Isra wal Miraj: Play for Children Script
This year for Isra wal Miraj we are posting the script of our play for children in case there are any people who are interested in producing the play as well. We only ask that if you do please send us pictures.
So far we have the play available in English and Arabic and we hope to make the play available in any other language if you would like to do so and send it to us. You are most welcome…
Isra wal Miraj: Scroll
In preparation for Isra wal Miraj we have displayed an accordion book that can also be hung as a vertical scroll where the Prophet’s (s) journey begins at the bottom and ends at the top.
With this scroll we want the children to understand:
the origin of the prayer postures
what the Prophet (s) saw in his ascension
that the most important thing that the Prophet (s) saw was the vastness of Allah’s…
A: “Hey! Isra, come back! It’s me—Cassie.”
B:“You are you, aren’t you? I mean, you’re not some kind of memory-stealing alien, are you?”
A: “What kind of question is that? Of course, I’m me! I think I would know that I’m me. Besides, that doesn’t make any sense. How would an alien manage to steal your memories so far away from you?”
B: “Okay then, so what’s my favourite type of cheese? Also, that sounds exactly like what a memory-stealing alien would say.”
A: “Well, I’m not an alien. And also, cheese?! We’re standing in the broken husk of our ship, with a battle raging outside, and you’re asking me about cheese! Is it really … do you have to ask this? It’s lunar cheddar, by the way.”
ANOTHER CHAPTER COMPLETE!!! Only two left to go!!! The end is nigh people. The end is nigh!
Although, I do have to admit that I previously forgot about a whole ass chapter. So on other posts when I said I had five chapters left, etc, I actually had six. Sue me. Forgot all about poor old chapter 29. Second to last chapter. Still, I do have only chapters 24 and 29 to write now. I promise. This first draft is almost finished!!!!!
1st row: Early concepts (with base from https://www.deviantart.com/courtneysconcepts/art/Mermaid-Bases-689132219) and alternative color scheme.

3rd row: Finished design by fishoni.
That said, Isra really, really wants something to eat. There’s nothing in her pockets, and there’s no way to know if any of the alien food is safe to eat. Part of her is ready to chance it. If another alien walks by holding one of those apple-like things, she’s going to make a grab for it. She’ll probably regret it later but that’s never stopped her before. In fact, it’s pretty much her whole life; making reckless decisions and regretting them afterwards but thoroughly enjoying them in the moment. As for consequences, well she’s got Finn to help with those. He’s well-practised in the art of sorting out problems caused by Isra.

Walking as nonchalant as it’s possible to be with a bag of stolen crap, Isra strolls up the jar and dips her hand. The pebbles shift, clinking against each other and the jar. A shiver runs through her; Isra can practically feel the other two beings glaring at her for disturbing the peace. Time to work quicker then. Isra fishes out a small handful of pebbles, stuffs them in her bag, and hightails it out of there as quick as possible.

same way most species do anyway. Just great. Nothing like a long fancy dinner

Isra’s gaze drifts up towards it, mesmerised by the shifting colours. It’s
beautiful. Maybe this planet has terrible security but boy, they sure make a

Still smiling, she raps on the door with her knuckles. It quickly slides open, revealing a very dishevelled Finn. He blinks down at her, rubbing at his chin with one hand and clutching what appears to a bejewelled knife in the other.
“Uh, hi,” he asks, a note of confusion in his voice. “Something you needed?”
Isra reaches up to snatch the knife and twirls it between her fingers. “Not this, but it’s very nice all the same. Shall I take it as an early birthday present? I quite like it.”
“Don’t expect anything else then. This knife looks quite expensive so I won’t be able to afford anything else. That’s your lot. Enjoy it.” Finn raises an eyebrow at Isra, then steps back to allow her to enter his room. “Mi casa es su casa. Enjoy being in the presence of greatness.”
Posting again today!!! I drew the gang as kids!!
Evan(red jumper): Evan has always loved looking fancy. Like, always. Ever since he was a few days old and his dad put his tie on the kid.
Evan cried for hours with he tried to take it off.
Nym(green jumper): They can and will sleep anywhere. And I mean ANYWHERE. They once fell asleep on an alley cat that had been accidentally let into the orphanage.
Other than that, they were a pretty giggly kid. They would laugh at anything, and their smile could(and still can) light up a room.
Lily(blue jumper): Lily was always a curious kid. She put everything in their mouth, even if it wasn’t good for her.
Isra(pink jumper): Isra was a heck of a kid. They were everywhere at once, their gift of flight and magic allowing them to slip from wary grasps.
And they ate. All the cookies.
