Hey! Can I request head canons about the ninja finding the reader (their partner) wearing their clothes?

Finally getting around to clearing out my inbox! Here ya go, friend!!

Ninjago - Ninjas Finding You in Their Clothes

Kai

He notices that you’re wearing his shirt the second he walks in the room

He has a very good memory when it comes to what clothes he owns, so when he sees them on you, he knows them in an instant

He smirks, leaning against the doorframe

He lets out a long whistle, startling you

“Looking fine, babe. I like the shirt.”

“Yeah? You like my shirt?”

His smirk grows, and he saunters over to you

His arms wrap around your waist and he pulls you into a kiss

He reminds you that it is, in fact, not your shirt

Cue the teasing that ends with you being chased around the house until Kai corners you and tickles you, refusing to let up unless you admit the shirt isn’t yours

As much as he likes seeing you in his clothes, he isn’t going to let you keep them

But he starts asking if you also want one whenever he gets a new clothing item, because he thinks you look totally hot in his clothing style

He just doesn’t want to have to give up any of his clothes; he needs them all to be available 24/7 for ✨fashion purposes✨

Cole

It takes him a second to realize it’s his hoodie you’re wearing

It’s the bagginess that he notices first; he’s a pretty big guy, so his clothes would most likely be at least a little big on you

The longer he looks, though, the more familiar the hoodie becomes

When he finally realizes, a huge grin blooms on his face

He walks up to you and envelops you in a bear hug, lifting you off the ground and swaying back and forth

He is absolutely elated that you’re in his clothes

He likes his clothes, and he likes you, so put those things together…

Perfection in his eyes

When he sets you down, finally allowing you to breathe again, he plants a kiss atop your head

“Please wear my hoodies more often. You look great.”

Even though they don’t fit you too well, Cole’s clothes are very comfy, so you take full advantage of his open-closet policy

What he loves most is getting something back after a while and finding that it smells like you <3

Jay

His initial thought is that you also happen to have a Starfarer shirt

He says as much, but when you give an amused giggle he gets suspicious

Going to his room, he finds his shirt gone

He comes running after you

“Thief! Get back here!”

“Heheheh, no!! It’s comfy!”

When he finally tackles you onto the couch, both of you laughing your lungs out, he peppers your face with kisses

He’s not really all that upset, he was just taken by surprise

In actuality he thinks you look great, and he tells you to keep the shirt

He thinks it’s cute that you borrow his clothes, and he probably tries to return the favor at some point

He’ll be over the moon if you let him wear your clothes from time to time

He’ll be really picky about what he takes, though, so you don’t have to worry about all your clothes suddenly disappearing

Except for hoodies. Lock them away. He will steal them all.

Zane

He notices you in his clothes immediately

He was aware that he was missing a tunic, so he made the connection pretty quickly when he saw you in it

At first he’s just confused

“Are all your clothes unfit for wearing? I did the laundry yesterday—”

“No, I just… wanted to wear yours.”

He’s still pretty confused, but he can tell that you’re happy so he lets it go

He knows it’s some kind of affectionate thing, but he doesn’t understand it personally

He starts purposefully putting some of his clothes in your drawers, just so you don’t have to “steal” them

He doesn’t care when you wear those, but he does get a little irked when you do steal from his wardrobe

Not genuinely upset, though; he just dislikes the confusion of finding something missing

As long as you let him know beforehand, he has no trouble letting you borrow whatever you want :)

And perhaps he’ll even let you keep it…..

Lloyd

Lloyd turns pink in the cheeks when he sees you in his shirt

The corner of your mouth quirks up mischievously when you see this

“Something wrong?”

“That, uh… is that my shirt?”

A smile curves his lips as he says it, but his face is still very much a dark shade of red

He thinks you look fantastic—but that’s only part of the reason that he’s blushing

The idea of you wearing something that he wore…

Indirect hug

He settles down next to you to give you a direct hug too :)

He thinks it’s cute to borrow each others’ clothes

To him it’s a sign of intimacy

So of course you guys set up an open-closet policy, and you guys often lounge in each other’s clothing

Nya

She gets so excited when she sees her shirt on you

She thinks all her clothes are nice, so she’s glad to see that you apparently agree

Enough to have stolen her shirt without asking, anyway

She wraps her arms around you from behind, pinching at the fabric and grinning

“Cute shirt.”

“Isn’t it? I got it from a place called ‘Nya’s Closet.’”

“That’s where all the good stuff is!”

She literally drags you to her room and starts pulling out clothes she thinks you’d look nice in

You guys have a little fashion show that ends late, with clothes everywhere, you in her pjs and her in yours

Needless to say, she’s more than happy to share her clothes

She knows they’re irresistibly stylish; she’s just happy you have good taste

[ninjago headcanons] how they handle valentine's day with you

𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚍𝚎𝚜: 𝚔𝚊𝚒, 𝚓𝚊𝚢, 𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚎, 𝚣𝚊𝚗𝚎, 𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚢𝚍, 𝚗𝚢𝚊, 𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚘𝚗, & 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘

𝚔𝚊𝚒

of course, he’s very smooth about it

will come up to you wearing that dumb smirk of his holding a heart-shaped box of chocolates, flowers, and a card

asks you in one go. doesn’t stutter or trip over his words

even so, he’s still a little bit nervous deep down - he’s just good at hiding it

will take you out for a fancy dinner and a motorcycle ride; at the end of the night, the two of you go somewhere secluded to watch the sunset together

𝚓𝚊𝚢

he’s not as confident

stutters, blushes, has to practice a few times before he can work up the nerve to ask you

once he does, though, he’s super relieved and gets excited!!

he takes you out to lunch, and then the two of you spend the day at an arcade museum :)

at first, he’s a little bit tense and afraid he’s going to embarrass himself, but he eventually lightens up

the two of you have a blast!

the date ends with cups of ice cream and a walk around a park at sunset

𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚎

asks through a romantic, heartfelt letter that he delivers to your doorstep before you emerge for the day

the letter is sealed in a pretty, light pink envelope and stamped with a flower. accompanying it is a bouquet of your favorite flower along with a box of chocolates

your name is written on the front of the envelope in a unique, calligraphy-esque font that appears messy but also…strangely composed and beautiful, in a way

the letter asks you to meet the secret someone out on the deck of the bounty after breakfast

sure enough, cole is there, fidgeting as he waits for you

once you approach him, he asks to be your valentine!

you answer him with a hug and a “yes!”

the date takes place in a forest initially - he had set up a special spot beforehand. it’s a picnic!

of course, he had to get a little bit of help from zane for the cooking portion :)

afterwards, the two of you take a short hike through the woods until you reach the theater where the ninja performed

it’s empty, but cole knows a certain spot inside

it turns out to be a mirrored studio room, where he teaches you how to dance :)

(or just dances with you, if you already know how!)

𝚣𝚊𝚗𝚎

does it simply and elegantly; after listening to the advice of his teammates, he decides to just ask you while you’re alone on the deck

he averts his gaze when he asks, unsure if he had done it correctly or if he misunderstood the tradition somehow

but when you grin and accept, his nerves ease

the two of you have a quiet, peaceful walk throughout the birchwood forest

(zane makes sure that you’re dressed warm enough beforehand)

eventually, the two of you come across a frozen pond

after determining that the ice is thick enough, zane pulls you onto the ice, the two of you slipping and sliding around

he’s far more graceful, and he doesn’t let you fall

takes the two of you back via a dragon ride, letting you cling to him while you enjoy the sunset

𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚢𝚍

asks you by dropping off a cheesy starfarer-themed valentine’s day card at your door

takes you to a family entertainment venue (think like chuck e cheese, with added games for adults)

he admits that he came here quite a bit whenever it was jay or kai’s turn to watch him when a kid, and he knows all of the tricks to get a lot of tickets

(at one point, he tells you a story about how he would steal tickets from machines and other patrons in order to get better prizes)

the two of you play for hours, saving up as many tickets as you can before heading to the counter to pick out your prizes!

you end up getting two of the same dragon stuffed animals, but in different colors

once that’s done, the two of you enjoy some of the venue's snacks before calling it a day

𝚗𝚢𝚊

she, like her brother, will simply come up and ask you

the only difference is that she lacks his cockiness and is more nervous about it

she keeps it simple - the day starts with a coffee shop date and ends with the two of you wandering the city together

there’s not much of a plan - the two of you just go with the flow

by the time the day is done, you have shopped at a farmer’s market, listened to a talented street performer, tried a bunch of pastries from a local baker, and more!

𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚘𝚗 - 𝚌𝚛𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚣𝚎𝚍 𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗

initially goes to vinny for date ideas and how he should go about asking

when the time does roll around, you notice that he’s stiff and clearly uncomfortable, but also determined

he’s blunt and to the point about it

you can tell he’s doing his best to sound gentle

“i would…very much like it if you were to be my valentine.”

ends up taking you out for a few drinks at laughy’s (either alcoholic or not, whatever you prefer)

either way, he eventually accompanies you on a night walk on the perimater of the city, away from the crowd so that no one can ruin your night together

𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘

doesn’t even bother asking. it would embarrass him too much.

very coarse about the ordeal, but even so, it’s really sweet in his own way

probably won’t make a whole lot of eye contact with you. if you squint, you might catch him blushing at some points.

drags you to a nice picnic that he set up (all by himself!) in the ruins of the monastery

it’s a quiet night, but the two of you still enjoy yourselves despite not speaking much

the wind is gentle and content, as is morro

once the two of you are done eating, you’ll shimmy over to him and curl up beside him

he’ll accept your embrace, holding you as you watch the skies together <3

╰┈➤ how would the ninjas react to you telling them that you love them for the first time?

