•Rosie and you have been dating for a while, and it wasn’t her idea to sneak your relationship around, she takes pride in everything she does, the idea was yours. You didn’t want some sinners stalking you and or hurting you because you’re dating an overlord. Just not the way you want to live down there. But you also didn’t want to not see your girlfriend either. So it become a nightly thing that you would sneak off to Rosie’s shop were she also happens to live. So sneaking up to her room was no big deal,

“Sweetie!, how’ve you been doll” she grasped you in a big hug smothering you with her love and affection, she guided you to the couch and sat you down, “oh you know the usual nothing big but nothin to small” she giggled at you joke, your guys relationship was still like you were best friends but now with intimate nights and puppy kisses.  

Going out and about was surely no problem she just couldn’t hold you in anyway or kiss you either which, really bugged her. She wanted to show you off as her partner take pride in who she has to herself. But she understood why you didn’t want to tell anyone, she’s offered you endless of protection from her. But you simply just decline every time saying “it’s to much work for you” which bugged her even more that you thought she wouldn’t do anything to keep you safe.

“Darling” Rosie put her hand on your shoulder, “I want us to be public, please doll.” Your eyes went wide knowing this is what she always wanted “I-i Rosie you know why it can’t be-“ she cut you off “no this is what you thought would be best. Sweetie I would always protect you even in your dreams” she tucked your hair behind you ear “please, I want everyone to know” you couldn’t help but give in to her sweet tone “okay…okay fine. I guess I was over reacting a little” she gave you a peck on the cheek 

She was really happy with you decision and let’s be clear you were too, after being public for a while everyone adore your relationship. And you can’t argue any more your relationship WAS pretty great

Velvette

See velvette didn’t like the fact you had to sneak out just to see her, you lived at the hazbin hotel. Let’s just say a certain red radio demon prohibited you too be seen with any of the vees.

Not only were you pissed Alastor set rules like he was your father but, everyone already knew you and velvette were a thing. 

Velvette offered you to stay at the vees with her. And leave that ragged bitchy place. You thought about it, and I mean THOUGHT but Charlie always begged and she and you had became close and you couldn’t do that to a friend 

So that’s when it lead you too, climbing out your window on the 2 story and falling hurting you ass as you landed just to sneak off and see you precious girlfriend. 

At some point when you got the her room she had sat you down on her bed to have a serious talk to you, “baby cakes, you need to set boundaries with them. I’m tired of not being able to go on public dates with you and only seeing you at night.” It was true the only time you saw her was at night, she had placed her hands on the inners of your thighs, “please sugar for me~” she teased 

Ugh it was so hard to not say no to her. “I-I I’ll try but I can’t promise anything vel” she nodded and moved her hand to your neck softly grasping it pulling you close to her face “fine fine just..as long as I see you more” you giggled as she finally kissed you. You guys spent the rest of the night watching cheesy romance movies crying when the character died and the other was left heartbroken.

Eventually you had to go back, you went your usual route, passing through Pervy sinners and cracked up whores you made it to the hotel. But before you could go to your window Alastor pulled you inside setting you down in front of a worried Charlie, “where have you been! We went to invite you to a dinner but you weren’t anywhere in the hotel” Charlie seemed sickly worried, you couldn’t help but feel a little sorry.

“Look Charlie, I have a girlfriend and I’m not allowed to see her because YOU set a rule that we’re not allowed to see anyone from the vees which it just fucking stupid.” You pointed to Alastor waving your finger around as you do so. “I want to set boundaries. I’m allowed to see my girlfriend.” You rub your templates Charlie spoke up “I get it. I mean I would be hurt if I wasn’t able to see vaggie,” she looked at Vaggie placing her hand around her waist “here how about, you can see your girlfriend as long as you don’t take there side?” You looked up at her a bright smile posted on your face 

“OMG thank you thank you thank you!! HA! Suck that you strawberry looking ass!” You said to Alastor flipping him the bird before running to your girlfriend’s place. 

Let’s just say life with vel after being able to see her every day was never boring.

Carmilla

Let’s say one thing she was the one who wanted it to be private. One to keep you safe and Two she likes things to be private and not having someone being in the middle of your relationship.

I wouldn’t consider you having to sneak out to see her, more of a be more aware when you coming over thing. She likes the time she has with you so she savours it all, ever. Last. Drop off it. 

I like too see Carmilla as a bubble bath girl, she likes taking bubble baths with you. Not only so you get alone time without some weirdos trying to see you guys “hanging out”. But also she likes to see your hair wet and it’s a plus that she likes to wash your body. I mean the girl has two daughters.

It took a lot of convincing to let your relationship go public. She’s always tell you why? You would explain why and she would just brush it off saying she was sorry and that she doesn’t want anything happening to you. 

“Baby please. I wanna be able to hold your hand in public” you grabbed your lovers arm and looked her in the eyes, “I know mi amor I know, I just I don’t know if we can” you look away from her face “will we ever.” You mouth spoke the truth. It wasn’t like you didn’t get to see her, but you wanted things to be like that even out of private spaces. She cupped your face “mi amor of course it will, but just not right now.” I couldn’t help but just nod you trusted her.

Sooner than later a year into your relationship, Carmilla took your hand while you guys were walking to the meeting. Your eyes went big as she held it tight every demon looking at you guys with wide mouths and eyes that were popping out of there eyes 

“C-Carmilla” she looked down at you a eyebrow rising, “yes mi amor, is there a problem” you just smiled and shook your head “no not at all” after that day you guys kept most stuff private but now people knew that you guys were dating.

Goldenheart headcanons for when they have only started dating and were awkward as hell

(because I am a trans bi teenager who wants to experience mlm love yet can't because I'm afraid to date boys due to my dysphoria)

I noticed you people like when I make long posts like these and I love them too so I think I can share some hcs of mine about this stage of their relationship bc I have a lot honestly :]

- they started dating when they were around 16yo

- none of them actually had feelings for each other before puberty hit and they were like "damn my bestie is kinda fine- WHAT"

- Bal fell first. Ambrosius fell and broke the floor under him bc boyyyy did he fall HARD

- Bal navigated his feelings like "Ugh okay I guess that's what happens when you're friends with a handsome guy everyone has a crush on. That'll pass. That's part of puberty. Stay calm" meanwhile Ambrosius screamed in his pillow and freaked out and cried only to pretend nothing bothered him. It was hard to pretend when you literally study at the same academia/school/whatever and see each other every day bc you're best friends

- during the mutual pining era the PE lessons were DIFFICULT. Especially when they were put up against each other

- they look like friends who had no problem hugging/brushing each other's hair/being close physically in general yet when the feelings appeared, the things which used to be very easy turned torturous

- Ballister was the one to ask if Ambrosius saw that their friendship changed. Ambrosius couldn't hold it in anymore and mumbled through his confession so fast and awkward Ballister has only understood phrases like "I really like you" and "romantically I mean" and "you're very cool and that'd be sick if we became boyfriends"

- Bal turned his face to the side and muttered something like "yeah I think it would"

- and so they became boyfriends!!

