
There is no real time I can think of. Sometimes you can just tell it's working. Sometimes you're trying to be aimlessly intelligent and miss the mark. Sometimes simple for effect is lazy. I will always perform surgery on a verse and pull out lines that work. I tend to write bar by bar so every bar can stand on its own as a thought. I rework material all of the time and I will mine from old verses if what I’m writing at that moment fits with older material.
6. Have you engaged with any other type of writing, whether presently or in the past? Fiction? Poetry? Playwriting? If so, how has that mode influenced your songwriting?
I’ve only done op-ed type of writing and, perhaps, poetry for school.
7. How much editing do you do after initially writing a verse/song? Do you labor over verses, working on them over a long period of time, or do you start and finish a piece in a quick burst?
I edit verses anywhere from 2 to 5 times and I do different types of edits (edits for flow, originality, accuracy, progress, and ambition).
8. Do you write to a beat, or do you adjust and tweak lyrics to fit a beat?
I usually write in silence. I will listen to a beat and memorize the pockets, tone and drum pattern then write in silence until I have an idea about how I want to structure the song.
9. What dictates the direction of your lyrics? Are you led by an idea or topic you have in mind beforehand? Is it stream-of-consciousness? Is what you come up with determined by the constraint of the rhymes?
The beat will often tell you to write to it. With that in mind I will also hear beats and I will recognize a verse or song that was written that fits it. I rarely keep a stream of consciousness rhyme but that will often be a jumping-off point. There aren’t too many constraints in my rhymes; my chorus and bridge structures depend on how much I can pull out of the beat based on how it services the rhyme approach or subject.
10. Do you like to experiment with different forms and rhyme schemes, or do you keep your bars free and flexible?
Every rhyme is an experiment and exercise of some sort. That is what keeps it fun for me.
11. What’s a verse you’re particularly proud of, one where you met the vision for what you desire to do with your lyrics?
The first verse on “High John The Conqueror Speaks” on my War Church album Gunship Diplomacy. It was one of the moments in which I felt like I actually contributed something new to hip-hop. It was something that only I could have done.
12. Can you pick a favorite bar of yours and describe the genesis of it?
“At a distance, even the greatest man is just an ant.”
While getting my degree, I had to take an art history class in which we spent a brief moment learning about painters who focused on painting scenes of the sublime. The idea of realizing nature and the universe is so much of a humbling experience that I had to throw it in a rhyme.
13. Do you feel strongly one way or another about punch-ins? Will you whittle a bar down in order to account for breath control, or are you comfortable punching-in so you don’t have to sacrifice any words?
None of that matters to me at all. As long as it sounds cool that is all that will be remembered.
14. What non-hiphop material do you turn to for inspiration? What non-music has influenced your work recently?
Groups like Protomartyr, Radiohead, Coltrane, Miles Davis, Moses Sumney, Animal Collective, Arms… A lot of post punk, a lot of comic books. Podcasts. Old Dick Gregory interviews. I have, as of late, been obsessed with watching interviews from the 60s and 70s because there is something to seeing a person speak about something when they don’t know when the next time they will speak is. There is gravity to it that I find important still.
15. Writers are often saddled with self-doubt. Do you struggle to like your own shit, or does it all sound dope to you?
My biggest fear is making something that people can find somewhere else. By the time it gets recorded, I’m confident in performing it in front of a full house based on the quality. I worry about making songs that sound similar the most.
16. Who’s a rapper you listen to with such a distinguishable style that you need to resist the urge to imitate them?
Teddy Faley and my brothers in Tomorrow Kings
17. Do you have an agenda as an artist? Are there overarching concerns you want to communicate to the listener?
I don’t have an agenda but I am very opinionated. I just want to illustrate what being human means to me and maybe start a couple fires along the way.

ALBUM REVIEW TIME 👹
Today we are reviewing one of my fave kpop group’s new album MAXIDENT by Stray Kids with the title track Case 143
Tumblr media
I just wanna say how I’m so proud of these dudes, they write and produce their own music and their skills get stronger with every release 🫶🏻 anyway on to the review
Case 143 - 7/10 - it’s definitely interesting. I was worried i wasn’t gonna like it all that much based on the snippet on tik tok but it’s much better within the context of the whole song. This song does what they set up in the previous release Maniac and improves upon it. Although the first section of the chorus is jarring, its a huge ear worm and im addicted to it. If Stray Kids were going to do a love song this is exactly how i expected them to do it 😭 (also give the music video a watch you won’t regret it, it’s quite funny, felix gets slapped by a cooked chicken 😀)
Chill - 8/10 - a song written and composed by our Hannie!! His songs are always so nice!! This is a cool jazzy style r&b song. It takes some similarities from lofi music too and some classic hip hop beats and overall its so good. Han’s solo written and composed songs have only improved since debut and i love it so much!!
