ACOTAR Headcanons - Gym AU Edition

Some just-for-fun and weirdly specific headcanons based on my own very regular observations.

Feyre: Feyre is actually pretty typical in terms of gymgoing, who tends to fall into her own zone once she has her playlist up and running. She usually starts on the treadmill and people watches before fully getting into her own zone and opting for intuitive workouts that feel right for her at the time rather than going for strict programs or plans. She doesn't sweat. She glistens. She keeps her attire pretty practical with classic, neutral leggings and a tank top. Often shows up with Rhys even though they separate to do their own thing. Honestly, everyone kind of just likes Feyre even if they don't really know her.

Elain: The Soft Gym Girl™ aesthetic incarnate and the social butterfly who makes friends with everyone in her group fitness classes. Is adored by all the older ladies who work out there and knows them all on a first-name basis, and they bond over gardening. Always has her yoga mat and shows up in paler colors and can fearlessly rock a white 'fit, often with a light wrap sweater or cardigan over her workout clothes. She somehow still always looks put-together and perfect after a workout, a low ponytail with curls/waves still intact and hint of color on her cheeks that makes it look more like she's blushing and less like she's just worked out for an hour. Don't underestimate her, though: she can hold her own in any group fitness class and loves the way they leave her feeling.

Nesta: Don't Talk to Me™. Grandmaster of the RBF, who pulls her hair back tightly in a neat, low bun or severe braid so that no strands stray from their place. She will glare at anyone who tries to speak to her/distract her and will usually completely ignore anyone who makes that attempt without even taking off her headphones. Also looks crazy hot despite it all and opts for sleek, plainer, dark outfits (usually matching sets) in cuts that show off her lean, strong form. Only shows up when she feels like it but somehow doesn't lose strength or stamina.

Amren: The Small But Mighty™, who like Nesta falls a little more into the RBF category but also gains a lot of attention by the absolutely stupid amount of weight she moves for her small stature. She's also the one you never quite know what you'll see doing: she might be deadlifting the weight of two Cassians, or she might be pulling some calisthenics in the corner. Nobody knows much about her. Nobody asks. Has been witnessed talking to Nesta; so far the only time the regulars have seen the former smile.

Mor: Bold Gear Girl. She has no fear when it comes to her wardrobe and will wear anything from unforgiving red leggings, to a bodysuit, to a one-strap sports bra. She knows she looks good and isn't afraid to flaunt what she's got, but she also gets in her zone and can keep up with the best of them in just about any type of exercise. She likes taking classes with others and absolutely kills it in Zumba, but she'll just as easily kill it in kickboxing. Also much stronger than her feminine, curvy frame gives away. When that belt goes on (and it's definitely pink), it's game time.

Rhys: Despite being called "out of shape" by Cassian and Azriel, Rhys is anything but. Like Feyre, he tends to not stand out too much aside from his looks and presence, but definitely still gets noticed for his beauty and sensuality by all the women (and a few men). Definitely dressed head-to-toe in name brand gear that fits his body beautifully to the point of being sinful. The Pretty One™ that's caused at least one gym girlie to walk into a wall or trip over something while trying to watch him. Often shows up with Feyre even though they separate to do their own thing. Has big Married Man and Loyal energy. Wears his wedding ring through every single workout. Silently judges really bad gym 'fits with Feyre. The old ladies who work out there are convinced he's the guy from their sexy billionaire romance novels and they absolutely talk fantasies about him over lunch afterwards.

Cassian: The Fit Pro™. The Trainer, unofficial or otherwise who has the training and education to know exactly how to train his body and others' to maximize both efficiency and benefits. This man is Strong™. He's also built a social media following and has accidentally become something like an influencer because of his funny, easygoing personality and wicked smile. May or may not be hypped up on pre-workout. He will program the perfect workout to meet his friends' goals but is also excellent at improvising. Always willing to train his friends. Unironically and completely intentionally wearing The Sweatpants™. The only man brave enough to ask Nesta how many reps she has left or crazy enough to do so while grinning. Will not do yoga or Zumba. Is convinced both would cause him irreparable injury. Surprisingly agile and quick with rock climbing despite his size. Cannot be left unsupervised for too long. Is universally loved by all of the old ladies and hugs them. The old men really like him too and like to share "back in my day" stories when they used to lift a lot more weight, too. Got kicked out of Planet Fitness.

Azriel: The Strong and Silent Walking Sin™, who always has his headphones on, is always wearing all black, and considers muscle-up ring dips a normal part of his warm-up. This man shows up in layers of black gym gear and is peak V-shape aesthetic, with the kind of shoulder-waist ratio that makes other guys simultaneously jealous and question their sexuality. Nobody knows much of anything about him, but he never misses a workout and he's too many people's gym crush. When that hoodie/pump cover comes off, it's all over. Hits the mat with MMA guys or Cassian on occasion and forces a submission with the former fast. He always knows more about you than you know about him and has probably somehow overheard every conversation you never wanted him to.

Lucien: Simultaneously the Endurance Guy™ and the Social Butterfly™ with a well-rounded, smart training plan. Sure, he's not as big as Cassian or as intense as Azriel, but he's also no slouch when it comes to strength training and is regularly underestimated in it despite his strong, fit body. King of bodyweight exercises with crazy stamina. He's the guy who will overlap you ten times over on the track without breaking a sweat while you're dying. He isn't as quickly noticed when he walks in, but the ones who notice him do so thoroughly. Aesthetics are his middle name. Will kick your ass in a Spartan--only Azriel and Cassian can really compete with him there. Lucien's top of the line in terms of speed and overall agility. Knows everybody's business, but keeps it to himself. Will tease you a little, but will also help you out if you have a question. Likes to wrap things up by lounging by the pool during the warm seasons. Seems like he's spent a lot of time outdoors. Can also handle the rock wall and bouldering like a pro. The old ladies absolutely adore him and keep trying to set him up with their granddaughters.

Tamlin: Pretty, But Distant. Tamlin keeps to himself and focuses mostly on strength training through weightlifting. He's strong as hell but isn't necessarily pushing himself too hard for a new PR. Never asks for a spotter and takes a few seconds too many switching through songs on his playlist. He does genuinely look good, but currently isn't putting off the vibe of someone you could get close to. Not quite getting those revenge reps from his messy breakup in yet, but he's getting there. Raises an eyebrow and stares at grunters with a look of mild annoyance, then ends up moving far more weight with ease and in silence. Unclear if this is out of pettiness or not (but it's low-key funny af).

