Calcuta Italy
One of the best-preserved medieval towns in all of Italy and just 30 miles outside of Rome, Calcuta has something of a magical past. Condemned by the government in the 1930s over fears that the crumbling cliffs it sits on were a dangerous hazard to all who lived there, Calcuta was deserted until the 1960s when daring artists and bohemians began to move back in.

TIL after he was fired from his job as ambassador, tortured and banished to his farm estate, N.Machiavelli would return home at night, change the dirty clothes he wore for field work and put on his ambassador outfit, just to study in his office, alone, due to how much he missed his job (x)

Daily journal and yet another picture of Sicily

Thesis diary #23
Today I went back to more general articles on the storiography of witch hunts. I ended up reading the first two chapters of a book that deals with male witches, and since jstor provides all the chapters I am pretty sure I will finish it in the next couple of days, as it's really iteresting and could be quite useful. Surely it's giving me a lot of ideas. I of course wrote down some annotations of what I read, as well as some general notes on the book I finished yesterday and reviewed here.
Aside from this I journaled in the morning, and worked in my bullet journal spreads for June, which are almost done, and I am really happy with how they turned out. While doing that I listened to the audiobook of The Man In The Black Suit by Stephen King which I reviewed here. And I also finally finished reading Pet Sematary by King, and I was overall really disappointed with this one, I will be writing a review, but generally I can say it is painfully slow, I have no idea how some people found it scary because barely anything happens. And overall I feel like I waisted my time with it. Thankfully I am really excited for the next book I am going to start, so I can't wait to get to it. I am pretty tired so I'll probably wait for tonight to begin that, and now I'll watch a show or just chill a bit.