Give me your TMI - 9/10 - This one is for all my living tombstone fans and fnaf fans!! The crunchy instrumental is everything and the drop into the chorus is so interesting. Also when Changbin starts the song with a strong rap that seems like complete nonsense, you know the songs gonna hit!! But yeah keeping up with hip hop sounds, the incorporate crunchy edm and alternative rock style sounds too and it just makes this song so funky I love it!!
SUPER BOARD - 6/10 - where do i start with this song… the intro itches my brain so hard. The “nada da shooom super board” gets stuck in your head so badly 😭 the song leans into a more rock style but instead of an electric guitar riff, you get these synth sounds and it adds that retro flare to the song. Although the repetition of nada da shoom super board can get a bit annoying and lessens the replay-ability of the song for me
3RACHA (Bangchan, Changbin, Han) - 5/10 - this is well and truly a Drill song. Like this is something straight out of the streets of south london. The raps of our producing unit are satisfying to my ears however this style of music just isn’t my personal taste and i don’t think i would listen to it often. Not a bad song tho ✨also ik chan is australian but im claiming changbin and han as honorary brits for this song
TASTE (Hyunjin, Felix, Lee Know) - 8.5/10 - when Hyunjin described this song as a cold version of red lights he wasn’t wrong. They need to keep this man in the studio his brain is amazing. 4th member of 3racha?? Perhaps. Whenever you put Danceracha (this unit) in the studio expect a hoe anthem honestly. I’m very proud of how Hyunjin and Felix’s vocals have improved. Lee Know really gets to use his more powerful vocals and that makes me so happy!! Also the drop in this song is insane. Listening to it isn’t enough i need it shot into my veins 😭
Can’t Stop (Seungmin, I.N) - 7/10 - my vocalracha 🫶🏻 this is a pop rock style song. They worked with one of day6’s producers for this track which you can tell!! But it suits them so much!! Seungmin and innie’s voices are so lovely the drums and guitars are so strong. You will absolutely catch me dancing about to this song 😭 however i will say that the mixing between the vocals and the instrumental feels a bit off. Idk how to explain it. Also they cut off Seungmin’s high note, gonna sob.
Circus (Korean version) - 8/10 - This was the title track for their lastest Japanese mini album so i’ve heard if before. Its a bop. But I will say i think the korean version flows a lot better between the english lines and the korean ones. Where as the Japanese version felt a little too sharp?? But yeah Circus would slay is every language if we’re honest
Anyways, Maxident Album of the year. Also is you ever wanna talk to me about Stray Kids pls send me an ask, I love these dudes so much 😭🫶🏻

<3 luv u!
NNOAISNDONASOIID NOO NOOO NOOOO why do the lyrics make sense 40% of the time? Why is the video like that??? I think all the songs will suffer from poorly placed Danganronpa references but ALSO HE IS DISSING HIM FOR BEING ILL??? AND NAGITO RETURNS WITH SLUR ACCUSATIONS?? THOSE ARENT EQUAL
Nagito you are a stoner too even if it's not shown, also the voice doesn't match him. HONK?? WHAT IS A HONK??? HUH??? This guy says mf a lot doesn't he? I am not far enough into Homestuck to understand all these references. Also it's hilarious to think that in preparation for this Nagito has read all of Homestuck. I wanna see a homestuck nagito sprite. actually i don't. please don't bring that into this world. FINGERS IN HIS ASS WAS THE ONLY GOOD REEFERENCE it's too bad it's sandwiched between mf and mf and mf and mf. GOAT DADDY??? GOAT DADDY?? ultimate bottom. bottom. sir. SIR.
Before starting there must be a fingers in his ass in here. Ok now I'm starting. THE SANS VOICE NOOOOOO. Everyone is making fun of Nagito for being gay. Sans isn't dissing him, he's just explaining Nagito's plot poorly. What does Kanye have to do with this? You better make a fingers in his ass joke. Nagito sounds like a nerd character from a cartoon. This rap battle was just simpsons vs nerd kid roleplaying as sans and nagito with no rap experience. Truly a disappointing performance.
Oh lordy I saw this in the reccomended before checking the list. They said her name out of tempo I'm already aggravated. What are Pants and ConnorEats? Are these references? YOUR LYRICS ARE SHITE BRITISH BOY. Stop saying her name it's not helping your horrible flow. His references don't hold any weight because I'm not an smp fan and then he comes out here calling her a camgirl. HAMILTON REFERENCE??? Her wordplay is better than his.
