Hostages tortured to death. Parents executed in front of their children. Doctors beaten. Babies murdered. Sexual assault weaponised. No, not Hamas crimes. This is part of an ever-growing list of documented atrocities committed by Israel in the five months since 7 October – quite separate from the carpet bombing of 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza and a famine induced by Israel’s obstruction of aid. And yet while the western establishment media has been chock full of the most lurid allegations of savagery directed against Hamas, sometimes with little or no supporting evidence, Israeli atrocities are excused or quickly forgotten. Accusations against Hamas are endlessly reheated to paint a picture of a supremely dangerous and bestial militant group, in turn rationalising the slaughter and starvation of Gaza’s population to “eradicate” it as a terrorist organisation. But equally barbarous atrocities committed by Israel – not in the heat of battle, but in cold blood – are treated as unfortunate, isolated incidents that cannot be connected, that paint no picture, that reveal nothing of import about the military that carried them out. If Hamas’ crimes were so savage and sadistic they still need to be reported months after they took place, why does the establishment media never feel the need to express equal horror and indignation at equivalent or worse acts of cruelty and sadism being inflicted by Israel on Gaza – not five months ago, but right now? Israel's torture of doctors, its sexual assaults of Palestinian women, it's leaving premature babies to die after its forces stormed a hospital. Where is the outrage? This is part of a pattern of behaviour by the western media that leads to only one possible deduction: Israel’s five-month-long attack on Gaza is not being reported. Rather, it is being selectively narrated – and for the most obscene of purposes. Through consistent and glaring failures in their coverage, establishment media – including supposedly liberal outlets, from the BBC and CNN to the Guardian and New York Times – have smoothed the way for Israel to carry out mass slaughter in Gaza, what the World Court has assessed as plausibly a genocide. The role of the media has not been to keep us, their audiences, informed about one of the greatest crimes in living memory. It has been to buy time for US President Joe Biden to keep arming his most useful of client states in the oil-rich Middle East, and to do so without damaging his prospects for re-election in November’s US presidential vote. If Russian President Vladimir Putin was a madman and a barbarous war criminal for invading Ukraine, as every western media outlet agrees, what does that make Israeli officials, when every one of them supports far worse atrocities in Gaza, directed overwhelmingly at civilians? And more to the point, what does that make Biden and the US political class for materially backing Israel to the hilt: sending bombs, vetoing demands for a ceasefire at the United Nations, and freezing desperately needed aid? Worrying about the optics, the president expresses his discomfort, but he carries on helping Israel regardless. While western politicians and commentators worry about some imaginary existential threat those brief events of five months ago pose to the nuclear-armed state of Israel, Israel is quite literally wiping Gaza off the map day by day, quite undisturbed.

