Sometimes I find myself feeling as if I'm not good enough. Maybe im not tall enough. Maybe im not fast enough. Maybe I dont look good enough. Maybe I make mistakes and poor choices. Maybe maybe maybe.

I have to remind myself of what I know for sure.

GOD DOES NOT WORK IN THE LAND OF MAYBE!

I am strong enough because He is my strength.

I look good enough because He created me in His image.

I CAN do ALL things through Christ, for He strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)

My identity is found in Christ alone. Not in the world. Not in the media. Not in the insults. Not even in my own thoughts.

I am a Child of the Most High God.

When I Pray

I just feel genuinely better. Maybe I should start by saying that I have always had a horrible grasp on my own emotions. I am quick to anger and my emotions are either at -100 or 100. I am either depressed, angry, and full of self loathing. Or energetic, happy, joyous and laughing. I am rarely content, apathetic, or "neutral." That is the way it has always been as long as I have been unmedicated. I am happy with myself this way...but that discussion is probably for another post.

My point is that, for the last couple weeks, I have been reading my bible once/twice a day and praying about 5 times...really whenever the moment strikes me. Last night, I woke up late and my schedule was thrown off. I skipped my morning bible session and prayer and went straight into feeding the animals, doing daily chores, and working on my animal rights campaigns. The day started out fine, my mood was on the closer to 100 side. However, when a certain set of plans (that I was very excited for) fell through, the switch was flipped and I quickly turned to angry, depressed, crying, screaming, and gut wrenched. This switch is something I am use to, but has not been flipped since I have began my journey growing closer to God. I didn't even realize this was the case until the next morning when I began to reflect on my embarrassing actions and reactions of my meltdown.

The morning after, I resumed my normal circle of devotions, prayer, and connection to God. I felt instantly more in control, more thankful, more stable. And less raw, emotional, and insecure. This thought reminded me of the post I made a few days ago titled, "The Fickle Opinion of Man." When you trust in the Lord and lean on them. When you trust God will carry you in their hands and guide you as they see fit, you can truly take a sigh of relief.
