How would the big boys (like Taiju, South, Mochi and Keizo) react to their baby/children always stealing their baby momma's time and affection? I can totally see them [the boys] being needy (ranging from sexy time to just wanting their undivided attention)... we love our big men simping for us, it got me feeling some type of way ngl

Taiju Shiba - The Non-Negotiator
"Bedtime!"
The shout is accompanied by two groans and one squawk. Your eldest child turns from her iPad and slides down from her perch at the kitchen table, grumbling, "Dad, can I have a few more minutes?"
"Nope, it's a weekday," Taiju murmurs, plucking the youngest from his seat in the high chair and kissing your cheek as you wash the dishes. The middle child is standing behind the couch, playing an impromptu game of hide-and-seek with her father. She watches her sister and brother be ushered off to bed, giggling when she catches your eye. "Maria!"
The sound of her name being called makes her hush, and she stands absolutely still. You look away, smiling to yourself as Taiju begins his nightly "get the kids to bed" routine. (It was his choice, not yours.)
"Have you seen Maria?" Taiju wonders, walking back into the kitchen with the youngest still on his hip. The baby boy grabs a fistful of his hair, tugging on it as Taiju scans the living room briefly.
"No, I haven't, love," you reply, blinking. "I think I saw her in the game room earlier." Taiju groans, walking back upstairs to check. Your child peeks out from behind the couch and snickers again, covering her mouth.
"Maria!" The baby laughs, babbling as Taiju comes down the stairs again. "I just want some alone time with your mom," he whispers, landing on the last step. "Is that so much?" Your eyes flick toward your daughter and then back to your husband. You repeat the action, and Taiju catches on, following your gaze to the backside of the couch. Maria laughs loudly as Taiju catches her in his other hand, scooping her onto his shoulder. The two children laugh and chuckle as they're carried upstairs, one swinging with her little braids.
"Goodnight!" you yell up after them, wiping your hands on a dishtowel and going to the main bedroom to get ready for bed. Taiju joins you almost thirty minutes later as you settle into bed, sighing and closing the door.
"Finally," he grumbles, coming around the bed and taking your hips in his hands. "Some time alone..." Taiju rests his face in the crook of your neck, kissing your skin gently. "I love you, babe."
"How far do you think we can get before Maria wakes up and asks you to scare the monsters off?" you joke, kissing his cheek. Taiju groans, pulling back and taking off his shirt. You trace your fingers along the various tattoos on his body and bite your lip, looking at him lustily. "Want to make your bet now?"
"I'll do it some other time," Taiju whispers, shucking his pants off and lying on the bed. "Need to take of you right now."
South Terano - Hires Help
"The baby should be down by now," South murmurs, looking at his phone. "Haven't heard from the babysitter yet."
"It's alright," you reply, sliding your shoes off and resting on the hotel bed. "She's probably fine." South raises his brow and quirks his lips before sitting next to you.
"Did you enjoy the restaurant?" he wonders, taking off his jacket with care.
"You know I love fancy food," you laugh, turning so your feet rest in his lap. "But I loved spending time with you more."
"Haven't gotten a lot of that in the past year," South breathes, closing his eyes and letting his hands cup your feet. "We've both been insanely busy."
"Being a stay-at-home mom can be fun," you counter. "But it does drain me at the end of the day."
"I know." Fingers move around your feet and begin to massage them tenderly. You exhale deeply, leaning your head against the headboard and relaxing.
"Been meaning to tell you that I've missed our little nighttime chats, too."
"Really?" you smile, remembering how you'd keep South awake at night, talking to him while you were restless due to the baby in your belly not wanting to settle down. "We'd talk - well, I'd talk - for hours..."
"You'd always fall asleep mid-sentence." You both laugh to yourselves, then South moves to climb into the bed next to you. "But I get you to myself tonight." South kisses your lips, then rolls on top of you, pressing you against the bed. "Any objections to that, sweetheart?"
"None at all," you tease, tapping his nose lightly. "Not a single one."
Kanji Mochizuki - The Planner
"Say bye-bye!"
"Buh-bye!"
"Bye! Love you!" You both wave at your three-year-old son, smiling and watching him leave with your mother-in-law. As soon as the car pulls off, Mochi shuts the door and turns to you, his eyes softening as you lean against the wood.
"What?" you wonder as he slowly advances on you, cupping both cheeks and kissing you gently. "What is it, babe?" Mochi leans his forehead against yours, sighing tenderly.