Secret Service Refuses To Hand Over Emails Naming Biden’s Delaware Visitors
Republicans have been seeking answers about President Joe Biden’s Delaware home visitor records’ lack of openness, and the statement they just received won’t make matters better going ahead.
The U.S. Secret Service is reportedly refusing to hand over emails identifying visitors to Biden’s homes in Delaware as a Freedom of Information Act request was filed.
“Please be advised that emails reflecting visitors to President Biden’s residences in Wilmington, Delaware, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware are not agency records subject to the FOIA. See Doyle v. U.S. Dep’t of Homeland Sec., 959 F.3d 72 (2d Cir. 2020) (finding that emails regarding expected visitors to the sitting President’s residence were not agency records subject to the FOIA.),” the officer said in a letter.
The NY Post reported it had submitted its own FOIA request and that the Secret Service had stated earlier in the year that “no records were located” about Biden’s visits to Delaware.
“A Secret Service FOIA officer cited a federal appeals court ruling in New York regarding visitor information for former President Donald Trump’s residences, even though the ruling doesn’t bind the actions of officials in Delaware or in DC,” the New York Post reported.
The Secret Service said earlier this year it was “gathering” information about who visited Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, amid a scandal involving the president’s potential illegal possession of classified documents.
The Washington Examiner reported the demand includes information on “all individuals” who visited the residence as well as other places where Biden stashed classified documents, including a private office he used at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C.
   The outlet noted further:
Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson wrote to the Secret Service on Monday in a letter first obtained by the Washington Examiner and requested the visitor logs. Now, the Secret Service said it is evaluating that letter and is “currently in the process of gathering” various information, as well as “working through appropriate channels” to locate what “may be responsive to Congressional inquiries.”
“We are in receipt of Senator Grassley’s letter and it is currently being reviewed,” Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Secret Service, told the outlet, which reported that he also said the USSS does not maintain “formal and comprehensive visitor logs for protected residences.”
“What I mean by that is there is not a system of validated visitor logs as you find at the White House or other government facilities that fall under the Presidential Records Act,” he noted further in a Wednesday email to the outlet.
Guglielmi did say, though, that the agency keeps some records on certain visitors like particular “contractors” or “workers.” In addition, the Secret Service collects information about the “law enforcement and criminal justice” histories of people who visit protected sites.
At the Wilmington location, classified documents were found stored haphazardly in Biden’s garage where he stores his vintage Chevrolet Corvette.
This comes as Hunter Biden is at the forefront of the Biden family scandal.
More stunning details regarding some WhatsApp messages between Hunter Biden and a Chinese businessman with close ties to the Communist government have been released.
According to a Twitter post by the House Oversight Committee, which is chaired by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), Hunter appears to have suggested that his family is the “best” at doing the bidding of the Chinese government.
The messages, dated July 30, 2017, were provided to the committee by IRS whistleblowers. They were exchanged between Hunter and Chinese energy company CEFC employee and translator Raymond Zhao, noting that the then-future first son was “sitting” with his dad, then-former Vice President Joe Biden, and the two “would like to understand why the commitment” to be paid up to $10 million “made has not been fulfilled.”
“Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight,” Hunter told Zhao.
“And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction,” the message added.

Biden Says He’s ‘Really Not Irish’ Because He’s Sober and Doesn't Have Relatives 'in Jail'
By: Madaline Leesman On Friday, President Joe Biden made disparaging jokes about his Irish heritage during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at the White House, where he hosted Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. During the day, Biden attended the Friends of Ireland Luncheon with Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). During the luncheon, Biden and McCarthy issued remarks. When Biden spoke, he…

"Palestinian plaintiffs and their legal representatives on Friday [January 26, 2024] presented a powerful case in federal court accusing President Joe Biden and other top US officials of complicity in Israel's genocide in Gaza.
People around the world tuned in for the long-awaited hearing in Oakland, with plaintiffs appearing in person and over Zoom in an unprecedented effort to hold the Biden administration accountable for its actions in Gaza.
The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) filed the lawsuit in November 2023 on behalf of Defense for Children International–Palestine, Al-Haq, and eight Palestinians in the US and Palestine. The complaint accuses President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin of failing to live up to their legal responsibilities under the 1948 Genocide Convention and the 1988 Genocide Convention Implementation Act.
The United Nations convention classifies complicity in genocide, or the intentional destruction of a people in whole or in part, as a crime under international law and requires that states take measures to prevent such atrocities.
[Note: This is a big reason why politicians almost never call it a genocide, btw. Because if a country recognizes that it's a genocide, then they actually are legally required to do a bunch of things to stop it, under international law.]
The historic lawsuit contends that the Biden administration has failed to uphold its obligations by continuing to provide diplomatic and military support for Israel's brutal campaign in Gaza. Plaintiffs are asking the court to stop Biden from sending more weapons and munitions to Israel that are being used to kill Palestinians en masse.
The hearing before the US District Court for the Northern District of California took place just hours after the International Court of Justice issued provisional measures against Israel in a landmark case brought by South Africa.
-via TAG24, January 26, 2024. Article continues below.
Court contends with questions of jurisdiction and responsibility
In evaluating the allegations, questioning in Friday's hearing revolved around the so-called political question doctrine, by which federal courts regularly refrain from ruling on political matters seen as best resolved by the president and Congress.
The Department of Justice argued that according to the doctrine, the court has no jurisdiction to rule in the case.
"If the court condemns United States foreign policy toward Israel, it could cause international embarrassment and undermine foreign policy decisions in the sensitive context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," defense counsel Jean Lin told Senior District Judge Jeffrey S. White.
Katherine Gallagher of the CCR countered that the court does, indeed, have a responsibility to step in: "Here, the question is a legal one, whether the actions undertaken by the United States failed to uphold the obligation to prevent genocide, and that is an active obligation that requires that the United States not provide the means by which a genocide is being furthered."
"There is no discretion for any state to evade its obligations, its legal obligations. These are not policy decisions," she said.
Palestinian plaintiffs share powerful testimonies before the court
After legal arguments in the case, Judge White heard two hours of gut-wrenching testimony from Palestinian plaintiffs and a renowned Holocaust and genocide expert.
Rubin Presidential Chair of Jewish History at Wake Forest University Dr. Barry Trachtenberg shared his remarks before the court in spite of vehement US government opposition.
"To have an event fall under the 1948 Convention on Genocide requires both action and intent, and here we see that very, very clearly in a way that seems really quite unique in history," he stated, noting that there is now an opportunity to stop Israel's unfolding genocide in real time to prevent further loss of lives...
Judge White said he would take the testimonies to heart as he evaluates his constitutional responsibilities, describing the case as "the most difficult judicial decision" he has ever had to make."

