I'm going to do a full analysis of issue 63 soon but I just needed to say that Lanolin telling Silver to do better hit too close to home.

I actually felt and understood everything Silver felt at that time and I was so mad at Lanolin for saying that.

WAIT HERE

The doomed citizens of Lorn, a district of Northern Sun, have been trapped in an airport hangar for nearly 1100 days. It is unclear how they have managed to survive for so long, but surveillance tells us shadowy shapes can be seen flickering in the frosted windows. So we are pretty sure everyone is still alive. As for how they all got in there, outside sources say it was a dream. We asked the outside source to elaborate. They had this to add:

“They thought they were going somewhere. They thought they had a destination. A voice from the ceiling told them to stand in silence. To link arms and hold themselves upright. Someone would come by and take them away. They didn’t care where. Just as long as they had somewhere to go.”

Inside, a woman shivers, pulling her arms close into her hoodie. She stares at the falling snow outside the tarmac. Empty oblivion. But it hasn’t been all bad. She’s made a few friends. One of them even had a pack of cards. And that’s how the time passes. But she doesn’t know how many more rounds of Rummy she can take.

She was willing to wait out the first snow. It was a reasonable setback at the time. Inclimate weather. Not safe to fly. No wonder there were no planes taking off. She’d wait for a week tops and then they’d all be on their way. That’s…not how it happened. First snow melted into spring and then to the blistering heat of summer. And then to the second snow. And now to the third. Not going anywhere.

She wonders if there have been any efforts to make a rescue. Or have they been forgotten.

Or have they already arrived?

This is it?

A child taps her on the shoulder. No older than seven years old. He’s bundled up in his father’s scarf wrapped four times around his small body. The woman turns from the window.

“Look what I found!”

In his hand, a glass marble. Milky blue with a very slight amber tint. It glistens, even in the harsh overhead lights. And unusually warm to the touch. The woman’s face cracks into a smile.

“You can have it if you like!” He says, loud and brilliant.

The woman takes it. Rubs it in between her fingers. Smooth. Comforting.

“Thank you.” She says. The boy scampers away, giggling. Quickly disappearing into the crowd of huddled people.

One of my favorite details that they show off for Sonic has been how completely comfortable he is when simply chilling at very high levels.

He’s just resting on the clock tower and hanging off of it like there’s no worry about or that there’s a thousand foot drop right below him.

Years of doing that every day will just have you become accustomed to it I guess, especially when you have the power of speed knowing it will help get you down swiftly.

I was listening to Nicos podcast and he brings up several times he had to dramatically lose weight, back in Williams for the Kers system and then in Mercedes in 2016. I was just thinking how this would play out in Rule63 Nico, since she'd already be smaller and lighter from being a girl and maybe dealing with more media pressure to be as thin as possible and how the others (esp Jenson) would try to look after her and Nico acting confident but also still being scared about her weight in private ❤

Oh plss! Poor nico being so stressed about her weight both because she needs to be light for the car but also because she gets bodyshamed a lot? She is pretty but ofcourse her body is strong and maybe a little broader than she'd like which is all cos of muscle she is not even close to being overweight, she is underweight in anything!

Maybe Jenson notices Nico eating less and maybe only keeping to a very strict diet snd starts to worry about her, asking her if the team is making her do this because he will kill thwm for her! Nico telling him she is just being a good driver and being her best self for the team and the weightloss will help them all, but Jenson can see its no longer healthy what she is doing.

Jenson going to talk to Toto behind Nico's back snd expressing his worries and Toto starts observing her more closer too and finally sees through her facade of "everything is fine I am losing weight to drive faster". Nico being so betrayed because she knows it was jenson who talked to Toto and for a while she holds a grudge and refuses to talk to Jenson but eventually she realised Jenson helped her a lot!