"Some alone time..." he murmurs, nuzzling your nose before kissing you again. "This week has been hell."
"It has," you echo, feeling the need to relax pulling at your body. "Maybe we should--"
"I've already got a plan," Mochi smiles, pulling back. "Let me just go get things ready." You wait patiently as he walks away, a little pep in his step as he goes to fetch his things. You watch him go from the bedroom to the main bathroom, bath water running in the background. You hear him hiss sharply once, but other than that, it seems like he's gotten things under control.
"Alright, come on in," he calls out, and you step into the bathroom, which is somehow transformed into an oasis. The lights are off and there are candles scattered about, all boasting the same scent of freshness and a hint of... coconut? "Your bath awaits," Mochi smiles, waving to the tub. You shed your garments and step into the not-too-hot bath, sighing as you sink into the water.
Mochi kneels by the tub, observing as you get comfortable with his tender gaze. "Talk to me about your week," he breathes, and you perk up. It's not that Mochi never asks you to talk to him; sometimes, you just don't have the energy to. But now that you're alone, you launch into the good, the bad, and the ugly about the work week. Mochi sits by the tub, resting his elbows on the edge and listening intently. And as you wrap up the events, he pushes his sleeves back and dips his hands into the water.
"Sounds like some interesting stuff happened," he murmurs, taking your leg and kneading it between his hands.
"Wasn't like it was all avoidable," you muse. "But it was a really weird set of events." You cock your head to the side. "What about your week?"
"What about my week?" the black-haired man wonders. "I really didn't do as much as you did."
"Come on," you urge him, flexing your foot. "There has to be something interesting about your week."
"Nah," Mochi replies softly. "You have it worse off; I can guarantee it. But I hope this makes it a little better." You cup his cheek and lean forward to kiss him, leaving bubbles on his face.
"You always make my days better, Mochi." Mochi kisses your ankle, then places the leg back in the water. "Don't know what I'd do without you."
"I'll second that."
Keizo Arashi - Holds the Fort Down
"Mommy's coming home soon!" Keizo's only son runs down the stairs, throwing his arms up in the air. His daughter, who turned a year old two weeks ago, peers around her father's shoulder to look at her sibling, frowning.
"Yeah," Keizo murmurs, scrubbing at the counter. "Mommy's been doing a lot of work lately.
"You don't work, do you, Daddy?" his son wonders, stopping his running to do a brief pull-up on the kitchen island.
"You know I work," Keizo responds, handing the tyke a toy truck lying on the ground. "That's why you go to school and Celia goes to daycare. Put that away before mommy comes home." The boy speeds off, running back up the stairs to toss it into his toy box. Keizo turns around, the baby strapped to his chest going with him as he cleans around the house. Spotless. The entire house has to be spotless before you arrive, that way Keizo can do what he does best, which is spend precious time with you.
You wouldn't feel obligated to do anything except put your feet up, watch TV with him, then let him take the reins while he got the kids ready for bed.
The back door opens just in time, and his son comes running down the stairs, arms wide open to greet his mother.
"Hey!" you laugh, grabbing your child in a hug. "How was the day at school, sweetie?" Your son recounts the day's events as Keizo and your daughter come around the corner, one of them looking much more exhausted than the other. "Hey, little momma," you coo, kissing her cheeks. "Been good today?"
"It was a good day at daycare," Keizo fills you in, leaning in for a kiss. You hold him close and kiss him twice, smiling widely.
"Good to hear." You jiggle your baby's leg before setting your purse down. "The house looks spotless," you mention, eyes wandering around the space. "Did you...?"
"Take the night off," Keizo offers, delivering a quick tap to your behind. "I've got this."
But Keizo really didn't have it. As he tries - for the third time - to get your youngest to sleep, you watch on. Celia cries loudly, her body vibrating against Keizo's as he tries to shush her while bouncing on the balls of his feet and lightly tapping her back.
"I can get her," you mouth, but Keizo shakes his head.
"I've got this. You go get ready for bed. I'll be there soon."
Forty minutes later, you reemerge from the bedroom, wondering where your husband is. You find him in the nursery, fast asleep in the chair with Celia on his chest. You tenderly pick your child up before placing her in the crib, then rouse Keizo. He awakens with a start, but you put your finger to your lips and move out of the nursery, holding his hand.
"Can't believe I fell asleep," he yawns. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," you respond, sitting on the bed. "It's been a long day, huh?"
