Aha there really isn’t a whole lot to say about Ada cuz I haven’t developed her XD; She was inspired by a dream where it turned out Eggman had a daughter all along but kept quiet about her because he had too many enemies. But she would often visit him at his bases when he wasn’t in the middle of some world-conquering scheme and he was a REALLY doting and devoted papa. She liked to carry a big camera around her neck (a big polaroid camera) on the off-chance of running into celebrities and was big on photography in general. In the dream she was currently staying at Eggman’s base and Sonic broke in for some reason even though it was unwarranted. He spotted Ada and tried to “save” her thinking she was a hostage. He was confused as all hell when she whipped out her camera, snapped his photo and started pestering him for his autograph while calling for her daddy *lol* As I recall her and Metal also had a big brother/little sister sort of relationship. I know he was in the dream at some point but I don’t remember it clearly. If I ever roleplay or write her into something I’d develop her more but that’s really all I’ve got for her. She kind of resembled a shorter plumper and ginger Maria with thick glasses and huge messy pigtails and freckles all over her face

*LOTR meme* After all, why shouldn't I? Why shouldn't I share this infamous piece of Sonic fandom history? Contrary to popular belief, this is not from an official comic. This is page number 15 of issue 2 of the fancomic Sonic Eggs, part of the greater Emerald Coast Comics, of which I was one of the various colorists involved. I forget who Sonic Eggs was written by and due to most of the site being gone I'm having difficulty finding it - I was to say it was nuckles87? Please correct me if I'm wrong. In any event, Sonic Eggs was meant to serve as a fan continuation of the Sonic X comic in much the same spirit as StC-O and ASO are for Sonic the Comic and Pre-Reboot Archie respectively. Also contrary to popular belief, that is not Shadow. It's one of his android clones who had a very different personality from the real Shadow. His name was Shades and he was a sensitive happy-go-lucky softie. Tracy Yardley was commissioned to pencil several of its pages with Ben Hunzeker commissioned as their colorist. Due to circumstances, Hunzeker was unable to complete all of Yardley's pages, and thus I was chosen for the privilege. This was actually one of two of Yardley's pages I was privileged to color. Little did I know the impact this page would end up having on the fandom. You know what? Fuck it.

The other day I saw all my friends reblogging a post from each other wherein you post things you think about the person you’re reblogging from. It’s the game that was going around where I mentioned that I thought it looked fun but I felt inherently outside of it, for some reason. I’m sure on some level part of me was worried about people thinking I was trying to get attention (something I constantly struggle with) and I’m sure another part of me was worried people might not respond and solidify my position on the outside.

But you know what? It’s been on my mind these few days because I don’t like that I gave in and just watched from the sideline, because nevermind my issues with myself, I really wanted to say things about everyone else. I don’t want my insecurity to hold me back from saying all the nice things I think about my friends, because I firmly believe it’s never a poor time to be kind.

SO FUCK IT. I’m not reblogging the post, I’m just going to write some things about my friends below the cut. Reblog my post and say what you want about me if you want to, or don’t if you don’t want to. But I’m going to say the things because I’d rather be kind than afraid.

@fini-mun -- Amusingly enough I almost feel like it’s futile to write this blurb about you, because you probably already know what I’m going to say before I say it. What can I possibly tell you about our relationship that I haven’t already said? You inspire me every day and make me want to keep being better tomorrow than I am today. You make me laugh and I can trust you with -ANYTHING- and you teach me new stuff all the time. Even when we have bad times, they’re the best bad times I’ve ever had. I love having that absolute security that, no matter what, it’ll still be you and me.

@gojira007 -- You are perhaps the most supportive person I’ve ever met. It’s an amazing quality that I hope never fades, because your ability to be such a relentlessly positive person has helped bring me up from dark places before, and if it’s happened for me I imagine it’s happened for others too. You just... have this LIGHT around you that shines so brightly whenever you open your mouth. You always have a kind word and a thumbs up to offer whenever we speak. Your cheerleading has given me so much energy to accomplish so many things; all of our friends that love my ‘tv shows’ had better send you thank you messages right now, because your amazing feedback on each and every episode is 95% of the reason I’ve managed to keep this shit up for so long.

@elias-mun -- I know that we started calling each other ‘squirrel siblings’ because of the coincidence of our usernames, but we’ve gotten to the point where I really do feel like I have a sibling-like bond with you. I’m the sort of person that finds it difficult to regularly communicate with with more than like 5 people at a time, but you’ve wiggled your way into that core group, and I’m really glad that you have. We have so much more in common than I ever expected, you’ve comforted me when I was hurting, and you’ve been SO supportive while we’ve both learned about our autism.

@robotnik-mun -- I love seeing you on my dash because I feel like, no matter how silly or geeky the subject matter, you always make smart posts. I enjoy essays and analyses, and I like the way you present your ideas and work them until you reach your conclusion. When I read your posts I feel like I always get a laugh while also getting a unique point of view and, often enough, I get to learn something to boot.

@kismeti -- I don’t know if you know this, but for a very long time (until very recently, honestly) I considered you out of my league. I regarded you as this incredibly talented individual that’s busy doing creative things and doesn’t need me in their face, so I was content to just watch you from a distance or hear about you from Fini-mun. I was honestly really surprised when you started leaving comments on my posts because, well, it just had never even occurred to me that something I made or something I had to say might be worth your time. Now that I’m over that barrier, I really love seeing your art and the glimpses at your WIP, and even just the little random one-liners you post now and then. It’s just really a joy to be in your presence.

@nuttyrabbit -- Your passion is infectious. You have a point of view and you’re not afraid to talk about it, and even though I sometimes find myself at odds with your specific points, I admire the fact that you’re so bold and confident with saying exactly what you mean. That’s part of why it means so much to me when you take the time to leave me feedback, because I know how up-front you are with your ideas and I know that if you say something, you definitely mean it. I wish we talked more often, but a lot of times I (irrationally) feel a need to stay out of your way. Hopefully I can fix that in the future.

@jammerlee -- Ahh, one of the original asstwins. I’m glad that we haven’t drifted apart over the years, and even though we’ve gone through periods of being more and less close, the link is still there. That’s hard to come by in this day and age, and I’m grateful for that. I like that our fandoms aren’t exactly the same because I enjoy seeing it from your point of view from time to time, because otherwise it’s one I never would’ve gotten on my own. I know we don’t chat so much now, but I’m glad that I know that I can just drop a random yo in your window whenever I want.

@holymicrobots -- I’m sorry Nia but I’ll always think of you as the GeoffHersh queen first and foremost above anything else! You’re one of the most genuinely sweet and gentle people I know, and anytime I talk to you I know I’m going to come away smiling. I enjoy your dashboard commentary and I look forward to each one whenever there’s shenanigans afoot!

@ninjakasuga -- I’m sorry that I don’t always reply to the messages you send me, but sometimes I just simply like having them there in my inbox. I’m always impressed with how often you’re willing to reach out, sometimes over things that I didn’t really think anyone would take notice of. You have a great sense of humor but you’re also very comforting when the mood turns somber, and you’re so conscious of my boundaries and I appreciate that so much. I know we don’t talk terribly often, but I like knowing that you notice me, and I hope you know I notice you too.

No, they really don’t, nor do they want to. They refuse to unglue themselves from the idea that because Penders got away with shit back in the day, it MUST mean that subsequent creators have similar free reign. Penders himself encourages it, even recently calling Flynn and Jon Grey ‘corporate toadies’ for actually daring to actually obey the wishes of their employers.