Note: I know a lot of people are really not gonna appreciate that last line. I'm not thrilled with it either. But it is worth noting that having a federal court overrule the US president's huge foreign policy and military decisions would be an absolutely massive deal/precedent
This is a case that deserves to be ruled on with an incredible amount of seriousness, if only because if you're a federal judge who's going to make that call, your written decision/legal justification needs to be unimpeachable
That said, if the judge uses jurisdiction to pass the buck here and avoid his legal and human responsibility to do what he can to stop a genocide, I'm gonna be pissed

House Democrats have initiated an investigation into Starlink, the Elon Musk-owned company that provides internet service via satellite, over claims Russia had access to the service to aid in its occupation of Ukraine.
On Thursday, Democratic Reps. Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Robert Garcia of California sent a letter to the chief operating officer of SpaceX, which owns Starlink, expressing concern over accusations from Ukrainian officials that its intelligence service had discovered Russians using the technology in the occupied region of Donetsk. One reason this could be a problem is because President Joe Biden signed an executive order in 2022 that prohibits Americans from making new business investments in Donetsk while its under Russian control.
Raskin and Garcia sent the letter in their capacities as ranking members on the House Oversight Committee and National Security Subcommittee, respectively.
“Starlink is an invaluable resource for Ukrainians in their fight against Russia’s brutal and illegitimate invasion," they wrote. "It is alarming that Russia may be obtaining and using your technology to coordinate attacks against Ukrainian troops in illegally occupied regions in Eastern and Southern Ukraine, potentially in violation of U.S. sanctions and export controls."

