La parola a Gianni Mendes Toniutti: "Te Amarè", ritmi latini per l'estate 2020

Abbiamo incontrato Gianni Mendes Toniutti, che per l'estate ha cantato e suonato  "Te Amarè, un brano perfetto per muoversi a tempo in modo spensierato. Gianni Mendes Toniutti non è solo un artista. Lavora con grande successo nel settore legale tra Italia e il mondo… e da sempre vive di musica. E' riuscito a trasformare il suo sogno in realtà e ha interpretato un canzone perfetta per l'estate 2020, un momento in cui tutti abbiamo bisogno di spensieratezza. E' "Te Amarè", ispirata ai ritmi latini e brasiliani, è un mix perfetto di canto, danza e chitarra. Il brano viaggia nello spirito dei ritmi da lui amati da sempre, sin dall'età di 10 anni. Fin da quell'età suona la chitarra. Suo padre era infatti uno strumentista appassionato e da casa sua passavano spesso artisti come  Sabicas, Andres Segovia e Felix de Utrera, che hanno fatto crescere in lui un grande amore per la musica.

In tv a "Le Iene" per raccontare una disavventura avuta con chi gli aveva promesso, sta comunque crescendo anche sui social, diventando un personaggio e un riferimento per chi ama mondanità e divertimento. Cresciuto a Bologna, madre brasiliana e padre italiano, nato in Brasile, si è laureato proprio a Bologna in diritto internazionale. Chi lo segue sui social sa che ama la bella vita e i viaggi... ma tutto questo per lui è anche o soprattutto lavoro: negli Stati Uniti è un avvocato molto noto, specializzato nel campo dell'immigrazione e tra i suoi clienti ci sono tanti personaggi di musica, sport, moda (...). E' anche decisamente attivo nel creare mode e tendenze. Una volta è entrato da Zara, a New York e ha fatto finta di essere un manichino umano: su Instagram ha totalizzato ben 260.000 visualizzazioni... e molti hanno scambiato la sua performance per una pubblicità di Zara.

Te Amarè si prepara ad essere il tormentone dell'estate 2020, sarà capace di risollevare l'umore di tutti?

"Questa è la mia maggiore speranza! Quando ho prodotto questa canzone con Tim Mitchell, il produttore di Shakira, il nostro obiettivo è stato fare una canzone che fosse la più esplosiva possibile.  Molto ritmo, allegria, e voglia di vivere sono gli elementi principali di Te Amaré.  È proprio ciò di cui abbiamo tutti bisogno dopo questi primi 7 mesi del 2020 che, diciamoci la verità, sono stati per tutti molto ma molto pesanti!"

Quali sono le caratteristiche del sound latino e perché piace così tanto?

"Il sound latino ha un ritmo straordinario, che ti trascina e ti fa ballare nel momento stesso in cui parte il primo colpo di cassa.  Le percussioni, la maniera in cui viene portata la batteria, è inconfondibile.  Non si pensi però che solo i Latini possano avere nel sangue questo ritmo contagiante. Nel singolo Te Amaré, incredibilmente, il batterista è un americano, Lee Levin.  Lee è famosissimo in America per essere stato il batterista di alcuni degli artisti latini più famosi al mondo, tra cui Christina Aguilera, Alejandro Sanz, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Eros Ramazzotti, e Shakira. L'importante, non è da dove vieni, ma che cosa senti dentro! "

Quale è stato il tuo impegno per realizzare singolo e video?

"È stato un impegno a 360 gradi.  Nel pezzo, ho registrato tutte le chitarre, la voce principale, le voci secondarie…ho poi anche partecipato alla produzione insieme a Tim Mitchell, anche se sotto quell'aspetto ho lasciato fare più a lui, che in materia di produzioni di successo ha una esperienza pazzesca, avendo vinto diversi Grammy con Shakira.  In una produzione, è importantissimo affidarsi a persone di cui ti fidi e hai stima, perché la loro opinione, a un certo punto, è più importante della tua. La persona esterna sentirà una canzone sempre in una maniera diversa da quella che l'ha composta.  E siccome, alla fine, la tua canzone deve piacere anche (e soprattutto) agli altri, è bene affidarsi a professionisti di livello affinché possano tirar fuori dalla tua canzone il meglio di essa".