- has something changed in the way they behaved around each other? Yeah but also not really. They were still besties and the physical contact became A LITTLE easier now that the sorta relationship they had was clear between them, but they just couldn't help but blush while touching each other

- their first kiss was a mess dude😭😭

- Ambrosius wanted it to go as smoothly as possible so he watched romantic movies and practiced kissing with his hand (embarrassing? Yeah I now) but when it was time to finally show off his skills he panicked and pressed his lips to Ballister's for a few seconds then his nose almost bled out bc of the nerves (not me projecting on Ambrosius but that's literally what happened to me when I had my first kiss)

- Ballister seemed calm about this whole thing but it doesn't mean he was. When they had their first ever date he brushed his teeth extra clear just to make sure he'd smell good during their first kiss. Bro was THRILLED

- basically Ambrosius was overthinking this and Ballister was... Also overthinking I'M SORRY THESE TWO ARE HORRIBLE

Now the headcanons are for the time when they've been dating for like more than a few months and have kinda got used to each other in this new ~romantic~ way

- Bal's way of flirting wasn't really obvious since he doesn't look like a guy who can come up with romantic compliments on the spot, however I think he touched Ambrosius if he wanted to express his feelings for him. Stroke his bleach-damaged hair, make their pinkies intertwine, put his head on his shoulder and nuzzle into him - this or he'd infodump new history/physics/chemistry facts he learnt

Bal: Okay, did you know that [some really complicated science stuff I cannot describe in words because I'm a literature major]

Ambrosius, heart-eyed, no clue what he's talking about: Wow that's really interesting anyways do you want me to change my surname to Boldheart-

- Ambrosius looks like a total theatre kid so I think he often flirted with Bal by quoting some love poems they had in their curriculum. Of course he quoted their analogue of Romeo's monologue under Juliet's balcony why do you think he wouldn't

- Having said that, whenever he quoted something which referred to a woman, he changed pronouns and general words bc he's attentive like that. Sometimes it got absurd tho. "Manservant of the moon" instead of "maid" like dude😭😭😭😭

- Ballister tried his best not to laugh but also not to pass out bcuz of the amount of praise his boyfriend gave him which was actually a lot. My man is as much of a mess as Ambrosius is let's not forget that

- one day Ambrosius quoted something which was not from the curriculum but instead from Bal's favorite book. I think Bal liked adventure books about knights which sometimes included romance and I imagine the dialogue going:

Ambrosius: "And even if I had to turn against the whole world to follow you-

Them together: "-I would do it with no hesitation-"

Ambrosius: "Because you are my world, Sir Redsword"

Them: *staring at each other*

Bal, all blushing: ...that's not from the books our teacher told us to read

Ambrosius, also blushing madly: Yeah but I figured I like some variety

- That's when Bal knew this guy was his forever soulmate

- Bal used to be taller than Ambrosius for a long time of their early years but then Ambrosius got late height boost or idk how it's called. Basically dude went from 5'5 to 6'1 overnight and I know Ballister was PISSED

- these two totally kissed in the janitor's closet when they needed some privacy I'm telling you (not even in a "steamy" way although I think some sort of tension existed - cmon they were late teens bro do you really think puberty is nice to teenagers???).

- why would you get a private space where you can explore this side of your relationship safely when you can have a literal closet with racks and mops and buckets, am I right

- Ambrosius tried writing poems for Ballister they SUCKED

- Ballister still saved each and one of them. One day, he'll sort through his things to move to his own place after the wall comes down and find these yellow checkered sheets of paper, full of bad rhymes and silly words. He'd bring all of them to his (and Ambrosius's) new apartment

Okay now the last hcs which I honestly have no idea how to call but umm ✨what people around them thought about their blooming romance✨

- Queen Valerin understood something was up on the spot. Like, for a straight woman, her gaydar worked flawlessly😭 it was enough for her to see them hide the fact that they held hands to go "I know what you are". She was pretty supportive although she did ask Bal on their one-to-one meeting to "use protection" like all moms do🖐

- The Director also knew something was up but her reaction was more like "Sir Ambrosius will grow out of it". As you know, he never did LMAOO

- Todd was hilariously oblivious despite teasing Ambrosius like "HAHA LOLLLL GOLDENLOIN WHY R U ALWAYS WITH THIS COMMONER GUY ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH HIM OR SOMETHING". He did it in a cishetero "haha gotta mock my homie for being gay" yet DID NOT REALIZE his homie was, indeed, gay

- some cadets could pick up on it, some didn't

- anyway I think the general public knew nothing about it bc if they did that'd be a scandal worse than Henry the 8th's when he created a new religion bc his loins were on fire thanks to Anne Boleyn

A/N: don’t ask me about the timeline 👀. I had an idea, I wrote an idea. canon? don’t know her.

Fox sat cross-legged in the doorway of the hangar, occasionally sliding one shiny, white boot beyond the border to watch the rain slide down towards his ankle. It was his last day looking out over the eternal ocean, and he thought he’d be more excited to put some distance between himself and the stark white halls.

“Hey, stop looking like that, or they’ll give you another psych eval,” Wolffe said, sliding into place next to him, crowding into his space like he always did.

Twins, Nala Se had called them. And they’d lived up to it every step of the way. Always together, in sync, seamlessly solving any problem often without words. But their assignments had come down, and for the first time in a decade 1010 would be spoken of independently of 3636.

It put a weird pit in Fox’s stomach that he didn’t appreciate. It wasn’t suitable for a soldier to feel this undercurrent of fear, but he couldn’t shake it. Who would have his brother’s back like he would? Who would look after any of his idiot little brothers? It was his duty to do so, and he felt like a failure.

“That’s just my face, vod,” he replied with a half-hearted smirk.

“Our face,” Wolffe replied with a grin, nudging his brother’s shoulder. “Come on, tell me why you look like that? I thought you’d be thrilled. Triple Kriffing Zero.”

“I am. I’ve wanted to see it since training, but,” he hesitated, his fears and insecurities piling up behind his teeth like an avalanche. He swallowed hard and shook head. “It’s nothing. Just weird thinking about being around so many politicians.”

“You’ll be fine. In fact, you’re the only one who’d be fine. Can you imagine Neyo?”

They both paused a moment before bursting into laughter. They were still clutching their sides when another clone slid into their space.

“Been lookin’ for you two,” Bly said, scooting into Wolffe’s side, and immediately sticking his legs out in front of him and watching the rain slide down.

“Why? Did someone give Cody a sniper rifle again?” Fox asked with a raised brow.

“Nah, nothin’ crazy like that. Just wanted one more meal in the mess hall before Fox left…” Bly said, clearing his throat.

Fox felt the lump form in his throat and he bit the inside of his cheek until it passed.

“Let’s go then while it’s still an acceptable temperature,” Fox said, rising from the floor and holding his hands out to hoist his brothers to their feet.

“It’s never an acceptable temperature,” Wolffe said, scrunching up his face, as the three of them made their way to the mess hall one last time.

gwen was never exactly NOT popular.

in fact, she was the one who pushed others away. she had seen enough movies (and the lives of her peers) too many times to fall victim to an oversized social circle.

treading carefully, she only kept a mere few in her school life. but of course, when you came along, gwen couldn't shut you out.

you just appeared in school one day, earning a few whispers here and there and falling naturally into the classroom environment. it seemed this wasn't the first (or last) time you transferred.

you were quiet, mostly, listening to class lectures and jotting down notes in your designated grade 7 chemistry notebook.

someone even called you a weirdo at the table gwen was sitting at.

gwen likes weirdos, even if they aren't really weirdos at all.

the thing about you that caught gwen's eye was your expressiveness. sure, you didn't talk much, but your face spoke for you.

like, when someone made a fool of themselves to impress the class, your lips curled with annoyance and your eyes rolled.

or maybe when the teacher fumbled her words and said something inappropriate, your shoulders relaxed a bit and you let a small grin stretch across your lips.

as gwen observed you across class, missing half of the presentations every day, she decided to make a move at lunch.

after cautious introductions that gradually shifted into music debates and ugly laughs, gwen let you in through the cracks of her stone walls.

her favorite part about the conversation was the way you didn't make a big deal about her appearance. her face was ghostly pale, and her deep bluish-green hair matched her black eyes wonderfully. any other person would have gawked, said she looked sick or like a ghost.

she began to think that if anything, you'd understand that was (part of) the point of her appearance in the first place.

as the school year sped along, you and gwen ended up merging your lives. she lived in the apartment complex across the road from your neighborhood, so she was only a bike ride away. stargazing was her favorite night activity, so you guys were constantly laying down in your background.

her place wasn't the greatest, considering her mom was newly single with two kids. her dad left and moved across the state, paying child support instead of actually visiting. but they made do.

she'd have problems with her family not accepting her, both her gothic nature and her eccentric personality and beliefs; but the love in the house was always there. gwen was bold and clear with what she wanted, and you liked that about her.