"Brahman's taking a lot of energy out of me, but I'll get the hang of it. This and the kids." You nod, kissing his cheek softly.
"That's all we could ask for." Keizo brings your hands to his lips, kissing your wrists before sighing and resting them on his chest.
"Wanted to spend some time with you... Kids keep getting in the way," he mumbles, yawning again. "You want to talk about your day?"
"Not really," you whisper, reaching over to pat his cheek. "You need some sleep. I'll catch you in the morning, though. Maybe we can catch up then." But Keizo's eyes are already shutting as he holds you against him, his breath evening out while you both find relaxation in the quiet, peaceful night.

Hello. If you still accepting asks, can I propose idea of 'AU where Yoichi and Himura clan are related' for 5 headcanons 🙏?
How fitting, Himura is written with the kanji for ice, but also to gather
1- Himura Ririka is from an old, traditional, and wealthy family. She knows her parents would die of shame if they saw her now, sitting in an alleyway waiting for the pregnancy test to finish. She doesn't care. She brings her bottle to her lips and while she knows the drink inside is colder than it probably should be, she doesn't think much of it. Perhaps it's the shade of the building or the light breeze. The test comes back positive, but there's no way for her to know there's twins. She packs her things and moves- sleeping on the ground can get cold, she's woken up with frost all over her blanket and even though she doesn't feel sick, she'd rather not die of exposure just because she's numb to it.
2- When the babies are born, they are hungry. She tries to nurse them but everything hurts and she is tired. She closes her eyes and doesn't open them again. The bigger baby keeps drinking, and when there's no more, keeps trying to until an ice meta power slides into him instead. When the river almost washes him and his brother away, they'll survive floating on an ice raft.
2- on the streets, the children barely manage to survive, but unlike everyone else they have an easier time in the winter- even Yoichi, who is normally sick. They suppose it's because the cold kills the things that sets off his allergies and because he has his brother's body warmth to cling to.
3- when the boys are ten, they fully realize what it means the there are other metas out there when they hear of the Ice Fortress - apparently, there's an extended family where nearly every child born in the last eight years has had an ice meta power, so the relatives have gathered together to protect them all. A few other metas hope to find them and join them too. AfO and Yoichi creep along behind.
4- the metas don't exactly get a warm welcome from the Himuras, though- they're welcome to join the family to work for them, but only if they can be of use. A few of the group are hired as guards. Most of the women and children are sent away. Yoichi turns to go too, but AfO grabs his hands, and they wait. The Himura spokesman tries to shoe them away once the others are gone, leaving to go back inside, but AfO sends a jet of ice forward, keeping it from closing. When the man turns, shocked, AfO just says that this is Himura Yoichi, his little brother, and they are Ririka's sons. The boys are hurried inside.
5- the boys are the eldest of the group of cousins, and pleased enough with the new food, though Yoichi asks with every group if they can help them more. His uncles chide him for being like a soft-hearted girl. Yoichi stares blankly at them for why that's an issue. He cries when sent away to do chores to learn manners though, so AfO responds by making the uncle's daughter cry... By cutting her hair and stealing her meta power. With this, the whole family is in uproar about an imposter child, a brood parasite, but their grandmother calls them back to order by reminding them she had paternity tests done to be sure, and that AfO's ice is from his mother, her daughter. Then she points out that Ririka must have been the first case of meta powers, if it developed sometime between her running away and the boys being born. Somewhere between 2 and 5 years before the glowing baby. They could use that. AfO is named Himura Magoichirou and is rewarded with double dessert for returning his cousin's power. He and Yoichi receive more tutoring as the family plans to use him, and in return, he starts planning on how to use them, growing from prince to king of their little clan, and soon enough, their not so little swatch of control.

[Bleach 129]
I am the kind of person who will latch onto one thing one character said one time and gnaw on it compulsively like it’s some kind of diction dog toy. These panels are fairly innocuous, relative to what comes immediately before and after them (that is, Matsumoto’s dream about her and Ichimaru’s origin story, followed by news of Hinamori’s jailbreak). But they’re also the first time we see Hitsugaya and Matsumoto really interact.
In fact, we see Hitsugaya interact with Ichimaru (throwing out death threats) and Matsumoto interact with Hinamori (handing over contraband) before we get to see Hitsugaya and Matsumoto interacting with each other. We’re being introduced to them with these two other important people already in the mix.
