Patton is the rich aristocrat who decides to give up his life of leisure and become a pirate captain. Loves adventure, fancy outfits and being the dad to his very confused crew.
Roman is Pattons scribe who wildly embellishes their actual adventures to make them more ~dramatic~ when not helping Patton with his relationship woes he can be found avoiding actual pirate work and sketching all the cute sailors
Vigil is a legendary pirate who is board of his own reputation as a blood thirsty bad guy and is weirdly drawn to (/immediately hopelessly besotted with) Patton and his insane but wholesome way of doing things.
Logan is Virgil’s right hand man who is the only one who seems to actually know how to sail a boat and can’t understand WHY Virgil has suddenly lost his mind and is acting completely illogical. Short and filled with rage.
Absolutely dying over the fact that Remus not only canonically hangs out in dark closets for no apparent reason but also that Janus knows to look for him there
virgil: loyalty. he will always find the line of fire to throw himself in. he will always find who needs to be shielded. he is loyal to a fault, as any guard dog would be. after all, who else will?
logan: pride. he holds his sense of pride and dignity among all else. he can not ask for help, he can not risk damaging that pride. he must be perfect. because there is nothing left in him but perfection
patton: principle. he will follow his principles and morals to death and then some. he has no sense of when they dont apply, when its too far to act in moral. he will die a martyr before live a sinner.
roman: ambition. reaching for the stars is his only path he must be great, he must be amazing. he can be imperfect but he must be memorable. he must do something great with himself. a humble life is one he cant live.
remus: apathy. he can not care. the world doesnt matter to him its not beneath him but he isnt touching it. if the world is water he is oil. he can not care. nothing is ever real to him.
janus: cunning. nothing can be real, nothing can be genuine. everything is a game. everything is a trade. when you are deceit, trust can not exist. loyalty without reason is a fools game. nothing is for its own sake.
Janus talks to both Remus and oddly Logan like they are actual literal pet dogs ("here boy," ooowh of course you don't," etc) and for intruloceit reasons I will think about this forever.
Incorrect quotes are all that I am capable of these past few days apparently so here we go
Logan: We've got to find a way to cut down our expenses. What can we live without?
Virgil: Janus, probably.
Roman: I would say I outdid myself, but I’m always this good, so I simply did myself.
Roman: What happened?!
Logan: Do you want the long version or the short version?
Roman: Sh-short??
Logan: Shit's fucked.
Roman: Okay, long.
Logan: Shit's very fucked.
Janus: Now, the recipe calls for 2 shots of vodka.
Janus: *upends the bottle*
Logan: Smart is attractive. Educate me on something I don't know!
Remus: The mouth of a jellyfish is also an anus.
Logan: Stop.
Patton: I knew this day would come... I saw it on the calendar :D
Remus: Two bros!
Virgil: Chillin' in a hot tub!
Remus and Virgil, in unison: Zero feet apart 'cause we're GAY AS FUCK!
Virgil: Guys! I found a 100 dollar bill!
Virgil: *looks around* ….Should I keep it?
Patton: Virgil, just do the right thing.
Janus: And put in your bag.
Patton: No—
Things Sanders Sides Characters Absolutely Have Said
Remus, with a headache: Advil me up, daddy.
Logan: I will short out the language centre of your brain if you say anything like that ever again.
-
Logan: Janus, this morning, I called you abhorrent and reprehensible, and I’d like to withdraw that statement-
Janus: Aww, thanks-
Logan: But I can't. Those are the 2 words that best describe you.
-
Roman: Enough! How dare you mock me in such a manner!?
Janus: Well. How would you like me to mock you? I take requests.
-
Logan: How long do you think it'll take?
Virgil: I don’t know, three or four.
Logan: Three or four what? Days? Weeks? Months?
Virgil: Yeah, maybe five.
Logan: Five what?!
-
Virgil: So are you gonna explain how the hell you crashed my car?
Logan: Well we were driving and there was a deer in the road, so I said "Patton, deer!"
Virgil: ...And what did Patton do?
Logan: ...He said "Yes, Honey?"
-
Roman: There's no way he cares about any of us.
Thomas: Remus would throw himself in front of a moving car for us!
Roman: Remus would throw himself in front of a moving car for fun.
-
Patton: Where the devil is Janus?
Virgil: Well, it is raining outside... Maybe he melted?
Roman: Shall I look outside for a pointy hat?
-
Patton: That's it, you're grounded! Roman, no adventures for you! Logan, no debating for you! Janus, no stealing for you! And Virgil... oh my god, is there anything that you love?
Virgil: Revenge.
Patton: No vengeance for you.
Virgil: I was going to say "I'll get you for this," but I guess that's off the table.
In “putting others first - selfishness vs. selflessness redux” everyone gets mad at roman for being mean and not trusting deceit, but in the first selfishness vs. selflessness everyone was mad at roman for trusting deceit.
roman gets mad that everyone took deceits side over his and i feel like he’s valid. sure was roman mean for making fun of deceits name? yeah a little.
but i feel like it’s also okay for roman to be mad that he was always told he had to be selfless then someone nobody trusts comes along and says he’s allowed to be selfish and he’s just expected to trust that!??
he trusted patton and patton destroys that in one episode. then roman is just not allowed to be mad??? also the comment “roman if remus didn’t have a mustache i wouldn’t be sure who the evil twin is,” and NOBODY standing up for roman.
this means that roman sunk down thinking patton and thomas agree. which honestly we are never told contrary.
again patton asked him to go back on everything he was taught abt selflessness and he was supposed to do that in like what? 30 minutes??? in conclusion the way roman is treated is incredibly unfair in s vs. s redux and he doesn’t deserve all the hate he got.