Ianthe: The Influencer™ with a full face of makeup, a one-strapped sports bra, and the up-the-ass bike shorts trying to get the perfect selfie. Is sitting on the equipment far too long and is starting to annoy people. Spends more time finding the perfect lighting, walking around the gym trying to pick up men, and somehow always being at the front of the weight room doing hip thrusts or bent-over rows with 2 lb. dumbbells. Makes eye contact on the hip abductor.

Jurian: Slightly loud and a little competitive, but also can usually back up his talk and what he's able to accomplish. This guy occasionally disappears at random, but is overall consistent and somehow knows everybody's business (and will bring it up). Probably the one grunting at the same amount of weight Amren's deadlifting.

Tarquin: The Fish™. This man is in the pool at 5:00 a.m. every day and swims a number of laps so smoothly and quickly that Ryan Lochte is nearly able to construct a coherent sentence. When he's not in the pool, he's quietly drifting around the weight room and resistance machines. King of the lat pull-downs. He's pretty sensible overall and doesn't stand out too much outside of the pool even though he looks amazing. Also a popular choice among the old lady crowd. Had to kick Cassian out of Planet Fitness.

Varian: Amren's shadow and designated spotter even though she doesn't need one. Nobody's entirely sure what he does. He kind of just hangs out.

Helion: Gym Daddy™. Helion brings as much knowledge to the floor as he brings swagger. It's hard not to notice him and he's strong af, but somehow makes everything he does look easy and like he's not even trying. Has definitely messed with Cassian at one point or another by "easily" moving a close-to-max weight while carrying on a conversation. Somehow makes everything look slightly sexual even if unintentionally. Keeps thorough records of his training sessions and almost always has a small notebook or notepad with him to do so.

Thesan: The Machines Guy. Thesan likes a workout where he can focus and get into his own zone, and he likes to do so a bit more quietly and on his own time. He's not competitive. He's just here for his health, but is polite if approached. He's fit but isn't the heavy lifter or endurance guy that some of the others are. Pretty generally well-liked; isn't sure how to answer the sweet old ladies' comments about them "having a granddaughter!" for him but is polite about it anyway.

The atypical shounen MC and his tsundere deuteragonist boyfriend

Izuku’s mental is cooked and one of my favourite gags in doujinshi is when someone, usually Kacchan, references his emotional instability. I’ll laugh and think “true sis” because I feel a kinship in that doujinka seeing it in him too. And then Izuku can also be a trigger happy cry baby and that’s not “normal” for shounen MCs. I adore Horikoshi for designing and fitting him outside the box of certified normal™ standards. Because that box is a trap. It’s a stereotypical, overused and tiring pitfall of shounen protags past. It does make you wonder, though… if Horikoshi isn’t afraid of making his MC completely susceptible to his emotions, what else isn’t he afraid of..?

Izuku presents as a high in “typically feminine” energies, incredibly giving, considerate, loving, sensitive, yet somehow still ambiguous teenager (none of us know for sure what he truly thinks or feels most of the time, as he is prone to keeping his innermost feelings tightly locked inside his chest, where they can’t be judged or rejected) and to round his personality off, his role was cast to a seiyuu who has a higher vocal register and the same beautiful soul, but Izuku can sometimes be emotionally volatile. I can’t think of any major shounens that have written their MC in this way. I think that is why we sometimes see people call bnha mid. Because just like the mha fandom dudebros who stan Izuku when he was at his worst because he was more of a Chad for them, I think these people simply don’t understand Izuku and his sensitivity to emotions he feels with his whole self, so they can’t relate to him well.

But that’s what makes him so unique and loveable to the rest of us - just as he represents quirklessness in the series, he is also a king of neurodiversity. His head’s got a screw or two loose, right? His thinking has always been out of whack and we know this to be true because the person who knows him best says it too and he doesn’t even know the other half of it.

Kacchan sees the boy who’s pushing himself too hard to prove his worth but from our perspective, Izuku also has breakdowns, ptsd, memory lapses and is losing his shit at the slightest slight to Kacchan. All of this is in contrast to Kacchan who used to be just as screwed up with his own lifelong misunderstandings and foul temperament, but has been slowly getting his act together, and while doing so, metaphorically grabbing Izuku by the hands, gently taking him along with him, to that same path of self-care that Kacchan also longs for him. So that they can live healthier lives together. Apologetically so, because Kacchan feels a lot of Izuku’s messed up thinking/behaviour is somewhat his fault. That simply by being in each other’s lives, their problems and feelings had become so tangled and twisted for years. So Kacchan has been desperately trying to unravel and blow away the garbage of it all and go back to how it should have been, had he taken that small, unassuming and kind hand 12, 13 years ago.

Their struggle and battle with feelings for each other is what makes the main bnha relationship so interesting and endearing. They say there’s a fine line between love and hate and they have both loved each other a lot and hated each other in between, but through it all, through every moment, in every interaction they have together, it is so clear to me and to all of us here rooting for them that they need and complete each other.

They are both for each other: the Ying to the other’s Yang, the quiet and understanding kindness to the fragile vulnerability, the heart on the other’s sleeve, the anchor of reason to the unreasonable and the personal hero who always saves them, again and again, without hesitation. Two complete opposites that eventually lost to their unshakeable magnetism, overcoming their messed up history together and subsequently revealing feelings that yield the angsty fine print of them both screaming out into the void:

 “PLEASE DON’T LEAVE MY SIDE!”

This kizuna-bound pair have gone through so much pain and misunderstanding, only to realise the life-or-death need and crazy, obsessive, passionate love for their “most closest” other half, and damn it, if they were never meant to become canon after all this slowburn buildup, I’m going to throw down with Kohei🥊😤… 😂

The Dark Horse of Acting - Build's Pete

A case study of acting techniques

When the series started I had absolutely no idea what journey Pete will have in the narrative - I somehow avoided a fair bit of novel related posts and did not until Episode 7 that Pete and Vegas are the secondary couple. Even when I did realize it I did not give it much thought because well, Pete was such an understated character compared to the rest of them. I honestly can't even recall what I thought about him beyond "ahaha lol what a funny guy he makes funny faces hahaha" and "lol lol he's so done with Tankhun he's so relatable lol lol".