🍃 WARNINGS: fluff, sarcasm, minor wound (Jay), mentions of cursing and self doubt (Kai), nightmares (Lloyd)

🌴 AUTHORS NOTE: tehe first writing post, hi buddies!! :) A bit of OOC Nya but I still think what I wrote for her was too cute to change <3

˗ˏˋ〘 𝓒𝐎𝐋𝐄 〙ˎˊ˗

"Cole… That’s too much sugar-" You interjected, grasping your boyfriend’s arm before he could empty the sugar into the mixing bowl.

“Oh.. my bad, (Name)." Cole chuckled sheepishly, his smile betraying his embarrassment as he glanced at you, “Sorry,” He added.

With a playful roll of your eyes, you aided him in adjusting the sugar amount, "No wonder you’re a sucky chef, Cole," you teased, prompting a scoff from him.

“Me? A sucky chef, please!" He exaggerated the ‘please,’ earning a knowing look from you.

“What? Did you know I’m secretly Gordon Ramsey’s love child?" He grinned.

“In your dreams you probably are," you laughed, causing his face to drop in mock disbelief.

“How dare you? Take this." Cole took the flour that was laying on the counter, grabbed some from the packet and tossed it into your face.

“Cole..! Stop!" You squealed, shielding your face with your arms.

“Nuh uh, you are going to face my flour wrath, (Name)!" He persisted, continuing to shower you with flour until you managed to wrestle the packet from him. Soon, both of you were engaged in a flour war, filling the kitchen with laughter.

Eventually, his arms found their way around your hips, pulling you close as you leaned against his chest, both of you still giggling,

"Cole, I love you so much," you said playfully, feeling him freeze at your words. His pause prompted you to furrow your eyebrows and stare up at him. Cole gazed at you with eyes filled with passion and adoration before he leaned in to peck your lips,

“I love you too, (Name)."

He kissed you again, and again and again. Until you both were just contently sitting in each other’s arms, embraced within the euphoria.

Unfortunately for the two of you, the euphoria was to be put on hold—You both had a bit of some cleaning up to do…

˗ˏˋ〘 𝓙𝐀𝐘 〙ˎˊ˗

The brown haired boy seemed to be bubbling with anxiety, fidgeting with his fingers as he kicked his feet against the medical bed. You grabbed the first aid kit, placing it beside him with a huff, meeting Jay's eyes.

“Do we really have to do this?" he whined, but you reassured him with a smile.

“Of course, dear. We don't want your boo-boo to worsen, do we?" His ears turned pink at your pet name as you dabbed antiseptic on a cloth.

“It's just a cut, (Name)! I don't want to go through all this," Jay pleaded as you brought the cloth closer to him. You looked at him sympathetically,

“Exactly, it's just a cut, so why are you so scared?" You paused, a playful glint in your eye, "Aren't you supposed to be my brave boyfriend?" Jay's expression softened, a grin spreading across his face,

“You're right! I am your brave boyfriend!" he proclaimed proudly. You grinned as you brought the cloth to his cheek.

He winced softly at the burning sensation before the feeling got replaced with your delicate fingers. You applied a Thomas the Train band-aid to his cut and swiftly placed a small kiss on your boyfriend’s cheek, “There you go, your boo-boo is all better now,”

“Thanks doc,” Jay said, his smile cheesy and so incredibly contagious that it brought a smile to your own lips. His bright brown eyes staring into yours as though you were a delicately painted painting, simply a work of art for him to stare at. You cusp his cheek as you both continue staring at each other, you caressed his soft yet warm skin under your fingertips,

“I love you, Jay," you spoke softly. He grinned cheekily, his cheeks lightly dusted pink at your words.

"Well, I love you more!" he retorted playfully.

“No, I love you more," you countered.

“Nope! I love you the most mostful and mostest!" he declared, pulling you into a tight hug and nuzzling his head into your neck. As you let out a small giggle he whispered into your ear,

“I love you, (Name), forever."

˗ˏˋ〘 𝓚𝐀𝐈 〙ˎˊ˗

After enduring the agonizing training, you found yourself sprawled on the floor, Kai, your boyfriend of two months, grinning down at you, his weapon by his side.

His sweat-dampened hairs framed his face as he leaned closer to tease you, but suddenly, his playful smirk fell. He tumbled forward, landing directly on top of you. He muttered a curse as his eyes locked with yours, and your breath hitched. You both were merely centimeters between each other and in that moment, you swore the world seemed to stand still.

"Hey, sweetheart," he whispered, his voice soft and gentle, “Seems like I fell for you,”

"Hi Kai," you snickered, finding his attempt at being flirty endearing. "Seems like I caught you."

"Sorry about that," Kai chuckled, rolling off to lie beside you on the dojo floor. Together, you gazed up at the ceiling, embracing the silence in the room, until you couldn't resist stealing a glance at his side profile. Holding back the urge to caress his face, you traced the features with your eyes. You met his gaze as his smirked, his eyes staring into yours knowingly.

He wiggled his eyebrows playfully as he teased you, "Like what you see, sweetheart?"

"I love it," you whispered sweetly, brushing a strand of his hair before meeting his eyes again. "I love all of you."

Kai froze, his confident demeanor crumbling as a blush painted his cheeks. His face turning as bright as his gi. His face faltering into a slight frown.

“You don't mean that," his voice dropped low into a whisper, insecurity lacing his words. You could tell he was feeling incredibly vulnerable.

"Of course I do," you promised him, a gentle smile gracing your lips as you stare into his crestfallen eyes, “I love you Kai.”

He stared into your face, trying to decipher if you were truly being genuine with him. His face brightened up as he realized you were. A sly grin returned to Kai's face, but his eyes held a warmth that made your body melt. He grabbed your hand from your side and put it up to his lips,

“I love you too, sweetheart."

˗ˏˋ〘 𝓛𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐃 〙ˎˊ˗

Lloyd woke abruptly, his body drenched in sweat, heart pounding against his chest as his nightmare caught up to him. They’ve begun appearing more frequently the last couple of years… His eyes darted anxiously around the room, paranoia lingering in his gaze.

“Lloyd?” You whispered, concern lacing your voice, you could barely see him though the darkness.

"Sorry for waking you, darling," he murmured back, his voice quivering. Sitting up, you touch his trembling arm softly,

“Another bad dream?” you asked. The boy didn’t vocalize his thoughts but instead turned to you to nod his head at you like a sad puppy.

"You're okay, Lloyd," you reassured him soothingly, you brushed a strand of his sweat drenched hair away from his troubled face.

“You’re okay,” you repeated, wrapping your arms around him. You felt him crumble beneath your touch, he sunk into your chest as he stared into your eyes. Searching them for reassurance. You begun playing with his blonde locks, a soft hum escaping your lips. You stole a glance at him. The moonlight cast a gentle glow upon his face, revealing the subtle contours of his gentle features. His eyes closed, his breath steadying into a rhythmic pattern,

"Lloyd?" you whispered, uncertainty lacing your voice. There was no response, only the soft sound of his breathing filling the room. Did he already fall back to sleep? You paused, carefully staring down at his face,

“Well, good night Lloyd... I love you," you murmured softly, turning your gaze towards the window.

Unseen by you, a small smile graced his lips, a ghost of a whisper that you unfortunately didn’t pick up,

“I love you too,”

˗ˏˋ〘 𝓝𝐘𝐀 〙ˎˊ˗

You sighed softly as you slipped into your gi, the weight of your mission pressing against your shoulders even before the sun had fully risen. With your weapon at your side, you gazed out at the horizon, thinking about the mission you had to do. It was a task that demanded your immediate attention, one that couldn't wait for the rest of the ninja to stir from their slumber.

As you prepared to summon your elemental dragon, a familiar voice yelled out to you,

"(Name)! Wait!" Your girlfriend, Nya, still in her Spiderman pajamas, dashed towards you with urgency in her step,

“Nya? What’s wrong?" you asked, concern knitting your brow.

"Nothing! I just wanted to say goodbye to you before you left," she replied, quickly kissing you on the cheek. A warmth spread through you at her touch, a feeling of comfort and belonging that only she could ignite.

"Bye (Name)," she said, her smile gentle, but then she hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her features.

“What’s up?” you prompted, curious about the sudden change in her facial expression.

With a sheepish grin, Nya shook her head and presented you with a basket of food. "I um... I also wanted to give you this basket of food. I didn’t want you to be hungry while on your mission, so take it as your breakfast... I mean it’s obviously not going to be as great as Zane’s cooking, I’m sure—"

You interrupted her rambling by accepting the basket with gratitude, your heart swelling with affection for her thoughtful gesture,

“Thank you, Nya,” You stared into her eyes in adoration. Sincerity seeping through your words.

"Of course! Stay safe, (Name)!" Nya beamed, her happiness contagious as she pulled you into a quick one-armed hug.

"Bye Nya, love you," you said absentmindedly, your focus already shifting towards the task at hand as you climbed onto your dragon's back. You weren’t paying attention to her flustered behavior.

You soared into the sky, leaving Nya behind on the ground. Little did you know, as you flew off into the distance, Nya was left beaming with joy, her heart bursting with the simple yet profound words you had spoken.

"I love you too, (Name)!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with happiness as she watched you disappear into the horizon.

With a gleeful bounce, she couldn't contain her excitement any longer. "THEY SAID THEY LOVE ME—“ She quickly scowled to herself,

“Control yourself, Nya, but still!! They said they loved me!!" she squealed, her laughter echoing in the quiet morning air. Most likely awaking most of the Monastery.

You sighed in frustration, your forehead meeting the cool surface of your desk with a dull thud. The blinking cursor on your computer screen taunted you as you tried to summon the words for your research paper. Procrastination had led you to this point, with the deadline looming close.

Lost in your thoughts, you barely registered the muffled noise at your door until it creaked open, revealing the analytical gaze of the ice ninja, Zane,

"Forgive me for interrupting, but I heard sounds of frustration and thought I would offer my assistance," he said, his voice calm and measured.

