Ms. McClure gathered everyone and told them the rules of the house.

All students must attend school, no skipping

Curfew was 11pm sharp. This included visitors to the house. Ms. McClure would be checking in each night with the students.

Quiet hours between midnight and 6am.

She would also be by frequently to check on them - she lived next door. She would also handle any disputes

Anyone breaking the rules would be immediately ejected from the house.

Then she smiled and said that she hoped they would all succeed in school and learn a little bit about living in the real world.

I actually wanted to do a cute pose of the teens together but man, pose mods was not something I was interested in using (I think some look super weird). But I spent a few hours researching, trying to figure out how to use it and then realizing there is not a lot of pose packs for 5 Sims that are not families and I'm not talented/motivated enough to make them myself. (ones I really wanted were on TSR, which I do not like at all and when I tried to download it, it errored out). I try to stick with creators I'm familiar with for any kind of mods/cc because I've been burned before.

This one by ratboysims was the best but I don't like how Iggy and Ari look at all.

This one didn't fit the personalities of my teens either (I mean, it's ratboysims Twilight pack)

Anyway I'll keep trying. this won't go up for several days but if you know of any pose packs for 5 friends let me know. But for now I'll stick with the EA poses.

The next morning, things weren't any better between Jazz & Felicity

Laia tried to talk to Felicity about it but Felicity just ranted how they were BFF and Laia spent all her time with Jazz instead.

Laia tried to explain that people could have more than one best friend and lately, with Felicity off with Peter a lot, she just hung around with Jazz more.

Felicity was still upset and stormed out.

Even though Jazz does not have him for a teacher, he heard that Mr. Morlind was creative & into music. He wanted to ask if he could start his own club for the creative arts - music, acting and dancing. Mr.Morlind said unfortunately EA Copperdale High doesn't allow outside group gathering but suggested that upstairs at the ThrifTea would be a perfect place to meet. And he offered to be a mentor to all the members to improve their skills.

Since the next day was Saturday, he held his first meeting! He knew Cassandra & Ash were both creative and Kevin and Darling loved to sing. And when chatting a very quiet person in class, he found out that Ari had a famous musician for a mom and played guitar. So he invited them to join.

I had heard that Zerbu's All World Residential mod allowed club meetings at the high school but I couldn't get it to work. So I just added to the ThrifTea space and think it really worked out.

I haven't had a lot of time to play lately but I wanted to thank @mdianasims for finding me a pose for my teens - I never use poses but I suddenly wanted a cute shot a few days ago. I got so frustrated with searching and finding only TSR and other bad links. So thank you so much!

I don't normally talk about my real life on here - it's not very interesting - but I did get to babble about the Sims on the (knitting) podcast I host this week. It won't be out for another week but it was fun to talk about it with my bemused cohost & producer. It was mainly about the knitting pack (of course) which came up in a conversation with our mutual friends on twitter. And we didn't have much to else to talk about this week.

This was such a shock to all the teens - after Felicity's football practice, they all met up at the brand new bowling alley near the school.

They couldn't believe their luck! Living on their own for the entire term!

And that's it for the Teenage Kick series. This was a lot of fun and I really loved these teens. I may go back to Laia & Jazz to play their college years; I left all the TK sims in positions to go forward - except of Iggy of course since I already did that series.

It feels strange to have a full ending to a series...usually they just sorta peter out.

But I'm excited for something new now.

Some of my thoughts and opinions on HSY below the cut (and mods I used to fix the weirdness).

I enjoyed HSY more than I though I would - I think it will be something to incorporate in every gameplay going forward, even if I don't live in Copperdale (note: I can't tell you how many times I've called it Cooperfield or Cooperdale). Honestly, it's just nice to have something different for the teens, easily the most boring age to me. (now it's kids because I've played all the aspirations so many times).

I didn't have any of the game breaking bugs - never had an issue was saving, etc - but there were many annoyances. Thank goodness for modders.

Sims randomly asking my active Sim - no matter who it is - to be BFFs/Prom Dates. This was so annoying, especially when they barge into houses to ask super inappropriate Sims, like kids. LittleMsSams's new mod really helped, though teens would still randomly barge into the house sometimes. If I saw them in the house, I just used MCCC to get them to leave.

Social Bunny Randomness. I got really annoyed by all the pillow fight or prom posts (that never happened) by my sims. I also hated the mean messages that would pop up from played sims that wouldn't happen or the bugs where my Sims would post messages to themselves. I hope they create more interesting posts - I haven't found a mod for it but I think they exist. I just stopped checking it in game. My teens only had other teens as friends so I didn't have the really inappropriate ones from adults or kids.

Constant playing on phones. Modded that immediately. I don't care if it's real life, it was annoying.

The active school classmates. I have Rex's ChooseYourClassmates mod but I couldn't get it to work. Didn't matter as much when I had all 5 of my teens going together but I tried a couple of times. Maybe I'm just dumb.

Wants/Fears. this didn't bother me as much - until Laia got her side hustle and nearly immediately got the "dead end job" fear. The fear of unfulfilled dreams was annoying - but eventually I could get it to go away when I'd finally get a want I could fulfill for them. But the dead end job was really annoying and I see it getting even more annoying with my usual gameplay. I did download MissHissy's Hopes & Fears mod so I hope that helps.

Other mods I used: Longer Prom (beichen), More BFF (@littlemssam - I actually had that one already TBH), Take Exam fix and Stop Changing Phone Color (@littlemssam again - I had forgotten I had immediately downloaded the phone one so this never has bothered me since the first week). There are probably others but those I feel gave me the best HSY experience.

Sweetheart Jazz enrolled in Britchester in the Fine Arts Distinguished degree. He would be living on campus in Drake Hall and is excited in becoming a famous musician - with an emphasis on jazz of course.

He was captain of the Chess team but didn't finish his aspiration - because none of the sidehustles really fit him.

Graduation!

Note: I had to retry it a couple of times - mainly because of the situational outfits going on & off. Finally I dressed each of them in a graduation outfit - which I preferred because I couldn't edit on Laia's hijab on the regular one anyway. They just couldn't throw their caps. It was also very empty, I couldn't get the invite family to work but whatever I don't know who those random kids are. But hey, I'm just glad it worked.

The next day, Laia & Jazz discovered they were accepted into the the Distinguished Degrees they wanted. Laia will be doing Drama for her Internet Personality goal while Jazz will be in Fine Arts for his dream of being a famous musician.
