The Stables

When Jack and Saiwa crossed the bridge, Lunatic became aware of where they were and bucked.

Jack: "Lunatic! What's wrong?"

Tyalindo: 'Omg! Was it here where you have been attacked by the giant rat and the werewolf?' Lunatic: 'Yes!'

Jack: "Don't worry Lunatic. We are here. We will protect you. Look, this Lady here was able to pass unscathed!" Lady: ö.Ö'

Jack: "OMG! This is Rory Oaklow! And we are in their territory! She will make mincemeat out of us!" Saiwa hisses.

Lunatic: 'She comes directly towards us!'

Tyalindo: 'Leave Jack alone!'

But Rory walked right past them and - vanished? And then Lou Howell approached and vanished too. Right in front of their very eyes.

Tyalindo: 'What is going on here?' Jack: "I don't know. We had this happen behind the Tavern at Mount Komorebi too. This is so disturbing!"

They ran back to the safe Bunker. Jack: "Lunatic! Wait for us!"

Lunatic: 'Quick! Close the gate!'

Little Goat: 'What happened?' Lunatic: 'Werewolves attacked us! And then they vanished into nowhere!' Little Goat: 'But it is good they vanished, isn't it?' Lunatic: 'No! It is scary! When they can disappear into nowhere - they can appear out of nowhere!' Little Goat: 'OMG! Then it makes no sense to close the gate! They can appear anywhere!' Lunatic: 'OMG!'

fun fact: most of the information we know about classic pirates (blackbeard, anne bonny, mary read, calico jack) is from one book. and it’s more hilarious the more you know.

A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pyrates (or A General History of Pyrates) by Captain Charles Johnson

firstly: captain charles johnson is not a person nor a captain. it’s a pen name. and we have no clue who he actually was. he probably chose “captain” to give himself a sense of credibility he did not have. (could possibly have been daniel defoe or nathaniel mist and you can actually find modern copies printed under both their names)

secondly: he made a lot of it up. he gathered whatever information was available and just made up the rest and anything he thought would make it cooler. that’s not even to mention the second volume where he made up several entire people. this dude was just making stuff up and it’s now the earliest history we have of these people and we’ve accepted it as fact.

thirdly: it was initially published in 1724. (golden age of piracy was 1650s-1830s, dude was writing about the present) several of the pirates he writes about were still alive. and the rest were very recently dead. (henry every is an outlier) he was literally making up facts about people who were very much alive likely while he was writing it.

so this mysterious random dude made up stories about pirates who were still running around killing people and it’s now accepted as pirate cannon. amazing

Random Thoughts on Why Women Kill Season 1

Warning: Show is rated MA and contains adult themes.

You can 100% tell that Marc Cherry’s thumbprints are on this series. He has a unique storytelling style.

Simone is Gabby Solis’s sister from another mister. The glow up from shallow to a woman of substance was an enjoyable (but heartbreaking) journey.

Tommy was some nice eye candy but I wish I hadn’t looked up the actors’ ages- a 30 year age difference made their love scenes a little uncomfortable to watch.

My love for Jack Davenport is still going strong. I haven’t seen him in anything that I haven’t loved him in. RIP Smash.

While I did binge this, in the middle I got antsy to know why and who the women killed. I feel like 8 episodes would’ve been better. There were some filler episodes.

I loved the thread of the same house through the decades.

Beth Anne was the craziest of all the wives, but having someone gaslight you into believing you’d played a hand in killing your own daughter will do that to you.

Didn’t really care for April. It’s hard to be sympathetic with someone who willingly and knowingly sleeps with a married man.

Taylor was annoying at first but by the end I really liked her. They made Eli more sympathetic at first but then flipped the script when we saw all that she’d been through because of his addiction. She became a lot more relatable after that.

Jade/Irene was honestly scary. I was so relieved when she died. Ding dong the witch is dead.