You managed a weak smile at his considerate gesture. "It's not a problem, I've just hit a roadblock," you admitted, gesturing helplessly towards the computer screen.

"I see no genuine roadblock, do you perhaps mean that figuratively?" Zane inquired, his literal interpretation of your words drawing a chuckle from you. As he approached your desk and effortlessly began typing away at the keyboard, you watched in awe as he swiftly completed the research paper that had been taunting you for hours,

"I believe this should suffice in terms of information. All that's left is to write your conclusion," he remarked, turning towards you with a straightforward expression.

You were dumbfounded by his efficiency, unable to believe he had solved your problem in mere minutes,

“You didn't have to do that!" you exclaimed, your gratitude tinged with surprise.

"I was simply assisting you," Zane replied, his tone neutral, mistaking your reaction for displeasure. You rose from your seat suddenly and enveloped him in a grateful hug,

"Thank you, Zane. I love you," you murmured against his shoulder.

For a moment, there was silence as Zane processed your words, his expression unreadable. Slowly, he brought his arms back up to exchange the hug,

With this said, as you guys grow close and start dating, he becomes uber protective of you.

He knows your very stunning.

And he knows others know that as well.

Lloyd

Waking up with Lloyd is something that’ll always be funny and so, so loving. Both of you are quite thoughtful when it comes to the other's rest, wanting the other to get as much time as possible.

If he wakes up before you, he’ll stay as still as possible and just hope you’ll wake up soon with no disturbance.

But in actuality, you woke up with him and didn’t want to disturb him. And it seemed to work, faking sleep and all. Keeping your breaths heavy and tossing as you usually do.

Eventually one of you will catch on, starting your morning with a small fit of giggles.

Lloyd will link his hands around you and hold you close, peppering your face with kisses to activate your morning routine. He does it until it tickles terribly, and you’re left giggling and pushing his face away. But he only backs down if you give him his good morning kiss.

Unfortunately, he usually has places to be, so he holds you extra tight just in case, trying to savor every precious minute with you.

Usually it’s you who gets him out of bed, prying yourself out of his tight hold to stumble out onto the cold floorboard of the monastery. Stretching your limbs and starting your own day.

He likes to sit back, watching you rummage around the room until you’ve had enough of his laziness and try to force him out of bed. (you fail, he’s gone limp)

But once he’s finally done being grumpy and stubborn, he gets up and gets his second kiss of the morning, which means he’s ready to start the day!

Zane

Zane doesn’t necessarily sleep, but sort of powers down in the night, if he wants to.

He’s stiff, really stiff until his system reboots and he’s had his full charge of robo-rest.

Usually, when he becomes conscious, he’ll carefully slip out of bed and shuffle around to dress himself quietly. It’s fairly early, around 6:00 AM when he heads out to cook breakfast for his team (who should be up and running by about 7:00) and saves his love’s food for last, making sure it’s warm and cooked to perfectly cooked.

He tidies the kitchen, the halls, and their living areas before he decides it’s time to wake you up around 8:30-9:00 (10 on weekends)

When waking you, he’s gentle and so very sweet. Carefully shaking you before speaking out loud.

“It’s time to wake up, my Dove.”

Sometimes he can’t help but stand for a few minutes beforehand, watching you peacefully. It makes him feel so joyous at how relaxed you feel in the bed you share. In all honesty, he watches you sleep for hours before he actually powers down (in a non-creepy way, I swear)

To make sure you’re up, he turns you over, your face towards the ceiling. He kisses your forehead and makes sure you’re not going to fall back asleep before backing away.

He’s already set out your clothes, a few options you may like for the day. Any morning medicines or vitamins are next to you on the nightstand, with a glass of water on standby and the good morning note he leaves just incase you wake up early.

Zane smiles when you finally sit up, groggily to take your sips of water. He watches lovingly as you force your gremlin body out of bed to stumble into his arms.

Kai

Kai refuses to get out of bed in the mornings.

He’s such a grouchy guy, but who isn’t when his peaceful rest is disturbed so suddenly?

Being a ninja means he’s usually on a tight schedule, at the whims of others and spontaneous disasters. So he admires the extra rest he gets, without having Zane knocking on his door at 6:00 AM sharp to wake him.

But with you, it’s relatively different. You’re the early bird out of the two of you, as you tend to wake up a little too early. Sometimes it’s difficult to go back to bed after waking so suddenly.

To avoid being lonely in your room, you try to wake him, as nicely as possible.

In return, you get a gentle grunt, and a refusal to wake. A simple, unconscious ‘No’ pushed past his lips.

You take it lightly, getting up and fumbling around the room until you find an appropriate time to try again.

His mask fits snugly against his face, flames embroidered onto the fabric. He lay with his mouth slightly agape, and a few small snores falling out. He looked so funnily peaceful that you thought about taking a picture, but decided to spare him that embarrassment.

At this point, you're ready for him to wake up. Tugging the blanket off of him roughly and raising your voice, cheerily yelling at him to wake up and love you. It makes him so cranky and whiny, pulling at the blanket and trying to curl up so tightly in hopes that he sinks down into the mattress and falls into a world of comfortable pillows and fulfilling sleep.

It's gonna take a hot minute to actually get him out of his fetal position, but he'll eventually do it (with mild complaints). Groggily pull off his mask and stretch his arms so high you can jab at his tummy. But he doesn't mind, leaning over to grab you and put his entire body weight on you to return the annoyance of waking him.

Also, I must mention, his morning breath reeks. Sorry not sorry.

Jay

The bluebird is everywhere on the bed throughout the night. And tends to wake up in a big, wide starfish position that leaves you with about a 2x1 space in the upper corner (if you're lucky).

You wake at about the same time, with him managing to take up even more space when stretching. His arms pressing into you tends to wake you fully, and you have a habit of smacking him away.

This is what gets him up.

He acts so maliciously sweet, it almost makes you want to forgive him for shoving you face-first into the wall at two am. He gives you his pretty boy smile and wraps his arms around you, bringing you to the center of the disheveled mess of pillows and blankets he'd made. He holds you close to his chest and speaks to you first thing.

"Sleep good, lovebug?" "Shut up."

Afterward, he just likes laying there, holding you close while you check everything on your phone. Watching you go through your tik tok feed, making the occasional comment towards the content you receive from friends or what appears on your for you page.

It takes Zane almost beating down the door until the two of you actually manage to get out of bed and get ready for the day.

Sleep and sleep attire brings comfort to the both of you so it’s a surprise he doesn't just train in his pajamas (he's tried, the stench it held that night made you gag).

On a regularly calm day you'll stay in your pajamas and complete shenanigans around the house until Jay can return to the comfort of his own jammies, and enjoy the rest of his day with you <33.

Cole

He is a bear, a big bear, a big bear who hibernates at night.

The man holds and produces so much warmth the two of you can sleep comfortably without a blanket sometimes.

Waking up with him is simple, each day, at least in his eyes.

There are many steps he takes until he's comfortable with waking you up.

Usually, the first thing he does is blink, then starts feeling around to make sure you're there, and you aren't just a figment of his imagination or a wild dream in his head.

Then he slowly removes you from your spot, carefully so as to not disturb you, and moves you so you're laying on him, and tossing the blanket over the two of you.

Lastly, he waits five minutes or so until he starts to fall back asleep. He does, accidentally of course, and due to his obscure position it causes him to snore.

Snore so loudly, it startles you awake and your movement wakes him in the process.

He thinks it's a little funny but feels bad for startling you awake.

Cole likes to forget his responsibilities for that moment, and instead spend that time holding you.

He absolutely refuses to function without his morning snuggles and acts all grumpy if they are denied. But hey, the quicker he's done with his daily ninja duties, the quicker he can go back to sprawling on the bed and absorb your body weight on top of him.

I Hate Being A Kid

Summary: You are turned into a child when a fight goes south and the group has to figure out what to do. Mainly Lloyd x Reader

It all happened so fast that no one really knew how it happened. One minute you were fighting, the next your clothes were draped over a lump. Lloyd was the first to go over where you had once been. He digged through the clothes to find....

"A baby?"

The rest of the team was quick to go over to Lloyd and see the baby he was holding. Cole grabbed the baby from Lloyd.

"It's more of a toddler than a baby," he holds the baby up, before Nya speaks.

"Is that Y/n? Oh god! That's Y/n!"

"No way!"

You squirmed in Cole's hold and changed from holding you like Simba to cradling you.

Cole wrapped you in some blankets as you giggled up at him.

"So what are we going to do?" Jay was the first to question and the rest looked at him.

"Well, we can't leave her like this," Lloyd says, before picking you up and putting you into his lap.

"I think she's cute like this," Nya then grabs you from Lloyd's arms, upsetting him a little, but he didn't speak on it, "We could probably wait this out- Like we did for Sensei Wu-"

"But we don't have that kind of time," Lloyd argues, causing a loud commotion.

This commotion caused you to start crying and Nya was quick to take a motherly role and rock you. You were finally able to get back to sleep and Nya laid you down in a makeshift crib.

"I hate to be a Repeating Rebecca, but what are we going to do?" Jay repeated to himself, yet again.

"Like Nya said, as of right now, we're waiting it out, for now," Cole tells you. "I can watch her for now." He looks over at you, almost father-like.

Lloyd looks at a clock before frowning, "We should all probably hit the hay."

Lloyd couldn't sleep, he just kept staring at the ceiling. You were a child and he didn't know how long it was gonna take for you to get back to your normal self. Granted Sensei Wu was way older, maybe it would only take a week for you?

He frowned and turned towards his door. He got up and headed towards Cole's room, where you were supposed to be, but was terrified when you weren't there.

"Y/n?" He calls out, looking in every room, before sighing in relief when seeing you in the kitchen with Cole. You were sitting in a high chair and giggling around, while Cole was heating up so food. "What are you doing?"