What might we glean about Hitsugaya and Matsumoto, before we get to the Ichimaru bit? Across the board, Hitsugaya’s speech generally isn’t that formal, because he’s a boy in a shounen manga and he’s also the boss, so there’s less of a requirement, but I also think there’s an intimacy being shorthanded here. He could be less incredibly casual, pull a Byakuya and just use plain neutral language to address his subordinate, Matsumoto, but Hitsugaya also just did an entire ream of paperwork while she stress-napped in the office. He tells her, 構わん (kamawan, it doesn’t matter), using a shortened/masculine/superior’s form of 構わない (kamawanai). When describing Ichimaru and Hinamori’s altercation, he uses the phrase モメ方すりゃ(momekatasurya), the ending of which is a shortened/masculine/colloquial version of -すれば (sureba). Additionally, this phrase is made more casual/emphatic by using katakana instead of kanji [揉め becomes モメ]. We don’t know them yet, but we’re being asked to know them. We have about thirty seconds and two lines to do so: Syllables drop out and close the distance between them.
Despite this, Hitsugaya still seems to have a dim understanding of who Ichimaru might be to Matsumoto. His full line goes something like,
Seeing your cohortmate and junior in conflict like that would probably be trying for you, too.
Hitsugaya refers to neither Ichimaru nor Hinamori by name. Instead, Ichimaru is "douki," or cohortmate, and Hinamori is "kouhai" (junior cohort). Which, knowing what we know about Ichimaru and Matsumoto’s whole deal, feels like a somewhat inadequate way to describe it. XDDD The whole sentence is couched in the epistemic mood; Hitsugaya seems a little unwilling to assert anything concrete. Maybe Hitsugaya is trying to split the difference and be sympathetic while also not making assumptions, hence "douki" instead of “friend,” or “past lover” or “your version of a Hinamori, maybe...?”
This is where I go full doggy toy, because also like, what if we take Hitsugaya at his word here and accept that this is not as convoluted as it sounds, because douki is actually a meaningful and relevant relation within the Gotei?
The Viz translation is more natural than what I offered above (I mean, outside of the decision to refer to Ichimaru as "Gin" in the same breath as Hinamori is “Hinamori”―bold move, Captain Tôshirô!). "Your classmate Gin" still feels weird, though, because in an English-speaking context that kind of makes it sound like Hitsugaya’s throwing it back all the way to like, school classes at the Academy. But you can have Work Douki, as many large companies will welcome an incoming "class" of new employees who are entering the company at the same time. ...Of course, Matsumoto and Ichimaru did not actually… join the Gotei at the same time, either. Maybe they’re close enough, in the scheme of the thousands of years a shinigami might work for the Gotei. Though this would imply that Hitsugaya’s douki are RenjiKiraHinamori(Rukia), which I doubt is something he’d claim.
So I’m kind of taken by the idea that douki could have a looser literal meaning in the Gotei, and is one of the forms of relation that aims to capture a shinigami’s social affinities outside of one’s official seated rank.
Usually, the Gotei is all about rank, rank, rank. But we know there’s also Seireitei vs. Rukongai; there’s gender; there’s degree of nobility; there’s age. These things all matter―if they didn’t, we wouldn’t have a Shinigami Women’s Association; Hitsugaya’s life would probably be easier; the Kuchiki would pitch an absolute fit because of course degrees of nobility matter. Maybe having douki helps recapture the age/experience aspect of a shinigami’s understanding of self/relation, which might otherwise be wholly subsumed by rank.
If douki really is a meaningful aspect of shinigami life, Matsumoto could, say, have a social identity with the 10th, with the VCs, with the SWA, with her douki, and also with her miscellaneous friends. I like the idea that she would get to have all five of these things!
(…All that’s missing is NON-WORK FRIENDS/LOVED ONES…)
I’ve been saying "cohortmate" as a translation for douki, but in my experience in the United States, the cohortmate relationship isn’t quite as compulsorily ride or die as douki are “supposed” to be. For example, there’s a 2004 article in The Japan Times that explains douki as a
"cross between sibling and comrade — the unwritten agreement is that all douki will stick together, whatever happens. / They work together, organize drinking parties, invite each other to their weddings, keep in touch and communicate for decades, often until retirement."
