Im so sorry about this rant in your inbox, i am sure you are getting other asks about this and probably getting sick of it, but I really need to let it out. Liz will probably not appear until 8.14 which means we won't see her for what another 5 weeks since here is another 1 weeks hiatus at one point. And that is not even confirmed yet! Seriously wtf!? If they are filming until end summer and she is not filming simultaneously cuz of covid then why? 1/3

I am so done with all of this. DONE. It’s got to the point that it’s painful to watch and this is NOT the show we love. It’s lost all of its heart with Liz gone, and from a Keenler standpoint, I’m furious. Where is the Keenler angst and hurt and ‘abandoned’ Ressler the John’s promised for this season? Where is the heart and soul of that story? It’s not there. 

I am furious over all of this. It’s at the point that I can hardly bear watching it each week. And I LOVE this show. They have destroyed it with this ridiculous decision to keep their leading lady gone for up to 10 episodes. Half a season! 

At first, I figured she’d be gone just that one episode. But then.... then it became clear something else was going on. Then I figured, like many, that perhaps she WAS still filming, and after a few episodes we’ll get a few Liz-centric episodes to fill in what she’s been doing. That would stretch their season out to the promised 22 episodes. I never bought into the ‘Megan is unhappy. Megan quit. Megan was fired. Megan has Covid. Megan is pregnant.’ etc, etc. But at this point none of this makes sense any more.

If this was a ‘creative decision’, it’s backfired on them. Half the fandom are rejoicing she’s gone. The other half are bored out of their skulls with what they have dished up each week since she’s been gone. Snails pace filler. The telling part is that Diego got a LOT of screen time and lines last night, and I didn’t care.

For all the promise of Season 8, it’s now officially their worst season ever. And I’m so close to just not watching until I hear she’s back, and then binge watch to catch up. And I definitely don’t want her to show up pregnant after all of this absence! One baby was more than enough on this show. What makes it worse is that the writers and TPTB think they are giving us top notch writing and a thrilling show. I have news for them - YOU ARE NOT.