I know that everyone likes to think of every character as morally grey in the show but in my opinion, within the context of the world the showrunners have created, Kinn and Porsche are relatively morally upright, Vegas is relatively morally uhh...bad, and Pete is the one that is truly genuinely morally grey. In DnD terms - he would be what I would call a true neutral (compared to Kinn's lawful good, Porsche's chaotic good and Vegas' lawful evil) (just to add here lawful here doesn't mean legal - not gonna explain the whole DnD thing here, please google it if this doesn't make sense to you in any way).

Pete's unique combination of high empathy and high cynicism has led to creation of this increasingly interesting character, brought to life by Build's flawless execution - understated in the initial episodes, unexpectedly intense in the later episodes.

Apo, Mile and Bible are overwhelmingly charismatic - I don't think they could do a scene where you would look away from them. Wardrobe and makeup also plays a huge role in that but I don't think you could ever cast these three actors as side characters because they would simply take over a scene. Build on the other hand blended seamlessly into the background in the first few episodes.

In this scene even when Pete is talking it's hard to take your eyes off of Porsche. It's partially because how the camera is placing Porsche in the frame (1/3rd of the way in and he is also very tall and in front) and partially because Build seems to...almost have a dial where he can switch off his charisma.

This scene on the other hand, the camera actually focuses on Pete but you can see how even blurred Apo's Porsche is dominating the scene. If you didn't have context clues from reading other people's post about Pete on socials you would never clock him as anything more than a boy-next-door in the wrong business. This boy does not belong in the mafia.

His scenes with Kinn and Vegas are also in the same vein, he strictly feels like a side character until-

8 episodes later we have this scene and it's really hard to believe this is the same guy from the gifs above. You cannot take your eyes away from him. Think we can all agree he looks unhinged here and finally looking like an actual gangster. I never would have guessed that I would see this side of Pete considering how Build was playing Pete until this point - it was such a surprise for me.

This is another interesting one: Bible has incredibly sharp and defined bone structure while Build has a very soft face. Usually a face like Bible dominates the screen and it usually does but here Build is able to match Bible's energy. Nobody is overpowering anybody and he looks nothing like the soft boy of the first few episodes - he looks calculating, assured, almost at peace and juuuust a little bit dangerous. Comic relief side character has walked out the door, she is charisma incarnate, she is the moment.

My favorite scenes with Pete are the ones where he is giving people advices. He has done it for Porsche, for Kinn and finally for Vegas here. Build really does the detached cynicism™ with perfection. Notice how dead his eyes look here, how slack his face is. He is understanding but also tired. He is resigned.

Now compare that to his eyes here- they look so alive - again it's almost like it's two entirely different actors and I know that's the whole point of acting but!!! I am in awe!! I have no option but to stan!!

And finally my absolute favorite frame featuring Pete. The direction was so good and Pete looks - well he looks like a lot of things - but he mostly looks evil here! Like he has just succeeded in tricking somebody. Like a cat who has just cornered a rat - it's such an unsettling smile, that paired with the unsettling music and Vegas' smile fading when he sees Pete smile - I had my jaws on the floor - Build was the showstopper, he was so real for this I can't even.

I think the showrunners could not have casted a better person for this role. Build's Pete is a truly remarkable work of subtle acting, absolutely unexpected, the dark horse of the cast.

My OCs as Flatmates, Part 1

Oh boy! You've invited a demon to your house, congratulations!

Charlie, I feel like, would be a fun roommate. I assume this is after GB II, so he'd already relatively well adjusted, but they're still... not human.

Like, my boy™ barely sleeps at all. This means that, yes, you can come to them at any time of day or night and be relatively sure that he's awake. And even if he isn't, they're not that hard to wake up and they don't get grumpy if you do wake him up. However, it also means that he might be noisy at night. Not even intentionally. But if your flat has thin walls, you'll hear them rummaging around the kitchen or taking a shower in the middle of the night. You might also be faced with some confusing situation at times because he hasn't master all situations of human behaviour yet. Also, they eat the weirdest things sometimes.

Aside from that though, he 100% has your back, no matter what happens. They're loyal as ever. Whatever you need, he's got you. Need help moving in? Charlie is strong as balls, he'll carry your stuff. Shitty ex? How do you want to give the bastard payback - are we thinking of a fake dating scenario, do you just want someone to come with you somewhere just in case, do you want them beaten up, humiliated...? Charlie will probably also curse and/or haunt the ex, let's be honest.

Also, he's a literal (former) Ghostbuster. If you get a nightmare or think you're cursed or haunted or something, he'll take you seriously. Or any irrational fear, really, because they've seen a lot of things and are willing to believe a lot of things. Charlie will probably go through the routine Ghostbuster questionnaire with you to determine if it's a ghost or not and what kind of ghost and then go from there. They'll cheer you up and make you feel safe before confronting the specter. Even if you accidentally summoned a demon or something, Chandrah is also a demon, it'll deal with it.

Depending on whether you know that Charlie is secretly a demon or not, you might also see them floating around sometimes and he'll use his demonic powers for tasks or to help you. It's normal. They might even show you their demonic form if you ask nicely.

Definitely would want to spend a lot of time with you. He's a bit clingy but understands if you need some space. Would also be fine with just coexisting in the same room as you if you don't have the time or energy to do anything special.

As to how you got into this flatshare situation, I'm pretty sure that Charlie would've put out the ad and it's his house/apartment. Charlie, being a demon and (former) Ghostbuster, is pretty rich and would be able to afford living on their own, but they want a flatmate because they feed off human affection and they get bored when they're alone for too long. He probably didn't put his name in the ad because he is more or less famous and you probably wouldn't figure out it's them until you come over to take a look at the apartment before deciding if you want to move in. But they're super nice and humble about their Ghostbusters experiences and will be really glad to share stories with you. A baseline belief in the paranormal is probably a requirement for living with him though.

We're assuming a Planetary Union context here and not just Raevyn somehow dropping in on our present day. Probably, you're both studying at Union Point.

One thing that needs to be very clear to you and that she tells you right away is that you will have very little privacy. She can't help it, she's a telepathic species and she's gonna know all of your secrets sooner or later. You can't really keep anything from her.

BUT this also means that she knows exactly what's wrong when you're down and how to help you and you best believe she'll do it. She's there to comfort you, whenever, wherever. Has your routines memorized after a few weeks, knows your comfort foods and shows, adapts to your needs really well.

Generally, Raevyn is really considerate but, like with any flatmate, you'll also have to deal with some nonsense from her. Since this is her Union Point era, she's gonna have quite a few crushes and partners, and you might have to deal with a good bit of relationship drama. Not an obscene amount, but definitely more than average. She also probably forgets to do the dishes every once in a while. Just remind her to do them and it's all good.

