Some Came Running (Vincente Minnelli, 1958) Cast: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Shirley MacLaine, Martha Hyer, Arthur Kennedy, Nancy Gates, Leora Dana, Betty Lou Keim, Larry Gates. Screenplay: John Patrick, Arthur Sheekman, based on a novel by James Jones. Cinematography: William H. Daniels. Art direction: William A. Horning, Urie McCleary. Film editing: Adrienne Fazan. Music: Elmer Bernstein. Like Douglas Sirk, Vincente Minnelli had a special touch with the movie melodrama, taking its often objectively silly elements seriously enough that you can actually believe in them. The James Jones novel on which the screenplay for Some Came Running was based is one of those semi-autobiographical books that writers seem to need to get out of their systems, but adapting it meant challenging the Production Code strictures, particularly on sex, at almost every turn. So the characters in the film are only as believable as the actors can make them. There's a lot of shorthand in the film about the relationships between Dave Hirsh (Frank Sinatra) and the two women in his life, the "schoolteacher" Gwen French (Martha Hyer) and the "floozie" Ginnie Moorehead (Shirley MacLaine). It's not immediately clear why Dave falls in love so swiftly with Gwen, who seems to want to mentor him as a writer more than she does to sleep with him, or why he stays connected with the illiterate and rattle-brained Ginnie, to the extent of marrying her on the rebound from Gwen. Fortunately, all three actors are adept at pulling characters out of the script, where they don't seem to have been fully written. Dean Martin was just beginning to show that he could act -- Howard Hawks would complete the process the following year with Rio Bravo -- and Minnelli helped give his career a boost by casting him as the alcoholic gambler Bama Dillert. And Arthur Kennedy completes the ensemble as Dave's go-getter older brother, Frank. Minnelli makes the most of these colorful performers, to the extent that MacLaine, Kennedy, and Hyer all received Oscar nominations. But he's also adept, as he would show in 1960 with Home From the Hill, at taking a real small town location and bringing it to full life, especially in the climactic scene that takes place in the carnival celebrating the town's centennial. The location gives the film a substance and reality that the script never quite supplies.

i'm super new to nopixel and need people to watch. i kinda want small streams though.
I'll split this into doctor main, pd main, and crim main. I'll do less than 500 average viewers a stream too. This is gonna be lengthy, so more after jump!
Doctor:
Senor_Nerdy plays Dr. Jeremy Rivera. I put him here, but he has a character that is part of the Wastelanders too. Dr. Jeremy is bisexual too, and Nerdy is very welcoming to LGBT+ viewers too. I am a founder in his Twitch chat.
DragonDoctor_ is Dr. Laurence Nightingale. His streams are extremely rare, but absolutely worth the watch. Laurence is undergoing a lot of medical testing for his extreme kidney disease he has, and will likely be getting a kidney for.
PD:
remdogg is Alex Suarez of the LSPD. He is the newest shining star in the PD. He is certified to use the Interceptors as well as the Motor units. CG along with some of the larger shift 2 gangs can be seen on his stream. So if you don't like CG, it's best to stay away. I am currently subbed to him.
s0upes is Silas Grimmer of the SDSO. He is the leader of the BTF and #1 supporter of everything anti-SCU. Silas absolutely hates fellow Sgt Rustin Cooper. He loves to call him “Butter Hair” and “Pooper.” s0upes has been on a variety kick lately which is always fun to watch too. He tends to mald over crosswords too.
OwenSeven is Owen Svensen of the SDSO. He is the #1 griefer when it comes to Sheriff Toretti. He is currently doing a bit where he doesn’t like Toretti’s girlfriend because she takes away valuable bro time. He is probably getting promoted to Captain next week, so ayyy. He plays a lot of League of Legends with some of the other members of PD too. He has also recently been playing on the RDR2 RP server WildRP. I am currently subbed to him.
onebaw is Kraven Moorehead of the SDSO. He also has a crim character that is a hang around for Mayhem, which is the MC up in Paleto. Kraven’s always suffering dealing with his on and off again girlfriend, and fellow SDSO deputy, Philomena, or Me. He just recently made solo cadet, so he’s been working hard to get to full Deputy. Baw has also been playing on WildRP a lot.
