The Protect ICWA Campaign was established by four national Native organizations: the National Indian Child Welfare Association, the National Congress of American Indians, the Association on American Indian Affairs, and the Native American Rights Fund. Together, the Campaign works to serve and support Native children, youth, and families through upholding the Indian Child Welfare Act. The Campaign works to inform policy, legal, and communications strategies with the mission to uphold and protect ICWA.
The Indian Child Welfare Act (#ICWA) was put in place over 40 years ago to curb generations of harm resulting from the targeted assimilation of Native kids. On November 9th, it is being challenged in front of #SCOTUS, in Haaland v. Brackeen. @protecticwa invites families, leaders, singers, dancers, traditional practitioners, elders, knowledge keepers, youth, and allies to join them as they respectfully demonstrate support for ICWA at the Supreme Court on November 9th, the day of oral arguments for Haaland v. Brackeen. If opponents succeed in dismantling ICWA, they will have cleared the way for a larger attack on Native families, Native land, and tribal sovereignty. We all must stand up for ICWA.

World Literature Series: Custer Died for Your Sins: An Indian Manifesto
TITLE: Custer Died for Your Sins: An Indian Manifesto
AUTHOR: Vine Deloria, Jr.
DATE: 1969
COUNTRY, REGION, OR PEOPLE: Native American
TYPE: Non-fiction, essays
BACKGROUND: Author Vine Deloria, Jr. was a member of the Standing Rock Sioux, raised on a reservation and educated at reservation schools. He pursued theological studies and became increasingly involved in leadership of Native American activist causes.
The movement of the moment was the Red Power movement, a social movement focused on self-determination for Native Americans using unified confrontational action and civil disobedience. The term ‘Red Power’ is attributed to Deloria, and represents as sense of a pan-Native identity in the United States which grew in the 1960s and 1970s in response to the perception of a shared oppression.
Important groups in the Red Power movement like the National Congress of American Indians included Deloria, though other groups like the American Indian Movement (AIM) and the National Indian Youth Council (NIYC) often advocated a more militant approach than did others. Important events in the Red Power movement included the Occupation of Alcatraz (1969-1971), the Trail of Broken Treaties (1972), and the Occupation of Wounded Knee (1973).
SYNOPSIS: Custer Died for Your Sins is a series of eleven essays on modern issues facing the Native community. It’s notable for both being notably humorous in its writing style and highly critical of the US government, anthropology as a whole, and Christian missionary work.
It strongly argues that Native Americans have an important rule in the modern world but require more central leadership, a greater sense of unity between tribes, a rejection of imposed institutions, and greater self-determination over themselves and their resources.
Custer Died for Your Sins remains one of the most famous books by a Native author, and is at the top of reading lists for anyone interested in learning about indigenous issues.
THEMES: Power, Native American identity, laws, religion, government, humor, decolonization "This country was a lot better off when the Indians were running it."

Apartheid

Climate theory (of racism) - the colder the weather, the smarter the human (read: stamped from the beginning). The theory suggests that black people in Africa had no way of being intelligent
Simian traits - “ape like”, connected to black portrayal and Irish portrayal: JFK significance: he was Irish and catholic
White people made themselves feel racially secure by making themselves the ideal face shape and differentiating themselves from other races “you are not white!”
“Wide sargasso sea” jean rhys
Darwin, the father of modern evolution theory, was himself religious and was antagonised by the church for disproving the creationist theory. He was also not pleased with how his theories were being used to persecute other races and nationalities
What were the four different categories of people introduced under the Race classification laws?
White
Indian
Coloured
Black
What was the pencil test and what purpose did it serve?
If a pencil was placed in a students hair and fell, they were white. If it stayed, they were not white enough
What was the Sharpeville massacre and what was it caused by?1952
A protest forcing law enforcement to arrest them in the hopes that they would collapse the jailing system ended in thousands being arresting
March 21st 1960
Police opened fire on unarmed protest killing 70 and wounding 180
Passbook - document that black people had to carry at all times to be able to travel
The protest was to abolish passbooks
What is (somewhat) ironic about Nelson Mandela having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize?
He won the Nobel peace prize despite not being a pacifist
Imagine you educate someone online about systemic racism. Feel free to rant
Website is down
What factors increased the tensions between the blacks and the whites in the SA, and caused the later to want to control the former?
Black people were allowed to work in white spaces as many of the white population went to fight in ww2
Black people had to move into some white spaces such as living and work
ANC - African National Congress
4. He won the Nobel peace prize despite not being a pacifist

