Free Trina. That's all I got.
Sidenote: Wasting my girls days just to prop Jex and had the audacity to have her say "The three of them used to be so close" when they hardly know dex.🥴 Like please I really need Cameron Webber to clock in because I can't take these friendships seriously.🙃

Joss talking about how Trina's depression making her want to isolate herself is "perfect" because they can be "downers" together like breakup "grief" is the same as watching your boyfriend traumatically "die" right in front of your eyes. The cherry on top is Trina's palpable annoyance to Joss' nonsense.
Joss being the dumb friend would be so much more endearing if I knew the writers were in on the bit but they aren't so I can't give them credit for how funny her being a terrible friend is sometimes.

Omg dex. She's not that great. And she's not going pre med. she hasn't been to class in over a month. She's failing this semester
And omg joss. You're saying that only YOU decide when a relationship ends? That's not a relationship. It's a hostage situation

I think Trina already has pent up frustration towards Joss cause even before jason was bought up she already seemed annoyed by her & doesn’t even wanna hang out

And they really wasted Trina's screen time on consoling this idiot because her mob enforcer boyfriend (ex now🤭) *checks notes* was doing his job...whew trina deserves so much better than this.🤦

The problem with the Trina, Joss and Adam scenes wasn't that they were filler, it's that they were bad filler. I'm here for expanding the college scene, I want to see Adam interacting with the group. But that's not what this was. This was just Trina and Joss praising Adam's "amazing" music skills ad nauseum to drill into the audience's head that he's meant to be a musician (er I guess).
If you're going to establish a dynamic, there has to be a back and forth. This was just propping. Trina and Joss barely got pov outside of "wow you're so talented!" and even Adam's pov wasn't much beyond "I'm gonna be a doctor. "
We didn't get any new insight into his personality or how it would fit with the group. Have him scoff at Trina's comment about Marshall's career fulfilling him despite not being an uber success. Give us something.
Trina comes from a legacy of doctors on the Robinson side, and she chose a creative major. Have Adam question why Trina wouldn't just follow in her family's footsteps, especially with a chief of staff mother. Have her speak on her perspective on doing things differently from her family because she was passionate about paving her own way.
Hell, considering how controlling Portia can be, I'd totally buy an anecdote about her initially having concerns about Trina majoring in art. That way we're getting more insight into the characters we're invested in as we learn about Adam, so it doesn't feel like a complete chore.
This was just sort of disappointing and felt like they were rushing the latest attempt to replace Cam because this trio's dialogue didn't feel organic at all. It also wasn't fun.
The best bit of college scene casual dialogue this year was when Trina, Joss, and Cam were sharing messy PCU gossip about a guy messing with twins before Cam announced he was leaving. It was natural and the kind of thing you'd expect from a college friend group.
This was weird, heavy on the agenda, and almost felt like they were advertising Adam as a character instead of integrating him with the group.

I know that I'm in the minority, but that is par for the course for me. Some of the things people say about Portia, and Cam and Joss are so . . . wild to me.
Like . . . why wouldn't Trina show up with Portia and Curtis? They are her parents and love extends beyond a person's shortcomings. Why would she be able to look past all of the hurt Spencer caused her b/c of her love for him, and not be able to do that for her mother and father? Are they typically overprotective, annoying parents? Sure. But enough for Trina to hate them and completely shut them out of her life? No. And she never will, because she's not that type of person. So to expect her to is . . . well I don't get it.
Why would Cameron hold a grudge against Joss because of her cheating on him? Since when has he ever been that type of person? He moved away to heal, and healing includes forgiveness.
It's almost like we're viewing Cameron and Trina as stand-ins so they can give Portia and Joss a piece of our minds, not Cam or Trina's.

ah, I see we are continuing the hostage situation with Joss and Dex. this isn't romantic. she's being manipulative. and it's super gross to watch them tumble into bed again. it's not cute or sexy or romantic.

I don’t think anyone would agree with me but if they’re going to keep Esme good give her a new friend group that isn’t Joss, Dex, Trina, and Spencer to let her find interests outside of what her Dad wanted and gain independence. I vote on also giving her a girlfriend.