Cole nearly screams when turning around and seeing Lloyd standing at the doorway. "Don't scare me like that!"

"It's 2 in the morning," Lloyd angrily scolds Cole.

Cole just rolls his eyes and pulls out the food from the microwave, before putting it on a table. "What are you doing up?"

"Couldn't sleep?"

Lloyd sits in a chair close to you, as Cole begins to feed you. "Yeah. I don't know. Why are you feeding Y/n at 2?"

"She was hungry. She started crying," He makes an airplane sound and you eat it up.

"Good thing she's eating," Lloyd off-handedly remarks. Cole looks over at him, confused.

"Was she not eating?"

"Well, not at 2 in the morning," Lloyd jokes, before sighing and leaning on his hand.

"Worried about what we're going to have to do?"

Lloyd looks up at him, before looking back at you, "I'm just worried."

"We all are, but you're taking this pretty hard."

"Am I?"

Cole chuckles, "You're kidding right? Can't sleep? Worried something's going to happen? Worried about how long she's going to be like this. Do you want me to continue?"

"No, I get it."

"I'm sure we'll manage-" Cole begins, but Lloyd quickly interupts.

"What are we going to do?"

"I don't know, Lloyd, you're the leader, you tell me."

"I don't know either

Lloyd POV:

I walked into the monastery and found the others in the living room watching tv.

“Where have you been?” Kai asked lazily and I shrugged.

“Hanging out with a friend,” I said and they all looked at me.

“You have other friends?” Jay asked and I frowned a bit offended.

“Yes, yes I do.” I said, it was true, I did have a few other friends from school outside of my family, but I don’t think they’d see Y/n as someone who falls under the term of ‘friend’.

“With who?” Cole asked, trying to make sure an argument wouldn’t start. I sighed and turned my back to them, putting my stuff on the table. “Y/n,” I mumbled.

“Who!?” Kai shot up, I’m pretty sure he heard me, but just was not really wanting to hear it. “Y/n,” I repeated louder this time and turned to him. “Something wrong?” I asked challengingly.

“Oh come on, Lloyd! She’s a thief, she’s a bad influence!” He said and the others just laughed. “You’re just mad that we got beat into a race by a group of teens,” Nya accused and Kai scowled at her.

“Oh please, I could beat them any day! They just caught me of guard!” He said and turned to me. “What did you do with her? Steal some lunch or something?” He asked sceptically.

I shook my head a bit annoyed. “No! We just hung out, and she was really nice and funny!” I told them. “And yes we grabbed lunch, and she payed, for all of it, leaving a tip and everything!”

“It is pretty weird behaviour to steal from a store, but being generous like that at the same time.” Zane said.

“Honestly, I think she just does it for the kicks.” I said and they all looked at me. “The kicks? She wants to get kicked?” Zane raised a brow.

“What? No- it’s like, they do it for the thrill, for fun. But like at places like Harvey’s who don’t suffer from much loss,” I explained.

“I thought she was just poor or something,” Jay said and I shook my head. “Believe me, she is not, I walked her home, and I’m telling you, she is rich rich.”

“Ohh, got yourself a rich date?” Nya winked. “You think she’s into girls?” She joked, making the others laugh and Jay let out an offended noice.

“I still don’t trust her,” Kai said and I groaned. “Kai! You’re the one that got me her number in the first place!”

“I didn’t know she was a thief!” He argued. I just sighed and remained silent, not wanting to get into an argument.

Your POV:

I hummed to myself, sitting on a building in the middle of the city, watching it slowly die down. I loved to watch Ninjago city at night, there was darkness but lights everywhere, mostly at Borg tower of course.

I looked at the time, almost two in the morning. I had school the next day, yeah, definitely sleeping trough maths.

I had an oversized hoody on -which I may or may not have stolen from James- and hid inside it. It was cold out. I had my earbuds in and my phone rested in my pockets.

Maybe I should go back, I did not feel like getting a cold or anything, if there’s something I hate, it’s a stuffed nose.

I looked up to watch the stars, instead, all I saw where clouds and a big raindrop landed on my forehead, followed by tons of others.

Definitely my sign to go.

I looked down from where I sat. I could jump this, easy. Pushing myself of the roof, I felt the wind travel trough my hair before I landed on my feet.

I tried walking fast as it started raining harder and harder.

To invested into getting home before everything was soaked -spoiler alert, it already was- I didn’t notice the puddle of water mixed with mud and stepped right in, slipping and falling backwards with a yelp.

I expected to hit the ground, but I didn’t. Someone had caught me and then steadied me to my feet.

“Look at that, seems like we meet again.” I turned around and found myself staring at the green ninja, flabbergasted and flustered by his quick appearance, I couldn’t help but blush.

“Where you following me?” I suddenly realised and he laughed. “I saw a potential thief, don’t blame me,” he joked and I gave him a look. “Kidding, I saw you and then you fell, you’re lucky I’m quick.” He winked and I rolled my eyes.

“My hero,” I said sarcastically. “What are you doing out here anyway? It’s night and it’s raining cats and dogs.” He asked sceptically and I shrugged.

“Didn’t check the weather before leaving home,” I admitted and he shook his head. “You need to try staying out of trouble, sweetheart,” he said and I swallowed thickly at the nickname.

I was about to answer but sneezed in stead. “Bless you,” he said before giving me a cocky look. “Well, I suppose you’re already blessed when you look like that,” he said and I was about to retort but shut my mouth, just unnabe to form words.

“Look, this is all fun and stuff, but I need to head home, I’m tired and probably going to catch a cold,” I said and he nodded before thinking for a moment.

“My bike isn’t far from here, want a ride?” He asked and I hesitated. “I don’t want to be a bother, you probably have stuff to do.” I said and he let out a low chuckle.

“No worries princess, not much to do tonight, except for saving pretty girls from falling over.” He winked and I sighed. “Fine, but straight to my house, no funny business, greenie,” I pointed at him and he smirked.

“Whatever you say, ma’am,” he said and I shook my head in disbelief.

My mouth fell open slightly at the sight of his bike. It was beautiful- sure, I’ve seen it on tv, or in the news paper a few times, but in real life it was way cooler.

“Here,” he handed me his helmet and I pulled my hands back. “What- but there’s only one helmet,” I protested. “Just take the helmet, I’ll be fine.” He assured.

“Are you sure, I mean I can-” He cut me off with an exasperated sigh. “Y/n!” He said sternly.

Seeing there was probably no point in arguing I just took it. He then got onto the vehicle and helped me climb on aswel.

“Where to?” He asked and I told him my street name. “Ohh, rich girl,” he said jokingly. “Better hold on tight,” he said and it took me a second to built up the confidence to wrap my arms around his waist.

He sped off, and honestly it was amazing. James had a bike, and I take passenger rides all the time, but this, this was different, it was incredibly fast and The Green Ninja managed to make his way trough the streets without any issues.

He went slower at my street and a few houses down I told him to stop. It had stopped raining when I got off and took of the helmet.

“Thank you,” I said with a smile and he took the helmet back from me. “Not a problem,” he winked once again. “You live here?” He looked behind me at the house with slight confusion, I didn’t really get why.

“Uh, no, a few houses down, but I snuck out, and your vehicle is rather loud, my mother will personally murder me,” I said and he laughed a bit.

“Oh, you’re a rebel aren’t you?” He teased and I just breathed out a laugh. “Aren’t you funny,” I said sarcastically.

He was about to say something but stopped, I heard vague talking of someone and realised he must be wearing an earpiece or something.

“Yes- alright, alright I get it, I’m going,” he said a bit irritated. “It’s not to much of a deal, not like there was much going on anyway.” He said.

He looked back at me and smiled. “That’s my sign to go. You should head inside and take a shower,” he said and I nodded.

“See you, princess,” he said before speeding off again.

I proceeded to sneak into our backyard, this way I could get into the kitchen and sneak upstairs.

I peeked trough the window. It was dark, no one was inside. I snuck trough the window I left open for myself and then upstairs where I took of my clothes and hung them to dry.

After taking a quick shower and laid in bed. The next day was going to be hell.

I was completely and utterly right, I got detention for sleeping in maths class, which got my friends laughing it me during lunch, I bought a coffee in the school cafeteria and I forgot that I was holding it so it went cold, and look at that, Miss Malcam was sick so we had a substitute… no one likes that substitute, she’s horrible and always has it out for me specifically.

Oh, not to forget, I was sneezing, causing and wheezing, the whole enchilada. My nose was stuffed and I felt like I couldn’t breath, I basically looked like shit.

And of course, it can always become even worse.

As I was looking for my next class -I forgot, alright, don’t blame me, blame the constantly changing schedule- I bumped into someone and fell.

I was caught, though my phone wasn’t as lucky. “Oh, I am so sorry!” I said and then bend to pick up my phone, then looking at the person in front of me.

“Falling for me, are we?” I locked eyes with Lloyd and I swear to god, I wanted the earth to swallow me whole.

I. Looked. Terrible.

“Lloyd!” I said surprised and embarrassed. “I uh, I thought you said you graduated last year.” I stuttered nervously.

“I did yes, but Kai teaches the self defence class here and he can’t make it so sent me instead,” he explained and I just nodded absently.

“I see,” I sniffed, making it feel like my eyes are going to pop out of my scull.

“Are you alright? You look sick,” I said concerned and I shrugged. “I’m fine, I was out in the rain yesterday, just a cold.” I waved it of and inspected my phone for damage, but it was fine.

I glanced at the time and scowled. “I’m sorry, Lloyd, but I really need to get to my class,” I said and he smiled slightly.

“It’s fine, I’ll catch you later?” He gave me a crooked grin that made my knees weak. “Yes, I’ll see you!” I waved before quickly walking off.

I want to die of embarrassment.