Given that it’s Ichimaru we’re talking about, though, it’s sad, because I don’t think any of those things are actually true of Ichimaru and  Matsumoto’s relationship in the Gotei, except perhaps in the unwritten whisper that it should have been. They should have cultivated this support, shared these memories, expressed this loyalty—they should be ride or die for each other. But they don’t have that—at least, not in any material way Matsumoto feels.
Because in the end, Matsumoto doesn’t know who Ichimaru is, either:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Bleach 129]
Douki...? / Do you really― That Gin ― Ichimaru-taichou ―
More specifically, she says Ichimaru-taichou no koto (市丸隊長のこと), which softens the object of her thought. She’s talking about Ichimaru, but in the amorphous sense of the kind of person Ichimaru is, his essence, things he’s done, the general idea of him. The question comes out of Hinamori’s accusation about Ichimaru killing Aizen, but I don’t think Matsumoto’s really focused on the hard facts of a murder mystery. She’s asking after her captain’s read of who Ichimaru is. Which is a related but, I think, meaningfully different line of inquiry.
After all, we don’t actually have a murder mystery to solve, because Aizen isn’t dead.
What we do have are a spiderweb of tested loyalties (between Ichimaru and Kira, Captain to VC; between Kira and Hinamori, as douki; between Kira and Matsumoto, as VCs; Hinamori and Hitsugaya, as childhood friends; Hinamori and Aizen, not as her Captain but ~"as a man"). But not, notably, between Matsumoto and Hitsugaya, even though Hitsugaya and Ichimaru end up very much at odds.
From the beginning, Hitsugaya summons this idea of "douki" into the room, and perhaps that word clarifies all the things Ichimaru is not.
Maybe it’s then that Matsumoto knew this was going to be the last time she addressed those thoughts in the form of a question.

okay so with all this au talk, the DnD college au is actually occupying most of my brain space. here's how it starts (LOTS more info under the cut):
Yosuke is a college first year and has had terrible luck doing the whole fresh start, make lots of friends (and get tons of babes) so far.... so while he doesn't like his suitemate Kubo too much, when Kubo wheedles him to join him for some dorm board game thing (so he doesn't look like too much like a creep going alone; and "it's not like YOU've got any plans on a Friday night, Hanamura") to get close to Yuki-chan- "and there are other hotties there!!" Yosuke doesn't protest TOO much. plus there's free food!
board game thing was actually a DnD session a couple of other first years are trying to put together. also in attendance are: Souji (the dm), Yukiko and Chie (they're already friends but don't know the rest of the group), Kanji, Naoto (Rise is there briefly (she's Naoto's girlfriend); she won't be joining but she wanted to steal Souji's cooking and catch up a little as she, Naoto and Souji are already friends- Naoto is the one to help convince Souji to put together this DnD recruitment, actually. Rise's very busy but she'll appear on occasion throughout the campaign when Souji begs her to play a dramatic bit parts for NPCs) and Ai just cos I feel like other people than the IT should join for a lil bit (she will make an excuse 20 minutes in "ohhhh something came up I'll be right back." she doesn't.) Mitsuo will not be returning after the first session after Yukiko flatly turns him down. Teddie is back home with Yosuke's parents since he's not college age yet and won't be a part of this at all, probably
first session is a little messy (the enthusiasm levels vary wildly among the players) but what hooks Yosuke and gets him to come back again is one of his off the wall ideas in combat actually worked and won them the battle and the dopamine he got from that is unmatched
what's the campaign look like: UHHHHHH i don't know but I have the vague idea it would somewhat mirror the events of p4- so instead of some world ending adventuring maybe the gang uncovers a serial murder plot? but more fantasy. and maybe the murderer's story is somehow tied to the NPC that Yosuke eventually falls in love with idk
the gang's characters!
Naoto already had their character planned out beforehand: an elf ranger ♂ (Souji had to talk them down from going into some super specific off-book combo to not scare off the newbies that hopefully would join). Yukiko, Chie, and Kanji had all actually read the recruitment flyer for this event so had a vague idea of their characters but haven't played a ttrpg before so just went with what appealed to them rather then how they play. Yukiko: tiefling warlock (and after she learned Naoto is x-gender she thought that sounded fun and made her character x-gender as well; Naoto thinks maybe they're being mocked but it's genuine on Yukiko's part). Chie: human monk ♀. Kanji: halfling cleric ♀. Yosuke had no idea what he was getting into so he's just going for what's Coolest. he considered being a super yolked warrior but nah... not even in make believe. But he could be an awesome stealthy ninja!! So he chooses rogue. as for race, he's not going to be an elf that's basically like being a fairy, right, and he's not... but he thinks they get cool bonus powers or something so he'll go with half-elf.
