#Jacob/Bella
Note
Could Smeyer have given Edward a (real) love interest besides Bella. His own Jacob.
That's giving a lot of credit to Bella/Jacob that I'm not inclined to give.
But also no.

jake/bella headcanons???? pls???
Hoe about some late summer/early autumn vibes for our favorite pair??
There is a drive in theater about 2 hours away from Forks. Bella and Jake load the back of Bellas truck up with pillows and blankets (and snacks snuck in under the blankets). They take the long drive and commit to a double feature at the theater, backed into the parking spot, sharing the blankets in the bed of the truck for warmth. The stars twinkle overhead, the vintage corded speaker hanging over the side of the truck blaring the movie's score so loud they don't even have to whisper to heckle the movie
One of the farms past city limits sets up a hay maze, complete with scare actors dressed like scarecrows ready to jump out at passersby. Bella's unphased, she's seen far worse than a raggedy scarecrow. But Jake? Who would have guessed that he would be so jumpy? He claims it was more due to anxiety surrounding losing his sense of direction, but the scare actors would disagree.
For Bella's birthday, Jake arranges a surprise bonfire party in La Push. He collects pine branches fallen from a recent storm. Billy and Charlie provide snacks on a large fold out table Charlie borrowed from the diner. A cooler is filled with sodas for all the attendees, but Jake keeps two aside, warm like they're used to drinking in the garage. Bella hates surprises, and parties, but its really not that different from the other weekends out there, so she lets it slide. Until gift giving time comes, and she lets out a dramatic groan and protests. She's rendered nearly speechless when Jake gives her a beautiful handmade cutting board, and instructions on how to take care of it.

I don’t even go here.
But I have friends that do, and I’m very good at absorbing fandoms by osmosis.
So here’s Bella and Jacob getting married cuz I’ve heard more than enough evidence from very passionate people to know they are the ones who should have been together lmao

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if everyone who got the wrong end of the stick in Twilight(which is literally every character but Bella), and the ones who really were unfortunate, were able to instead drop the whole supernatural stuff and just be normal teens in a normal world, living a normal life. That would be so fluffy, and such a wholesome AU!

@flufftober -
He was there for her when she needed him.
She always knew that he was important to her, but she hadn't noticed before that what she felt for him had long been more than just friendship. It was something that wouldn’t have had a chance to develop if not for Edward's departure.
She smiled as she thought about how much had changed. Suddenly she thought she should say something.
“I'm glad you're here.” - she said, trying not to look at Jacob sitting on the couch - “I'm really glad you're here.”
She knew she had surprised him. She saw it in the immediate change in his posture, the sparkle that appeared in his eyes that she liked so much... Bella nervously waited for Jacob to say something. Anything that would indicate that he understood what she meant.
After a long moment of silence, he asked - “Are you happy that I'm here or are you happy that I'm here with YOU?”
Grabbing two mugs full of hot chocolate from the kitchen counter, she took one last look at the rain outside and walked over to him with a smile. Sitting down on the sofa, she handed one of the cups to her private security bodyguard, then leaned towards him and whispered directly into his ear - “I'm glad you're here with ME.”
She loved him, but she wasn't ready to say it yet.

Twilight Series Rating
I've said a lot about this series already on my blogs, @shin-soumisa, and @theothershin, so I'll make this one short.
Usually, I rate books considering 5 things. One for each star. Each thing is pretty vague, which means that only the important things are there. Something like how the supernatural creatures are written can be included in Plot, and something like how the romance or the First Nations are portrayed may be added in Morals.
Anyways, let's get into it.
The thing I disliked the most was that the morals were choppy. Bella and Edward start at 11 and they're just diehard obsessed with each other throughout the whole plot, the only character flaw that isn't pointed out or gotten over. Annoying. Boring.
The plot's fine, but it could have been way better. Most of it was romance, which normally doesn't interest me, but it was beyond uninteresting in this case and more towards annoying. And then the non-romance parts were interesting but not portrayed very well. Only the whole thing with Renesmee really interested me.
Same with the characters. None of them were very bad, so to say, considering they got over some huge flaws(I'm not sure if they really got over them, but considering they stopped acting those sort of ways and said they'd be good and they realised they were sorry and wrong...). But they could have been better.
The setting was a little cliche, but honestly I don't care about that one at all, in this case at least.
The writing style was really bad. The whole reason the characters and the plot suck are because they could have been better, in some cases being different events, in some cases being the same events just written differently. It all just sucked because it was written and then portrayed in a terrible way, and I could barely understand what the hell was going wrong when the problems began appearing.
In the end, I really love this series for what it maybe could have been, with the interesting shapeshifters and vampires and maybe more supernatural action. But what it is sort of feels a little off-putting. So I rate The Twilight Series:
2.5