I sat next to Amelia in Science and she grinned at me. “You still look like shit,” she said and I glared at her. “Your face did gain some colour though, something happen?” She wiggled her eyebrows and I sighed.

I told her the story and all she could do was laugh at me. “Honestly N/n, you’re the most badass, fearless person I know, and there you are, nervous because of some boy,” she said and I hit her shoulder, making her laugh even harder.

When the lesson was over, we met with Luna and made our way to our very last class of the day.

“Where’s Flora?” Amelia asked Luna who had been in the same lesson as her. “She’s gone to some of her other ‘friends’. Said she’d meet us there.” Luna said and I sighed.

“Give it a break, Lu, I know you don’t like them, but we tolerate them for Flors, alright?” I gave her a look and she sighed.

“Yeah, I know, but I can’t handle Flora not being able to see how fake they are with her,” Luna sighed as we turned a corner.

“We have a while, want to head into the restroom and freshen up a bit?” Amelia changed the topic, looking at me especially. “Obviously,” I said and they laughed.

In the bathroom I took my hair out of the way to messy bun it was in, which took a while as the damned elastic got stuck in the hair I did not brush that morning.

I barely had time to get ready that morning, I just put on my clothes and threw my make up and jewellery in my bag to put on at school… I never did.

Millie brushed my hair for me while I put on some mascara and eyeliner, not being much of a ‘full face make up’ person.

Not only because I didn’t have the time, but also because I did not know how to do it -I swear those girls on TikTok are literal magic- and I didn’t take the time to learn.

“See, that’s better… still quite sick though,” Luna commented. It was true, I had puffy eyes and sniffed every now and then. My voice was a bit hoarse and I looked exhausted, but it was way better then before.

“Alright, what do we have?” We looked at Amelia who always was the one that knew where we had to go.

“We have self defence class,” she said and Luna and I shared a look. “Self defence class?” I asked sceptically.

“Yeah, school decided that with the crime going on, not only first years needed self defence class but all the others do too.” She sighed a bit annoyed.

“Meh, it’s fine, not like self defence is that hard.” I waved it off as we excited the bathroom.

“Well, we aren’t all being trained since we where little- which reminds me, can’t you just illusion yourself some make-up?” Amelia interrupted herself.

“I could, yes, but I’m not risking it faltering in front of other people, I’d be the talk of the school and I’d rather not,” I said with a small chuckle.

As we entered the small gym in the school, we searched for Flora.

When I saw her, my fists balled and I quickly stormed over, followed by the other two.

“Hey!” I called out and the boy with his arm around a rather uncomfortable Flora’s waist looked up. “Leave her alone,” I said with venom in my voice.

He smirked at me. “What? Jealous?” He asked and winked, making me narrow my eyes. “Be for real, she is clearly uncomfortable and has a boyfriend, leave her alone or I will knock your teeth out.” I threatened with a harsh glare.

He took his arm off her and took a few paces towards me. “What is your problem?” He hissed and I rolled my eyes.

“My problem is you being a fucking asshole, leave her alone and I might just let you off with a warning.” I said and he huffed a laugh.

“What are you going to do? Throw your nail clippers at me?” He asked and a few others laughed as we now had some on lookers.

“N/n, it’s fine, really” Flora started but I cut her off. “No, don’t even start that, love, I’ll handle this arse for you,” I said and turned back to the guy.

“If you are so cool and strong like you want people to think, then I’ll see you outside after school if you are man enough to fight me,” I challenged and I heard Luna sigh behind me.

“Aand, there she goes, oh we’re going to have to explain to Jamie,” she sighed and I gave her a quick glare.

“You fight me? You’re a girl, I’ll have you down in seconds, if you challenge me I am not afraid to hit you, what will you do when I have you begging for forgiveness on the ground?” he said and I narrowed my eyes.

“If you are going to act like that, I can arrange to pull your bones from your body now instead of later, in fact-” but I was interrupted by someone standing between us.

“Hey, Hey, let’s not do that in this class,” I looked at Lloyd who had intervened. I completely forgot he said he was teaching self defence for Kai.

“This lesson is about to start, why don’t you both sit down?” He suggested and with last glared at each other, we turned away.

“Y/n! Seriously?” Luna asked in disbelief. “What? I can handle him,” I waved her off and she groaned.

“Yes, I know, I’m not concerned about that, I am concerned about the fact that James is going to be so mad, plus, you’re parents are going to ground you for like- forever, again!” She said and I waved her off.

“It’s fine, as long as Flora is alright,” I looked at the girl who nodded. “I am, but you really didn’t have to do that.” She said and I shook my head.

“Nonsense, you’re one of us now, and in our group we protect each other.” I said and she gave me a teary smile.

That whole lesson, I normally would have glared holes into that guys -who I know is Jacob Brown- head, but instead, I was watching Lloyd catch us up on basic self defence, demonstrating a few things and explaining like a professional.

I heard giggling and looked behind me to see Amelia and Flora make hearts with their fingers making me scoff and stick out my tongue.

You and Kai had planned to go on a date tonight. Currently, he was training at the Dojo and you were on your way to pick him up. You didn’t swing by that often but it was nice to see Dareth and whenever you did stop by, he always managed to improve his trophy collection by an impressive amount which you found hilarious.

A small bell rang above your head as you entered the Dojo and you gave Dareth a small wave as you pushed past the beaded doorway and into the training room. The sounds of the grunts and “heeyaws” that echoed through the small Dojo brought a smile to your face.

You put down your bag by the door and stood by Sensei Wu to watch the rest of the sparring match, giving the Sensei a small nod as you entered. Kai was in the middle of his match with Cole when he spotted you. You gave him a cheeky wave and blew him a kiss and just as he was about to respond Cole decked him in the face.

“Oh crap! Sorry dude.�� Cole apologised immediately, kneeling down to help him up. Your eyes widened and you rushed over to Kai. Trying to comfort him, you put your hand on his back and gave him a gentle pat, although it didn’t exactly seem genuine as you stifled a laugh.

“Babe- are you– hah- okay?” A small red splotch started to form on his cheek but he played it off as if he didn’t seem phased. He pat Cole on the shoulder and brushed it off. Despite his best efforts, you could tell he was trying to suppress his pain and you knew it was to try and look tough in front of you. You’ve told him many times before that stuff like that didn’t matter to you, but it still made you feel special knowing he wanted to look his best.

“Perhaps a lesson in evasion will do you good?” Sensei Wu suggested with a small hint of amusement etched into his words. You laughed and helped Kai over to a bench. He playfully rolled his eyes as he sat down and leant back against the wall.

“I was just distracted.” Kai mumbled, gently elbowing you as you sat beside him, your arm sitting nicely around his waist. Cole chuckled and began to pack his equipment into his bag.

“I don’t know… maybe you should stop by my gymnastics class once in a while.” You teased as you playfully nudged him back. “You might be able to learn a thing or two”.

Kai groaned and leant his head against your shoulder, rubbing his cheek with the back of his hand as he gave you a playful glare.

“Gymnastics?” Cole asked as he looked up from his bag. You glanced over to him and nodded with a smile. “Y’know… maybe we could learn a thing or two from you.” Cole suggested and looked over to Sensei Wu. The Sensei only tilted his head towards you in a way that silently asked: ‘are you up for it?’

A few weeks later you found yourself back in Dareth’s Dojo, however, this time you weren’t just picking up Kai. In fact, you were teaching him and his friends. You had agreed to help the Ninja improve their flexibility and reflexes by guiding them through some yoga poses and stretches. You had originally thought it wouldn’t be too difficult, I mean, they’re Ninja, they couldn't be too terrible… right?

Wrong.

“Is this it?” Jay asks as his neck cranes to look at you over his shoulder. His arms are all over the place and he tripped over his feet a good few times trying to get there but he managed a pretty decent Humble Flamingo pose. (https://www.pocketyoga.com/pose/FlamingoHumble)

You nod hesitantly as you approach him, watching as his eyes follow you when you tilt your head in an unsure manner. “Yeah… uhm the only thing is..” You trail off and carefully move one of his feet off of the ground.

“Wait-what?” Jay exclaims before unceremoniously falling over and onto his back, hitting the mat with a harsh thud. You wince and scrunch up your nose at the unpleasant sound as Jay groans, rubbing his sore head. You laugh softly and offer him a hand to which he swats away with a frustrated groan, laying back down on the floor with a huff.

Lloyd, who is sitting beside Sensei Wu on the sidelines, cackles. He had been lucky enough to get out of the gymnastics training today and was finding the whole thing hilarious. Throughout the whole session so far, his wheezing and muffled laughs echoed in the background as the ninja fell over again and again. After the first few falls he had stopped trying to hide his laughter and openly joked about their lack of coordination to his uncle.

Cole groans as he falls over after snickering at Jay. He lays flat on his stomach, grumbling with his face mushed into the mat. You smile and shake your head at him. You had to admit, it was amusing.

Kai laughed too, but he wasn’t doing much better. He was probably the least flexible out of all of them, barely making it this far into the lesson without receiving a fair few bruises. And despite your extra help he still managed to be the first to drop. He never complained though, which was surprising. Although, every now and then, you did see moments of frustration flash through his eyes. You snorted every time.

“I don’t understand your struggle, Jay. It isn’t a hard manoeuvre.” Zane comments, his metallic limbs allowing him to quite easily copy the poses you had shown the group. It wasn’t a surprise he was the best, still, a few particular moves had caused his joints to squeak.

“Yeah? Well, you’re a nindroid, Zane- Not all of us can just have robotic joints!” Jay huffs and sat up, looking to you for defence. You gave him a playful grin in return before wandering over to Kai.

You clasp your hands together, deciding it was time to move on. “Alright… maybe we should try something easier.” You mumble, tapping your chin. You look at Kai who smiles at you, giving you a reassuring nod.