Sappiamo che per la creazione di testo e video ti sei affidato a grandi esperti del settore, quale è stato il percorso?

"Per quanto riguarda il video, ho avuto un team di ragazzi che è venuto appositamente dall'Italia.  Hanno fatto un lavoro eccezionale, che credo non sarebbe stato facile replicare neanche qua in America, il paese dei videoclip musicali.  A livello musicale, come ti dicevo poc'anzi, hanno partecipato artisti di grande prestigio.  Oltre a Lee Levin, ha partecipato Guillermo Vadala (bassista di Alejandro Sanz, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Chayanne, e Laura Pausini) e Gilmar Gomes (percussionista di Jovannotti e Enrique Iglesias).  Testo e musica è tutto frutto mio!"

FEBBRAIO 2020

Questo febbraio è stato un mese decisamente strano. Un po’ spento, sotto tono, fiacco. Dicembre e gennaio sono stati due mesi molto impegnativi tra studio, esami e lavoro e ne sono uscita particolarmente stanca. Ho visto e letto meno di quanto avrei potuto e voluto fare, e ho avuto poca voglia e ispirazione per scrivere. Ho deciso comunque di buttare giù qualche parola rispetto ai film e libri che mi sono piaciuti di più, che magari amplierò più avanti.

THERE WILL BE BLOOD (Il Petroliere)

Oh, Daniel, you've come here and you’ve brought good and wealth, but you have also brought your bad habits as a backslider. You've lusted after women and you have abandoned your child. Your child that you raised, you have abandoned, all because he was sick and you have sinned, so say it now: "I am a sinner."

Un film incredibile che rivela uno dei lati più oscuri dell’animo umano: la sete di potere e l’avidità, capaci di trasformare un uomo rendendolo cieco di fronte alla violenza più folle e che non possono avere altro che un fine: il sangue. Perchè il protagonista, Daniel, trionfa nella sua scalata verso il potere, verso la ricchezza, ma pagandola a caro prezzo: la pazzia, la solitudine e la morte. Sono rimasta profondamente affascinata dall’interpretazione di Daniel Day-Lewis e di Paul Dano, quasi teatrale e di forte impatto.

UN ANNO SULL’ALTIPIANO 

Non è vero che l'istinto di conservazione sia una legge assoluta della vita. Vi sono dei momenti, in cui la vita pesa più dell'attesa della morte.

Semplice ma efficace e diretto. La scrittura di Lussu ti trasporta in trincea e ti permette di immergerti nella vera realtà della Grande Guerra: un grande paradosso, un continuo alternarsi di momenti di riposo, chiacchiere tra soldati, assalti e bombe a mano. I capitoli si susseguono tutti uguali, in una monotonia sulla quale pende costantemente la minaccia della morte, improvvisa, che può arrivare dal nemico così come da un generale in preda alla follia: impreparazione e inettitudine regnano sovrani tra gli alti gradi di comando, la vita dei soldati si svuota di ogni importanza e si riempie di inutile patriottismo, che è risultato nell’inutile morte di centinaia di persone.

MARRIAGE STORY

The dead part wasn’t dead, it was just in a coma. And it was better than the sex, the talking. Although the sex was also like the talking. You know, everything is like everything in a relationship. Don’t you find that? And, um, so, we spent the whole night and the next day together, and I just never left. Yes, to be honest, all the problems were there in the beginning too. But I just went along with him and his life because it felt so damn good to feel myself alive.

In Marriage Story ci sono solo Charlie e Nicole, Adam Driver e Scarlett Johansson, due interpretazioni meravigliose, e nient’altro. Niente ambientazioni incredibili, niente colpi di scena eclatanti. Ci sono solo i loro silenzi, i loro occhi colmi di lacrime sempre sul punto di uscire, i loro sguardi alla ricerca costante l’uno dell’altro, le parole urlate e le parole non dette, i piccoli gesti che ricordano che, nonostante tutto, l’amore rimane vivo, anche se la vita conduce su strade diverse, parallele che non erano destinate a rimanere insieme. É un film straziante, costruito attorno alla forza dei sentimenti che possono affievolirsi ma non si spengono mai, tutt’al più si trasformano, si nascondono e rimangono in attesa di mostrarsi, seppur sottilmente, alla prima occasione.