I cried no tears over Rob either. I felt for him when I thought he was cheating as a coping mechanism for losing his daughter but after we found out what he did - that guy can kick rocks.

I do not support Naomi’s rampage and nastiness against Karl, but not gonna lie if I found out my high school aged child was sleeping with someone 20 to 30 years older than them - I’d go nuclear too. We have a double standard. It’s cool and fun when an older woman sleeps with a younger man but icky and gross when an older man does it. No, it’s icky and gross no matter who it is. I can see why Naomi would have been angry/murderous towards Simone. I think sans the terrorizing a terminally ill man in his dying days - she had a perfectly normal reaction to finding out her child was sleeping with a woman decades older than him.

The one loose end that I wish had been tied up was Sheila and Beth Anne becoming friends again. Sheila was a good friend - better than April had been.

Poor Teacup. I’m glad Taylor and Eli took him at the end.

Jack's Therapy Game Part 3 (From the beginning: -> here)

Lou and Jack are on their way to the Pub. Seems it's in Goldshire, where Vlad already playtested the game. They've been chatting on their way. Lou: "So, where do you live?" Of course Jack can't tell him that he comes from another world and this is just a game. Jack: "Uhm, to be honest, I have no place to stay here." Lou: "Ah don't worry. I'll take care of you." 'Take care'!? This reminds Jack of his Heidi dream nightmare where the Laird aka Kiyoshi 'took good care' of his people! All of them!

But this is just a game, right? He can quit anytime. Lou: "I have a guest room where you can stay. But let's care for the horses first and go to the pub. I'm thirsty and we have to celebrate your win! But remember, no one knows it's us who fought today. We're not Wolfsbane and Moonchild here - we're Lou and Jack. Only Barfolomew and - uhm... only Barfolomew knows." Jack: "Understood."

And so they reached Goldshire in the early evening.

They rode over to the stable where Diablo had stayed earlier. Jack: "Erm - I've heard they eat horses here, will they be safe?" Lou: "Of course they will. That's just one of those silly tales they tell strangers." Jack: "No way! We've been so worried!" Lou chuckled: "They mean no harm. Just don't let them pull your paw. To be honest: we are almost all vegans. No one eats no one here :3 "

Bunny to Valerian: 'This is my meadow! Step back or I will devour you like these lifeless leaves I just brutally ripped out of the ground!' Or not ^^'

Valerian, unimpressed: 'Sure.'

Lou: "I tell you what. You care for the horses and I'll get you your room ready. I'll be back in a minute." Jack: "Ok, thanks!"

Lou is so handsome!

There he goes. Seems Lunatic is not so convinced that the bunnies are of no harm ^^'

A three-judge panel of the District Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals has denied former President Trump’s request to block one of his attorneys from turning over documents to a grand jury looking into whether he broke the law by retaining classified documents at his Florida residence and whether he obstructed the investigation into his alleged retention of the documents.

Circuit Judges Nina Pillard, J. Michelle Childs and Florence Pan issued a brief order lifting an administrative stay of a lower court order compelling attorney Evan Corcoran to turn over documents – including recordings of Mr. Trump – to a grand jury working under the supervision of Justice Department Special Counsel Jack Smith.

The panel ordered Mr. Corcoran to comply with the 17 March order from District Judge Beryl Howell, who until last week was Chief Judge of the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

Judge Howell reportedly found that Mr. Smith, who had asked for an order compelling Mr. Corcoran’s testimony, had met the burden to show Mr. Trump had used the attorney’s legal advice in the commission of a crime.

Known as the “crime-fraud exception” to attorney-client privilege, the exception allows Mr. Smith to compel Mr. Corcoran to testify and produce documents that would ordinarily be shielded by the privilege, which generally guards communications between an attorney and a client.

The ruling means Mr. Corcoran will have to provide the grand jury evidence that could be used to indict Mr. Trump on charges that he obstructed a DOJ investigation into whether he unlawfully retained classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago beach club for more than a year after his term as President ended in January 2021.
