In my hypothetical trip to Austin I’ve been planning for next year I forgot the Southfork Ranch exists and I can go be nerdy about Dallas again. It’s an hour and half drive but that’s fine. I looked up the website and it amused me to no extent.
@prettytragcdies asked: “where did you get that? who gave it to you?” ( Scarlett & John Ross )
“Let’s call ‘em a business associate.” In reality, it was a new private investigator he had hired for this job alone. He’d needed someone not connected to their family or business in any way whatsoever. He didn’t want to risk the pictures at hand being seen by anybody but him - and now Scarlett.
“Really, Scarlett? Not only are you fraternizin’ with the enemy, but with an old man at that. You got such bad daddy issues you feel you gotta work ‘em out not just with some random guy but with someone in the same damn business? Daddy’d be rollin’ in his grave if he knew about this! You’re lucky I came to you first and not mama or Uncle Bobby. Christ’s sake, Scar, the hell were you thinkin’?”

i know "annie ross" is possibly a reference to john ross or perhaps a derivative of "rosanna" by toto, which is apparently harry and annie's song, but i think it would be way funnier if it turned out she's somehow related to him since the goodsirs were related to some rosses. they start kissing and feeling each other in this book, second book opens with a weird but heartfelt 10 page sex scene in which she takes his virginity, and then in the middle of the second book she finds some record that shows that she's a descendant of one of his cousins. or perhaps since this is all the result of government genetic experimentation and time travel, perhaps she's biologically his daughter or something. they're like "oh ew oh fuck" and quickly break up. like some kind of luke/leia situation (i have never seen a star war idk what they did when they realized they were related).
despite losing josh manson (he’s in a better place now <3) they are a solid team but there’s definitely room to improve.

I'm sooooo looking forward to hearing all about last night! You saw Carly AND Tim, and heard YOU 😭
It must have been amazing
🌷🌷
Hiiii babe 🩷
It was SO SO GOOD!!! The boys were so confident in their work like you could tell every single second was thought of and accounted for. Matty looked stunningggg. Ok this is gonna be long I’m sorry so yeah.
I remember taking notice of different things during different songs. Like Happiness and Too Shy? They just belongggg to John Waugh. That saxophone hits me in my soul. You know when matty says “my soul got this feelin”? I got that same feelin about the sax.
George? Heart Out. He made all of MSG vibrate with his drums. He crushed it during The Sound too.
Ross? Change of Heart and People. He jams out during People it’s so so sexyyyy. He was really into doing Chocolate last night idk why. I guess I do. If you’d asked me before the show, I never would’ve put chocolate on my dream setlist. But having heard it live? 100000x better. And Matty’s cute and sassy “1,2,3,4 fuck it up, let’s go” is so attractive ugh.
Polly honestly wins everything just by being there but of course JC2005. Even matty is in awe of her during that song. The one time he doesn’t hog the attention is when Polly is singing.
Hann. He’s the unsung hero of literally everything. But like Sex and It’s Not Living just wouldn’t work without him.
….and then there’s Matty. Slut.
Got to hear Tim Healy AND Carly on the same night. When Carly came onstage I think I forgot to breathe for a second. Oh and I tried to take wide pics of all of the arena during All I Need To Hear. I don’t think it shows too clearly but everyone instantly put up their phones for him it was so so so cute and wholesome.
See below.
The crowd however….ew. Very stiff. Not a whole lot of dancing. The energy was mid. And the row that I was in? I was the only person dancing. People gave me such weird looks it made me feel a bit weird in the beginning but I decided that it’s not my problem if they’re losers and don’t have enough respect for the magic to dance it out. I’m sure as hell gonna give the show what it deserves.
On one side of me, people talked about Matty’s dick the entireeeee show. On the other side? Two moms whose daughters are in the pit. They didn’t even stand for a SINGLE song. They sat there and were shocked, horrified, scandalized by anything Matty did or said. All the gun references in lyrics. All the blow jobs all the sex jokes. I think they thought they were having the worst fever dream lmaoooo. They did enjoy Tim Healy though haha. They were very into his performance.
Yeah controversial but: Baltimore>>>>>
Sorry but that’s been the best show so far. We’ll see it MSG redeems itself tonight.
"I knew this was a mistake. I tried to tell you, but no. You're the big brother, and you always have to be right."
"What’re you talkin' about?" John Ross had barely stepped foot into the kitchen before the accusations were being hurled in his direction. To say he was confused as to where they were coming from and what had suddenly brought them on would be a definite understatement.
"Like you don't know," Scarlett scoffed, clearly not in the mood. "That little plan to have Mama committed -- that I still can't believe I let you talk me into, by the way -- it completely backfired right in our faces. She clearly doesn't trust either one of us, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she actually hates us for how cold and cruel we were."
A somewhat involuntary roll of the eyes was John Ross' initial response to his younger sister's argument. She always did have a flair for the dramatics, ever since they were kids. Some things truly never changed.
"I didn't force you to do anything, Scar. If you didn't want to go along with the plan, you never should've agreed to it."
Maybe her brother had a point, but that didn't mean Scarlett was ready to admit to anything just yet. Oh no, she wouldn't back down and move on until she'd come out on top victorious in the whole thing, whether she was actually in the right or not.
"We should've found another way to handle it. That's all I'm saying. I mean, she was sober for over two decades before she fell off the wagon this time. That has to count for something, right? Maybe all she needed was a couple of drinks to get her through the initial shock of everything, and ---"
Now it was John Ross' turn to scoff. Did Scarlett honestly not remember what it was like when they were growing up? Had she for one reason or another purposely blocked out the times when J.R. had told them Sue Ellen was sick, when in actual reality she was simply too drunk to tuck them into bed at night?
"I'm not tryin' to make excuses for her." That much Scarlett wanted to make clear, almost as if she could read her brother's mind in that moment. "I just remember certain things differently than you do. That's all."
"Do share," he prompted, both wanting as well as needing a bit more elaboration.
"I'm just sayin' that by the time I was old enough to retain actual memories, she'd already quit drinking. She and Daddy were happy together, and we were a real family. Then when the Wicked Witch of Weststar swooped in and completely ruined everything, instead of goin' right back to the bottle, she just tried to ruin Daddy's life instead."
The explanation made enough sense, but John Ross still stood by his earlier decision.
"Just because you might not remember how bad things used to be, it doesn't mean she doesn't have a problem."
Once again, there was no valid argument for Scarlett to fire back with, and both siblings knew it.
"We did what we had to do at the time. What's done is done." As far as he was concerned, it truly was as simple as that.
The smallest hint of a soft sigh filled the space between them as Scarlett finally gave in, just not before having the last word.
"I hope you're right, Jerkface.”
i finally figured out what to do with some of the gifs i matched up of the ewing siblings, so i hope you like it, labyriinths. enjoy! :)