(Ai tried to be an elf princess but Souji gently maneuvered her to elf druid. Kubo went with the first things that caught his eye: dragonborn barbarian)
as for names, only Naoto came up with one already (Erawin <deeply into western high fantasy>); the rest of the gang workshops names at the table:
Yosuke: Jira (i'm not creative what do u want from me .)
Chie<sweating, desperately trying not to say her literal first thought > : her name is……uhhh… <gives up> Lee…
Yukiko just tries vague grunts to turn into a name (“Grgk!” “no” “Aaaht!” “no” “ERP!” “sounds like a belch” <yukiko laugh > “is that a name?? er- no” “Hrk!” “OKAY YES HRK YOU CAN BE HRK”)
Kanji: Usagi (it is for the reason you're thinking)
anyway the main meat of the au is an NPC appearing and then reoccurring throughout the campaign that Yosuke's character forms a natural rapport with... Souji picks up on this and fleshes out the NPC beyond what was a throw away background character. the gang try to do their DnD sessions every week for at least a couple hours, but it still takes them weeks and weeks to get through what Souji planned. since it's so gradual, Yosuke doesn't notice when their characters' banter turned from playful to outright flirtatious...
and he swears he's not like THAT but he can't help getting so genuinely upset when he dies* in Jira's arms and Yosuke can't separate character from person when he hears Souji's voice tells him before he dies that he- he loves--
*temporarily; I'm not a monster

[PART 3]
Yu Narukami and Yaso-Inaba’s self-declared Investigation Team weren’t the only ones that had come to join the scene.
“Sig!” his friend Amitie gave the cyan-haired boy a baffled look. “What are you doing back here!? We told you we were all going out to celebrate with you together, didn’t we?”
“Just had a delivery to make,” Sig replied coolly.
“Huh?”
Along with Amitie, several other Puyo Magic-users had joined the group as well. The space was becoming a little crowded, making Sig want to duck away.
Yu Narukami, meanwhile, was explaining his team’s predicament to Joker.
“Kanji vanished after the results were announced. We’ve been looking all over for him, but no luck. And our phones aren’t getting any reception here…”
Joker put a hand to his chin. “I see… And how about scanning the area with someone’s Persona?”
Yu shook his head, “Rise had a concert and couldn’t make it today, and Teddie’s powers don’t work here, so…”
“You wanna borrow Oracle?”
These discussions continued as, at the same time, one could hear Yosuke Hanamura speaking to his friends further in the back.
“The results were really close, too… I wonder if he took it hard,” Yosuke scratched the back of his neck, sighing loudly. “Y’know, some people in the audience kinda took the piss out of me when Kanji beat me last round, so I… said some stuff I probably shouldn’t have said to him. ‘Like you’re gonna make it much further!’ or ‘Those were all just pity-points, you know!’... stuff like that.”
“Yosuke…” Chie couldn’t help but sympathize. This all really sucked.
“I’m sure Kanji-kun disappearing had nothing to do with that,” Yukiko tried to comfort. “After all, you’ve said much worse things to him before!”
“Gee, THANKS, Yukiko-san!” Yosuke snapped.
“I agree with Yuki-chan. Kanji’s not the type to get all Yosuke’d up by Yosuke having a Yosuke moment!” Teddie declared with a raised paw.
“What does any of that even mean!?” Yosuke demanded to know. He would not receive an answer.
“Much more importantly! Doesn’t it feel like he’s been even since bearfor the results were announced? I have a feeling like my fur hasn’t been in danger of unsolicited pettings for a whoooole while now…!”
“Wait, he’s right…!” Yukiko realized, and Naoto lowered her head in thought.
“Then I wonder what did make him leave…?”
This was when a completely new voice, that of Arle Nadja, the Puyo-using sorceress, spoke up.
“Hey, speaking of that, Schezo’s been gone for a while now, too…” she stemmed her hands on her hips and looked over the crowd. “I didn’t think much of it at first, because he’s really not one for popularity contests, what with his whole ‘darkness and solitude ‘ shtick. But your friend was the one he was up against this round. Both of them disappearing at once is a little suspicious…”
“Oh, maybe they went celebrating together!” Amitie bounced.
Yosuke raised an eyebrow at that “Huh? But they’re complete strangers.”