Activities! Don't expect to go to the pool or the beach with her, she's still in her phase where she's hiding her aquatic heritage. But aside from that, she's down for pretty much anything. She'd love to learn about your culture and show you hers and meet your friends and have you meet hers and... But she's also down for more relaxing activites like bord games or video games or movies or just talking. Would also be a pretty good study buddy.

Raevyn would be the best person to have as backup if you want to go on a date but you're kinda worried about it and the person seems sketchy. My girl is ready to beat anyone up for you, whether that be verbally or physically. She's also a walking taser, so she could end the conflict before it even started if you don't want a scene. Would also teach you martial arts if you want. Generally, she has a lot of relationship drama herself, so she definitely understands yours. You can gush about your crushes and cry about breakups together.

Also! Raevyn is quite literally the least problematic person when it comes to gender identities and sexuality and whatnot. It's in her culture to know that everyone's mind and feelings work differently and being attracted to different things is normal and gender is an infinite spectrum. The idea that there could be only two sexes and genders and that anything that isn't heterosexuality is a sin or something is completely wild and offensive to her. Personally, she's bisexual and will also 100% go to pride parades and festivals with you, even if she doesn't fully understand the history and mentality behind them. She would also do really well with neurodivergency, disability and other similar things. Do you know that situation where you're really frustrated at people just not understanding that you can't do a thing because you have no spoons left? This will never happen with Raevyn. Because she knows. She understands. She might not be neurodivergent or experience something similar but, because she's a telepath, she understands what you're going through and will adapt accordingly as much as she can.

Oh boy, this is actually gonna be a bit tough to answer, because... well, first of all, this means that you're in the Mario Universe. Funky shenanigans. Maybe you got Mario Movie style isekai-ed into it? (Disclaimer: I haven't actually watched the movie.) Either way, Sherry probably wasn't planning on having a flatmate but would gladly take you in.

The thing is, Sherry is a princess and was raised with the knowledge that she is a princess. But she wasn't raised at the palace, she was raised in some cottage in the middle of nowhere. Generally, living with her would be weird but fun. Because she's very kind and all but she has some quirks. For one, her sister is literally the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom and she's next in line for the throne. But Sherry couldn't care less about royal formalities and whatnot and doesn't really spend time around the palace. Still, you'll notice. If you go anywhere together, the attention will be on her and you'll be overlooked. As such: Don't think about throwing a joined birthday party. You might get an amazing cake from Princess Peach and a whole lot of famous people will be there, but it will no longer be your day. It's about her now.

Also, the whole kidnapping situation? Sherry's sister Peach constantly gets kidnapped by a guy and Sherry somehow works for the guy? Like, she babysits his son or something? Awkward...

What this means though is that, should you ever get in trouble with some evil forces or the King of the Koopas, Sherry has your back. Either she'll solve the issue herself or she'll get the Mario Brothers on the case. No problem.

Anyways, back to everyday situations: I feel like Sherry is a no nonsense sort of person (well, as much as you can be in the Mushroom Kingdom) and probably likes things to be in order, so if you leave your dishes out in the kitchen or whatnot, she won't be happy. But she's also the type who'll say something if she doesn't like something, so you won't get stuck in a silent war or anything. Also, she's not the type to hold grudges. See the "working for the guy who kidnaps her sister" situation. Whatever mistakes you make, she'll forgive you. Also, you'll never have financial troubles! She's a princess, she's rich, and she'll lend you money if you need it.

Whereas her sister likes to bake, Sherry likes to cook. You might cook together a lot if that's a thing you're into, or she'll make you homecooked meals for when you get home or just... whenever. I feel like she'd also be really good at mixing drinks, so great for when you're having parties! She also takes you kart racing, golfing, to football games, tennis, board game nights... whatever you like!

Oh yeah, Sherry also just leaves sometimes to go on an adventure or save or sister or go on vacation or whatnot, so you'll have the house to yourself a lot.

reverence: this song gives me the feeling of being out on casey's farmhouse porch on late summer afternoon or at sunset. everyone's just kind of basking in the warmth, downtime, and company of each other. some might be napping, those awake are making quiet, idle conversation. it's just nice.

end of small sanctuary: this one always makes me think of raph and gwyn, specifically, sitting on city high-point at sunset. much like how it's used in SH3 when heather is just being a teenager at the mall and is probably music she'd listen to, this very much gives me the energy and warmth of raph and gwyn sitting in the setting sun, high above the city, with maybe some food and light conversation. a breath between The Horrors™.

dúlaman: i've been trying to find and listen to more celtic/irish music for a lot of reasons (so if you know any pls gib), but one is to better cultivate the sound and energy of liáfsian folksongs and music.

spanish sahara: how could i make this list without one of the songs that never fails to fuck me up. spanish sahara has been the driving 'score' in my head when it's come to a number of story scenes or character moments due to the slow build and emotional release of the song as well as the lyrics. i dunno. this song just moves and inspires me in ways i can't quite articulate.

tsunami: this song just feels so strongly like aislinn to me. the lost-lover part, sure, but especially the feeling of drowning and just... the instrumentals/vocals feel like her, too. i associate her a lot with water.

rainy day: no specific scenario here, but this score makes me think of and want to draw don or leo. the game it's from kind of has a melancholic nostalgia to it, and the vibe sits well with them.

inner universe: this song is all vibes for me, and it always makes me think of entering the territory of one of the liáfsian dragons and crossing paths with it. specifically the dragon i associate with leo.

no turning back: this score is fully for gwyn being on the run. the title, the strings, the faint ticking clock and building drums toward the end, the urgency throughout. it is, for better or worse, a reflection of what so much of her life has felt like.

give a fuck: sounds and feels like a nyxram song. hard to explain, this one just always makes me think of her.

resting grounds: this score's on my playlist for the liáfsian ruins, which is an area in the realm considered to be cursed ground (but no one knows or remembers why). the ruins are beautiful, peaceful. but you never quite have the sense that you're truly alone.

apocalypse: this song always makes me think of PtINL, i can't really explain why. it's on my personal playlist for the fic, and every time it comes on shuffle it just sends me back into thoughts of mikey, aloy, their travels and their bond.

voidfish (plural): first of all: LOVE the voidfish. second, this is another one of those scores that gives me the energy of encountering ancient liáfsian fae.

empires: this song always makes me think of a 'trailer' for gwyn and ash's arc. i think it's accurate not only for how the final conflict between gwyn, ash and darach will go down, but there's a hint at a much older threat in there and "the tides are turned" being that companionship has been found in the turtles.

neglected space: this song, without fail, always makes me think of and want to draw nyxram. there's something sad, lost and desperate to it.