Do you think Bella and Alice would have stayed friends if Bella had ended up with Jacob?
Do you think Alice would insist on planning Bella’s wedding even if it was for her and Jacob?
ok this is a good one, had to have a serious ponder.
and I think the answer is:
if written by smeyer: yes, alice and bella stay friends and alice is still her wedding planner ("ugh she's so annoying when she's doing a full-time job for free!") although the wedding she plans would end up being very different. smeyer is all about bella getting everything she wants, having her cake and eating it too. other characters frequently put bella first even when that doesn't make sense at all. alice only exists in the story as a deus ex machina and to be an idealized best friend for bella, so of course they'd stay friends (and the entire wolf pack is just...cool with it somehow because bella's the Main Character.)
if we're true to the characters: no. although bella calls alice her best friend, if we look at what we're told vs shown, alice is actually edward's best friend. when it comes down to it, she's in his corner 100%. I think if bella had chosen jacob over edward, alice would see planning their wedding as a betrayal, something she's rubbing in edward's face (to say nothing of the fact that jacob wouldn't want her involved. he and bella would probably have a huge fight over whether to even invite her.) if alice and bella continued to be friends, it would be in more of a penpal or "only at school" capacity, so that bella isn't all up in the cullen house making edward emo and alice isn't stepping on the treaty's toes.
of course there are a lot of other factors here, especially timing—do bella and jacob get together in NM or in eclipse? is victoria still a thing? do the pack and the cullens still have to team up and fight the newborn army? a lot of the things that brought the pack and the cullens closer together and put them on the same team were a direct result of edward and bella being together (cough resume cough.) take that away, and relations cool off considerably (plus the cullens have no reason to stick around in forks.)
and even with all of that, jacob and alice didn't interact with anything other than open hostility until like halfway through BD, when they bonded over hating resume (high five.) I can't imagine him being like “yeah sure, of course your nice fun bougie bloodsucker bff can plan our wedding, sounds great”

New fanfic for Twilight. A little choppy and amateurish because I'm more focused on other things and didn't work too much on this one.

what makes me actually boil with rage is the way it’s framed as though jacob & the cullens have an even rivalry and like, he hates them just as much as they hate him, but like… jacob is a lower class kid who lives on the rez, the cullens live in a plantation home on private property. jacob calling alice a leech is an insult, but alice calling him a mongrel calls into power and privilege, ya know. like am i supposed to honestly think jake making blonde jokes to rosalie (which is certainly sexist and uncalled for) is on the same level as her serving him food in a dog dish? him seeing the cullens as bloodsuckers and murderers is just like, incorrect and unfair, but them seeing him as uncivilized and over-aggressive has implications deeply rooted in the oppression of his people

Twilight Review 2.0(Books 1-3)
Reading Twilight, book 1, was a drag. I read it because my father liked it(and he often dismisses very disturbing romance tropes as "how girls are nowadays, I guess" because he doesn't understand girls a lot of the time), and I wanted to see what he liked. And he wanted me to read it.
I went into it thinking that I was going to hate the guts out of that thing, because from what I've heard, I hated Edward and Bella, and in my mind everyone else was just inconsequential in the book.
But in the book that's not how it was portrayed at all! The side characters intrigued me at first but there could have been way better work into them. The romance bored and annoyed the hell out of me, as did the male lead. The main character was a little relatable and interesting, but mostly she was dry, whiny, and generally cardboard.
I have book 1 a solid 2.9/5, deciding that it had an interesting premise and could have been so much better, but it was still boring and annoying.
Then I read New Moon. I liked it so much better, but it didn't change much. I liked reading about the werewolves and Jake, and even Bella's character deepened(though it shouldn't take a book and a half to see the actual personality and character in a character). I liked to see where Jake and Bella's relationship would go - I was certain they would be best friends, and if they somehow became lovers I would like it better. I was actually looking forward to reading the book! (Never again have I felt that for this series so far.) Then Edward came back - nothing I wasn't expecting, but nothing I was looking forward to. Things dragged on, and I found myself constantly thinking blahblahblah or whatever or okay cool but I don't care, can we get a move-on?.
I gave it a 3.9/5, because while it was better, it still had an interesting premise that could have been so much better and characters that could have been so much better, but instead was boring and annoying most of the time.
Now I was telling myself that I was reading it for my father, but if I really didn't want to read it as I was telling myself, I would put my foot down. I know how stubborn I am. But I just let myself think otherwise the whole time anyway because I had no answer for myself. I didn't know why I kept wanting to read it despite disliking it so much, despite how disappointing it was, and despite how much stress it gave me.
Next, I read Eclipse. It was okay-okay, but also annoying, boring, and had the potential to be better. I think I gave it somewhere between 3.0/5 and 3.5/5. It was just the same the whole time, just with varying degrees of satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
And then I realised: I wasn't reading Twilight for the thing itself. To a certain degree I was - I loved the characters(even Edward to an extent) - and the plot, I just believed that everything could have been so much better. And by everything, I mean everything from the whole overarching plot to the writing style. Stephenie Meyer clearly is not my type of author.
So what was I reading it for?
Well, I have a habit of reading Goodreads reviews of my favourite stories, the good and the bad reviews. The good ones were all fantasising over Edward, and the bad ones were complaining about Edward, to my disappointment. But a little more digging, going beyond Goodreads(but also using Goodreads), to ao3 and to far places, I discovered people like me, who disliked, loved, and pitied Jacob in the same way. And there were people like me, who liked Twilight for what it may have been.
So just because I have so many Twilight fanfic ideas, doesn't mean I like it, okay? I just like what it could have been...
Conclusion: Twilight could have been better; it had the potential to.
