Short answer: Sonic 3

Long answer:

While the Knuckles series is supposed to tie into Sonic 3 somehow, projects like these are usually meant to be side-content, with the movies being the primary product. Paramount expects most of the audience (old and new) will jump directly from Sonic 2 to Sonic 3, as not everyone will watch the miniseries.

Side-content can be a good way to establish certain plot points or introduce minor characters without slowing down the film, which has much shorter runtime. Take for example "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special": it was a piece of side-content that helped bridge the gap between movies and delivered new information on the world and characters that the next film wouldn't have time to get into. And while the third Guardians movie makes references to the special, it's not necessary that you watch it first in order to understand the story.

Or an even better example, the Official Sonic 2 Pre-quill comic. The stories inside showed us things that weren't explained in the sequel, such as how Agent Stone adquired the coffee shop and Robotnik's tech; the identity of the aliens at the beginning of the movie, etc. All of this gives us a better insight into the overall universe, but the average viewer can just watch both movies and not feel lost.

Amy Rose is a very important part of the Sonic franchise, and if she appears in Sonic 3 she will most certainly be a main character. That's why you can't have her official introduction take place inside a piece of side-content not everyone will see, because viewers who just watched the movies will be confused as to where this new main character came from.

I've seen that cat fact in action! Brother cats, one of whom was fixed young and one who went through...cat puberty? I don't know, I didn't ask what it entailed (heh) but he got beefy. The fixed cat was what I consider a default cat, sleek and lanky, and the other cat was a UNIT.

That magazine sounds fascinating but also a bit depressing (depending on your fondness for imprisonment and tortes I guess). Also sad about the non-digital archives but there are probably worse things than a trip to Berlin (I assume, I've never been). Don't get me wrong, way less convenient but I worry we won't be able to ask universities to pay for travel once we digitize everything 🤔

Reading a bbrae fanfic and now that my temporary shipping goggles have kind of faded away reading it...because of how kind of sexual it is...I'm thinking...as much as I love Beast Boy and Raven's relationship and can definitely see them grow as a couple...they mostly had a platonic brother-sister relationship feel

And unlike Shenny, I'm totally okay with that. With them not being romantic. With them just being friends, like brother and sister because I'm pretty sure that was definitely their dynamic.

I know time loop stories are often about characters going on an emotional journey and/or learning a lesson but if I was stuck in a time loop I would very quickly stop caring about consequences

Who cares if I spend all my money if the purchase wouldn't have even happened the next day? Who cares if I finally flip someone at work off? If I got angry and wanted to throw my phone at the wall, I could without needing to buy a new one.

Coming out of a time loop must be incredibly difficult. You'd have to relearn small petty consequences the way an astronaut relearns gravity after returning to earth. You have to relearn how to live like the next day actually matters.