Eddie Munson

“Why are people so connected to this character?”

I was roped into watching Stranger Things season 4 after never taking the time to even watch season 3 because I happened to see some pictures of this guy, this new cast member in Stranger Things- I’m immediately drawn in by the 80s metalhead aesthetic because it is right up my alley and happens to be “a look” (tm) that I adore.

So I cave and watch the first episode, Eddie’s introduced and immediately I’m like, this guy has a lot of energy and then-- oh god he’s really climbing onto the table and making a scene. People shout “loser”/jock-boy calls him a freak and then Eddie takes the insult, folds it into a crown and wears the hell out of it.

I am immediately struck by the CONFIDENCE. This guy does not give a FUCK. He’s loud, kind of obnoxious, and very weird-- and I LOVE IT. He then goes around and is able to make all of his friends smile and laugh; his charisma commands the entire cafeteria scene.

He’s a roughly 20-21 year-old in high school; he’s failed senior year twice, but he’s somehow radiating coolness and it’s clear how everyone in the “nerds and freaks” group looks up to him. 

That level of self confidence and zero fucks given attitude is so admirable in my eyes; he never stops being himself. I can only wish I could be like that, and I think a lot of people feel the same, which is why Eddie comes off being so cool and likable. It’s only the tip of the iceberg really, but I felt like sharing my first reaction. 

So you’re still kind of on the fence about Eddie at this point-- Cut to the next scene with Eddie and Chrissy in the woods. Even though Eddie and Chrissy operate in very different “high school worlds”, he’s so nice to her. He goes out of his way to make her feel comfortable and smile because he can tell she’s going through some shit and is out of her comfort zone. It is such a sweet scene! Any reservations about him being a total asshole are pretty much out the window at this point

I think we were ROBBED of more Eddie/Steve interactions. I really wanted more of those two conversing.

There’s something to be said about how they’re both c.20 years old, both only appear to have friends younger than them, and both are stuck in a “deadbeat” situation- Eddie being the guy who failed senior year twice and Steve being the guy who couldn’t get into college and works at the ice cream/video rental store.(I’ll also point out that despite failing twice, Eddie is still trying to graduate, he hasn’t given up, another endearing quality)

Eddie lives in a trailer park, sells drugs, and we find out lives with his uncle (we can only theorize why), but these facts paint a particular picture.

Traditional society looks down on people in their circumstances, so-called “losers”; no future-- But, uh, guess what? High school reputation doesn’t amount to shit, lots of people don’t go to college, and working a “common/unskilled” job doesn’t dictate a person’s worth. Eddie and Steve are badasses who’ve faced and fought greater horrors than nearly the entire of the population in their universe- they chose to be brave and fight and protect the people they care about (and even those they don’t really care about). I’ll also point out that Eddie is clearly very passionate about metal and playing guitar, as demonstrated by his SICK skills, and you know he didn’t learn that in school.

((While not canon or explicitly stated- Eddie also comes off as ADHD coded with his level of energy and nature, which obviously would play a role in maybe making it harder for him to focus on things like school and studying (another relatable quality for many people) especially if he already has a hard time with those things. Like I said above, the fact that Eddie is still trying to graduate despite it all makes me think more on this- that he isn’t just lazy or something, though that could very well be a large part of it haha))

There’s also the interesting juxtaposition of Eddie and Steve’s respective high school reputations and how much/little they cared about it. They’re different, but they also have a lot in common and I’m glad Dustin was able to bridge the gap between them. There is also much to be said about Eddie acting as such a great friend and role model for Dustin as well. The love in their friendship is so heart-warming; how can you not smile when watching them? How can you not want to be friends with this guy?

I just wish we could have seen more, UGH.

I should preface this by thanking you for my most recent microcrisis, AKA the abrupt realization that somehow, somewhere along the line... the Theatre Kid Agenda™ has discreetly overtaken my top 3 list.

Speaking of the list:

1- You thought this would be Yuuya, but as it turns out... it's Yuuya! lol.

I'd go ahead and wax the usual poetry about the layers and symbols and all that jazz, but you've already seen me gush about that several times over, so I'll just focus on the babyboy factor for once instead. Yuuya may not have wet kitten energy even at his angstiest, but he sure is a sunshine bean of debatable genuity, and that's just as adoptable!

Looking at him alone is enough to make me want to offer comfort ok. I'm stuffing him in a blanket burrito and shipping him off to my place for a long, long break and some overdue therapy. We can cope with life together, cry a little, cry a lot, bake sweets to recuperate, melt into happy little puddles after a good treat, and then nerd out about theatrics and play a few duels to test silly strategies! This kid is my Son and he deserves all the best things in the world, so for every bit of pain he goes through I'm giving him a truckload of comfort.

2- You may have noticed this in ARC-V Month, you may have picked up on it through my sporadic, scattered mentions of the guy, but if not, then here's a fun fact: I have more than one ARC-V blorbo.

Introducing the central piece of a great many of my conflicted thoughts, confused feelings, paradoxical opinions, abrupt perception shifts, and eventual (semi-)begrudging affection that had me questioning my taste in pixels for like a whole year:

...Zarc.

I've known this fucker for 5 years, hated him for a solid 3, and then woke up one winter day in 2023 and realized that oh shit, he managed to land himself a spot in blorbo tier. Is this what people mean when they say a character grew on them? Were my feelings playing the most long-winded joke on my mind for 4 years? Trust me, I don't know. What I do know is that maining his deck was definitely an endearing factor, and so was the 3rd ARC-V watch (this is where I started uncovering most of the easter eggs I know about the show, so perhaps the build-up made me a touch biased over time, but I genuinely found the 136-139 marathon more entertaining than annoying for once. We speak not of 140).

TL;DR: I think the lettuce clown is neat. Past me would have a stroke if I told her I'm a Zarc apologist now tho.

Sawatari is actually the one surprise in this list to me because, huh, I didn't realize how much I liked him over other nearly as cool characters until I put them side by side and pondered who brings me more joy when on-screen. I thought 3rd place would be someone like Yuugo, maybe Serena, but it seems I've taken a spontaneous shine to the banana peel?