Brinks book was the first book to be banned by the south african government
How brink outwitted the censors
1979 printing: 3000 copies through a private publishing press in Johannesburg
Detected 2 weeks later - too late to confiscate the first printing, but the book was banned
Simultaneous publication in uk - a great success
Black June
Multi-day youth riots in Soweto started on the 26th June 1976
Brutally suppressed - armed personnel carriers, machine guns and helicopters against sticks and stones
SA internationally condemned for the massacre of the youth and the use of the violence at a mass scale
According to official statistics 175 killed (official citizens), 1140 wounded, 1300 arrested
A moral obligation
a dry white season illustrates the thesis made by brink in his article “after Soweto” 1976
following the massacre, the white citizens of SA shoulder a tremendous moral responsibility, which each should fulfill no matter the personal consequences.
Ben du Toit is an example of a person who took this moral obligation to the end.
Torture
Torturing political prisoners was frequent in SA in the 70s
The 1973 report of the UN Special Committee
Against Apartheid described over 100 cases of mistreatment of prisoners
Often used by Special Branch, specialised in detecting and fighting anti-government activity (methods near-identical with the Gestapo's)
According to the Western press, in 1977 alone at least 20 arrested people died in shady circumstances.
The author inspired some of the stories that happened to the protagonist from the experiences of others such as;

Founder of the “Black Consciousness” movement in South Africa
BCM was an anti-apartheid movement that was started in 1960. The movement started after the South African government outlawed the Pan-Africanist Congress and the African National Congress following the Sharpeville Massacre.
In his life, Biko was part of numerous anti apartheid movements. He began his efforts in protesting while at university (he first studied at st. Francis College and then at the University of Natal Medical School where he joined the multiracial National Union of South African Students).
His involvement lessened when he realised he found the NUSAS focused less on merging the rights of black and white people, but rather on viewing black people as the rightful majority. This was his reasoning for founding the SASO and becoming its president. The organisation was founded on the philosophy of black consciousness.
He drew censure in 1973 when SASO, its members and statements were restricted and banned. He reverted to operating covertly and, as a result was arrested and later died of died due to the torture he experienced while under arrest. He was found at the age of 31 outside a hospital naked, shackled and having experienced a brain haemorrhage.
Police denied responsibility for what happened to Biko, however, in 1997, five former officers admitted to being responsible for Biko’s death and applied for amnesty to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (a way of getting consequences for their wrongdoings and committed atrocities).