Another Dream one? Okay. WAIT THIS CHANNEL HAS LESS THAN 400 SUBS?? Let's see how it compares to the first one. Is the same guy doing both voices? NJASSNKJDkK DAMN THE CALLOUT. That line dropped flat Nagito I'm dissapointed. Oh they were 2 different guys doing the voices. Huh. This was mediocre.
The intro and the 200 subs really sets the scene. AHSKDJJBKKAHKASDDBKHDB UKELELE BACKING TRACK AND GUY JUST DOING HIS BEST. "You're just a twink with fucking yellow hair"- Monokuma. There are nagito napkins? HE JUST FINISHES WITH fuck you. MEGALO VANIA NOOOOO. this is just improv. This is literally improv. Or for Nagito's side it's improve because it really feels like when your classmates make a beat on the desk and another comes to rap to it freestyle. fuck you no fuck you no fuck you no fuck you <- basically. "I killed all your friends." "I again don't appreciate that." That's why in this Danganronpa, my hope is all that. Truly words to live by.
Sky, Elijah, Gabriel, how did you find this video? The person has 39 subscribers. This video has 229 views. How? MS paint opening scene. What accent are they doing for Luke?? He's BRITISH! lymploma. lymploma. your dead dog run over is the only time you're feeling "ruff". I have chills. Followed by I'm a Jedi from tattooine weilding a cool stick the only schtick you see is Hajime's which you'll never get. This is said by MS paint Luke skywalker. While you die like Chiaki. NAGITO DIES TOO??? HE IS DEAD??? HE LITERALLY DIES IN THE GAAME??? was star wars once considered neo nazi fodder?? WHERE DID THAT LINE COME FROM???? HELLO??? he keeps going "hah?" in between his lines. WHY WAS HAJIME THERE WITH A CENSOR BLOCK??? I applaud the creator for attempting to do fast lines. They just rhymed poo, goo, R2D2, fortune, and Beru.
Who is Lala, I guess I'll find out. Once again a small channel. I don't know where you keep finding them. Those lines were all flat and bad. Wait that's it?? Okay. Less than mediocre and not amusing.
This better be good with such an absurd catch. BJHJHBKHASBKJbSAKJ OKay I'll take it.
This was an exploration to the obscure corners of the internet. Do not try this at home. Thank you for your sacrifice of actually finding these.

I've been listening to J Cole and Kendricks discography the past few days to refresh my memory etc. Few thoughts.
Cole improved a lot the past few albums as a lyricist. Between Born Sinner and KOD, I think he was trying to figure out how to make 'commercial music', so the sing songy stuff and more flow focus over lyricism, which lost me as I was a fan before he got signed when I saw the Who Dat video, he had a fire and raw energy and upon getting signed its like he was trying to figure out how to fit in the industry and make hit music. And I just felt Drake and Big Sean was doing that so much better. Then Kendrick did the conscious thing so much better so Cole was trying to figure out where he fit in and he even acknowledged that in recent tracks and this latest Kendrick diss (which was cool). But he's found his stride as of recent years.
The Off Season is really good, he's really spittin on there. Might be his best work so far? Cole said TPAB was boring. I listen to that album occasionally but I went back to it this morning. J Cole has never had an album as layered and cohesive as this. As well produced, written and musical. I can see how it can be boring to people that only listen to hiphop and r&b, but if you have any depth to your musical taste, TPAB is in the top 50 hiphop albums ever. There's nothing to compare it to in modern rap. It changed the game in the same ways every bonafide classic did before it and no hiphop album has since. J Cole knows he's been playing catch up and admits that. If 'bars' is what you're looking for, then I'd say Cole has definitely been giving us solid bars more consistently! He's also given general hiphop fans more vibes as of late, Cole can fit in on playlists with a lot of contemporary rappers moreso than Kendrick rn. He's been busier for sure bc again he's playing catch up. I just don't think Cole is as good an overall hiphop artist and songwriter as Kendrick. I've yet to hear a song as well written and iconic as 'Alright', or 'Money Trees' or Backseat Freestyle' or 'Swimming Pools', or emotionally resonant as 'Sing About Me' 'The Heart Part 5' or Bitch Dont Kill My Vibe, or just flat out vibes or bangers like 'Loyalty', Element, DNA, etc. I really just think people have recency bias, Kendrick went quiet a bit and didn't make any radio singles on his last project and went away from the industry in silent protest and some people forgot how impactful he was and how much of a game changer his art is. But that's hip-hop and social media age for ya. It's looking like Kendrick is going to remind people this year.
