so I opened automatic subs in a youtube video and they actualy went: "Directly Sadistic Detective Agency" instead of the whole holistic nonsense and I think it's beautiful. these machines sure know what they're talking about.

Oh PS while I'm in a talkative mood; I'm legit so irritated with incorrect subtitles that I'm turning them off lately. 🙃🙃 I'm not deaf/HOH so I notice when there are wrong transcriptions, because apparently paying someone minimum wage to proofread the auto transcription is too expensive or something. I don't even want to say it's AI because AI would be able to tell when a wrong transcription doesn't make any sense... But MY GOD subtitles are wrong so often! I shouldn't be catching stuff like 3-5 times every episode! I just feel like I can't even trust them anymore. If there's something I really don't understand, I'll go back and see the subtitles then and just hope they're correct, but otherwise I've been keeping them off. (Btw this is when I watch TV alone in my room; if I'm with others in a living room then I would still keep them on I think. But would still be annoyed lol.)

How can this be okay? Deaf/HOH people won't know that something is transcribed wrong... And I've seen incorrect subtitles that literally make the sentence have the opposite meaning!! More than once! Not cool y'all!!!

If there's some petition I can sign or some kind of action going on to get streaming services to not essentially discriminate against deaf/HOH people, let me know...
