19 years ago on the Ides of March I took @vickiknits to my favorite beach in Northern California and proposed marriage. We had met the month before at a trade show in Dallas, and a week later enjoyed our first picnic date on Mount Diablo following the tracks of a mountain lion to the top. She said yes, and three months later we were married in Indiana on her parents wedding anniversary, the day after the celebration of their 50th, and the day that would have been my grandmother’s 102nd birthday. Two months later I took her to Burning Man and we have been together ever since. Yesterday we enjoyed the first day of clear skies, sun and warmth this year, and another picnic on a favorite beach.