See, Shingo's character may be on the simpler side by virtue of being the... designated comic relief, but that simplicity is part of his charm! The mix of charismatic and pathetic aura is a also rare thing, you know- It's not easy to be so cool and cringe at the same time and make it feel natural. That takes skill.

And speaking of skill, Shingo has my respect for always putting up a good fight, even in the games he loses to all sorts of jobber bullshit. He's a genuinely good duelist and a great entertainer, and I love that for him!

Guesstimate: Around a thousand. I've been around the fandom long enough to read all sorts of fics on ff.net and Ao3 (among other sites), and it sure feels like I've seen a lot, looking back.

Actual number: Approximately 600, rounding down. On Ao3 alone. Huh, I was expecting the number to be like, 200, so this is not too far off, actually! Maybe the reason the fic count feels higher than it is because the memorable reads tend to be REALLY long multichapters. Why are these so common in the ARC-V tag, by the way? Is it the allure of crossovers? The canon divergence AUs?

(The answer is both, and a few other factors as well. Good for us, I say! Longfics are a serious test of commitment, and I'm glad to see and follow so many talented and dedicated authors!)

heyy, you probably received asks like this before but i really need to let this out somewhere D: i have these VeryStrongFeelings™ about two characters and i just. don't know if i'm hearted or kin with them; i feel like neither really describes it. maybe it's just the autism lol, but even tho they're not me 100% they have a lot of impact in how i view my own identity; i'm not them but i also am.

if i had to make an image of myself in my head, i'd imagine them first. like a faceclaim, ig— physically, they are more me than i am. there's also the strong connection i have with those dudes, we are each other and our "energies" match pretty well but also somehow can be separated. i can refer to them in third person but mentally they are a part of me, my self insert, maybe an alternative version of myself as if this was some sort of sansverse au. however, i feel i just don't fit in the definitions of neither fictionkin or synpath. i feel like i'm both but also neither, in a way. a secret third thing.

Unfortunately, I... don't really have much for you on this one. It sounds like it could easily fit within fictotype to me, but if you feel that doesn't fit, then it doesn't fit. Considering they’re among gods in terms of level of strength, yes, though against other gods that can vary; against humans and visions wielders they usually do have a leg up due to their age and fighting experience.

It’s harder to say with OCs, esp in a fandom it’s like ... I don’t feel like I’m invisible on here with Sylvie and all the people I do write with I do happily and excitedly! So I can’t say they are.

Sylvie is written more in a way to just compliment the ongoing story, I’m not gonna be actively rewriting portions so it’s more like they have their own arc of exploration and such. They’re a part of it but not a driving force?

Character dependent! They would be a friend to the traveller regardless, but like other characters, they’re a part of the journey ... so in a way yes, but no at the same time.

They were as a god for sure, though they faded into obscurity after their ‘death’ and the setting up of the Seven system. Mostly now they’re known for their stupid stunts, taking on dangerous commissions, and probably their loud personality, but it isn’t a super wide-spread reputation.

Sylvie embodies good for the most part and doesn’t quite actively throw themselves into scuffles. At most they’re seen as annoying, loud, reckless, non-law abiding, but there’s no direct tarnishing on their reputation otherwise.

I adhere to canon pretty on point, though due to there being so many gaps in the story and little info, I usually have to fill in some points and pray to god it isn’t retconned later on.

Uhh god that’s hard ... maybe too silly? I’m pretty light-hearted with my exploration and RPs and dash commentaries, and Sylvie prefers to throw quips and jabs on ongoing situations, sometimes throwing themselves into a few but otherwise observing and rarely delving in too deep into serious topics. That’s also dependent on my energy though and the ongoing game content. 

Due to them being a god, perhaps might also offer a bit of a challenge of connecting; Sylvie sees all people as equal, regardless of their species/status, but there is still a disconnect between a person and a god, as well as them not being very open to who they allow deeper than the surface-level connection.

what inspired you to rp your muse ?

Rock hot. I’m kidding MFHDSFHSH that was more in making them in the first place, in terms of picking up RPing them is mostly because I get the best development through tumblr which is why I brought them to here in the first place.

what keeps your inspiration going ?

So many theory posts... the ongoing genshin plot line is my main driving factor for inspiration and for sylvie and I’ve been having fun ripping stuff apart to learn the deeper story.

I do, but very rarely. I haven’t written one in a hot minute cause I usually just prefer exploration through writing with others.

She is a realist first and foremost, and she tends to look for the worst in people so she can steer clear if she catches any bad vibes. Coupled with her Resting Binch Face, a lot of people find her intimidating and mistakenly believe she’s some inverted kindness soul since she isn’t radiating Sunshine Energy 7/24. Trust me, she really is chill even if her default expression is ‘Looks Very Annoyed’. When it comes to difficult people, Lily won’t let anyone walk all over her or her friends and she tries to match the energy of whoever she’s talking with. If they’re snarky and mean, she’s snarky and mean. Of course, she’ll be civil at first, but if you continue to be an issue, she’ll drop the act and give it to you straight. No sugarcoating anything. She isn’t physically aggressive by any means, but she can give you one heck of a verbal beatdown if she’s pissed enough. As you may have guessed, Lily’s kindness shows in a slightly different way than others. She is not an anxious but sweet pushover who moms her soul group. Sure, she sorta cares for them, but she isn’t super motherly towards them. The most she can really do is offer advice and maybe a shoulder to cry on if they want, but she never approaches first if she sees someone is upset. They have to come to her. In all honesty, seeing other people upset just makes her feel awkward. She does, one some level, feel obligated to help, but she also feels she can’t do a good enough job with helping. Like she’ll mess it up somehow. Thankfully not everyone wants advice. Sometimes they just want to vent. People need someone to listen to them and she’s...mostly okay with that. Listening is something she can do. Mostly. If it gets Too Much and if she can help it, she’ll push them off to Amelia, which she also feels bad about but... Amelia is better at this than she is. Lily can try if she has to, but Amelia is better at dealing with Emotions(tm). But yeah. She kinda cares for them <3. She may not show it by being affectionate and being sugary sweet, but if you mess with any of them, Lily will be there to give you a cold look and a stern talking to...unless they deserved what was coming to them, then she may just watch. But if you’re being mean to them for no good reason, she’s gonna have a problem. And while Lily can totally come across as scary to outsiders, she really is chill most of the time. She’s headstrong, compassionate, and somewhat protective, but she’s also not a doormat. To sum up, Lily is a polite and somewhat friendly child, capable of genuine kindness when she or someone needs it, but she’s also not afraid to (metaphorically) whack some sense into a binch if she feels it’s necessary.

