Allegory of Death or Mors (1745) by Johann Gottfried Haid (1710 - 1776)
Allegory of death, in a rocaille frame. Death, a skeleton with an hourglass and a scythe, stands with one foot on a globe surrounded by a snake with an apple. To the left in the landscape is an angel with the stone tablets in his left hand and a flaming sword in his right hand.
In the bottom margin twice a four-line German and Latin text.
