A federal judge in Wisconsin ruled Wednesday that a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the father of a man shot and killed by Kyle Rittenhouse during a protest in 2020 can proceed against Rittenhouse, police officers and others.
The father of Anthony Huber, one of two men shot and killed by Rittenhouse, filed the lawsuit in 2021, accusing officers of allowing for a dangerous situation that violated his son's constitutional rights and resulted in his death. Anthony Huber's father, John Huber, also alleged that Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time of the shootings, conspired with law enforcement to cause harm to protestors. John Huber is seeking unspecified damages from city officials, officers and Rittenhouse.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman on Wednesday dismissed motions filed by Rittenhouse and the government defendants seeking to dismiss the civil rights lawsuit.
In allowing the case against Rittenhouse and the others to proceed, the judge said that Anthony Huber's death "could plausibly be regarded as having been proximately caused by the actions of the governmental defendants."
Rittenhouse attorney Shane Martin said in a phone interview that it's important to note the ruling doesn't address the merits of the case, it only allows it to proceed to the next phase.
"While we respect the judge's decision, we do not believe there is any evidence of a conspiracy and we are confident, just as a Kenosha jury found, Kyle's actions that evening were not wrongful and were undertaken in self defense," Martin said.
Attorneys and private investigators for John Huber spent over 100 hours trying to locate Rittenhouse, tracking down addresses in seven states before they found the home of his mother and sister in Florida. The lawsuit was served on Rittenhouse's sister, who said that he wasn't home. Adelman said that was sufficient to qualify as being served.
Rittenhouse had argued that the case against him should be dismissed because he wasn't properly served with the lawsuit. Adelman dismissed that, saying that Rittenhouse "is almost certainly evading service."
"Rittenhouse has been deliberately cagey about his whereabouts," Adelman wrote. "Although he denies living in Florida, he does not identify the place that he deems to be his residence."
Attorneys for the law enforcement and government officials being sued did not immediately return emailed messages seeking comment.
The ruling puts Anthony Huber's family "one step closer to justice for their son's needless death," said Anand Swaminathan, one of the attorneys for parents John Huber and Karen Bloom.
"The Kenosha officials that created a powder keg situation by their actions tried to claim that they cannot be held accountable for their unconstitutional conduct; that argument was soundly rejected today," Swaminathan said in a statement.
Rittenhouse was charged with homicide, attempted homicide and reckless endangering for killing Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and wounding a third person with an AR-style semi-automatic rifle in the summer of 2020 during a tumultuous night of protests over the shooting of a Black man, Jacob Blake, by a white Kenosha police officer.
Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges in November 2021 after testifying he acted in self-defense. Rittenhouse's actions became a flashpoint in the debate over guns, vigilantism and racial injustice in the U.S.
Rittenhouse went to Kenosha from his home in nearby Antioch, Illinois, after businesses were ransacked and burned in the nights that followed Blake's shooting. He joined other armed civilians on the streets, carrying a weapon authorities said was illegally purchased for him because he was underage.
Rittenhouse first killed Rosenbaum, 36, in the parking lot of an auto dealership and as Rittenhouse ran from the scene he stumbled and fell. Anthony Huber, 26, struck Rittenhouse with his skateboard and tried to disarm him. Rittenhouse fell to the ground and shot Anthony Huber to death and wounded demonstrator Gaige Grosskreutz, 27.
This case is one of several ongoing civil lawsuits filed in the wake of the shootings. Grosskreutz last year filed a similar lawsuit against Rittenhouse.
Rittenhouse has maintained a high public profile, particularly on social media, where he is an outspoken advocate for gun rights. He has nearly 1 million followers on Twitter and has spoken at conservative gatherings.