“Finally!” Jay dramatically threw his hands in the air before standing up, cracking his back slightly as he stretched. “Ow..” He mumbles as he rubs his bruised hip.

Kai’s head whips around to Jay. He playfully elbows him, starting a minor squabble between the two. “You’re just mad you suck”

“You’re worse than me!” Jay pokes out his tongue, tackling Kai onto the sparring mat.

“Am not”

“Am too!

Sensei Wu sighs and a small, amused smile plays on his lips. Lloyd continues to laugh, his stomach starting to hurt at this point. He was practically rolling on the ground gasping for air. His laughing soon stopped however, as Cole stood, arms crossed, in front of him, casting a looming shadow across the kid.

Lloyd gulps and scrambles to his feet as quickly as he could and bolts to the door. Unfortunately for him Nya had just walked in with a plate full of fruit, blocking his escape. Lloyd groans. Nya gave him an odd look but still let him hide behind her as Cole approached, now very distracted by the food. “Why don’t you take a break?” She suggests, catching everyone’s attention and offering them her much appreciated fruit platter.

You nod and wave your hand, dismissing the session for now and smiling proudly as you watch them all scramble to get a bite to eat. Your smile grew as you felt a warm set of hands curl around your waist as Kai rests his head on your shoulder. His natural body heat never ceased to calm your nerves.

“You’re doing great.” He whispers, pressing a gentle kiss to your cheek. You lean back into his embrace and sigh softly, closing your eyes for a moment.

“Are you sure? Jay seems pretty annoyed…” Your eyes flit to the blue Ninja who, now, seems to be enjoying himself as he talks to Nya. You watch as he fumbles and drops his watermelon slice onto the floor and rubs his neck sheepishly.

“He’s having fun, I promise.” Kai reassures you, giving you another tight squeeze before letting you go, though one of his hands stays wrapped around your waist as he encourages you to talk with the others.

#✧ zane told everyone the night before (after you vanished for a while) that it was your birthday today. but with the way he so casual woke up on your birthday, at the usual times he did and everything, it took you a good minute to realise, hey. i'm old today.

#✧ and being the wonderful nindroid he was he made you several little trinkets, from a little charm of your element to several badges of things you like– because, well you're the only ninja missing them on your gi (he and jay made them for everyone and disrupted them on each person's birthday). but the moment he saw cole scheming something, zane held back on gifting it to you.

#✧ so to make up for it, he turned into a brother (kai probably coded it into him) and showed you small affections through the day. ruffling your hair, patting you on the back, hugging, everything. not that he doesn't on a daily basis, he's a little less expressive normally.

#✧ he remembered it was your birthday, yes but the hard part was what to get you. he opted for something easy and simple, cake. and because he had so often bought cake (for himself a lot of the time), you didn't quite suspect him getting it for you when you saw the box in the fridge, pushed to the back. cole got you a small one in your favourite flavour and colour, with “happy birthday, [name]” written in cursive on the top in your gi's colour. the sun had barely risen at the time when he got it.

#✧ that was when it hit him, whilr driving back home from the store, that they should have a small party at night. so to be a substitute for now giving you a gift throughout the day, he decided to (harmlessly) use dad jokes on you. (and it's the bad ones to.)

#✧ when you finally show up for morning training, he's the first (after zane) to wish you. engulfing you in the warmest and biggest dad hug of the damn century with the silliness jokes and laughter as he wishes you.

#✧ but for the time being, she and lloyd at some point (he was too because it pay back for last year when they did the same thing for a while week before and after his birthday) were helping you hide away from kai and cole being absolute menaces to your sanity. but it's all in good fun, shows it gonna be a good day.

#✧ one of the two people that forgot it was your birthday, despite the fact he was finishing up the whole ass bike for a whole ass year was quite literally your birthday gift. jay didn't have a very good memory (it doesn't even come near to rivaling wu's though) and when he did realise, boy appeared next to you immediately while apologizing for forgetting and wishing you. he may have short circuited a little when he used his element to speed himself up so he could hightail it from the junkyard to the monastery.

#✧ on the topic of the gift, he was working on it at his parents' junkyard instead at the monastery because it was so much easier to hide it in the junkyard. throw some tarps and cover it up with some junk and you got it.

#✧ but being the loving brother he is, he sat back and watched you wreck your brains over the terrible dad jokes and annoying shit kai was pulling, stepping in to annoy you even more at some point before he disappeared to go and get the damn bike.

#✧ he forgot, but it was expected. he never really cared for birthdays —darkley's never celebrated him and they only matter when he joined the ninja— and he has the worst memory —caused by his seasons worth of trauma— so the moment he remembered, he pulled you to the side and apologized for wishing you so late (that being towards midday) and not getting you a gift (that is a LIE. he hoards so much that he definitely has a gift to give, no matter the occasion.)

#✧ teams up with nya to protect you from kai and cole because it's his revenge for last year (september is his hell, because of his birthday), though it is after he finds an acceptable gift to give you. he figures one of his trillion handmade bracelets (a coping mechanism) can work so he finds a little box and wrapping paper in someone's room and stuffs the paper in the box and puts the bracelet on it and asks nya to keep it with her.

#✧ is the most little shit ever, helping you prank the hell out of kai, cole and occasionally jay back. from dropping water on them to scaring the hell out of them and all the stops. at some point, he drags you and nya to play video games while they get reprimanded by wu. (being wu's gets him out of a trouble.)

#✧ girl showed up a little earlier than the time of the party with a whole ass basket of snacks and foods she thought you'd like. hands it to you and when you return from hiding it from lloyd, she drags you out and takes you out on her samurai x mech for a bit, flying around the city with you in the mech's hands, nya tagged along on the mech's back.

#✧ she big sister's you so sweetly, talking about all of the random shit with nya. it's honestly a cute experience, and really homely and nostalgic of back when you were with your friends as a kid and before you became a ninja.

#✧ takes you to above ninjago city, on the top of borg tower and then to the quieter streets by the port where they took you out to eat at some stall (like an all girl thing.)

#✧ his gift was literally just no training– but in all seriousness, he had a small something to gift to you. he usually gifts the same thing to everyone, but it is personalized to each person. and no one still knows what he's gifted them, so, it's a mystery. (lloyd is praying it's not some clue to the next conflict.)

#✧ he's laughing with zane as he watches his students annoying you, at some point he playfully reprimands them before letting them go to set up the party after pixal and nya take you out for a while, helping them sort the banner pixal brought with her for the party that read “happy birthday [name]!”.

#✧ he's watching over them with his brother and sister-in-law beside him as the boys mess around and set up the little party.

#✧ man is having a ball while watching the boys annoy you, he dropped in once (multiple times) to casually slide in some embarrassing comment and single-handed wiping everyone out by turning them red. he's here for a fun time and apparently a long one too. but he's a sweet old guy who just showing affection for his uh- nth child.

#✧ garmadon, being the dad he is, most likely got you something silly that you and him have an inside joke on (he has atleast one inside joke with all the ninja and pixal). he had gotten it a long while before your birthday, that or he got his hands on something that you were dying to get but either it sold out or was no longer being made.

#✧ when he wished you, he probably pulled you into a hug that dad's give (safe and comforting, warm and protective, all at once) and tells you how proud he is of you, that you're still around and breathing, pushing on and how much he loves and cares for you.

the wind felt nice; despite the night breeze being so cold, it felt good against your skin as you sat securely in the samurai x mech's hands, listening to pixal and nya ramble as the nindroid flew you three in back to the monastery. the lights were dim in the courtyard and the only light was from inside, not to mention it was quiet– too quiet...

“guys– it's too quiet,” you mumble back to the ladies wking beside you, stopping as you pull the water ninja's sleeve to get their attention. nya shoots you a firm look, noting it herself while pixal looks around before looking at you.

she shakes her head slowly, “my scanners say there is no danger.”

reluctantly you nod, but trusting in her eyes and judgment. they both continue walking in, nya taking your hand in hers gently and tugging you along softly as she smiles warmly with comforting eyes. “there's nothing to worry about, don't worry, okay?”

“..okay.”

you walk in beside nya, tensing the moment someone covers you eyes and everywhere darkens for a moment before the light returns and pixal's squeezing your shoulders lightly.

“surprise!” they all say as everyone beams at you. there's curly ribbons in your colours (your gi and favourite colours mixed in them), the banner looks beautiful, there's little presents in different boxes behind the small cake. you swear you're about to cry when you realise that hey, this is for you.

it's been hell, and no one's actually celebrated their birthday for a hell of a long time before the conflict and missions you held as the ninja; ninjago's protectors. you say quiet for a moment to properly register it, the fact you're alive and loved. it a sweet feeling, giddy.

“thanks guys,” you say after a while, hugging pixal, who's hugging you from behind, back with an appreciation tone and smile. “thank you guys so much.”

“c'mon, kai, light the candles; we have one more embarrassing thing to do. and there's sing happy birthday,” jay laughs pulling you over to the cake, with a comforting smile, as he sits you down in front of it.

oh fuck. you're screwed now.

୧ ⎯⎯ MORRO WU

[ for plot purposes, this is in the past before morro died. he fleed the monastery and found another elemental master and you two stuck together, meaning he's alive to atleast see his teenage to adulthood years, depends on your age. you're the same age ]

#✧ morro is probably the only one who doesn't get you a gift, but he wishes you surprisingly heartfelt. it's the one time he hugs you and says something soft and sweet– the complete opposite of him normally.

#✧ your birthday is the one day that he and you goof off on. you're jumping into a lake together and play fighting together, stealing sweets and some food and he's sneakily taken a cupcake and candle to celebrate you a little bit. he probably steals a necklace or bracelet he thinks you might like and gifts you it.

#✧ overall, it's really sweet the way he worries for you and actually celebrates your birthday, taking out his time to give you something worth remembering unlike the other days and his own birthday (one of which he refuses to celebrate, and you respect his wish despite being who started the birthday cupcake tradition and upholding it every year.)