Everyone in Ladakh knows China has taken away our land: Rahul Gandhi
On Sunday last, Gandhi had claimed that Modi's statement that not an inch of the land in Ladakh has been taken over by China is not true.
Tumblr media
KARGIL: Raking up the border issue, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said every individual in Ladakh knows that China has “taken away our land” and claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion that not an inch of land was taken away was “absolutely false.”
The former Congress president’s remarks come after Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a conversation on Wednesday on the sidelines of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) summit in Johannesburg.
The conversation was not a structured bilateral meeting and was an informal one.
“I visited the whole of Ladakh on my motorcycle over the past week. Ladakh is a strategic place and when I was at Pangong lake, one thing was clear that China had taken over thousands of kilometers of Indian land. Unfortunately, the prime minister during an opposition meeting makes a statement that not an inch of our land was taken away which is ‘absolutely false’,” he said addressing a public meeting here on the last day of his nine-day tour of Ladakh.
“Every individual of Ladakh knows that China has taken away our land and the prime minister is not speaking the truth,” he alleged.
This is the second time during his Ladakh tour that the Congress leader has raked up the border issue with China.
On Sunday last, Gandhi had claimed that Modi’s statement that not an inch of the land in Ladakh has been taken over by China is not true.
India’s Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra on Thursday said Modi conveyed to Xi India’s concerns on the “unresolved” issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, underlining that maintenance of peace and tranquillity in border areas was essential for normalisation of India-China ties.
The ties between India and China came under severe strain following the eastern Ladakh border row that began in May, 2020.
The Indian and Chinese troops are locked in an over three-year confrontation in certain friction points in eastern Ladakh even as the two sides completed disengagement from several areas following extensive diplomatic and military talks.
During the public meeting, Gandhi also extending support to Leh-based Apex body and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), which are fighting for full statehood and safeguards under sixth schedule of the Constitution, and said his party would not allow the BJP to hand over the resource-rich land of the union territory to its corporate friend.
The former Congress president said he was briefed by the people about their demand for political representation, safeguards for land, culture and language, unemployment, non-functional Kargil airport and the problem of cell phone coverage.
“I heard you and want to convey that the Congress is standing with you in your struggle, whether linked to the demand for safeguards or employment issues. All the people know that Ladakh is rich in natural resources. The 21st century is of solar energy and Ladakh has no dearth of it,” he said.
“The BJP knows and understands that if you will be given (political) representation, they cannot snatch your land,” he said and alleged that the “BJP wants to take your land for (industrialist Gautam) Adani and we will not allow this to happen”.
The two powerful bodies are jointly campaigning to press for their four-point demands, including full statehood, safeguards under sixth schedule of the Constitution, creation of two separate parliamentary constituencies for Leh and Kargil districts, recruitment and job reservation for the youth of Ladakh.
Both the Apex body and KDA, which is a separate amalgam of socio-religious, political and youth organisations of Leh and Kargil districts, were formed after the Centre abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated it into Union territories of J-K and Ladakh.
The BJP Ladakh unit was also part of the Apex body but later distanced itself after it raised the demand for full statehood.
In an apparent reference to Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio broadcast, Gandhi said, “Some are speaking what is in their heart but I came here to know what is in your heart. One thing is clear that the ideology of Gandhi and Congress exists in the blood and DNA of the people of Ladakh.”
He said migrant labourers from different parts of the country, including Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, told him that they feel that Ladakh is their second home as locals are lending a helping hand whenever they come forward to seek their support.
Referring to his Bharat Jodo Yatra from September 7, 2022 to January 30, 2023, he said the only goal of the foot march was to stand up against the “hatred and violence being spread by BJP and RSS” in the country and spread the message of love and brotherhood.
“The yatra was not supposed to end in Srinagar but in Ladakh. The administration did not allow us to continue the march due to harsh winter and we accepted it. My visit is in continuation of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. I visited every nook and corner of the region on the motorcycle and heard the people,” he said.
He also thanked the people of Kargil for always standing with the country during crisis and war, and said, “All the people in the country, irrespective of their religion, language and culture are equal for us and we all want to live together with love and respect.”
Gandhi described Ladakh as the most beautiful region of the country and assured the people that he will raise both their local and central issues during the next Parliament session.
After his over 15-minute long address, Gandhi walked past the security cover to interact with the gathering amid chants of ‘Jodo Jodo Bharat Jodo’.
Besides the working president of Ladakh Congress Asgar Ali Karbalai, National Conference leader and co-chairman of KDA Qamar Ali Akhnoon, AICC in-charge of J-K and Ladakh Rajni Patel were present at the public rally.

