Spoiler-Free Thoughts on ExU : Calamity Episode 3

1. A MASTERCLASS in DMing, RPing and acting.

2. I’m going to need the entire week to process this.

3. ExU : Calamity NEEDS TO BE ANIMATED. And it needs to be AT LEAST 2 hours long. Do another fundraiser and TAKE MY MONEY!

Ok so lets lay everything out.

spoilers ahead people...

Ashton, Laudna, Fearne, Orym all went down at some point.

Chetney is up and in wolf form but probably not looking good.

Fearne and Orym are past saving throws.

Laudna has 2 failed saves and Otohan standing over her.

FCG has at least one lv 3 spell slots and I THINK 2 diamonds.

Ashton is booking it, I think he’s most likely given up.

Imogen just used up most if not all her spells trying to stop Otohan, but also just released her powers (???), turned the dust storm red and then everything went white. 

The fact that Matt described that the building got torn down and people were pushed around I don’t think people are where there minis were last placed.

....What does this all mean? I have no FUCKING clue. For me this is the biggest “trust the process” moment I feel I have ever had with Cr. Four people up, one of them running away, with 3 party members dead/on there way there. I don’t think this will be a TPK, but I also don’t think everyone is walking away from this one. 

I really don’t know how to end this other then.... Is it thursday yet?

Ok so hear me out

In Sam Riegel's Instagram takeover he says that his EXU:C character would have “barely any reaction” to FCG, and I am currently reeling bc this can imply like three different things:

1. Automatons with FCG’s awareness are so commonplace that there would be no reason to warrant a reaction from them,

2. THIS character is ALSO an automaton, meaning they would view FCG as simply familiar to them

OR- (and this is my favorite one lol)

3. It’s just FCG. he’s been kicking it since the Calamity, and they just can’t remember anything 

Needless to say, I am very hyped for Thursday!!

Thinks that have percolated in St: Prodigy discussions this week.

Cuz we all just going nuts waiting for the next ep and theories are all we have.

1. The Admiral is a month behind Dal and His Crew.

Based on the logs she arrives at Tars Lamora and then at the outpost each time about a month after Dal and Co have left it. Speculation of temporal shenanigans abound. Dauntless is probably just slower than Protostars super star engine tho.

2. Diviner as Manipulator or Oblivious Ally?

IS he gonna remember and manipulate Janeway into taking his side??? or is he going to have amnesia or be confused TM and mae actual cozy friends with the federation he forgets he hates. Is he in a grandfather paradox? oh my. v. compelling questions here.

3. Chakotay been missing for how long??? guesses range from 3 months to 5 years and no easy clues at all (KJs been an admiral for practically 5 years by Prodigy. but Chak acts like her promotion is recent in the ships launch clip... are we in an alt timeline? are we time traveling? Oh so confused).

4. One think is for sure. Sad Tea Janeway needs a hug and an espresso stat. (why does she need to give it up? stress from Chaks disappearing. shes only given up tea in timelines with no chakotay. just saying.)

5. Speaking of Janeways, the Tol and Smol one need to stand next to eachother at some point. a clear understanding of how tall the tol Janeway is is required because left to my own imagination Tol Janeway has stetched to a holographic 6 feet

6. Does the Admiral care that her hologram was designed like her fresh young captain self? why is this? who decided this? I just feel like shed care. I mean I know we're in a kids show but i'd love to unpack whatever feelings she has generally about having a hologram of herself.

6. Are we gonna do the time warp again?

like it is a Janeway series i do not think it coud be complete without some clear disregard for the temporal prime directive. Does this extend to HJ? I hope so. let my girl terrorize DTI. she ought to have a plaque on their departments wall.

So.... I haven't posted a lot since the end of C2. The whole reason I came to Tumblr was because of those idiots known as The Mighty Nein. They were the best bunch of adventurers out there in my book & there really hasn't been not an episode of C3 that made me want to post. That was until last Thursday. Episode 33, Blood and Dust was AH-MAZING! If you haven't watched it yet, bewarned, there will be SPOILERS. . . . . . . . . . Okay, if you are still here & haven't watched it yet, too bad. This episode was one of the best in this campaign. I am someone who loves angst. In C2, *The King's Cage* followed by *The Cathedral* then *Punishment & Politics*. Even though there were no deaths in those episodes, it was still filled with a lot of unknowns. Not sure if Beau was going to die at Yasha's hand or if Obann was going to defeat them in the basement. *Blood & Dust* felt the same way. We don't know what this Thursday will bring. Will Orym or Fearne come back, or will we meet new characters in the coming weeks? I know I know I know. A lot of people are upset that this happened & pissed that they were killed. If the game did not have dire consequences, it would not be a fun game to play. I have died in my DnD game before & it sucked. We had a person with us who literally stabbed the other players in the back & killed all of us. It fucking sucked so bad. BUt it is part of the reason why I love this game & I love watching CR. You never know what will happen. But I do want to tip my proverbial hat at the cast though, especially Laura Freaking Bailey. Imogen is one of the best characters in this game & it is all because of Laura. I have been a Laura fan from day one. I love watching her expressions & how emotional she gets at the table. They all got a little emotional to be honest & rightly so. It was an emotional show. I love love love this group of people & no one more than Matt. He made a point to Tweet that he is impacted by the death of a PC just like the table is. He also gives that player the option on what they want to do next. So if Orym doesn't come back, it is not Matt's fault, it is Liam's. Same with Fearne. Liam & Ashley may already have other PC's rolled for just an occasion. Who knows. We sure as hell don't! BUT BUT BUT No one should be bashing them. AT ALL. As I have always said, this is their game & we are just lucky enough to have a chance to watch them. I am so looking forward to what plays out on Thursday. One way or another, the game will go on & will be right there to see what happens. **Not sure who to credit for the pic, but it's from the episode thumbnail**

Happy Thursday y'all 🎲🗡

I started this today freehand and I am by no means an artist (plus I had a huge time constraint) but I like what I got even tho it's in no way perfect

I am aiming to finish with the logo, add a "How do you want to do this?" on a scroll and maybe a Frumpkin reference as well as a little quote of some sort (time allowing)

It's very ambitious I know.

Also the inside will have a teal bottom and purple sides. Maybe a blue rim if I can manage it
