I’m sure I don’t need to tell most people this, but it isn’t cool to take someone else’s character design - especially a character they’ve been attached to for over a decade - and assume it’s okay to slap your own lore on it without reaching out to that person or people who might know them.

I have fallen down quite the rabbit hole. Three times in one day, I’ve found someone stole my partner’s oldest character in full, name and design, and decided this character’s lore needed fleshing out. Nobody tried to contact my partner and ask if he was comfortable with people doing this. This is not the first time the character has been used/reimagined without permission, and not the first time I’ve brought it to my partner’s attention. It is, however, the first time I’m directly saying something about it to the Jurassic community, and asking for your understanding in this matter.

^ This JPOG skin, Crusher the T. rex, belongs to Dr. TeaRex, aka RPGTKingpin, aka The Kingpin. While TeaRex does not have a monopoly on oversized T. rexes that have lost their families to tragic circumstances, Crusher is not free for anyone to claim or to use for your own roleplay purposes or stories or shipping fics. The fanfics reimagining Crusher’s backstory, shipping him with various characters (OCs or otherwise), and giving him a new family are not something my partner is comfortable or happy with. He politely requests that people stop doing this. You probably wouldn’t appreciate having a character that you’ve been attached to for more than fifteen years taken from you and written to be something completely different from what you’ve written them to be either. Please respect his wishes.

To clarify: We’re aware of the fanmade mod skins and we think they’re great. (I’ve made one myself.) The skin trailer remake that was done in Jurassic World Evolution is amazing. The Iron Claw crossover from way back was done with my partner’s permission. All of that is fine; what isn’t fine is appropriating someone else’s character and calling them your own.

The fossils of some dinosaurs can be found in multiple dig sites and the quality of a dig site can range from 6 different classifications which go from excellent to exhausted. Fossil hunting teams can be sent by players to dig up fossils and amber from one of the nine sites present all over the world. Players can obtain a dinosaur’s DNA by extracting it through fossils or amber. The higher the DNA percentage is, the longer the dinosaur will live unless it dies from other unnatural causes.

In order for players to create a dinosaur, they need to have 50 percent of the dinosaur’s DNA.

Carnivores have a need to hunt other dinosaurs as they will not be satisfied with the livestock which is constantly offered to them.

In order for the herbivores to be happy, they need to be around an adequate number of trees and dinosaurs that they can socialize with.

Feeding stations can be built where herbivores get bales of plant based food and carnivores get fed cows and goats.

The game basically has a main objective which involves players creating an animal theme park with a five star rating which features dinosaurs.