EUPHORIA

“I promise you. If I could be a different person, I would. Not because I want it, but because they do. But here's the thing. One day, I just showed up without a map or a compass, and at some point, you have to make a choice ... about who you are and what you want. And therein lies the catch.”

Un teen drama che ha senso e necessità di esistere. Ammetto di non aver visto molto del genere a causa di pregiudizio personale; per questo ero restia ad approcciarmi anche a questa serie che, tuttavia, mi ha colpita positivamente. L’atmosfera che crea tra musica, colori, psichedelia, droghe e alcol, sospesa in una dimensione di nostalgia e depressione, è travolgente. Ti trasporta in un mondo di adolescenti in piena scoperta di sè stessi, del proprio corpo, del sesso, delle droghe, dei social media, dell’amore, dell’amicizia e delle relazioni in generale. È una serie che, crudelmente e in maniera affatto adolescenziale, mostra la realtà che i giovani di oggi si trovano ad affrontare, non sempre facile, non sempre esplicitata, tenuta all’oscuro dai propri genitori e dagli adulti. Per di più, Zendaya Coleman l’ho trovata sorprendente.

SEX EDUCATION

Adam Groff: You said there was gonna be no judgement. Is three viagras bad? Her reaction made it seem like it was bad. I feel lightheaded and I can taste scampi. Maeve Wiley: No wonder. You could besiege a castle with that thing.  Adam Groff: I said stop staring at it! Maeve Wiley: Sorry, it's like a third leg.

Se Euphoria la vedo maggiormente rivolta ad un pubblico adulto, per la schiettezza e la trasparenza con cui i temi vengono trattati, Sex education è più adatta ad un pubblico giovane. Non perché sia banale, superficiale. È adolescenziale nel senso che può spingere i giovani ad immedesimarsi con i ragazzi protagonisti e riconoscere in loro le stesse problematiche e difficoltà che vivono in prima persona. È un’educazione sessuale che, purtroppo, ad oggi manca nelle scuole e nelle famiglie; molti argomenti sono ancora troppo tabù per essere trattati con leggerezza e tranquillità, e i ragazzi si ritrovano spesso soli e imbarazzati in un percorso che è in realtà normale, una strada che tutti abbiamo percorso o percorreremo. Qui la sessualità viene trattata spesso con simpatia, senza farne un dramma o un problema irrisolvibile, ma con schiettezza e sconsideratezza. Che è il modo migliore per rivolgersi ai ragazzi. E la colonna sonora è strepitosa.

Di Darren Aronofsky non ho ancora visto The fountain e The Wrestler, ma per ora Mother! è il film del regista che più mi è piaciuto e che entra sicuramente nella lista dei miei film preferiti. Inquietante e angosciante. L’inizio lento, l’essenzialità dei dialoghi, i primi piani costanti, la luce soffusa, tutto crea fin dal principio della pellicola un’atmosfera surreale e tormentata che va solo aumentando, in un climax ascendente che culmina con un finale straziante, violento e brutale. Mother! racconta chiaramente la nostra storia, la storia di un’umanità irruenta ed incapace di portare rispetto ad una madre natura (interpretata da una Jennifer Lawrence incredibilmente bella e brava) che depreda e saccheggia e spoglia della sua bellezza ed innocenza. Una madre natura che si identifica nella casa e che non è altro se il nostro mondo, creato con cura e attenzione per proteggerci e sostenerci, e al quale non siamo in grado di portare rispetto. Un mondo che Dio (Javier Bardem) tenta di ricostruire dopo ogni fallimento, dando all’umanità la possibilità di riprovarci, in un ripetersi apparentemente infinito, per cui infinito è anche il nostro fallimento. Il film è pieno di riferimenti biblici, molti dei quali ho colto solo dopo averne letto l’interpretazione ma che rendono l’opera profonda e intensa.