Ninjago - How the Ninjas Act When You Get Captured

Jay

When he first heard you were captured, he froze where he stood

Then he comes alive with an entirely new level of anxiety

He’s running around, shaking people by their shoulders, talking at a million words a second, pulling his hair, the whole chalupa

He struggles to calm down enough to actually come up with a plan to save you

Someone has to restrain him so he stops disturbing the others while they think

He finally shuts up when they come up with the final plan

Then he’s all ears

He ends up doing more than his part to save you; he’s more violent with his opponents and he even takes over tasks that the others were supposed to do

He’s sort of ruining the plan, but fortunately it all turns out okay

He finds you tied up in a room, and he practically melts with relief

Throwing his arms around you, he buries his face in the crook of your neck

He stays like that for a while, and you realize that he’s crying

“I’m so sorry… I’m so glad you’re okay… I’m sorry…”

“Hey, it’s okay, love. But, uh… do you mind untying me?”

He sniffs sharply, snapping up and nodding aggressively

He keeps his hands on you the whole time

He insists on holding hands while you flee the base, even though that made it difficult to run

When you got back to the Bounty, he refused to leave you alone

He was scared that you’d be taken again, even when you were miles and miles away from danger

He’ll probably be extra clingy for the next while for the same reason

Cole

At first he didn’t believe it when he heard you were kidnapped

He had to hear the news a few times for it to really register

Then he had to sit down; the room seemed to be spinning

Luckily his teammates were able to pull him out of his stupor with a grounding hand on his shoulder

He was eager to come up with a rescue plan

In a rare display of initiative, he makes most of the plan himself, dishing out orders with surprising authority

And he maintains a leadership role throughout the mission, keeping tabs on everyone and their tasks

Of course, that doesn’t mean he neglects his own responsibilities

He actually gives himself the most important jobs, wanting to make sure that they’re done just as he planned

This includes locating and procuring you

When he finally finds you, he runs over and begins untying you

Once you’re free, he lifts you off your feet in a tight bear hug

His hand is pressing your head firmly against his chest, and he’s peppering you with kisses

“Oh my lord. Oh man. You’re safe. You’re safe, right? Oh lord.”

“Yes, I’m okay, Cole.”

You attempt to wrap your arms around him too, but they’re pinned to your sides too tightly

Eventually he realizes that he’s losing time, so he takes you by the hand and leads you away

When you’re back on the Bounty, everyone tells you about what a great leader he turned out to be

But you notice that their praises are going in one of Cole’s ears and out the other

He’s just staring at you, a little smile on his face as he rests his head on his arm

He’s holding your hand, gently brushing his thumb over your fingers

When they finally leave you alone again, you ask why he’s looking at you like that

“I’m just glad you’re back. Safe. I love you.”

Kai

His initial reaction was a violent panic, and he tried to run to your rescue right away

Luckily someone stopped him; he wouldn’t have even known where to look

Once the initial panic wore off, he was filled with rage

Partially at himself

He was impatient in making a rescue plan

Every time they couldn’t agree about something, Kai would snap, shouting a decision the others were scared to refute

So the plan was admittedly pretty sloppy

And of course Kai barely even stuck to it

He just barreled into action, bashing every head he could get his hands on

He was on an absolute war path, and the others just ended up kinda watching him

Blind as his rampage might have been, he was doing a good job of clearing out enemies

By some miraculous coincidence, he found himself in the room you were being held in

His rage dropped like a mask, and his face was suddenly tender as he bolted to your side

He cupped your face in his hands, turning it from side to side to check for injuries

“Y/n! Are you okay? Does anything hurt? Did they hurt you??”

“I’m fine, Kai. We should hurry.”

His face remained tender as he carefully untied you

He then insisted that he carry you out

Your objections were readily ignored, and he ended up picking you up bridal style mid-protest

He was weirdly undampered by the extra weight

It actually gave him more energy to have you in his arms, and he managed to jog all the way back to the ship

This was only possible because he’d already knocked out every guard and soldier in the vicinity

When you get back, he apologizes sincerely (he still blames himself :( ); you’ll have to be the one to comfort him

Lloyd

He’s actually pretty calm when he hears you’ve been captured

On the inside he’s freaking out, but he knows that panicking won’t do you any good

So he buries his feelings for the sake of efficiency

He’s a little withdrawn during the plan-making process because of his anxiety

He makes sure to do his part flawlessly though, especially because he knows your safety relies on it

When he finally finds you he gets right to untying you and asking if you’re hurt

His worry shines through a little with all the questions he presses on you

He barely waits for you to respond to all of them; the second you get up, you’re wrapped in a gentle hug

He’s a little afraid of hurting you, so he doesn’t squeeze too hard

But you know from the hug that he’s been worried sick (if the questions weren’t telling enough)

He forgets the mission for a moment, completely lost in the relief of having you in his arms again

You’ll have to snap him out of it to get him back in the game

He trusts you to handle yourself, so he’ll take the lead, only looking over his shoulder a couple times to make sure you’re following

When you get back to the Bounty he gives you another hug

It’s tighter this time because now he knows you’re not hurt

“I’m so relieved that you’re safe. I don’t know what I would’ve done otherwise.”

“Then let’s not think about it.”

He’ll let you have your moments with the other ninjas (who are all also glad you’re back :) )

Then he’ll make you both some tea and sit down with you

He encourages you to talk about it, but if you aren’t up to it he’ll do the talking

He’ll tell you how worried he was, and how he knows now that he simply can’t be without you

You’ll talk long into the night, sorting out your feelings from the whole affair together :)

Nya

Much like Kai, she was ready to jump into action the second she found out you were gone

She doesn’t blame herself too much; she’s mainly angry at your captors

And they’ll get the worst of it when she’s unleashed upon them

She won’t go on a totally destructive war path, but lord help any soul unlucky enough to stand in her way

She’s hasty in her plan-making

She actually made the plan as she was running to your rescue

The others scrambled to keep up, knowing it was pointless to reason with her when she got like this

Despite being an impromptu plan, it was actually pretty efficient

Of course, some people (cough cough everyone except Nya) had to improvise to patch the holes in their instructions

But it wasn’t all that disastrous

The only disaster was the state of the place when you guys left

Nya beamed when she found you, not even bothering to untie you before lifting you up and hugging you

She sets you on your feet, looking you up and down before locking eyes with you

Tears brim her warm brown eyes, and she pulls you into a second hug

This one is more emotional; in a few moments you can feel tears soaking through your clothing

She sniffles suddenly, pulling away and patting your shoulder

“Right then. Shall we go?”

“Yes, please.”

When you get back to the Bounty, she insists on having you by her side while she steers

You’ll rest your head on her shoulder, and she’ll lean into your touch

Once she gets to the point that she can switch to autopilot, she hugs you yet again

This time she murmurs about how worried she was, how much she missed you, and even how much she loves you

She smiles softly to herself when she finishes speaking, closing her eyes and rocking back and forth gently

She’ll have you stay in the cockpit with her until she’s ready to go to bed; she doesn’t want to lose sight of you anytime soon

Zane

Out of all the ninjas, he was the most calm when he heard you’d been kidnapped

Of course, he had an initial reaction of shock, but after that he was cool as a cucumber

He couldn’t deny the strange anxiety bubbling in his chest, however

He knew it was because he cared for you, and he wanted you back badly, but it was still a strange sensation

Probably because no one else made him feel that way

As usual, he was an integral part in the process of strategizing the rescue mission

Anxiety be damned, he was going to give his all

And he kept this attitude for the whole mission

Even when he saw you, he asked rather stiffly if you were okay before untying you and guiding you to safety

He gave no indication of his worry, nor his care for you in general

This wasn’t intentional, though; he was only trying to stay in optimal performance

Once you get back to the ship, then he’ll reveal how he was feeling

He’ll wait until you’re alone to say anything

This exacerbates your suspicion that he wasn’t worried at all, but you were immediately reassured when he sat before you

He was close enough that your knees were touching

He stares deep into your eyes

When he speaks his voice is filled with the tenderness he lacked earlier

“I’m sorry I haven’t been there for you since this all happened. I was only trying to execute the mission before, but now I’m here. I’ll listen if you want to talk.”

“Zane…”

Whether you take him up on his offer or not, he’ll be sure to reassure you he loves you before your conversation is done :)

And he insists that you guys cuddle close when you go to sleep

he gets so antsy when the lightning starts to strike; he has to go outside and release some of his energy

if you don’t mind the rain, then he’ll take you on a dragon ride; the both of you just revel in the chaos of the storm :) and if you don’t, he’ll just go on a dragon ride for a bit

he LOVES playing in the rain - especially with you!

once he’s done and worn out for the day, you’ll both snuggle up with hot drinks and watch a movie or play a game while listening to the thunder

storms trigger both his artsy and romantic side

sometimes, he just wants to stay in, be cozy, and do a little drawing or reading (maybe some light songwriting too) while having some soft music play in the background

you will 100% find this man seated next to a window while absentmindedly gazing at the rain

other times, he wants to be sappy and take you out into the rain with him <3

if you kiss him smack dab in the middle of a storm, it will make him perish

enjoys reading by a window with you

you two will also make a large batch of a homemade hot beverage for the team together

if the waves and/or currents are too strong, then you two will just sit on the bounty watching the ocean…nya LIVES for the adrenaline rush a violent ocean brings

enjoys meditating during stormy days; will invite you to meditate with him

this man will drink an obnoxious amount of tea during stormy days

if you’re training to become an elemental master with him, then he will treat it as a normal training session and make you train outside anyway

𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘 (𝚑𝚞𝚖𝚊𝚗)

he loves storms and uses the chance to sharpen his more violent wind attacks; he takes inspiration from the storm, in a way

you watch him train quite a bit; if you’re an elemental yourself, then you’ll train with him

he likes observing the world from a high point while it’s storming; the violent wind gusts combined with the thunder and lightning never fail to get his heart pumping…he’ll bring you with him too sometimes, and you both will just stand on top of a skyscraper or mountain to just soak in the chaos

PRESS START | NINJAGO

Kai Smith x Reader

A stranger keeps beating your high-score, until one day you find out who.