My Friend Irma Goes West
In the sequel to "My Friend Irma," titled "My Friend Irma Goes West," Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, alongside John Lund, Maire Wilson, and Diana Lynn, embark on a new comedic journey directed by Hal Walker in 1950.
Up next on my Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis marathon is the sequel to 1949’s “My Friend Irma,” the 1950 film “My Friend Irma Goes West,” directed by Hal Walker and released the same years as their third movie “At War with the Army”. While we see a change of director, the main cast remains the same. Returning with Martin and Lewis are John Lund, Marie Wilson, and Diana Lynn. I must say, this is one of…

Kyle Rittenhouse, a Wisconsin man who skyrocketed to fame in right-wing circles after shooting and killing two protesters during a social rights march in 2020, is now facing a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the victim's father, according to PBS.
The lawsuit was filed by John Huber, the father of one of the two victims, and also includes city officials and police officers. U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman dismissed motions from the city officials, police officers and Rittenhouse to dismiss the civil rights case in its entirety.
Huber's lawsuit states that Rittenhouse conspired with police officers to intentionally cause harm to the protesters who were marching in reaction to the death of Jacob Blake, killed by a Wisconsin police officer.

 Desperate Housewives Thoughts:
Ok so i am only in the middle of season 2 but this show has become my new obsession!!
Gaby: probably my favourite character. in my mother’s words she is at her best when she is being awful. she’s fiesty, funny and selfish but sharp. i love her little machinations and her constant plotting either to get what she wants or against Carlos. aside from her affair with John (which was super uncomfortable) i always enjoy her scenes. her fighting with that nun, and her and Carlos’s arguments are easily some of the best moments of the show. Carlos is an ass and their relationship is a trainwreck but thats what makes them so entertaining. especially when they are being awful to each other.
Bree: funnily enough the reason i started watching this show was because i saw twitter talking about her and andrew’s turbulent relationship and it has not disappointed me so far. I love her so much more than i originally thought i would. we completely differ on politics but i can relate to how repressed she is and her discomfort with any kind of public emotion. who hasn’t turned the tap on and cried in the bathroom and then pretended it never happened. like how can you not love her? also her speech about freud not only cemented my love for her, it made me realise that i was going to really really love this show.
Edie: what can i say? every moment she is on the screen is PURE GOLD. what other character has every been so iconic and unapologetic while casually committing arson. i also love her hidden vulnerability and the fact that she is desperate for some friendship but would die before admitting it. only complaint is that she needs to be in more scenes. they don’t make characters like her anymore.
Susan: lmao i know its really common and popular to hate on her but she she always makes me laugh. at best her clumsiness leads to funny moments and at worst she is mildly annoying. sometimes you just want to sit her down and tell her to get a grip lol.
Mary-Alice: i dont know if this was done on purpose but i love how slowly over time her tone becomes less serious and more amused by her friends antics. like she is removed from some of these emotions she had when she was alive. the longer time she is dead the more removed she thinks like human. drives home the point that she is looking in from the outside. she is dead and has become less attached to the worries and squabbles that plague the living.
Lynette:  easily my least favourite housewife purely because everything about her life is my worst nightmare. every scene with her husband and kids raised my blood pressure. i think her family situation and life are so common in reality which tbh makes her story the most depressing imo. i like her better in s2 when she is working and her storylines don’t revolve around her family all the time.
Felicia Tillman- very cynical but i love her little monologue about about people being vultures and the fact that she gave martha’s dentures as an engagement gift to edie lol. absolutely insane thing to do.
Martha Huber- lmao what a nightmare. but i loved how her first solution for everything was to resort to blackmail lol.
Betty Applewhite- a brilliant actress who was wasted on this storyline tbh
Tom Scavo- HATE THIS MAN!!!!