IDK if anyone else relates but I just wanna share it somewhere & I've gotten the least hate on Tumblr so....

I'm at the point in my journey with gender where I can comfortably say “eh, I dunno what I am but I'm not a girl”.

I started off desperate for a label. I wanted to name it, understand it, see my experience in words. I wanted to say I was genderfluid, then nonbinary, then a transman, then....

I’m masculine and agender. That's all I know. ¿Demiboy? Maybe. ¿Bigender? Maybe. ¿Nonbinary? Definitely.

¿Do I feel masculine? Yea, sort of. I’m a man—my own perception of one, for sure.

¿Do I feel like a genderless void entity floating timelessly in existence, somehow existing inside this weird lil meatsuit powered by an electrified muscle that sort of holds my soul with shapes I don't like that can't capture the endless void that is me? Also yes.

¿Do I have a *set* label for it? No. But I'm okay with that.

I’m me. I’m nonbinary. My pronouns are he/him and they/them, & honestly some other pronouns (xey/xem, fae/faer) kinda make me feel good too.

The only thing I know for sure about my gender is that my feminine energy does not align with what I feel to be woman/girl identity (what I feel in my soul to be woman vs feminine - it's more of a, feminine is not woman, there are masc women & feminine men & androgynous people that mix both, I don't feel woman or girl in my soul but I do feel something feminine & nurturing and creative).

Feminine is a bendy loopy energy that just is, and everyone has a little of it. But woman doesn’t align with me. She/her does not align with me. Honestly I dissociate/depersonalize every single time someone calls me ma’am or refers to me as she/her.

And I’m okay with that.

¿Why is this a big deal?

....I questioned if I was truly cis when I was six years old, fifteen, seventeen, & went ‘nah I love the power swoosh & twirly of dresses & people tell me I'm feminine so I can't be anything but Girl™, Woman™, She/Her™’. I was one of the people who noticed it young & put it off as a problem for another day.

So when I allowed myself to genuinely question, to experiment, to feel gender euphoria....

I was nineteen, going on twenty.

I am now turning twenty-two in less than a month (Nov 19). And it has taken this long to know who I am & be ready for HRT.

I was 19 when I said ‘okay, maybe I need to actually work through this’. I got a therapist and talked about my feelings and presentation and...and she diagnosed gender dysphoria with confidence. And I knew I was right all along. But ¿what, then, was I?

((note - that's not to say everyone needs a diagnosis, or that dysphoria is the only way to know. I was insecure needing validation to really deeply question. A diagnosis set my questioning free. There are other ways to know too 💖.))

I wanted a set label. I wanted something I could throw out to the world, I am me, this is me, please send someone who will accept me.

It took three years to get here.

Three years. And now I feel comfortable saying ‘I don't know the right label, nonbinary is a fuzzy category and I know my perception of gender is affected by my ADHD & autism, but I am comfortable just being me.’

I’m finally here.

It’s self tolerance at the least, but it feels more like self acceptance and self love, or the beginning steps of it.

And I’m so proud.

So for anyone else who felt like I did...

You don't need a label. They probably won't get it anyway.

Be you. Take up space, make that space your own. Present how you want, transition the way you want, command respect, and learn to put your foot down when people don’t “respect” your pronouns & fuzzy identity.

You are already good enough. You are already strong enough, and soft enough. You may not be in a safe place to figure it all out yet, but you’ll get here too.

I am nonbinary. I want he/they.

& the people who love me & respect me won’t demand me to change. I can have grace & acceptance for the time it takes them to learn, & still not tolerate demands for change or simplicity.

I am allowed to have feminine energy without being a girl. I am allowed to have masculine energy without being completely a man. I am allowed to be nonbinary. And so are you.

I am allowed to unbecome what I was forced to be, and become who I wanted to be from the start. You can unbecome who they forced you to be and build a new you too.

So wherever you may be in your self love journey, healing journey, self acceptance journey, & nonbinary journey, know that I see you and you are already valid enough even if they don't see you yet.

When you joined the UAC, it was as a fresh graduate with a fresh degree in bioengineering in tow and an untarnished optimism. You were surprised to have been recruited at all, honestly, chosen specifically by an unknown benefactor for a three month contract on the Mars facility. To your knowledge, the UAC had no need for someone like you; what on earth would a bioengineer be doing amidst a conglomerate like the UAC, after all?

But it all made sense when you found out about the true nature of one of the UAC's most esteemed figures, Samuel Hayden. His body, almost completely cybernetic, requires a particular maintenance that he entrusts to very few others.

That three month contract then became six. Then twelve. Then indefinite.

And now you're on his desk, legs spread wide while he holds something thick and blunt and vibrating against the very peak of your bare cunt.

His head tilts, barely noticeable were it not for the blue visor that now sits slightly askew in your vision. "Powerful, isn't it?" He drawls, voice so deep, so soothing, but somehow still so cold and empty. A low and rumbling, rolling bass as potent as the buzzing of the wand that your boss is keeping pressed to your clit. He leans in closer, the smooth plane of his face stooping low to study your every reaction with careful, scrupulous scrutiny. You're struggling to keep eye contact with him, to keep your gaze on that soft blue LED that serves as his optic sensor - a silent demand you know he wants you to uphold - but your head keeps falling back as you whimper, thighs already quaking with the tremors that tickle and tingle every limb right down to the very tips of your fingers.

"I can't… feel my legs." You manage to say between breathless gasps and muted jerks of your hips towards that infernal little toy of his own make, specifically for you. To your credit, you can't feel much of anything outside of that little motor purr, purr, purring against your body, and you think you're beginning to drool, a thin string of it seeping from the corner of your parted lips as you pant and huff against his face.

He presses it harder against you, and you jolt, arms going rigid, and back arching as you moan to the soft fluorescent lights of his office.

"Answer me." Samuel grips one of your thighs with long, cold fingers, curling them around your entire leg; an effortless task when he's so, so much bigger than you. It's a wonder he's even able to study you as closely as he is when he towers so far over you, his long body bent over your tiny frame perched on his desk. The blue LED of his optics flares as an idle threat, a reminder that you are still under his supervision, his care, even if most of your nights are spent bouncing on his glowing, silicon cock; an attachment he also made just for you, and a rather pointedly off-label use for the Argent Accumulator that powers his systems. But one that he enjoys as much as you do, even if he isn't quite as noisy about it as you are. You're not even certain he even feels pleasure the way humans do anymore, but you have noticed he does hum and sometimes even groans whenever you cum, whether it be in time with his release of artificial semen, or because of it.