she was a breath of fresh air.of course, she could only think the same of you. you didn't stare at her, you gazed. you didn't hear her, you listened. you weren't nice to her, you were kind. you weren't snarky, you were clever.

a treasure like you can only mean friendship to her for so long.

friendly feelings only lasted a few weeks.

but she's gwen, so she didn't change anything after the afternoon she realized she loved you when she saw you in the clouds where her brother saw a tree.

she stayed that way, frozen in time while you packed your bags for the third year in a row to move. just like her dad.

so you left town, but you didn't really leave town because you still haunted gwen every night she stayed up until 2 in the morning, squinting her eyes shut as they stung with tears.

she'd lost the one person who knew everything she was going through.

but life goes on, and gwen is a friend of the dark, so she let the last bittersweet remnants of you ebb away from her mind and instead turned into her own thoughts once more.

high school was hard; not just the math but the people, too. she loved again, but never as hard as she loved you. sometimes she wondered if you were struggling the same way.

then suddenly, she didn't have to wonder anymore, because there you were on this stupid fucking show. she'd only auditioned to try to bring some money back home. she didn't sign up to see her first heartbreak, even if it wasn't your fault.

she wasn't going to ice you out, but she'd be lying if she said it wouldn't be awkward for her. she was wrong, though; the coldness melted instantly the second she heard your laugh.

it wasn't hard for you to recognize her. she had grown quite a bit taller and her face had sharpened with maturity, but her eyes were the same hypnotizing black depths. she had ditched her shoulder-length hair for a blunt bob. it suited her.

after the camp had settled down, you and gwen began to reconnect. her language was even fouler than you remembered; it was a relief to see her fundamentals hadn't changed. you even told her this, and for a second it looked like some color flushed her face. just for once.

the two of you discussed past relationships, and to your surprise she mentioned only two people. you suddenly regretted moving on and leaving the love you had for her to die.

yet you realized: your love had never been dead. just hibernating.

you wondered if you ever had a place in her heart the same way her exes had been.

"(y/n), remember when we used to stargaze in your backyard?" she asked one night after the marshmallow ceremony. you had narrowly avoided elimination this week. gwen thought this was as good a time as ever to make her move.

"yeah, how could i forget? you're such an astrology geek that you forced me to memorize constellations," you teased, looking up at the sky and remembering the cool grass beneath your thighs.

"shut up, you had fun."

"i did," you smiled at her, wondering if she was aware of the tangible atmosphere between you two. "why do you ask?"

"sometimes, before i came onto the show, i would watch the stars and wonder if you were doing the same," she whispered, stripping her gaze away to look at you.

your cheeks warmed hotter than the sticky night air as your eyes locked. "i did," you murmured back. "i never really got you out of my head, gwen."

she simply smiled, her deep blue lipstick darker than the inky clouds. your hands brushed, then intertwined.

she leaned on your shoulder, and internally you swore you'd never lose her again as both of your heads craned back upward at the cosmos.

you didn't even care to think what this made the two of you.

even the bears left you both alone that night.

Nothing unusual happens until a month later. He's at home in the apartment, thankfully, lying in bed when he can't stand the feel of even the silk sheets against his skin, collapsing to his knees as he feels the change begin to violently reshape his body.

He's used to worse pain, and the change in his senses doesn't vary much from usual, but being aware that his body has morphed really freaks him out.

The first thing in his thoughts is you. But as usual, he hides this little 'problem' from you and his friends, thinking he'll deal with it on his own somehow. He doesn't want to scare you or have you worrying even more on top of the fact that you know already that he's Daredevil.

He chains himself in the crypt of the church during the full moons, locking the iron gate to the stairs and waiting for the first agonising clicks and crunches of his bones shifting. And as his bad(?) luck would have it you're worried when he's regularly disappearing on you, giving different excuses every time to avoid being with you. So naturally, you're suspicious, in the far reaches of the back of your mind maybe even worried Matt could be cheating on you.

So you follow him one evening, he's too distracted with the itching feeling under his skin to pick up on you tailing him, and you watch it all happen with wide eyes and worry rather than fear.

When its done and he sees you reach through the bars of the locked gate to touch him. He almost shys away, but he can't, not when it's you.

He's soooo big now, making you feel even more powerless but nonetheless, you turn the key and step into the crypt before him.

His eyes are still the same, clear and unseeing, flitting around as he quietly marvels at just how unbothered you are with the way he must appear.

You're stroking his fur, digging your fingertips through the thickness of it, and god, it feels good.

"You like that, Matty?" You're asking him with your sweet tone, as if you can't hear the way he's almost whining and purring so deeply from his broad chest.

You snuggle into him closer, and he leans down, hearing a quiet moan from you as he gently licks your neck. It distracts him from his plight. Trans Masc Naoto Shirogane (my take)

Hi I’m finally getting around to finishing persona 4 golden and I need people to understand that I love Naoto so much. (my multi fandom is showing)

I also need people to understand that while yes, the game states that Naoto isn’t trans and is content with being a girl, Naoto’s story still resonates with trans people and arguably makes more sense if he were trans.

Naoto isn’t trans in canon, but there’s substantial evidence for people to see him as such.

So I’m gonna rant abt it a little

- “Seeing Naoto as trans is MORE harmful than Naoto being a girl”

The point being brought up here is that those who hc Naoto as trans are forcing this identity on him, just as transphobic people do onto others.

The main flaw with this is that Naoto isn’t a real person. No one is “forcing” a gender identity because they can’t. They’re not real. This would only be valid if in canon there was a character who forced Naoto to present as male, but there isn’t.

- “Saying Naoto is trans is like saying Mulan is trans”

Mulan dressed up as a man to protect her father, a clear reaction to the situation at hand. Naoto chooses to present as male in every aspect of his life ever since he was young. Naoto’s mother was a renowned detective as well, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for Naoto to be completely convinced he has to be a man in order to be a detective.

- The workplace sexism topic isn’t handled well

While I won’t deny that sexism in the workplace is a problem, the game barely highlights this. The only part we see of Naoto being discriminated against is because he’s young. The game tries to explain an issue that it never shows, there’s no evidence to the audience that Naoto would’ve been treated any differently had he present as female.

Naoto’s family is also said to be a long line of renowned detectives, some of which have had to be female.

Naoto’s shadow talks about how he’s lonely and just a child. He also says that he’ll “never cross the line between the two sexes” the shadows say the fears and inner thoughts of a person.

If Naoto’s story had been more focused on workplace discrimination, his shadow would’ve said something like “I don’t want to be a boy” implying that his expression as a boy is unwanted but forced because of workplace discrimination.

It isn’t though, it focuses on Naoto’s insecurities about never being able to change the fact he was born a woman, something that’s very similar to the trans experience.

- Naoto’s character arc is based around self acceptance, this can work for the trans hc and canon

While in the game it’s displayed as Naoto coming to terms that he doesn’t need to be a boy, and it’s okay for him to be a girl regardless of his occupation, this can work just as well (if not more) for the trans hc.

Naoto’s self acceptance can be presented as “I don’t have to medically transition/be born a boy in order to be a boy”

This could also explain Naoto’s apparent fear about gender reassignment surgery with how it’s presented with his shadow.

- “Naoto being trans would be sending the message that you can just transition to avoid systemic discrimination”

Crazily enough, trans people also face discrimination in the workplace. And this is also assuming Naoto’s arc would be about a character transitioning for convenience when obviously there’s a lot more to that to transitioning.

