Finally completed the community center! All the friendship points have led to some interesting events though. I just had dinner with Jodi, Kent, and Sam, told Sebastian and Sam that they should play rock, and am comforting Kent because he has PTSD? This has all happened within like a couple minutes of each other

Chapter 3 of Chances is outttt:

It was Jodi’s bulletin request that got the Farmer in the house in the first place. She requested a parsnip and it just so happened that his latest batch of parsnips had grown that day, so The Farmer went around town trying to find her before just deciding to venture into her house and hope that he won't get kicked out.

As he walked towards the front door, the muffled sounds of rock music reached his ears. The song was so familiar, it sounded like the teenage angst and late nights that the Farmer remembered so well from highschool. As he entered through the doorway the music got louder, almost overpowering. The Farmer glimpsed Jodi through an open doorway and made his way over to her.

She started a little bit when he tapped her on the shoulder and exclaimed happily when The Farmer procured the parsnip from his backpack.

“Ah, thank you so much dear. This will go perfectly in the soup I’m making. Here, here’s what I owe you.”

As The Farmer pocketed the money Jodi gave him, he noticed the music had stopped midway through a phrase and looked back towards the source. The door was cracked slightly and he could see Sebastian standing over an old keyboard.

“Oh, it sounds like they’ve finished. Why don’t you go say hi, I’m sure they’d appreciate it. Yoba knows Sam needs more friends,” she muttered the last sentence as she turned back to washing the dishes.

Left awkwardly standing in the kitchen after whatever that was, The Farmer decided to do just what Jodi suggested. He walked straight into Sam’s room and was met by Sam’s excited smile and Sebastian’s glare, which was slightly softer than the first couple of times he met him, so progress.

“Heeeey! If it isn’t The Farmer. What’s up man, Seb and I were just having a little “jam sesh”.” He put the last two words between air quotes snickering at Sebastian whose glare deepened. “Or at least that’s what Demetrius called it. Anyways, what brings you to my humble abode?,” he looked expectantly at The Farmer.

I love how whenever I read a fanfic with Jodi in it she’s always described as this absolute sweetheart and whenever I write a fanfic I just like make her and Sam have the most tense fuckin relationship ever BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THEY DO

Like the fact that my boy Sam was that terrified when he ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED AN EGG says a lot.

And also half her dialogue is about how tiring and stressful being a mom is and how she wishes she did more before she settled down which like it’s fine to feel that way BUT MAYBE DON’T SAY THAT WITH YOUR KIDS RIGHT THERE.

Also the fact that one of her best friends is Caroline but she only shops at Pierre’s when Joja mart closes doesn’t sit right with me. (I know affordability is a thing, especially because Sam probably gets an employee discount there. But still)

Things that have changed im Sam's house since Jodi and Caroline went into a world trip and Kent stayed home as the main caretaker:

1. Kent wakes up the boys at 6 AM everyday to start house chores.

2. Everyone cleans their own bedroom.

3. Everyone cleans their own plate after dinner.

4. Laundry is done by the three of them every night.

5. You can't go out with your friends until you've finished all your chores.

6. If you dirty something, you clean it.

7. Obligatory bonding time in family.

Kent has found that his boys lack a lot of structure since their mother does everything for them (and is weary of house chores) so he starts taking a lot of chores to himself such as cooking, cleaning and laundry.
