Girl meets world was ludicrous for trying to pretend that Jack and Eric broke up, like I can understand Jack needing to get away from Eric to try to stop having feelings for him so that he could come to terms with the fact that he couldn’t live without him and realise they belong together, but that wouldn’t have taken nearly 15 years and he wouldn’t have not spoken to his family for that whole time and he and Eric would have been married by then so yeah, ball dropped. It’s not canon. Jack and Eric have been married for 20 years.
i wanted to take a moment to talk about THESE DAMN PICTURES BRO.
this entire scene, jack would NOT TAKE HIS EYESSS OFF ERIC. eric is literally just working there and jack is staring at him so intently like dude what are you doing???
also like. is it just me or have we ever considered that maybe it’s just matthew lawrence and will friedle?? like i’m not suspecting anything, but the way they look at each other is just so real and i can’t help but think there’s something behind it, whether that’s just how matt and will look at each other or that they were purposely being like that with each other specifically for the show.
like maybe that’s just how matt looks at will.
AGAIN, im not suspecting anything but likeee something’s up with that guys
I would like to say to you Matt I am so glad that you came on the show for a number of reasons. One because you and I got along very very well. We did. We also were good foils for each other. We played very well off of each other. But Eric could easily have been that character that just kind of started to fall by the wayside because they really had the Cory/Shawn/Topanga thing going on. And it easily could have been we're just gonna scoot this out Will's gonna come in do a scene here or there. So bringing you on the show, our characters were able to get...We often on the show talk about the two Boy meets Worlds where you and I at times might as well have been on a completely different television show. It was you and I together as kind of that odd couple thing and it just worked. And so I'm very glad that you were brought on the show because it took my dynamic.. selfishly it took my dynamic in a whole different way...The more straight man you played the more crazy I got to go. And you got to really see the dynamic of how because you grounded the scenes we were in Eric could become a living cartoon character. So It worked because you were there....It certainly made my life a hell of a lot easier with you being there. -Will
I think we should of uh gone on to do another...spin off show. -Matt
We so easily could of ....There were talks of us spinning off into a show. -Will
I want to talk about the love lives of the Hunter brothers
Shawn’s first love was his male best friend, whose family he was a part of, and he knew he wasn’t gonna get what he wanted because Cory had chosen Topanga since before they were old enough understand the choice in love, so he loved them both and loved them together and moved on.
His second love was Angela, who he had a deep understanding connection with and helped each other grow a lot, but ultimately they couldn’t end up together because they had a lot of the same trauma and escapism tendencies and thus couldn’t be the one to heal each other and make something permanent, so he chose to let her go.
But his third and final love, that he found as an adult, Katie, gave him friendship and family, and understanding and growth, and that’s why he married her, that’s why he chooses her and her daughter, not just because he’s in a place in his life where he’s ready to make that choice and stick to it, but because she can give him what he needs too.
but Jack, oh Jack
Jack might have had girlfriends, and some might have been serious, like Rachel, but let’s be honest, he only had one love; Eric.
Eric was aware that he was in love with Jack, but he was also aware that Jack wasn’t aware and that even if he was, there was no guarantee that he’d choose Eric, no matter how much he wanted to.
Jack was struggling with himself so deeply that he didn’t understand that his love for Eric was romantic, he didn’t understand they were ‘in’ love, and by series end he was starting to figure it out, but he was still fighting it. He stayed away from Eric for years trying to kill his own feelings, and in gmw, Eric very clearly still feels the heartbreak. Jack broke Eric’s heart by abandoning their friendship out of fear of it turning into more. Eric wanted more and wasn’t afraid of it.
The only way how gmw painted them is canon, is if they had a blowout fight about all of it after dark and confessed their love for each other because Jack was finally ready and Eric never stopped loving him, and that’s what I chose to believe happened. They’re married now.