Cover-up at the Highest Level: Republicans Demand Transparency Over Biden Allegations
In a recent development, the Chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Republican James Comer from Kentucky, announced his deep concerns about the significant level of redaction, reportedly exceeding 50%, in a new document concerning allegations associated with President Joe Biden’s family business and possible illicit foreign payoffs.
The focal point of these allegations is the notorious FD-1023 form, a record-keeping document the FBI uses for documenting claims about potentially illegal activities from confidential human sources.
Unearthed information from an earlier FD-1023, submitted by a credible FBI source, suggests the President allegedly received a minimum of $5 million from a foreign national as a bribe. However, recent allegations suggest that the figure might be as high as $10 million, funneled partly via shadowy shell corporations.
These developments have prompted a surge of interest among Republicans. They are delving into the claims amid apprehensions that Biden may have leveraged his Vice Presidential authority to facilitate his family’s business pursuits, with particular attention on his son, Hunter Biden.
On June 20, Comer disclosed his intention to visit the House sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF)—a section of the House complex designated for protecting classified materials. He aimed to inspect another FD-1023 form connected to the allegations against the Biden family.
Comer’s experience within the SCIF left him disillusioned. He reported that the extent of redaction within the documents, including mentions of Hunter Biden and Burisma, and hints of a fraud investigation, left him with more questions than answers.
Republicans, led by Comer, have voiced their concerns about federal law enforcement’s possible withholding of information. Comer stressed the absence of documents from 2018 referenced in the previously viewed FD-1023 form. This discrepancy sparked concerns about concealed evidence about the allegations against Biden.
Following Comer’s inquiries, the FBI stated there were no forms from 2018 but pledged to investigate further. The FD-1023 forms have catalyzed a contentious battle between Comer and FBI Director Christopher Wray. Initially, Wray refused to grant Congressional access to the document, which was brought to light by a whistleblower report submitted to Comer and Senator Chuck Grassley, a Republican from Iowa.
This non-cooperation led Comer to the brink of launching contempt of Congress proceedings against Wray. In response to this looming threat, Wray capitulated, allowing Comer and the Democratic ranking member of the panel, Jamie Raskin, to view the document within the SCIF. Subsequently, the entire Oversight panel was granted access.
Comer has not ruled out restarting contempt proceedings if the 2018 document is not produced. He expressed frustration with the lack of transparency and heavy redaction, stating, “They’re gonna have to do better than that.”
The Democratic representative, Raskin, claimed the document’s content was irrelevant and suggested political motives behind the investigation. He accused Republicans of utilizing these allegations to deflect attention from charges against former President Donald Trump.
However, Comer remains resolute in his pursuit, expressing his intent to expose any role Biden might have played in allegedly laundering millions of dollars from foreign nationals through shell companies into the Biden family’s accounts. He raised concerns about the potential compromise of the presidency due to these dealings.
While the actual content of the document remains undisclosed to the public, committee members, including Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene and Andy Biggs, have shared some information through public reporting.

🚨 Resistance News Network:
War criminal and American president Joe Biden announced moments ago that the US will carry out food aid airdrops to the #Gaza Strip in the coming days.
This disgraceful show comes after the martyrdom of 30,000 Palestinians in a genocide with full military and political support from Biden's administration, after the US cutting off financial support for UNRWA to provide aid following ludicrous allegations, and after three US vetoes of UN Security Council ceasefire resolutions.
In the shadow of the Flour Massacre, Biden sends a message, like Arab regimes, that opening land corridors for aid is futile, obeying the whims of the occupation and further solidifying that the miniscule amount of aid carried by airdrops is the only path for relief. This move aims to divert attention from the heinous zionist-perpetrated massacre, which the US blocked a condemnation of in the UN yesterday, despite overwhelming proof [referring to the findings by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor] of the IOF's intent.
The US, with this superficial facade, seeks to restore its shameful image as the driver of this war by providing drops of aid that do not meet the needs of the starving and besieged masses in the Gaza Strip, all while the IOF continues to massacre Palestinians in an ongoing genocide.
As one American plane drops food into Gaza, another plane drops weapons for the IOF to continue its massacres, siege, and genocide.

