Bad Thief, Good Thief (도둑놈, 도둑님) Whump List
Tumblr media
Whumpee : Jang Dol Mok played by Ji Hyun Woo and Han Joon Hee played by Kim Ji Hoon
Synopsis : In this story, there are thieves who come from different backgrounds and situations. They were not born as thieves though. For the most part, they lived by the rules even while growing up poor and worked hard to better their lives. They are actually generous people. But the cruel realities of society have pushed them to the edge. (MDL)
Genres : Family, Thriller, Law, Romance, Crime
Note : There is a lot of brotherly moments between the two male leads and so much emotional scenes with lots of crying. There wasn't a lot physical whump but I love family centred drama so that made up for it !
Warning ! Possible spoilers below!

Young Lady and Gentleman. 6-7
Story: 6
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: Our House (jdrama) ; Prime Minister and I (kdrama) ; The Great Show (kdrama)
Oh there is so much to love about this drama and so much to hate about it. It’s one of those dramas where I loved the first handful of episodes then thereafter everything went downhill. Oofing went downhill, but I still watched even though it was painful sometimes. Thankfully using the fast forward button became my friend through the scenes. The chemistry between both leading mains did help too. They had amazing chemistry together even though there really wasn’t much touchy feel’ie scenes between them. I think throughout the whole drama there’s like three small light kisses and yes I get the whole age difference to the story, 14 years, (not that bad of a gap) is supposed to take into consideration but the actors in real life don’t have much of a age gap soooooo. Nevertheless that’s not the main issue of this drama. I loved the fact that this did have a sense of feel of a older type of drama, kind of a classic feel, but that shouldn’t of excuse it of making so many cliches one after another. Don’t get me started on the whole amnesia storyline either. Not once but twice. 🤬🤬 I also wanted to throttle the main villain, who apparently by the way had some kind of power that made everything dumb around her. By the time she finally was ‘caught’ by her lies I was so done with everyone. Especially Lee Young Guk (Ji Hyun Woo) dude was beyond in need of a reality check by the end. I think the only character that was still worth redeemable by the end was the female lead and the kids. Everyone else was an absolute asshat. If you manage to be a fan of over dramatic, highly overdramatic dramas, then this would be great for you.a

Love Is Annoying, But I Hate Being Lonely
Tumblr media
This is a about everyday life. I enjoyed the story though it did feel incomplete at times. It focuses a lot on Na Eun as the main character but the subplots are under developed, making the series feel lacking. I would have liked to see Jo Ji Ah's relationship with David beyond the bedroom and those few conversation outside. It would have gotten me invested in that subplot because I would get a better sense of her feelings towards David and her inner conflict. Something similar happens with Han Ah Reum and Kim Dong Seok. We get the hint that Ah Reum likes Dong Seok, but does he too? When and how did they start dating? Are they even dating? And Dong Seok's son just comes out once. Was the character even needed?
I also feel like Kang Woo's inner conflict with his father could have given us a conversation between son and father. We only assume things are better because he tells Na Eun that he was able to talk with him. . .
I don't know. I did like the story because it was a light story, but I think it could have been better if it had been a bit longer. Maybe it would've worked better if it had been a 16 episode series instead of a 10 episode one. In any case, it was nice seeing Kim So Eun, who I hadn't see since Liar Game; and Ji Hyun Woo whose last series wasn't one of his best (not because of his acting, but because of the story itself).
Anyway, if you are looking for something light, this is a good option.

I don't run after men but when he's a lawyer, a boxer, can shoot guns and most importantly has 35 cows, I might jog a little.

Queen of Tears 눈물의 여왕 (2024) - Episode 1

I absolutely love Queen of Tears. Great acting. Great plot. Love the comedy. And it is also bringing out the internalised Misogyny of people. I see people hating on Hae in. And I don't think people understand that this is a typical CEO romance and the only thing that has changed is the gender. Which means all the things you're hating Hae In for; like lack of communication, noticing the lover after some major changes etc etc, are the same things you see in a man and you go "oh my gods he was in so much pain 🥺".
Because Hae in is a typical chaebol. The only difference is she's a woman now. And you expect her to be more nurturing, more caring, more communicative than the man. And that's why you hate her. Big deal people. She's human. She has her flaws. We're seeing her character grow.
Do better people!