- Naoto doesn’t mind when people see him as a boy, even when in canon he identifies as a woman

This implies some kind of non-negative view of him being a boy, this implies that he doesn’t just do it to be not discriminated in the workplace, it’s part of him and his identity.

edit: I think it’s important to point out that it’s not wrong to perceive Naoto as a woman, as that’s what the persona 4 canon is, but the point is to rather justify the interpretations of Naoto as a transman and debunk common statements made against the hc

Like, i get it that people can be frustrated that something they really like on a character, (ie. Glasses on Imogen) is not canon, and i get making shitposts about it or venting for whatever reason

The problem lies when people make a whole thread about how a player doesn't know their character and their canon decisions are bad somehow? And it's not like Laura hasn't acknowledged the glasses hc, she has several times in th show, she just doesn't share that canon for whatever reason she might have

It's a big problem with actual play podcasts that the viewers take away from the player's agency to play their own canon, CR has a big breach between the audience and the players, plus the fact that they are professional actors, so viewer opinions rarely influence the characters in a meaningful way. But MAN is it frustrating to see

So I agree with much but not all of this. Because here's the thing: this is not actually a breach of player agency. Like, to be clear, I think the people doing this sometimes believe that if they're loud and obnoxious enough they'll get what they want, but in the end what this means is that you might notice that the players of any podcast/show that's large enough that they don't rely on Twitter for connections anymore have become really hard to reach on Twitter. Like, no matter how much art people make of Imogen in glasses, in the end, Laura decides, and she can just block people she doesn't like. And frankly, even when Critical Role was live? So much was quietly decided behind the scenes. Like, Taliesin had decided Molly was not a character who could be resurrected from well before Molly's death; no matter how much some sad rando on Twitter screams and cries even to this day, it won't change that.

I think it's okay to wish your fanon were canon - I mean, technically that's all shipping is, right - but I think there's a point where someone with a reasonable relationship to fiction says "man, that sucks that this went in a direction other than the one I wanted" or even "I don't like how this was written/played out" but to say it's objectively incorrect is just...you don't know what's correct! There isn't necessarily an objectively correct answer!

I also think that while Laura creating Imogen as a character who doesn't wear glasses is not an example of this, two of the biggest examples of entitled fans I can think of recently are the current ACOC D20 debacle, and the incredibly misogynist and obnoxious way people talked about Madeleine Roux's Lucien book. The people screaming the loudest have all, truly, been people who created fanon, and who then saw someone else be hired to essentially create sanctioned canon as a collaborator and instead of saying "oh cool! someone else playing in my same space doing their thing" they threw a massive tantrum because the other person had different ideas. It's literally just people who are bad at understanding that other people exist separately from them and have their own feelings and ideas. Coincidentally, people who lack this kind of understanding also tend to come up with really stupid ideas.

Honestly that's kind of the guiding principle behind the vast majority of fandom bullshit:

People want to simultaneously have the scrappy independence and cool fuck-the-man vibes of the underdog [fanon], and the actual power of those in charge [canon]. Obviously, this is impossible. If you realize this you'll be able to strike a balance. You will also understand a lot of real-world political and social dynamics on the micro and macro level.

I keep going to metaphors of early childhood here and some of this is because I have three younger siblings so I've seen (and been a part of) this countless times, and some of it is because truly all of this is full-grown adults acting like the worst kid in preschool who is definitely going to have to repeat it because they are not kindergarten ready but like, the vibe is when a child is not playing with a toy but also if anyone else touches the toy they scream bloody murder.

Anyway though as I said yesterday, yeah it's frustrating because you're watching people who are, as I think I said once, like a dog in a crate where the door is open but they're too fixated on trying to somehow push through the bars to turn around. But also it's a great source of mostly meaningless schadenfreude, because like, I'd feel bad if someone actually had bad things happen to them but if like, a ship doesn't happen, or Imogen doesn't wear glasses? That's just funny and enjoyable. I think an important skill in life is to say "yes it's incredibly annoying how much people are whining about this, but also they didn't get what they wanted, which is very funny."

okay so to me, yuki holds personal choice and her own free will in very high regard. this goes along with the fact that she was supposed to merge with tengen as a spv but ultimately didn't go through with it. as far as i know, it's unclear in canon why she didn't go through with the merger, but i think her own choice to walk away played a major role in it and the higher ups let her do it bc of her technique (and because they're cowards who fear special grade sorcerers but that's another conversation)

in terms of appearance and presentation, i think yuki likes to play around with that sort of stuff. this is why yuki w dark roots/bleached hair is so special to me. i think she gets piercings, and then lets them close up once she's tired of them. i think she gets tattoos, and then maybe gets a few covered up. i think she should get to dye her hair purple and blue and pink and whatever other colors she wants. i think she enjoys buying new clothes and putting outfits together and making herself look how she feels, and her being trans just fits in with that so well. and i think she knew she was trans from a young age, and that solid aspect of her identity was something she could hold onto even as a star plasma vessel who isn't supposed to have a sense of identity, and that was how she knew she wanted to continue living as herself instead of merging with tengen. and along with the clear choices yuki has made concerning her appearance, i also think she doesn't cover up any of the things that are proof she's lived. she doesn't cover up her scars or freckles or moles with makeup. she doesn't shave her arms or legs. because she wasn't supposed to live as long as she has - she was supposed to merge with tengen and lose herself in the process - so everything that is evidence of the life she's lived is a reminder of how far she's come. they're a reminder that she chose to live, and it's a choice she wakes up and makes every day.

i don't think yuki was ever very close to her parents, and she never really had friends at school either. she learned to rely on herself when she was young, so by the time she ended up at jujutsu high, she was already independent. i do, however, think she got along fine with her classmates. but she clashed with the higher ups and most of her teachers quite a bit, and was always labelled as a troublemaker. i also think she had to fight hard to get full acknowledgement as a special grade - a lot harder than gojo and geto, who were basically just given their rankings. i think she had to prove herself several times over before the higher ups finally promoted her to special grade. i also think she was probably the sort of student who would not hesitate to call out the teachers if they were wrong about something, or ask questions that no one else wants to think about the answers to (hence, her going off and doing research on her own after she graduated)

i also think, at some point, she told the higher ups' her intention to study cursed energy and curses and figure out a way to cut off the problem at its source, and they all laughed in her face. i think the higher ups have basically ridiculed/taunted/looked down upon her from the moment she rejected her merger, and there are a lot of rumors spread about her that paint her in a negative light because of it. sometimes, she plays into them just because it gets people to leave her alone. in reality, she can be kind when she wants, but she's also tough and mean and and blunt and doesn't care if she hurts your feelings. she prefers to work alone, but she has a soft spot for people she can see her younger self in - people who are trying to figure out who they are and what their purpose in the world is. i think this is probably why she took in todo and trained him; she saw something in him that reminded her of herself, back when she was desperate for even one other person who understood, and she took on that role of being todo's one person who could understand

anyway this is long already so i'll stop here but. to me, the best yuki is one who shamelessly alive. someone who nearly had her soul taken away from her and now knows how precious it is to be in your own body and make your own choices. she doesn't have time for regret or guilt. she's determined and stubborn. she's powerful, and she isn't afraid to prove it. she's smart, she's strong, she's flawed, and she is herself

We all know that Koko, being the simp king he is, helped Inupi with BD because Inupi smiled to him mentioning he wanted to recreate the gang lmfao. (In the end he accepted to join BD because Taiju knew he was good at making money and Taiju, as we see in the future, is a entrepreneur, at core.)

Which is exactly what happened, but seriously, since at that point Koko was already very into the scam/crime world, I wonder if he was even wondering/guessed that Taiju would become so cruel, yet efficient for the gang. Maybe he realized later that Inupi was that obsessed by the gang (we know koko is aware and tries to tell inupi to let it go, but it doesn't work)

I would have liked to have more insight in the BD arc between Inupi and Koko relationship with Taiju, because, besides the fact we know Inupi accepted Taiju because he was desperate to re-create the gang, and Koko joined for Inupi, we also know that Inupi has no problem at all to leave Taiju the moment he got beated by Mikey/Toman, and it makes perfectly sense since we know that Taiju's BD was not the ideal version of the gang Inupi wanted/remembered.