WASHINGTON — The FBI source who reported President Biden’s alleged role in a bribery scheme said that a Ukrainian businessman claimed to keep as “insurance” 15 audio recordings of first son Hunter Biden and two of Joe Biden, a Republican senator revealed Monday.
Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) made the staggering claim in a Senate floor speech after FBI Director Christopher Wray last week allowed House Oversight Committee members to see a redacted informant file about the claim that Hunter and then-Vice President Joe Biden received $5 million apiece to serve the interests of Burisma Holdings owner Mykola Zlochevsky.
“Congress still lacks a full and complete picture with respect to what that document really says. That’s why it’s important that the document be made public without unnecessary redactions for the American people to see,” said Grassley, accusing the bureau of needlessly redacting information about the recordings from the file shared with House lawmakers.
“Let me assist for purposes of transparency,” the 89-year-old went on. “The 1023 [form] produced to that House committee redacted reference that the foreign national who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter Biden allegedly has audio recordings of his conversations with them. Seventeen total recordings.
“According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses 15 audio recordings of phone calls between him and Hunter Biden,” Grassley continued. “According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses two audio recordings of phone calls between him and then-Vice President Joe Biden. These recordings were allegedly kept as a sort of insurance policy for the foreign national in case he got into a tight spot. The 1023 also indicates that then-Vice President Joe Biden may have been involved in Burisma employing Hunter Biden.”
The senator concluded: “So, as I’ve repeatedly asked since going public with the existence of the 1023, what, if anything, has the Justice Department and FBI done to investigate? The Justice Department and FBI must show their work. They no longer deserve the benefit of the doubt.”
Grassley learned of the informant file this year from a whistleblower and told House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), who issued a subpoena to the FBI. The informant is a longtime paid FBI source.
Grassley said the FBI’s alleged disinterest in the Biden bribery allegation contrasts with its treatment of former President Donald Trump, who on Tuesday will become the first former president arraigned on federal charges for allegedly mishandling classified information after he left office.
“It’s clear that the Justice Department and FBI will use every resource to investigate candidate Trump, President Trump and former President Trump,” Grassley said. “Based on the facts known to Congress and the public, it’s clear that the Justice Department and FBI haven’t nearly had the same laser focus on the Biden family.”
Hunter Biden earned up to $1 million per year from 2014 to 2019 to serve on the board of Burisma, despite having no relevant energy industry experience.
Then-VP Joe Biden met with a Burisma executive at a DC dinner in April 2015, which featured in The Post’s explosive first report on Hunter’s abandoned laptop.
As vice president, Joe Biden also allegedly pushed US support for Ukraine’s natural gas industry during a trip to Kyiv just days after Hunter quietly joined Burisma in April 2014.

Donald Trump charged in Georgia for efforts to overturn the 2020 election
Link here, because WaPo's security measures stop Tumblr previews. Non-paywall link here.
"Former president Donald Trump and 18 others were criminally charged in Georgia on Monday in connection with efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 victory in the state, according to an indictment made public late Monday night [on August 14, 2023].
Trump was charged with 13 counts, including violating the state’s racketeering act, soliciting a public officer to violate their oath, conspiring to impersonate a public officer, conspiring to commit forgery in the first degree and conspiring to file false documents.
The Recap
The historic indictment, the fourth to implicate the former president, follows a 2½-year investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis (D). The probe was launched after audio leaked from a January 2021 phone call during which Trump urged Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) to question the validity of thousands of ballots, especially in the heavily Democratic Atlanta area, and said he wanted to “find” the votes to erase his 2020 loss in the state.
Willis’s investigation quickly expanded to other alleged efforts by Trumpor his supporters, including trying to thwart the electoral college process, harassing election workers, spreading false information about the voting process in Georgia and compromising election equipment in a rural county. Trump has long decried the Georgia investigation as a “political witch hunt,” defending his calls to Raffensperger and others as “perfect.”
The Details
“Trump and the other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump,” the indictment states.
A total of 41 charges are brought against 19 defendants in the 98-page indictment. Not all face the same counts, but all have been charged with violating the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Willis said she has given those charged until Aug. 25 to surrender.
Among those charged are Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor who served as Trump’s personal attorney after the election; Trump’s former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows; and several Trump advisers, including attorneys John Eastman, Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro...
Prosecutors brought charges around five subject areas: false statements by Trump allies, including Giuliani, to the Georgia legislature; the breach of voting data in Coffee County; calls Trump made to state officials, including Raffensperger, seeking to overturn Biden’s victory; the harassment of election workers; and the creation of a slate of alternate electors to undermine the legitimate vote. Those charged in the case were implicated in certain parts of what prosecutors presented as a larger enterprise to undermine the election."