Please read our first blog on Cow as the symbol of Hindu Rashtra.
Tumblr media
Mahatma Gandhi once stated, "One may judge a country's greatness and moral advancement by the way it treats its animals. For me, protecting cows entails more than just keeping them safe. It refers to the defence of everyone who is alive, weak, and defenceless throughout the planet. The entire subhuman world is symbolised by the cow.
The cow is a perfect example of the Hindu value of ahimsa, or non-harming, because of her submissive and accepting attitude. Additionally, the cow represents honour, sturdiness, perseverance, maternity, and unselfish service.
In the Hindu Mythology,The cow has also been linked to a number of gods, including Shiva (whose mount is the bull Nandi), Indra (who is closely linked to Kamadhenu, the cow that grants wishes), Krishna (who was a cowherd in his youth), and goddesses in general (because of the maternal attributes of many of them).
The Manu-smirti ("Tradition of Manu"), a religious and ethical law, forbids it in certain passages of the epic Mahabharata, while the milk cow was already described in the Rigveda as being "unslayable." The usage of the panchagavya, or the five byproducts of the cow—milk, curd, butter, pee, and dung—in rituals of healing, purification, and penance, reveals the level of reverence accorded to the animal.
To the Hindu, the cow symbolizes all other creatures. The cow is a symbol of the Earth, the nourisher, the ever-giving, undemanding provider. The cow represents life and the sustenance of life. The cow is so generous, taking nothing but water, grass and grain. It gives and gives and gives of its milk, as does the liberated soul give of his spiritual knowledge. The cow is so vital to life, the virtual sustainer of life, for many humans. The cow is a symbol of grace and abundance. Veneration of the cow instils in Hindus the virtues of gentleness, receptivity.
The cow represents all other creatures to Hindus. The cow is a representation of the Earth, the giver who never stops giving and making no demands. The cow stands for both life and its nutrition. The cow is incredibly kind, only taking water, grass, and grain. It continues to give and give and give of its milk, just as the freed soul continues to give and give of his spiritual wisdom. For many people, the cow serves as the literal sustainer of life. The cow represents beauty and abundance. Hindus are taught the virtues of gentleness and receptivity through the veneration of the cow.
India's politics has been based on this sensitive topic since many years. Specially,in the northern belt, every election is somewhere around this topic. The first law on cow slaughter was stated in Punjab by the Indian National Congress, but the Bhartiya Janta Party gave it the uttermost importance. In Gujrat, the punishment for cow slaughter is seven years or a lifetime imprisonment.
The young people of today are likewise interested in this subject. Cows have been one of the most popular topics in India since 2014 or so. Though they come from diverse political parties and beliefs, leaders like Uttar Pradesh's chief minister Yogi Adityanath, former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, and up legislator Raghuraj Pratap Singh all share the belief that the cow is the symbol of Hinduism. The young people of India ought to take the cow seriously and show it as much respect as they can. Although many people believe that consuming red meat (specifically beef) can nourish them, doctors from all over the world claim that it really causes a wide range of illnesses. My request is to make the cow the symbol of Hinduism and The Hindu Rashtra 'Bharat.'

The Text on the banner is edited, it was rather against Rahul Gandhi. Although the edges of the banner are blur proving the image is edited, we also used forensics of the image. The earlier one has been erased and the viral one was written. The left one is viral now and the right one was viral before (although we can not confirm it's authenticity though) You can notice the red arrows showing the blurred black color on the edges of the banner plate which shows the image is not real. Further we used ELA (Error Level Analysis) of Image Forensics which clearly proves the text is added later. The contrast of the text (white color) on the image proves it.

In recent years, the landscape of political campaigning in India has witnessed a significant transformation with the advent of advertising. Political parties like  Bharatiya Janata Party, Shivsena, Indian National Congress, etc.. across the spectrum are increasingly turning to digital platforms to reach out to voters, convey their messages, and mobilize support. In this blog post, we will explore how internet marketing is reshaping campaigns in India and the various ways in which it benefits political parties.
Targeted Outreach: One of the key advantages of advertising for political parties is the ability to target specific demographics and segments of the Indian population. Through tools like social media advertising and email marketing, parties can tailor their messages to resonate with different voter groups based on age, location, interests, and more. This targeted approach helps parties reach the right audience with the right message, increasing the effectiveness of their advertising campaign efforts.
Real-Time Engagement: advertising enables political parties to engage with voters in real-time, fostering two-way communication and dialogue. Platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram provide a direct channel for parties to interact with constituents, address their concerns, and respond to feedback promptly. This level of engagement helps build trust and credibility among voters, ultimately strengthening the party’s relationship with its supporters.
Data Analytics: internet marketing tools offer powerful analytics capabilities that allow political parties to track and measure the performance of their campaigns in real-time. By analyzing data on engagement rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and more, parties can gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of their messaging and strategies. This data-driven approach enables parties to make informed decisions, optimize their campaigns, and allocate resources efficiently for maximum impact.
Cost-Effective Campaigning: Compared to traditional forms of advertising such as TV ads or print media, advertising offers a more cost-effective way for political parties to reach a wider audience. With targeted advertising options and flexible budgeting, parties can run campaigns that suit their financial constraints while still achieving significant reach and impact. This cost-efficiency makes advertising an attractive option for parties looking to maximize their campaign resources.
Grassroots Mobilisation: digital marketing empowers political parties to mobilize grassroots support and organize volunteers more effectively. Platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram enable parties to create community groups, share updates, coordinate events, and rally supporters for various campaign activities. By leveraging online marketing tools for grassroots mobilization, parties can amplify their reach and influence at the local level, driving greater engagement and participation among voters.
In conclusion,  Indian politics is diverse & dynamic, digital marketing has emerged as a game-changer for political parties such as Bharatiya Janata Party, Shivsena, and Indian National Congress, etc. in India, offering a plethora of benefits that enhance their campaign efforts and outreach strategies. By leveraging the power of digital platforms and using online marketing techniques, political parties, for example, Bharatiya Janata Party, can engage with voters more effectively, target specific demographics, analyze campaign performance, optimize resources, and mobilize grassroots support with greater efficiency. As technology continues to evolve, the role of digital marketing in shaping political campaigns is only set to grow, revolutionizing the way parties connect with voters and drive electoral success. Digital marketing can also be a better career option for the future for those who want a skilled and better job.