GeneralEmu is Lance Malton of the LSPD. He is the current Assistant Chief of Police, which means only Chief Baas is higher up on the food chain. He is the OG motor cop on the server dating back to 2.0 when Malton’s Motorcycles was a thing. You can usually catch him doing motor patrol or looking for Bundy to demote him back to Captain. He plays on WildRP, and plays League with Owen occasionally.
RobotNinjaPants is Hunter Cross of the PBSO. He also has a crim character named Bernie that he frequents, and he plays former DA Jacob Slate. Cross recently made full deputy after a long time of being a cadet. Slate has woke up recently and has been getting information on how to get his Bar license back after he was disbarred because of a situation with the DA’s office and the PD. I am subbed to him.
neskrp plays Havey Holden of the LSPD. He is a former EMT trainee and former DOC worker. Harvey is a solo cadet, and is close to getting full Officer. He played disgraced DOC second in command Oliver Crawford. Crawford was thrown in prison for rights violations against the prison lifers. Crawford eventually became crim. He went insane and killed his mentor. While he was in prison waiting for the court case for the murder, he was going to kill Eryn Carter, who took his second in command spot after he was fired. He was eventually shot, and died because of his injuries. Harvey is just like Crawford and sees Bundy as a role model. I am subbed to him.
Duroode is James McTavish of the LSPD. McTavish is a full officer. He is also a probie in SCU. McTavish used to be part of DOC command before he made the jump to PD. His streams are extremely cozy, and I am subbed to him.
Crim:
SpekCypher plays Luis Fernandez of the HOA. Dude is super underrated, but his streams are super cozy and def worth watching if you love that goofy criminal style the HOA has.
Chalupa_Pants plays Julio Thomas of the HOA. He is the "Mad Dog of Mirror Park." He is third in command of the HOA, and is super chaotic. He has a cop character named Marco Holliday too. A Holliday stream is kind of a rare treat because he mains Julio, but both characters are absolutely worth the watch. I'm subbed to him as well.
Chatterbox plays Chatterbox the Clown. His real name is Jagger Gerardy. Chatterbox has a very sad backstory of abuse that is worth the read if you go on the wiki. Chatterbox hates swearing, small jail cells, and bright lights. The person who plays Chatterbox does the voice without a voice changer too. Chatterbox is very chaotic, and likes to break into MRPD. He has a whole gang of clowns that he is the leader of as well. His criminal style is super goofy, and Chatterbox takes the punches and is currently almost minus a million dollars in his bank account from all the charges he gets daily.
JakkaRP is Jakka Romano. He has a couple other characters including an EMT and a janitor for the SDSO, but his main is Jakka. Jakka has an unhealthy obsession with stalking members of SCU and their loved ones. He is currently serving a life sentence in prison, but he has the chance for parole in 60 years (days). He has gone to Parsons a couple of times as well. He's an absolutely wonderful character who uses things like music and recordings to extend the RP.
MasterMisuri is Jesus of the HOA. Jesus is in a high tier role at the Tuner Shop. Jesus is known for his questionable relationships. When he was dating Izzy Carrington, she stole a bunch of money out of his bank account with the message “Fuck you, Jesus.” Jesus is known for his knowledge of everything that goes down in Los Santos, as well as having tea on essentially almost every person in the city. Jesus only speaks English to people he trusts, so his streams are bilingual. Jesus, and Misuri are both an absolute delight. Misuri also has a cop character that is part of the PBSO which he speaks only English on. I am subbed to him.
GumbyMMA is Gumbus McGoo of the HOA. Gumbus is also the co-owner of the Pawnhub pawn store. If he isn’t at Pawnhub, or the HOA’s turf in Mirror Park, you can usually find Gumbus around random members of PD fucking with them. He is super close with Roy Armstrong of the SDSO too. Gumby likes to play variety too on the weekends when most of the HOA members are sleeping. Gumbus is a convicted terrorist as well, so there’s that. I am subbed to him.