But we also realize from the last arc that in his own way Taiju cared for his inuneko duo (we know that Taiju had his problems as well)

I've got the idea that yes, Koko didn't really cared much about the gang, he was in just for Inupi. Maybe, paradoxically, he realized Inupi wasn't super happy with Taiju's management, but at the same time they were already in too deep, and as long as Inupi didn't say anything, Koko would tag along

But when Inupi met Takemichi and saw his ideals during the church battlee, I guess Inupi remembered that was not the gang he and Shin would have wanted. And Koko obviously followed him

Yeah, I guess Kisaki knew after talking with Izana a little, and I mean, from what Mucho said, it was clear to everyone how much Koko cared for Inupi and Inupi only. Kisaki is smart, it would use that to his advantage, but I also believe that he and Koko would get along in the first bad toman timeline (where also Takemichi is an executive) and we know they have their own company in the final TL, so i guess they get along. But maybe in manila TL, things are a little different

WIth the Haitani bros/Ran, I admit i wouldn't know what they'dd be capable of. This is a personal HC but I like to think they like him as a business partner and since koko is younger than them they treat him like a little brother (the haitain way of course, teasing and all). But they are also dangerous when they want, and maybe they would tell others to use Inupi against Koko (guessing that they would find their way to each other anyway?)

Again, it would have been interesting to see what happened in Tenjiku and Koko's negotiation to get Inupi a prestigious position in the gang if he accepted to join

Regarding the von Karma theory: for what it's worth, I didn't agree with everything but thought it was good. Him suffering from an illness would've explain a lot of the behavior we see in-game. I don't understand why they keep calling you an apologist, though? Like, you never downplayed his actions once so that makes no sense??

i'm just obsessed with knowing why so many people are fixated on this one thing i said in passing? like in my video i spend a good long while talking about restorative justice, root causes of violence and crime, and why i personally like to dissect characters and see if i can puzzle out why they do horrible things. i wrote extensively on things i think could have contributed, how i think he got to that point, and why i think he did what he did. and then when i am like 'lol and imagine lead poisoning' it is presented, in no uncertain terms, as something a little more lighthearted and silly, because literally all it is is a headcanon that i thought about errantly one day and thought 'haha, that'd be funny and thematically beautiful, i like that' i'm not invested in it nor do i even really view it as ~the explanation~ it's literally just a headcanon i like? it exists on the same level as like, if i were to hc his favourite food or that he likes to play golf in his spare time. it is just a headcanon. that i can take or leave. i do not feel strongly about it, nor does it often come up when i am discussing manfred von karma, why i like him, why i think he did all the shit he did, etc.

lol, i'm never good at remembering my headcanons when i'm not actively throwing them into my fics. let's see.

I think the biggest one I have, or that sort of counts, is that I've spent a lot of time looking at Michael's behavior in s5 and trying to figure out just what's going on in his head. You know, there's that moment during the Dean & Michael confrontation where Michael says outright that he doesn't want to kill Lucifer, that he still loves him, and then follows it up with the fact that he's going to do it anyway. Actually, wait, let me grab the exact words transcript.

MICHAEL: You're wrong. Lucifer defied our father, and he betrayed me. But still, I don't want this any more than you would want to kill Sam. You know, my brother, I practically raised him. I took care of him in a way most people could never understand, and I still love him. But I am going to kill him because it is right and I have to.

And later of course, the infamous (to me, anyway): "Yes, because I am a good son."

And there's a lot to dig in there, but specifically to me what stands out is the bluntness of those last two statements. Because it is right and I have to. Because I am a good son. And to me, resident giver of problems to Michael, those come across not as explanations to Dean, but as justifications to himself. Or, well, that's kind of the same thing, if you take this conversation to be Michael talking at himself through his vessel, Dean's presence more incidental than anything, his eventual consent already a fact of the universe and so Michael doesn't actually need to dedicate any energy to convincing him. So, to me, he's not. He's trying to convince himself. And I think he's been trying to convince himself for a long time.

I think Michael is very good at holding two contradictory statements as equally true. God left but God loves him. Angels who consider disobedience must be punished or destroyed, but Raphael, who is outspoken in their belief that God is dead, is exempt from these rules. Lucifer is his little brother whom he loves and Lucifer is a monster who has to be put down for the good of the universe. No one in Heaven escapes being mindfucked, not even the guy nominally at the very top, because he's been rewiring his brain to be able to kill Lucifer without hesitation since the moment he had to throw him in the Cage (and he still failed to do it. Swan Song script my beloved, Michael hesitates because he wishes things could go back to how they were, because Lucifer is pleading with him as his little brother.)

And I think Michael has to be like this because he is so steadfast in his devotion. He loves Lucifer, and he loves God, and one day, he suddenly has to break himself in two trying to figure out why he can't simply make his feelings for Lucifer disappear because God orders it and wants Lucifer cast out. It's like. There's no healthy way for Michael to have a healthy relationship with his father, because the one mantra he's been repeating since his creation is God is Good and Right and everything he does has to be Good and Right, too. So if God kicks Lucifer out, that's Good and Right, and that makes Michael's emotions, his continuing attachment to Lucifer, Wrong and Bad. So, how to live with that, when he's just been given a clear example of what will happen if he is Wrong and Bad in God's eyes, when he's been the instrument who carried out that punishment? He can't love Lucifer, but he can't not love Lucifer.

So, that's how you end up with two equally true and contradictory statements. "I took care of him in a way most people could never understand, and I still love him." and "You're a monster, Lucifer. And I have to kill you."

Sorry for the rambling. I think in circles trying to figure out how Michael works out that what he's doing is the right thing. I like to imagine that early early stages of Heaven, like pre even Gabriel & Raphael existing, Lucifer and Michael shared a resting place together, not even considering that having separate spaces was an option. And then once Gabriel & Raphael, and later even more angels, did exist, and these spaces were more formally cut off from each other (in the way that human Heavens would later be as well, the cracks of Heaven's design showing early, the image of harmony while the inhabitants are being isolated), Lucifer just ignored that and kept spending his time in what was now supposed to be Michael's space alone. Michael, of course, lets him because otherwise it'd feel too empty.

And after Lucifer is cast out, Michael doesn't really rest anywhere anymore.

I don't want you to think I'm critical of dancing on her own OK maybe I am but I'm not here to .....make your day worse just give my own two cents I'm glad that peter gets therapy and I'm glad you mention peter is extremely young during all of this it makes me a little bit more empathetic to see his side of the matter and while it's wonderful that our lady character is capable to forgive him despite all this shit he put her through I still don't think she should be romantically involved with him like ever it not that he doesn't deserve her and bla bla (though that is also a very valid point) it not healthy for either of them she has seen him as an escape from her abusive childhood and clung on to the one thing she sees as normal it's quite similar for him to keep her with him because of his abandonment issues maybe there is quite strong love there but is it strong enough to take away the fact that they both view each other as coping mechanisms ? Im also much more optimistic and I like to think if anyone was in th place of the oc would've cut out peter along time ago which is what I wanted for them to go on healing parts separately from one another and find themselves and each other along the way again that's what is my hc for this actually that she views Gabe as the last starw forces him to move out And gets the fuck away from this man whose cut her of from so fucking much just cause he can't stand to have someone else in her life that's so so shitty but then I'm not her I don't even know how I would react if I was put in this situation humans are so weird in this way we are all wired differently while we like to think we want to do something some way we might do the opposite I guess I'm one of those people who like the "but this is the right way to go about things" ending rather than gray ending that don't satisfy me but that's my problem maybe that's what makes this fic so good for me it forces me to confront how I feel about morally Gray characters and complex situations rather than conforming to this good Black and white ending we have something Strange though it is also happy ending just not the one I agree with so yeah....the point of all this is youre a great writer thanks for writing this and I hope peter gets all the therapy he can lives with knowing that he's a very very lucky man cause I would've kicked him out a long time ago. Hahaha this made me chuckle because I thought I was bad at rambling, run-on sentences with zero punctuation but I think you have me beat! I need to go reread this line by line because it's so much and I love it. And I'm glad you have your own opinions on it! That's what makes writing fun to me is seeing everyone's different takes and sides and who identifies best with what part. I love discussing my work and other people's work that I love in detail. Sometimes I think too many people just throw out a "this was good!" and then bounce. I want to talk about stuff and hear people's deeper thoughts. Esp for a fic like this, I knew it would potentially be divisive.