Modi's leadership evolution: 1.0, 2.0, what could be the big move for Modi 3.0
Tumblr media
Nearly two decades of the Modi government, popularly termed as Modi 1.0 and Modi 2.0 is over and now comes the time for voter’s decision. Will Modi 3.0 arrive in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections? The answer lies in the choice of voters who chose BJP twice in the 2014 and 2019 elections. We are offering you a brief overview of how this tenure went and what were the prominent factors behind the remarkable victory. Also, we will have a close look at the factors that the BJP will be putting forward to continue this journey.
Factors that helped the Modi government win the 2014 general elections
BJP’s victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections gave them 272 seats out of 543 seats in the parliament. Being the first total majority win in the greatest democracy in nearly three decades, the triumph over the oldest political party, the Indian National Congress, was noteworthy. Here are the key factors behind the victory:
Hope for a better economy: Before 2014, India’s economic growth was hampered by the average percentage being 5 to 8. However, Modi’s Gujarat and its economy were on a progressive pace in comparison to other states. This hope of betterment gave the masses a good reason to cast their vote for the current government.
Fighting Corruption: Corruption is always a burning issue in the largest democracy. A lot of high-profile corruption cases came into the picture associated with the Congress-led coalition government before 2014. This was effectively used in Modi’s election campaign and he was portrayed as people’s ‘Watchman’ or ‘Chowkidar’.
Promises to the young voters: Youth in India have many hopes and aspirations about their future. Promises of education and job opportunities for sure attracted young voters hoping for betterment amid elections.

800 Congress Workers now under the BJP Flag
Tumblr media
With the elections so near, India has transformed into a fierce battlefield. And the armies are the various Indian Political Parties.
A big lot twist has come to happen in the chapter on Gujarat.
On the 1st of April, the world was celebrating April Fool's Day. And Poonamben Maadam, Jamnagar BJP candidate, was turning the tides for the Jamnagar elections.
Tumblr media
About 800 Congress party members and workers broke away from the political party and joined the BJP. Poonamben Maadam, BJP Candidate, State Cabinet Minister, Mulu Bera and District BJP President, Mayur Gadhvi saw the ceremony.
The event is now being seen as a demonstration of the BJP's power over its native land of Gujarat. The state has always been improved under the rule of the Bhartiya Janta Party, so this was to be expected. But the sheer number of workers changing their affiliation was unexpected.
The leaders who switched over include
Dwarka district Congress General Secretary,
District Panchayat member Ebha Karmur,
Opposition Leader and Taluka Panchayat member Yogesh Nandania,
Taluka Panchayat members Laxman Chavda, Malsi Dahiya,
Dwarka Congress OBC Cell President Kishan Bhatia,
Dwarka district Youth Congress President Savan Karmur,
APMC director of Khambhaliya Babu Gojia, and 14 Sarpanches.
This is a major move by Poonamben Maadam, who welcomed the leaders to the BJP side at a meeting in Khambhaliya alongside two others. This is another move by the Jamnagar MP towards a definitive win in the coming elections. The Bhartiya Janta Party has these elections in the bag.
'Expect the unexpected' seems to be coming true with Poonamben Maadam.
