Episode 2 ~ Bound By Blood

Narrator: Life could certainly be better for Julius Tourneau but he was a man coming to realize that what gave life meaning was the people you surround yourself with and he could not have picked a better wife than Jana. Sure, he didn't see her as much as Maria who was always around him but when they did come together they often enjoyed each other's company. Tonight they decided to share a dance.

His relationship with Jana had been rocky at first, she agreed to marry him because she understood how it would raise her reputation among other vampires but she did not agree to become one of his multiple wives. She didn't sign up for that but over the years he had done a great job of convincing her that it wasn't so bad because he treated her like royalty which is what she desired most.

Unlike Tabitha she was allowed to play politics and had a seat on the council. She was allowed to be the enterprising woman she always wanted to be and unlike Maria she was well, free. The redhead had basically been a puppet of Julius, a happy and content one to be sure but a puppet all the same.

"I do like our current plan," she said as they grew tired of dancing. Not physically tired, they were vampires after all, but having he had a desire to hold her and she had a desire to be held. 

"I'll do anything to keep you all alive," he said softly. This was his weak point she knew. Since Violante had killed his father and so close to killing his mother he knew that he was vulnerable. The dysfunction of the council and Caleb's constant adversarial position to his was a minor distraction to the immediate threat the Blood Roses posed.

A mostly mysterious group led by an ex-lover of his and a hunter  named Violante who had chased obsessed over killing him for decades now. He had devised a plan to crush the Roses and he felt like finally things were falling into place.

"Tullus will deliver her right to you," Jana said, a smirk on her lips, knowing that once again her husband would win in the end. He always won.

759) Willemsfonds - nazwany na cześć Jana Fransa Willemsa - organizacja kulturalna non-profit założona w XIX wieku w celu promowania kultury i języka flamandzkiego w Belgii.
