On Dec 17, 1989, the Simpsons moved from being short commercial bumpers on The Tracy Ullman Show to its own half hour show. While it was actually the 8th episode produced, "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" became the pilot episode. The Simpsons would go onto becoming the longest running animated show in prime time. Marge Simpson (The Simpsons)
In the episode Don't Fear the Roofer, Marge tells Lisa she made an appointment for Bart to get "C-I-R-C-U-M-C-I-S-E-D" without his knowledge (she doesn't say why she's doing it when he's ten instead of when he was born). However, during Bart's famous naked skateboard ride in The Simpsons Movie two years later, everyone in Springfield can clearly see that appointment was cancelled.
Would She Snip?: No
