We play board games with his roommates on Thursday night. And I get nervous talking to them because they're all smarter than me, but they don't think that. I just want them to like me. They do like me. And I like them. And it's okay that I'm into film and art and it's okay that they're into math and science. And he makes me waffles. And we shower together and I'm not self conscious about it. And we went on a hike on Friday. A real one. In real mountains. And he's real. And the creek we sit next to is real, and he collects insects for class, and I watch him and look at the flowers he picked for me and it's enough. And we sit at a brewery and listen to the band and people watch. There's a family who owns a pizza truck outside of the brewery, and the girl bringing the pizza out can't be older than 14. It reminds me of summers at Jessica's old restauarant in Justiceburg. And last night we went to a bar with his friend, it reminded me of Texas and it was good. And we go back to his house and we make a fire and he plays guitar and we get in a silly argument about something that doesn't matter and I say sorry and we kiss and it's okay. And I tell him I'd marry him, and he says let's do it. So we almost do. His friend says no were too drunk, but we don't care. I think we want to see who backs out first. And I like his roommates dogs, and they like me, and I play with one of them in the yard while the boys talk around the fire. And it's enough. And we lay in his bed and watch the fish swim in his aquarium. And we take naps when it's raining outside, and he works while I write, and he gets me brunch in a smaller town outside of Davis, and we pull off to the side of the road to buy strawberries from a stand. And we watch shitty TV shows and make up drinking games to them and it's enough, but I wonder if it always will be. I wonder if I will always be as happy as I am right now, and I wonder if he'll be a part of that. I wonder if we'll be together in 5 years. I hope we are. And I hope it's enough.
