This is just so amazing and touching: It's a video of the Buffy cast who's a part of the "Slayers" audiobook talking about how excited they are to be back and how much it means to them (Christopher Golden, one of the authors, too, who has a history writing for the Buffyverse).
Amber Benson tearing up at the end? I can't. I can't!

I never understood what made your lips on my neck such an intimate affair until your teeth grazed my pulse and I realized you could tear open my throat and make me bleed out in your arms, but instead you chose to kiss.

Slayers: A Buffyverse Story
Release date: October 12, 2023.
Original cast members from the beloved TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, reunite for an all-new adventure about connections that never die — even if you bury them. A decade has passed since the epic final battle that concluded Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV). The game-changing spell that gave power to all potential Slayers persists. With new Slayers constantly emerging, things are looking grim for the bad guys. Rebellious vampire Spike is working undercover in Los Angeles with his old pal Clem when he meets feisty, rookie Slayer, Indira, who wants Spike to be her mentor. Stakes intensify as Cordelia Chase emerges from an alternate reality where she alone is the Slayer, and Buffy Summers doesn’t exist. Cordelia enlists Spike’s help with a classic big bad terrorizing her world…his ex, Drusilla. Giles, Anya, Jonathan, and Tara also return, but through the years and the vastness of the multiverse, not everyone is who they used to be…
Writers: Christopher Golden, Amber Benson.
Starring: James Marsters as Spike; Laya DeLeon Hayes as Indira; Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia; Emma Caulfield as Anya and Anyanka; Amber Benson as Tara; James Charles Leary as Clem; Juliet Landau as Drusilla; Anthony Head as Giles; Phina Oruche as Olivia; and Danny Strong as Ghost Jonathan.
Also Featuring: Julia Cho as Ms. Bang; Josh Petersdorf as Kurgan; Juno Dawson as Miranda; Jessica Gardner as Amy Madison; Cheryl Umana as Zantina; Joshua McClenney as Rahim; Denise Pickering as Buzz; Glenda Morgan Brown as Esther; Jasmine Hyde as Althenea; and Michael Swan.

Big news today about "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as the show teamed up with Audible to record a new story called "Slayers" that centered on Spike 20 years after the show ended and he's helping out a new teenage slayer Indria in LA pretending to be a villain again. While trying to find a watcher they get caught up exposing a multiverse and in a new reality were Cordelia became the slayer instead of Buffy and the big bad is Drucilla!!! :D The story was written by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden, and James Marsters, Chrisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, and Danny Strong are all back in their roles and newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes voices Indria.
They're going to be at New York Comic Con next month too revealing more about this and makes me wonder if others will be in the story too that they'll announce there. This story does remind me a bit of some of my old "Buffy" novels that was a 4 part series that included Buffy being trapped in another universe and us seeing one on the show before too. Also curious if what happened in the comics also happened in this story as well and what they'll mention about the other characters, and if this gets a print version as some of Audible's stories have.
The story premiere's October 12th and their NYCC panel is the next day the 13th.

As ardent fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, we were overjoyed when we learned about the release of Slayers: A Buffyverse Story. This wasn't just another offshoot for us; it was a chance to reconnect with characters that had become like family, brought back to life by many of the original artists who made them so beloved in the first place. These characters, many of whom were taken from us in the original run of the show, were given new stories, and their voices were empowered and strong, it was the story we needed and wanted. And the fans responded, making Slayers a huge success!
However, our joy turned into disappointment when we learned that a second season for Slayers has been blocked by Disney. We believe this would be an immense loss not only for us fans but also for the creators, and those who could potentially discover this universe through this series.
Disney holds the power to greenlight another season (or more) of Slayers: A Buffyverse Story. By doing so they would honor the legacy of one television’s most influential shows, and artists who were part of its creation, while giving voice once again to characters who have meant so much to countless viewers around the world.
We urge Disney not only as fans but as individuals whose lives have been touched by these stories – please give Slayers another season! With Benson and Golden as writers and producers, as it is their vision and voices we want to follow.
Sign this petition if you too want Disney to allow them to continue telling these empowering stories in our beloved Buffyverse!

#OTD in 1858 – The Irish Republican Brotherhood was co-founded by James Stephens in Dublin.
The original IRB oath, as quoted by Thomas Clarke Luby and John O’Leary, and which is among several versions in James Stephens’s own papers, ran: ‘I, AB., do solemnly swear, in the presence of Almighty God, that I will do my utmost, at every risk, while life lasts, to make [other versions, according to Luby, establish in’] Ireland an independent Democratic Republic; that I will yield implicit…

You know what I really love about ‘Slayers: A Buffyverse Story’? The fact everyone in it aside from Laya Deleon Hayes are returning to their characters and roles because they really miss playing them.
Like I’m maybe being a bit presumptuous with this because it’s a small company but I can’t imagine the pay is very good. But I don’t think it’s about pay for any of them. They’re doing this because they truly want to. They miss their characters enough to want to.
Especially James Marsters. I swear that guy just does not quit with being involved in absolutely everything to do with the Buffyverse when it comes to the fandom and fan service. He is honestly there for everything. It’s a bit mad actually but I love him for it.
As I said before. You won’t see the big names joining because they’re all about the money and that’s their right. There’s nothing wrong with that of course. But I do have a lot of love and respect for this rag tag lot that has been put together to do this project primarily because they want to. Because they’re passionate.
INTERVIEWER: “Why and why now?”
AMBER BENSON: “I think the world has gone kind of bananas recently and, (and I say recently - I mean the last 5 years) I think we need more stories of powerful women on both sides of the dark and the light. And I think it’s really important that we, that we sort of - we show women doing powerful things. Taking control of their own destinies and making the world a better place. And I think that sometimes you just need to leave your cruddy, like cruddy day and live in this world with us. And I think that’s the best you can do with entertainment. You can take people and give them a wonderful experience where they feel magic and power and they just want to live there with us.”
I also love what Christopher Golden said about Druscilla’s goal in this story is that she just wants to make the world a better place from her perspective of it. You know - giving all vampires this paradise where they can all thrive in the sun together as a society. That’s kind of lovely in seeing it from her perspective. And yeah - it’s totally something both Spike and Dru would do. Not try to destroy the world but “save” it.

Finally had a good attention span moment and listened to Slayers: A Buffyverse Story on Audible (it’s a gripping 8 hours which I pretty much binged on). So taking the opportunity to post my #nycc @newyorkcomiccon pictures from the panel. In alpha: Amber Benson, Charisma Carpenter, Emma Caulfield Ford, James Charles Leary, Juliet Landau, James Marsters, Laya DeLeon Hayes and writer and director, Christopher Golden (#AmberBenson co-wrote and directed it with him). They all were delightful.

NYCC 2023: Slayers: A Buffyverse Story Roundtable Interview
Let me just get something out of the way real quickly. I’m a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I grew up with the series, and it definitely helped inform my tastes and sense of humor. So much so that I still think fondly about it and the cast that helped make it so amazing. Which brings us to NYCC 2023. I got an opportunity to attend a panel for Slayers: A Buffyverse Story, and ask questions…