Entering the old arcade, you felt an immense power of nostalgia overcome you.

Hearing the kids laughter and the sounds of beeping from the machines, you smiled to yourself knowing how much you missed this place. You wonder to yourself if anyone has yet to beat your high-score in any of the games, you chuckle remembering the old times when kids tried to surpass you, but failed.

Walking up to the counter, you ordered a few coins with a grin, knowing you wont be here for long.

‘Space invaders’ One of your many favourites, you tapped a button, making the screen light up in different pixelated colours, you darted your eyes over the names on the leaderboard.

You were in second.

You looked at the name above yours and smirked, ‘Kai’ is his name, you loaded up a coin in the slot and sat comfortably in the plastic chair. Automatically you pressed start and the game begun.

You felt bad for the little kid, that ‘kai’ is probably crying knowing his high score was beat. It was the next day and you walked through the glass doors of the entrance to the arcade, some employees even greeted you, considering you’re a regular. Passing the shooting game you made a small glance over, seeing a guy about your age with spiked up brown hair. You paid no mind to it and continued to the counter to purchase some coins.

Once you got to the Space game, coins in hand, you realized the boy left, shrugging it off you sat in the seat once more with a flick of your finger on the big red button, the screen showed the leaderboard and your mouth agape.

Your high score was beaten once more by that ‘Kai’ guy.

You grumbled to yourself then with a smirk you started to chuckle, whoever this ‘Kai’ person was, you knew you were rivals. You decided to stop playing around and actually try your best in this game, your hand moving around the joystick, fingers pressing to eagerly shoot the targets, eyes darting across the big screen.

Left, right, right, left, up, left, down.

Moving your spaceship and shooting the targets.

The next day, you came back to the arcade, once you entered the door you heard someone yelling to themselves. In curiosity you followed the voice which lead to the same game you’ve been playing the past few days. Seeing the same boy with spiky hair and a red hoodie on, he couldn’t seem to beat your high-score, he would either be 100 points off or lower, mostly 100. Reading the screen that announced game over, he dug his hand into his pocket but paused. Checking his other pockets frantically he realized he ran out of coins, giving up he entered his name onto the leaderboard.

Kai

Your eyes widened and you felt your lips tugging up with a small chuckle, he tapped the enter button and saw his name in second place, getting up from his seat in defeat, he turned and saw you watching while leaning on a claw machine with your arms crossed. He tilted his head in confusion but then saw you walking up to him, being a few feet away from each other, you held your hand up for him to shake.

“Good game” You spoke out with a smug grin, his eyes widened in realization and he smiled with a fiery look in his eyes. “Good game indeed, you were quite the challenge” taking your hand in his, you both shook your hands and released from each other’s touch, chuckling with closed eyes you nodded towards him.

“Many years of experience I guess?” You shrugged with the same smile on your face.

After chatting with the hot head for a few hours along with a small hangout, it was quite fun going around the arcade and beating little kids.

But you knew you had a new rival and a new friend to compete with, or maybe a player 2.

Summary: While the ninja are away, they miss you more than anything. How would they react if they found you were taking care of them from across Ninjago?

Lloyd Garmadon, Nya Smith, Kai Smith, Cole Brookstone, Jay Walker, Zane Julien (separate) x gn!reader

Lloyd:

Lloyd was heartbroken to leave for the mission in the first place. Poor baby has attachment and abandonment issues, so he hates to leave. So, when he finds your care package it really brightens his mood for the rest of the mission.

Someone, probably Kai, makes a comment in passing about how Lloyd didn't leave anything for you. Lloyd instantly feels worse, but he gets over it. He knows you, and he knows that you wouldn't be angry.

If the mission is going to last a while longer, he will send you a letter. It contains how much he misses you, a very large thank you, and ramblings about how cool he was in his most recent fight. Extremely unorganized, but cute nonetheless.

When he feels lonely without you near him, he re-reads the little note you sent him, 'Hi, honey! I hope you like everything I packed, I tried to pick your favorites. I miss you so much, LOVE YOU!' It makes him feel a little less far.

When he gets back, he is going to be ALL over you. He went so without cuddles, and you even took care of him from across Ninjago!! He is so thankful for you. <3

Nya:

Outwardly, Nya doesn't seem to be affected by having to leave, she most definitely is, though. Nya doesn't want emotions to cloud her view, so she just pushes them down.

When she's alone, she finally allows herself to miss you. Doing so, she looks for the picture of you two she always carries, and happens to find the little package hidden in her luggage.

Nya goes red as soon as she realizes that you knew, you knew that she was horribly sad to leave you. You can read her like a book, and she hates it.

She takes her time to enjoy everything you packed for her when she gets down-time. She is so grateful to you for looking out for her even if you aren't there physically.

Once she gets back, she will be more affectionate in private. It's how she's able to show her feelings without embarrassing herself. She isn't good at verbalizing feelings. (I feel like Nya shows affection like a cat, she comes to you.)

Kai:

Some little mission? Nothing the fire ninja can't handle! Kai is so confident, almost to a fault, so he acts like nothing bothers him. When, in actuality, a lot of things easily get under his skin. Leaving you, especially.

Kai is very emotional when he finds the little package, he will even start to brag to the other ninja about how amazing you are, how you're all his, the ninja start to get annoyed with him lmao.

Kai being dramatic aside, the smallest most unnoticeable things you do make his heart melt every time. He thinks he's all big a nd tough, but you just make him so soft.

Kai will lay in his cot, and think about you at night. <3 He'll hold his pillow and pretend it's you to finally be able to sleep. Poor baby wishes you were here to take care of him and dote like you always do.

But seriously, he falls even more in love with you, if that's even possible. Kai is rough and fiery, much like his element, the sweet things you do always seem to brighten his flame tenfold. He is always willing to complete a mission if it means he can see you afterwards.

Cole:

Cole probably didn't notice till like the last day- In his defense, the mission did take most of his time, and the only free time he had was spent training. When he does find it, he's like, "Who the fuck put smashed cake in my clothes????? >:( I'm still going to eat it!!"

When he does notice, he is so happy, especially because you packed him a slice of cake, SCORE! He'll even eat it out of his clothes, he's cute, not clean...

He is genuinely so touched that you would bake/buy a cake and send him some for the mission. <3 The way to his heart is through his stomach, that's for sure.

Next time, he will check first thing if you sent him any goodies. He's like a kid on Christmas. The other ninja see him rip all his clothes out of his suitcase as soon as they get to their destination and are like, wtf??

Because he found it closer to the end of the mission, it will be fresh on his mind, so he will be sure to give you a big thank you in person. He will be yours for like the next two days, all over you.

Jay:

It would probably be so hard to sneak something in Jay's stuff. He definitely checks that he has everything over and over again. It's like five minutes before the ninja need to leave and he's re-packing his underwear lmao.

If you somehow are able to hide a care package in his stuff, he'll find it almost immediately, it's like he's got a nose for it I swear-

It makes him really happy though, his mom used to pack him little things when either of them would be away, so it's like a sweet little burst of nostalgia, he cries.

He rants to Cole about how amazing you are, Bestie Things™, Cole is lowkey so thankful Jay has you to look out for him, it makes Cole happy too. :)

When they get back, Jay will tackle you in a hug, he is so mushy and sentimental all of the sudden you think something happened. He has to explain, no, nothing happened he just loves you and wants you to know it. <3

Zane:

Zane is a robot, so it's a bit hard to choose what to send him. Like what does he eat??? Batteries?? You genuinely do not know what he can eat, if anything. So you send him some nice double A batteries and oil, yummy, right?

He leaves something for you too, he's like a 5-star chef, so he cooks all your favorites before he goes, sweet boy wants you well fed and happy!

When he finds everything, he is a tad confused. He eventually realizes that you just want him taken care of however that may be for a robot.

There are times that he wishes he was human like you, there will be a point when you pass away and he will be alone. So seeing you try to take care of him, albeit in a strange-ish manner, he forgets about his past worries.

Even if he can't enjoy what you sent, it's the thought that counts. Zane was made to protect those who cannot protect themselves, so having you doing your best to help from the sidelines motivates him to do his best.

Kai general and Romantic headcanons

A/N:sorry if I got any of the characters wrong, I was using a combo of wiki/Google translate as I don't speak any of the languages mentioned. Pls let me know if I got any info wrong, i will gladly go in and change it to make it right.

General:

Half Indian and half Chinese.

His and nya's last name is 鄭 (Zheng), but he says it's Smith bc when they where younger he got in the habit of lying about his name so he Didnt have to deal with CPS.

His ma is from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, and was a practicing Hindu. Ray is from the 云南 (yunnan) province, and was a practicing theravida Buddhist. Ray is ethnically from the 傣族 (dai people, also spelt Tai in english)

Before his parents dissapearances, they both brought him to their hometowns, and actively taught him both cultures and religions, which he continued to learn about and even teach Nya about after their dissapearances.

When he was 14 he bought a small boat and him and Nya rode it across the costal line, and he promised Nya one day when he was older he'd bring the both of them to their parents hometowns.

He's a Buddhist.

He speaks so many languages.

Like so many

He's fluent in Thai, mandarin and cantonese chinese, telugu, urdu, hindi, Punjabi, arabic and ninjago-ian(idk whatever language ninjago speaks)

Also trying to learn Indonesian.

He also knows yunnan dialect bc his dad would speak in it more often than not