"It is–" You gulp down a breath of air, wet your lips with a swipe of your tongue that Samuel watches with an endless fascination. He doesn't press anything on the bulbous device in his large hand, doesn't even move (which tells you he is directly interfaced with it, the conniving bastard), but the motor responds, pattern changing from a static vibration to a repeating, rising crescendo. Your hips buck, pressing harder into the vibrator to chase each peak in its pattern before it falls away again, rocking now to a rhythm of his making. You pinch your lower lip between your teeth, not to stifle your mewls, but to provoke him with a playful smile up through your eyelashes.

You feel his hand squeeze around your thigh tighter when you do. He does so love the show that you always put on for him, and you have yet to disappoint with your open blouse and pencil skirt bunched up around your waist. The crotchless stockings were admittedly a surprise, but he'd remained placid even when you spread your legs to reveal your already dripping cunt. Of course, with no real facial features, just one single optic lens through which he sees, that isn't much of a feat.

"Is that all?" Even though you're breathless, your words are biting; sharp fangs denting his pride. In fact, you've jostled a few of his more delicate components in exactly that way before. He had to grab a handful of your hair to force your head back before you punctured anything. If nothing else, at least that was a flaw in his design that he was able to fix. Samuel looks back up at you, assessing the tightness of your expression, your vital signs beginning to spike... you are bluffing, but you are good at it. And even better at getting under his skin, prying into his arrogance to pull it apart one wire at a time. Even now, you've placed a gentle hand upon the one holding the buzzing toy against your clit, fingers easing their way into all of his little nooks. "I've bought thirty dollar wands that offered me more than this. Is this all your precious Argent Energy can do?"

The silence between you, save for the constant droning of the toy in his hands, the hum of the air filters, stretches on and on in a wordless standoff. It reaches a fever pitch, culminating in the device being tossed aside, and the hand that grips your thigh unceremoniously, and with an effortless ease, flips you over so you're now pressed flat against the smooth metal of his desk. A hand presses into the center of your back, and though you can't see it, you hear something click into place, followed by a gentle hiss of hydraulics.

Samuel leans down, the flawless plane of his face hovering right by your ear as he rasps. Almost a purr, were it not for the cutting edge in his tone. "Perhaps a demonstration then?"

With your cheek pressed against the desk, you can only laugh, giddy, as he lines himself up.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?

I’ve actually been trying to start rping on tumblr for 2-3 years, but it is extremely intimidating, and canon characters are intimidating for me as a strictly original creation roleplayer. Also, because I’m a writer in my spare time, every time I try to make non-fandom ocs, I end up making novel WIPs instead.

Due to all that, I decided to roleplay in a fandom, and Transformers is really the only fandom I would say I’m actually in.

I think I already went over Nitroxide’s origins as part of a combiner team and how the idea was scrapped. Originally, the blog was only going to be Nanostorm, but Nitroxide would not leave and basically just started yanking me down a backstory pathway and building herself directly into the main verse lore.

Honestly, characters just build themselves all the time and then drag me wherever they want to go. 

WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?  

I think it is the combination of the angst I know is lurking around for Nitroxide constantly, but also the concept that she embodies: someone who has been through multiple terrible situations and lost her friends/family (and literal pieces of herself), but still keeps moving forward and wants to help others find their place and peace, and finds her own contentment in doing so.

Also, I like her interactions with my other muses.

My blog is canon-divergent and experimental; I kind of expect there to be disagreement, so it depends on why they disagree with it. Though, I’d find it weird if they were disagreeing about headcanon for a muse (like Nitroxide) as compared to a headcanon for a concept (like spark-emergence).

If they just don’t like it because they don’t like it, I don’t really want to hear about it. I dislike headcanons just because I dislike them too sometimes; I’m not going to inform the creator about it.

If they dislike it, but have an idea about it, then I might be interested in hearing, but that doesn’t mean I’ll use it. I’m just a curious person.

IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?

I would be a very confused mun.

[I don’t always agree with my own portrayal (lol), but its mostly because the characters aren’t being exercised enough to settle in. All my character go through that stage, so I’m used to that.]

IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?

I’m not entirely sure, so have these jumbled thoughts:

Performative hatred and trolling is extremely rude to creators and hurts our rp communities.

If you like one muse but hate another, blacklisting related tags is an option.

If something about a muse is triggering you, I stand-by my continued offer to tag triggers.

ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?  

Depends how they word it and what it is.

I reread my post before and after I post, and I correct errors when I see them.

My errors are usually homophones (i.e.: pale vs pail), tense switches, or a case where I think I know the word I want (but it’s actually not the right word at all).

I naturally write in past tense when writing characters; writing present tense feels unnatural, but I try to match tenses with my partner because not doing it causes me a headache.

I generally ask for patience because I’m usually on here while sleep-deprived or freshly off shift with my brain running on fumes or mushed.

DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?  

I’m probably overly easy going as a Mun; I’m a big softie that’s tired, excessively patient, and just vibing most of the time.

However, I’m not sure that I come off as approachable as I want to be/am. I feel like I’m hard to chat with because I’m kind of awkward and more a listener; I’m still wrapping my brain around the fact I’m not bothering y’all by reaching out to you. Also, it takes me a long time to warm up to others, but I don’t shut up once I do.

I still don’t really know what I’m doing. It’ll probably take me another year to get the actual hang of using tumblr for rp. Any pointers are appreciated.

If I’m not replying to a thread/IM/ask/tag, I’m probably trying to think of what to say, or distracted/busy. My memory is also a little poor and I multi-task way too much, so I might have opened the notification and then forgot.  Potentially, it’s lost in my drafts because they’re a mess.

I don’t trust tumblr’s notification system lately; you’re welcome to IM if it’s been more than 3 weeks and I’m not on a hiatus. 

If I’m not feeling well (for various reasons), I usually take a little break from threads; I still answer tags and asks while taking a break and appreciate chatting/plotting.

Don’t feel like you need to rush a reply back for threads/asks/tags. I once waited a year for a reply to come back; I had to do some rereading, but picked it back up like there was no break.