When I write, the characters sort of are their own people and I'm just their puppet for them to put their stories on the page. I don't know how else to describe it but I have such a clear picture of who they are, what they do, and why they're doing it that they become their own little entity chillin up in my brain. So when I write, I can say "How would x react to y?" And then they sort of take over from there.

For this particular story, I had two very broken, traumatized people. You hit it perfect by saying they were each other's coping mechanism. She has literally never had another friend in her entire life besides Peter. That is not healthy! None of this relationship is healthy. It starts off with Peter protecting her from bullies, the first and only person in her life to ever stand up for her, so she basically imprints on him as her savior. She views him through rose colored glasses. Even when he's horrible to her, when she looks at him, she only sees that scrappy little boy from the first grade beating her bullies with a stick. She can't separate that image of Peter from the man he's grown up to be.

Peter, on the other hand, is so psychologically broken that he's just as bad (actually, he's worse). He's torn between wanting to always save her but not being able to know how/being too scared of failing/her actually not needing him. He doesn't know how to navigate being a super hero and the deaths that come with that and how to keep up healthy relations. You are absolutely right when you say it's not healthy! It's very much not. His depression also lead him down the path of becoming hardened, bitter, and mean. He emotions are frozen up still.

What's funny is that I don't actually view the ending as happy. It feels almost bittersweet to me. She had been waiting her whole life for Peter to love her how she wants. This is the first time he's expressed that out loud to her. She's been waiting for that kiss for so long that I don't think anything else mattered to her in that moment. She's blinded by her childhood dreams. Peter is blinded by his fear of losing her.

Technically this isn't the "end" also. I mean, it's the end of me writing the story but they would still live on in the fictional universe. I do think that she would lose her virginity to him eventually and I do think he would be really sweet about it. But as for them working out long term, I really don't know. The thing about therapy is that it slowly unveils stuff about yourself that you didn't realize over time. (I also don't think a therapist would encourage this relationship, both hers and his, I think they would tell them to hold off on it). I doubt they will listen, though, because I know these characters. They are going to try before they are ready. They are going to try to force things and I don't exactly see the best outcome for them.

For the ending, it's not exactly happy or a finality of what they will be. It's meant to be hopeful and nudged into the direction of healing but that's where it ends.

The rest is to up to you, my love! Envision their messy attempts at a relationship to fail. Envision her striking up a conversation with Gabe a year into the future and him inviting out to movie. Technically anything that happens after they go back home is up to the reader! It's out of my hands!

Final points because I've rambled far too long, the story wasn't meant to be about what is right but what would happen if you put two messy, traumatized humans together and forced them into different situations. They wouldn't make the right choices because they've never been taught anything different. All she's ever known is Peter so, therefore, all she's ever going to chose is Peter...until she works on that in therapy and, hopefully, finds her own self again and learns how to live without her crutch. For now, they recognize their love for the other, whatever form that takes and, for now, that will have to do because they don't know any other way of living. Bittersweet! Not happy.

Thank you for this ask though. It made me happy that someone could even care enough to feel anger on behalf of a character I wrote and want justice for them. All I want is for people to love the creatures in my head as much as I do.

I just finished watching Tales of the Jedi for the 2nd time and I’d like to share my thoughts.

Spoilers for TotJ!!!

The series overall—Animation was ok (I mentioned how Rex/the clone model still looked off here) but overall it was good (especially the environments). THE MUSIC WAS 💯💕 BEAUTIFUL. There were a few things that was kinda like 🤔 but it’s nothing too major and I had some thoughts on what I, personally, would’ve liked to see.

Ep1–Life and Death

—Thought it was good. Baby Ahsoka’s design is similar to the one shown briefly in CW 👍

—The panda dog things were adorable and the food they eat looks SO SIMILAR to Mantell Mix

—The village elder does 3 hand poses (and says something in their native language) when Ahsoka’s mom made a kill, which reminded me of Rebels and the 3 hand poses that opens the portal thing

—Giant cat looked very tiger-y and immediately thought of Jungle Book, though the stories are very different.

Ep2–Justice

—Loved Young Dooku/Quigon duo. Like their designs/interactions, everything, was really good imo

—Dooku wears a cape and not a jedi robe

—Quigon didn’t have his padawan braid but I guess that was time between Padawan/Knight.

—Liked the fact that the senator’s son wasn’t upset about being kidnapped. Loved 2 Ton’s design (the droid)

—clearly sets up Dooku’s fall to the dark side.

Ep3–Choices

—The Mace/Dooku duo was something I’ve wanted since seeing them in Attack of the Clones.

—Mace’s design is also changed slightly (like Anakin/Ahsoka/Obi) to keep up with the better technology. How old is Mace? I honestly don’t know and actually expected him to look a bit younger. Like I know he trained Depa Bilaba (Caleb/Kanan’s master) but, to me, he seemed to be the same age as he was in CW.

—Loved that AotC was more of a noir/detective movie and seemed to continue into this episode (Windu/Dooku solving a jedi murder case).

—I think the guard guy that Mace killed was the son of the guy with the different colored eyes. Which means Mace killed someone’s son and left a father without a child and he also killed Boba’s father Jango, leaving Boba without a father. That’s just my opinion/HC and wasn’t confirmed or anything.

—MACE DID NOT STEAL THE COUNCIL SEAT FROM DOOKU! From context, Dooku has no problem doing things his way and explaining it to the Council. That means this has happened more than the one time we saw in context of this episode. I believe Dooku never really had a chance at a seat on the Council. He believed he did. I think his own ego/shortsightedness blinded Dooku into believing he was guaranteed a spot on the Council

—By now it’s clear that Anakin and Dooku have a lot in common (think RotS when Anakin got upset that he wasn’t a ‘master’ but on the Council)

Ep4–The Sith Lord

—This was my favorite episode!

—MASTER YADDLE!!! FINALLY!!! I believe we first see her in The Phantom Menace when Anakin is brought to the Temple on Coruscant and the jedi are testing him. She appears briefly in the background and has no speaking lines if I remember correctly. I know Yaddle has a different story in Star Wars Legends (the Extended Universe—books/video games etc) but I actually really enjoyed seeing her.

—Her relationship with Dooku seemed really important. Dooku was Yoda’s padawan and my own HC is that Yaddle and Yoda are Grogu’s (Baby Yoda) parents. I believe Yoda/Dooku/Yaddle were kind of like Anakin/Ahsoka/Obiwan respectively. Ahsoka is Anakin’s padawan but also had Obi-wan as a friend/mentor just like Dooku is Yoda’s padawan, but also seemed to be friends with Yaddle.

—Also I believe this was the only episode that is set during one of the movies (Phantom Menace). Dooku talks with Quigon about the Sith Lord (Darth Maul) that he and Obiwan encountered on Tatooine before it changes to Yaddle informing Dooku about Quigon’s funeral (after being killed by Maul on Naboo). She is clearly concerned about Dooku, especially when he says he must let Quigon go as he’s one with the Force. She asks him if he ‘can do this’, to which he responds with ‘what choice have I?’

—Dooku’s always been shown to have great control over his emotions (which is why he doesn’t have sith eyes) but despite that, Yaddle’s concern wins out and she follows him to his meeting with Emperor Palpatine.

—DOOKU LOVED QUIGON JUST LIKE OBI LOVED ANAKIN! His convo with Yaddle earlier (about the tree) clearly showed that. And he was RIGHTLY upset that Palpy had him killed by Maul.

—SHE LEFT THE COUNCIL FOR DOOKU!!! SHE EVEN ADMITTED HE WAS RIGHT!! That is love right there. She clearly had a loving friendship relationship with Dooku for her to leave the Council. And what does Obi-wan tell Satine? ‘Had you said the word, I would’ve left the Jedi Order’. Yaddle probably didn’t think of Dooku in a romantic way (I hope), but she obviously cared about him just as he cared for Quigon.

