There are always packages of Prima Taste’s popular Laksa LaMian somewhere in our house. You see, mum love eating this instant noodles with aromatic coconut curry soup. Sis prepared this bowl of laksa (叻沙) with additional ingredients of shabu shabu pork and pork & vegetable dumplings. Can’t wait to dig in after the camera had “eaten”. :D

going to log every noodle i eat.  

Chencun crossing the bridge instant rice noodles, mushroom stew. contents: thin rice noodles, little pack of dried veg and possibly mushroom (maybe chicken), seasoning paste and ... third packet.

  boiled it and added an egg. overcooked so the noodle broke apart, almost had to use a spoon. really tasty!! mushroomy. the dry products smelled awful (preservation...) but when cooked the smell was mushroomy. love the little dude. not spicy.

BBQ chicken Mi-Goreng

Have to say. .. this flavour of Mi Goreng isn't as good as the OG spicy flavour, which I ran out of =(

& you know what I recently noticed. .. I mean, this situation happens often but Mi Goreng isn't my usual type of instant noodle so I never really thought about it in the past.

Its portion size.

It is a very awkward portion/amount.

One is too little; it's like snack size. MAMA noodles, I eat 2 as 1. But these Mi Gorengs are larger in amount than MAMA noodles. 2 is okay IF I literally don't have any toppings but that's never the case. For the above 1st try of this BBQ chicken flavour, I JUST had the 1 noodle with all its contents/seasonings (bcos I wanted to try it all on its own).

^ here is the 2nd bag I ate. This is more than usual amount of protein.. . but that's bcos the noodle is small (or else I won't be full).

So yeah, it's a weird size of noodle. .. You know how some products have like those occasional 'up-sized' portions? Like sometimes I see bags of noodles saying "33% more" or whatever. These Mi Gorengs need that lol 1.65x its current size would be perfect for 1 serving!

My home-cooked instant noodle lunch sis made for me. She uses A1 Abalone Noodle, to which she added shabu shabu pork collars, wontons and a poached egg. There were only two tiny abalones in the pack of noodles though the flavours hit all the right spots except for the S$4.25 price tag.
