Meta: "Every life matters"

Something I love about POI is the overarching theme that, as Root said in 4x01, every life matters. The team view the irrelevant numbers as equal in importance to relevant threats ("The government considers these people irrelevant. We don't," from the seasons 2 - 5 opening narration. "Everyone is relevant to someone," said by Nathan in 1x22 and Harold Finch in 3x17) and have dedicated their lives to saving complete strangers, which they continue to do no matter what.

The epitome of this is demonstrated in the finale. The Machine has learned the secret of life ("Everyone dies alone. But if you meant something to someone, if you helped someone, or loved someone, if even a single person remembers you, then maybe you never really die.") but She didn't learn it from one of Her assets. She heard it from a random person, because to Her everyone is equally important and has something valuable to teach Her.