—YADDLE BEGGED DOOKU TO HELP HER BRING PALPY TO JUSTICE.

—THAT WHOLE FIGHT, JESUS!

—Ok, whoever is in charge of ratings sucks cuz there’s no way that this episode was TV-PG. Yaddle’s death was BRUTAL! Like they didn’t really show the blade connecting, but they showed her lifeless body after, made the saber-on-flesh-sound, and showed Dooku beginning the execution move. JESUS Disney. Shit

Ep5–Practice Makes Perfect

—Seeing young Anakin and mullet-Obiwan in clone armor made me SO HAPPY!!!

—The sass is still there!! AAHHH!!!

—Plo Koon sitting with Yoda, Obiwan and Anakin watching Ahsoka proudly was such a dad-move!!!

—And seeing young Caleb/Kanan and Bilaba at Ahsoka’s training test was amazing! And he was so obviously gushing about Ahsoka to Bilaba when they walked out lol

—MASTER SINUBE!!! GRAMPS!!! Was this before or after that Lightsaber Lost ep?!?!

—Of course Anakin was unimpressed with the test and unintentionally taught her how to survive O66.

—Seeing the clones in phase 1 armor again made me flash back to early CW animation.

—ABSOLUTELY LOVED JESSE’S LITTLE ‘Sorry Commander!’ As it was funny in the moment and tragic when you think about the fact that Jesse lead the turned clones during O66 and was going to kill Ahsoka (and possibly Rex too).

—I think this episode is the only one with a time skip. Loved the transition of the stuns and Ahsoka waking up older and seeing the clones in their phase 2 armor.

—THEY MADE ANAKIN’S TRAINING INTO A GAME!!!

—Then skipped again to O66 with Ahsoka and Rex walking into the hangar full of clones ready to kill them (with Jesse out front).

—Gave me Arcane ep7 Ekko/Jinx vibes TO THE MAX!! (Though if I’m being honest, I preferred Arcane’s version though it’s so close lol).

Ep6–Resolve

—Ok so I think out of all of them, this one’s the worst.

—Don’t get me wrong, it was ok, but out of every ep, I didn’t really care for it.

—My fav part/scene was Padme’s funeral and Bail’s convo with her.

—Ahsoka is living in hiding in a small farming village that has Empire presence I guess.

—Ahsoka has to use the Force to save one of the workers, who realizes Ahsoka is a jedi. Her brother rats Ahsoka out and an Inquisitor comes. From what I’ve heard online, it’s the 6th Brother?? Idk so please correct me if I’m wrong (I believe we’ve seen the 3rd Sister-Reva, 5th Brother, 7th Sister, and the 8th Brother briefly)

—So I’ve never gotten into SW Legends (the Extended Universe), but apparently from what I’ve seen online, this episode is supposed to be an animated version of a book called Ahsoka. It’s basically telling the same story 2 different ways.

—That’s pretty lazy 🤔 to me. Like there are so many other story options (even within just Ahsoka) so it still could’ve worked out 3 v 3 (3 Ahsoka/3 Dooku) eps. I’ve never read the book but I believe it’s about Ahsoka’s time after O66 and how she gets her white lightsabers.

—I heard that the female worker Ahsoka saves is actually black/dark-skinned in the book which is blatant whitewashing (I think I also read that the character was also established as queer). She was replaced by a female with fair skin, straight brown hair and light hazel-y brown eyes. SERIOUSLY?! THE WHITEWASHING HAS TO STOP!!! POC MATTER (in the US, it’s Nov so it’s Native American Heritage month! And Nov 1st was dia de los muertos/day of the dead).

—The Inquisitor’s design looked cool af

—The fight was ok. Reminded me a little of Maul v Obiwan but b/c there was no obvious history it wasn’t very impactful. Liked how he faded away though. And from what I read, he’s voiced by Clancy Brown??? Really!? I love Clancy Brown!! Also it seemed like the Inquisitor knew Ahsoka (he knew her name), though Ahsoka made no connection to him.

I guess those are my main thoughts on the series as a whole and on each episode as well.

What I’d change:

—ep 6 entirely. I’d actually would’ve loved to see how Ahsoka got her second lightsaber instead of the Inquisitor.

—the whitewashed clone model obviously

—So I loved ep4 and Dooku vs Yaddle, BUT! How cool would it have been if Dooku’s saber slowly changed to purple as the fight went on before turning red as he struck down the Jedi Master?? I’m sure that would absolutely go against how lightsabers turn red, having to do with emotions/feelings and that Dooku is great at controlling his own emotions. I just think that would’ve been cool. Though I’m sure that goes against how he actually got them (assuming it’s explained in Legends or something).

—I loved ep1 and baby ‘Soka. But I also love Plo Koon. Would’ve died to see him discover her and talk with her parents/the village elder.

What I’d like to see going forward, assuming there will be a s2 (w/ 6eps):

—MORE CLONE CONTENT!! Gimme a story about Boil going back to Ryloth with Waxer’s armor (post Umbara) and telling Numa what happened to their ‘nera’. Gimme cadet cody/rex bonding! Gimme 99’s creation and demotion to maintenance!! Would also give Disney yet another chance to change the clone model (though if we do get more clone content I highly doubt they would). Gimme Jango/Boba bonding (bonus points for Omega’s creation) I’d like to know SPECIFICALLY what Jango told Boba to make him hate clones. Gimme Wolffe’s demotion from Marshall Commander cuz he lost the whole 104th on the Malevolence. Gimme more clone domestic-life with the boys painting their armor/being w/ their Jedi generals. Just GIMME MORE CLONE BOYS!!! UNWHITEWASHED!!!!

—You can’t tell me that Tales of the Clones wouldn’t be badass lol

—I’d love to see General Grievous’s backstory. From what I’ve seen online, he’s some sort of warrior-hero/savior to his people but the Empire (I think) turned him into what we know as ‘Grievous’. Also that’s not even his name (I forget what it really is, but b/c Grievous sounds like ‘grieve’ I have a bad feeling that it has to do with his people or something).

—Young Yoda and his master. Yoda talks the way he does b/c of his master, which is why Yaddle doesn’t speak the same way (which makes me feel like Baby Yoda/Grogu will sound just like Mando lol).

—Black Krrsantan (Santo-the black wookie form BoBF) or Chewie’s backstory. I know we get a bit of Chewie from Solo: A Star Wars Story and would honestly prefer more Santo content (I think he fights Obiwan in a comic or something) but idk how likely that would be.

—Samuel L. Jackson has stated that he wants to return to Mace Windu/SW and was quoted saying of Mace’s demise- ‘in Star Wars, people survive getting their hands chopped off all the time. So it’s possible,” (or something like that—point is, he thinks Mace could’ve survived his fall/chopped limb). Would love to see Mace post O66 if he in fact, lives.

—Grogu teaching younglings the Jedi and Mandalorian ways, diving into his backstory pre-Mando. I HC that he’s Yaddle and Yoda’s son. It would also give SW a chance to tell a story post—the Skywalker saga timeline (Phantom Menace all the way through to the Rise of Skywalker), since Grogu can out-live the characters in the sequel trilogy.

—I’d like to see High Republic era stuff. I know little to nothing about that era but from fanart I’ve seen, it looks dope af (I know the new animated show Young Jedi Adventures is supposed to be set during that era, but it’s aimed for preschoolers so obviously I’d like something more adult set in that era—but I’m still going to check it out when it releases! Lol)

—I played the SW computer game The Old Republic so I’d also love anything set during that era as well (Master Satele Shan, Master Orgus Din, etc)

So I think that’s most of my thoughts on Tales of the Jedi. I definitely like it more than Bad Batch but not sure if it’s better than CW (to me they are equal). Thanks to all that have made it through this post. I promise I’ll be back with a fic real soon. Thanks everyone!