Here is my Desperate Housewives character rankings that no one asked for!!
I've been done with season 1 for little over a week now so I really thought about this. Here are my top 5 and the rest and my overall thoughts are under the cut if you really want to know.
1. Edie fucking Britt - I will not be elaborating.
2. Rex Van de Camp - other than him cheating he seemed like a good person. he just wanted to be dommed from time to time and his wife wouldn't do it. didn't deserve to die.
3. Lynette Scavo - me as a white woman. minus the whole sabotage her husbands career plan bc she doesn't trust him to not cheat. i think that says more about her than it does about him.
4. Bree Hodge - Her and Lynette were neck and neck for my favorite housewife but then she kink shamed her husband. shes just trying her best to be a good mom and has ocd for sure. (High key reminds me of my mom and she said it was her favorite character too)
5. Doug Scavo - dedicated husband and father. can't wait for him to be a stay at home dad during the coming seasons. HOWEVER i do think that he did cheat already or will in the future.
Edie fucking Britt - She just the most normal character out of all of them. I feel like the writers wanted people to hate her, or at least be a strong divide of those who love or hate her. And I am one of ones who love her.
Rex Van de Camp - other than him cheating he seemed like a good person. he just wanted to be dommed from time to time and his wife wouldn't do it. didn't deserve to die.
Lynette Scavo - me as a white woman. minus the whole sabotage her husbands career plan bc she doesn't trust him to not cheat. i think that says more about her than it does about him.
Bree Hodge - Her and Lynette were neck and neck for my favorite housewife but then she kink shamed her husband. shes just trying her best to be a good mom and has ocd for sure. (High key reminds me of my mom and she said it was her favorite character too)
Doug Scavo - dedicated husband and father. can't wait for him to be a stay at home dad during the coming seasons. HOWEVER i do think that he did cheat already or will in the future.
Martha Huber's Sister - weirdo who decided to move into her dead sisters house so she can terrorize the neighbors. i think gets off on others misery. less annoying than her sister.
Mary Alice - i like her as the narjrator, but i know she had to do what she did for a deeper reason than what they kind of explained. i'm sure they will use some kind of mental illness as an excuse, or we'll never find out why she really did it
Carlos Solis - Those last two episodes were damning for him. I thought he was relatively okay but he is an abusive mamas boy and gay basher. has zero respect for his wife and treats her like a tool to be used.
Martha Huber - nosy neighbor but was annoying about it. however, she is haunting the narrative from the grave so i have to give her props for that
Mike Delfino - he's was bad at his job that i didn't even know what it was. and then when he could've completed the job he didn't.....whatever.
Julie Mayer - a child who has a super weird relationship with her mother. just grown as hell for no fucking reason. she's just as annoying as her fucking mother. but she's a child so i hope she becomes less insufferable as the seasons go on.
Carlos Solis - those last two episodes were damning for him. I thought he was okay but then he turned into a jealous abusive mama's boy and i'm pretty sure what Carlos did to Gabi's birth control was hell illegal.
Gabrielle Solis - pedophile.
Weird Pharmacy Guy - i don't feel like looking up his name because he gives off incel vibes and he killed Rex. when will he get that Bree does not want his touch deprived ass. i hope he gets what he deserves that's trying to meddle with Rex and Brees' marriage -
Danielle van de camp - I don't think about her really
John the gardener - I don't really care about him, he needs therapy.
Zach (Dana) Young - he has some real psychological problems. i hope he gets some help. I don't like the way he's being written
Paul Young - weirdo but valid? please be better at being inconspicuous
Susan Mayer - I hate her. The worst housewife. Every time she opens her mouth I have to mute the TV. She is the worst kind of white woman to me. Whatever TV trope she is it's so fucking annoying. God. Fucking hate her so much. (imagine that was in all caps)
Andrew Van de Kamp - he is only under Susan bc he is a scum person even if he is just a child. spoiled rich kid at its finest also he ran over a woman. um found out he might be gay or is gay and now i don't know how to feel. obvs he still did shitty things and his actions had no consequences so i am looking at the writers sorry now. especially because of the whole conversion therapy shit. Hope he does not get worse than this.
Thoughts: Loving the mystery aspect of the show. Its pretty much giving me exactly what I want, and that is white women mess. I feel like this is the shit that is happening in the bougie neighborhoods in my area. The characters are entertaining and the series seems to be fairly well written. OHMYGOD the cliff hangers were a fucking 10/10. If i was watching this back when it aired, week to week!!! I hope it stays entertaining throughout the whole series.

Augustin Hirschvogel
German, 1503-1555)
Within a decade, Augustin Hirschvogel and Hanns Lautensack (nearby) were aware of the landscapes by Wolfgang Huber and Albrecht Altdorfer and began to expand their artistic vocabulary. Hirschvogel probably made the group of etchings on view here after traveling down the Danube from Nuremberg, through Regensburg and Passau, to his residence in Vienna. The many buildings, cultivated fields, and roads emphasize human activity and its mark on the landscape but always in the service of articulating a particular topography.
Hirschvogel's etchings found an international audience, informing the development of the landscape genre as far away as Italy and the Netherlands.