How would your MC react to the whole “going down to memory lane” thing Ethan did with Harper? Do you think it was also view as harmless from Harper’s side? (I know some have different HC for Harper’s feelings towards MC and Ethan)

Hello, lovely anon! Thank you so much for sending this question. I'm deeply touched! ❤

At first, Marissa didn't feel jealous (literally hate that plotline in Book 3 so I imagine this HC.), but definitely felt insecure about the whole situation. She knows Ethan and Harper are exes and that their break-up relationship was in good terms, but she didn't have any idea about the kind of very friendly bond they had.

So when Harper is introduced to the team and the way Ethan and Harper were engaging in the conversation with each other, she is taken aback by surprise with the new discovered dynamic. She starts to feel left out in the conversation because she wasn't part of the memories they were reminiscing and couldn't be ever part of it. She was also not used to this kind of dynamic in the meetings with the diagnostics team, so this was certainly a novelty to her.

She knows both had no ill intentions whatsoever, so the very next day she starts being more analytical and tries engaging smoothly more with them in their conversation; which she wasn't part of and was only getting used to it on the first day. The very last thing she would want is that there is any kind of problem or awkwardness in interacting with the team members, so this is how she tries to make it better.

When she is met with no resistance from the either side, but both were welcoming to her in engaging with her, she starts to feel better and secure about the situation. Also, she starts to know Harper better first-hand. Earlier, she didn't have a clear understanding of her character. She had known her as her strict and straight-forward superior in her intern year, and then just as an aunt to Aurora. (Which let's admit, really didn't have a very good impression.)

As for Harper's feelings towards Ethan and Marissa's relationship is very good! She is very happy for them. At first, yes during Marissa's intern year, she might have had some reservations (Let's be clear, she had a hunch about their budding relationship. It wasn't like these two were subtle 🤭) , but eventually she becomes very accepting when she sees how much both of them really care for each other. In fact, in future Harper becomes Nathaniel's (Ethan and Marissa's son) mentor when he chooses his career in neurosurgery 😊❤

Overall opinion

I love this gal! I love this gal! They really popped off with her in so many respects shdjdjd. I was talking to a friend about this earlier but her visual design as Batgirl is so cool, and to be honest the fact that it denies a clear face to perceive and leans so far into the blackness of it all makes her look way scarier than Bruce most of the time. As far as being an actual character, she’s got so many great things going on. Her run of Batgirl books was so good because it really hammered home real themes of abuse in a really vivid way, making her struggle with the ideas of violence and revenge and what it means to heal from all of that. She represents a really tough intersection of a hero who carries the baggage of serious trauma but whose trauma also makes her devoted to being against killing, and it’s something she has to struggle with. The idea that she “isn’t good enough” which was drilled into her from her own abuse and is carried over in the way she’s seen at times from her mentors in Batman and Oracle, wanting to live up to the image of the bat while struggling to fit herself into the idea of what it means to be that kind of hero. It’s all really good and really compelling.

Unfortunately Cass has the central problem of being a comic book character which means she tends to be written more or less gracefully depending on the writer. There’s an infamous incident of her being turned into a villain on a totally faulty premise because the author for that book hadn’t even read anything with her in it before and just thought it would be a cool twist. There’s also the fact that she, alongside Steph, were entirely erased from the continuity for the New 52 and had to eventually be brought back in a somewhat less graceful way than before. I like Rebirth Cass, but I’m still frustrated that they did away with her to begin with, creating another version of the character which would further complicate things.

One of the most standout elements for Cass to me is that struggling kindness. She’s a deeply, genuinely good person and her goodness shines through even the abuse and pain she’s suffered and her difficulty with social interactions and with communication. Despite fighting being all she knows she’s at her core a good person, wants to be good and to do good and to be kind. One of the central themes of her solo series was that she might not forgive her abusers, might hate them, but that she wants to be kind in spite of that, to be and to do better, and to keep moving forward and not to let them ruin her life any further. Her strong code against killing is one example of this, but it’s also just her attitude towards forgiveness and healing. She accepts Bruce as a father figure despite his flaws and red flags and returns to Babs despite some stuff she said that others could consider unforgivable. At her core she wants to just keep getting better and she’ll always take the path that does that the most, and it’s a really really powerful story to hear regarding abuse victims.

Gender / sexuality

Hahaha (*cracks my knuckles*). Now’s the time when I get to have my fun. Like all characters I enjoy I have waved my wand and casted the magic of trans ur gender and homo ur sexuality. I consider her a transfem character and like all my transfem HCs this is mostly cuz I want her to be trans but I found a pretty good after the fact justification for it which is that I think it further emphasizes the themes of rejecting your assigned role and choosing to be someone you want to be. Cass was assigned killer at birth and transitioned to a non-killer so she can also transition to a girl, right? Also she’s sapphic and kisses girls cuz I just think she should, she deserves it.

Favorite canon moment

Honestly, there are a lot of these depending on the continuity- the WFA 2-parter “All-Seeing” is fantastic for example- but from her solo series I wanna go with her fight against Bruce. This happens because after working together Bruce has begun to exhibit some red flags in his behavior, beginning to act in some ways like Cass’ biological father and he’s as aware of that as she is and is struggling with the need to be better for her and to be different. One of those themes of fatherhood that always gets me. But as that comes to a head, Bruce essentially lets himself be controlled by a villain to set up a fight between himself and Cass with neither holding back, both fighting each other earnestly, because both of them are very autistic and communicate better through their actions and through fighting than they ever could with words. It’s pretty heart-warming despite the premise, and it ends on a really touching note of him earnestly apologizing and promising to become a better father to her essentially, and her asserting that she isn’t loyal to him but to the idea of the bat itself.

Favorite fan work moment

I haven’t read any fan works with Cass in them yet sadly mostly because I think fanfic is daunting in general because of how hard it is to find good stuff and I think that feeling would only be massively amplified by the inherent continuity confusion and wildness of comic books. I’ll take suggestions tho dhdjfn.

Favorite line

I think I have to go with “I see too much, I can’t help it” from the aforementioned WFA 2-parter cuz that blew me away completely.

Characters I love seeing them interact with

Any of the Batfamily I think, but in particular her best friendship with Steph is extremely fun to see and super cute, her father-daughter dynamic with Bruce is great, I think she and Jason have a lot in common and would get along, and her looking up to Babs as a role model is a lot of fun too. As far as non-Batman characters I think she and Jaime Reyes (the Blue Beetle) should hang out.

Last thing before bed

So it’s basically confirmed that all the Batfam is nocturnal so she presumably sleeps during the day which is great. I think both because of her natural attitude and the fact that it’s bright outside when she goes to sleep she probably has a hard time getting to bed and dealing with like, everything calming down to that point, she’s probably pretty energetic up until then, so I think she likes it if she can get one of her siblings or Bruce or Alfred to just talk to her for a bit, to help her wind down and get comfortable. This is also why I think she doesn’t use her own room that much and has a habit of falling asleep in random places around the manor.

Sleeping habits

I think she absolutely tosses and turns something fierce and is prone to nightmares. Luckily she’s got the resources to reach out to if they’re really traumatic and a big house with lots of snacks to swipe if she wakes up. I think she probably eventually gets pretty used to waking up and going back to sleep so her schedule is usually more like a lot of naps throughout the day. Which is also why she sleeps in tons of different weird locations. So you can never find Cass around the house, but you can be somewhat sure of when she’s asleep. She just might be like. Asleep in a closet somewhere.

First thing after waking up

Again, because of her unique sleep schedule and everything, I think she wakes up a lot, but once she wakes up for the last time before showtime I think she probably takes the time to get a really big, proper meal and lets herself really fill up before she starts getting properly ready for patrol and tackling any cases. Probably after eating she takes the time to wake up her body fully with exercises and stuff before taking care of everything else.

Favorite location

I think she really does feel at home in the manor and enjoys all the different nooks and crannies she can carve out for herself, little private spaces that nobody knows about except her and Alfred. Places that are calm and quiet where she doesn’t have to worry about being overwhelmed by the chaos of everything, the overwhelming sensory issues she often experiences when she goes out into the world. Someplace just for her, and whoever she chooses to let in.