Amitie beamed, “A stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet!”
“Somebody keep this child out of public!!” Morgana almost shrieked in alarm at that statement, and someone with a rather similar-sounding voice to Morgana, Ringo Ando, laughed awkwardly.
“Ahahaha… Sorry for that. Looks like we need an Amitie-chaperone over here.”
“On it,” Sig raised his human hand and shuffled Amitie, who gave a confused “Huh?”, aside.
Meanwhile, Rulue, a close acquaintance of Arle’s and Schezo’s, spoke her own thoughts, “Hmpf… That dark mage up and disappearing right after a battle with no trace of the opponent doesn’t bode well. He is definitely up to no good.”
Arle awkwardly laughed at that, “I mean, I’d be worried about that too… But it’s not like the other guy was a magic-users, so…”
Yu Narukami listened up, “Would it change anything if he could use ‘magic’?”
At that, Arle bit her lip a bit and shuffled around before responding, “Um, well, Schezo kinda used to have a habit of kidnapping other mages to extract their magic power from them. That’s how we first met, actually. But he hasn’t done anything like that in a while, because he’s been so focused on going after my power-”
“Huh? Actually, he wanted something like that from me too a while back, I think,” said Amitie.
“Same here,” Sig nodded, showing his crimson arm.
Arle froze up. “R-Really…?”
The entire Yaso-Inaba Investigation team were staring at each other in horror.
“Uh… Do you think…  Can Personas be, eh, ‘extracted’?” Chie carefully asked the pressing question.
The answer came from one group over, from Morgana.
“It’s possible,” he said, with a grim look on his face. “But if it were to be done, it would be disastrous for the Persona User. The result would be a Mental Shutdown.”
“Kanji!!”
Yosuke dashed off, without a second’s delay.
“What the…” Chie was so surprised when he pushed past her, she almost tripped. “...Oh, what the heck, Yosuke! We don’t even know which way to go yet!”

cw: implied pregnancy
Dabi has done a lot of stupid things in his life, but this – THIS, the little kid bouncing on Shigaraki's twig-like lap - is probably the stupidest one of them all.
Not the actual kid, okay. The kid is actually pretty smart. It just took her one mere glance at him before she recognized him as her dead-beat dad, cooing smile and all.
Her Dada didn't even so far notice. Not the smiles she used to only reserve for her Dada but now includes Dabi; not the insistence to be carried by Dabi when Shigaraki is out away. Not the calls of Papa, nor the fact that her bright blue eyes exactly match Dabi's.
Even Spinner has noticed, and he is legally blind.
"I'm near-sighted, idiot," the blind – 'near-sighted!!' – lizard says, tapping impatiently at his elbow as he waits for Dabi to complete his diaper run. "Come on, just pick one already."
"Shut up, this is serious," It really isn't. Shigaraki told him to get diapers and make sure to find the penitentiaries they’re keeping Muscular and Moofish. But the villain stuff is easy, the diaper thing is hard. Dabi can’t tell between the super absorbent to the super soft, but he refuses to get anything that’s not the best.
Anything for his daughter, and the moody Dada-slash-Employer-slash-Accidental one-night stand who he grew to love willingly but also peevishly.
Dabi gets the diapers from all different brands and turns to Spinner who calls Kurogiri to get them.
Dabi almost trips as he exits the portal, his boot catching the closing rim. Just a second more and Kurogiri would’ve cut his foot off, which, okay, he gets it. Everyone knows - the League, Kurogiri, the kid, but not Shigaraki, no. He remains blissfully aware that Dabi was his one-night stand, that a complete stranger-turned-LOV’s right-hand man knocked him right up with this pudgy little baby. That or maybe he just doesn’t care. From what Kurogiri told him, Shigaraki took the parenting role quite seriously when their kid was born, and never since did Shigaraki look back and searched for the father.
In many ways, Dabi finds that admirable. But he can’t deny the hurt he feels thinking that he would not have known his child if he didn’t join the League of Villains.
“Here are your diapers, kid,” Dabi announces, plopping the stolen plastic squares on the bartop. The kid squeals, reaching for a packet as she sits atop Shigaraki’s lap.
“Her name is Tomoko, you cretin,” Shigaraki chides, but nonetheless, helps their daughter filter through the diapers. “I don’t understand why she likes you so much.”
Dabi shrugs and raises a finger for his Tomoko to grab on. “We just connect, I guess.”
I actually have some baby names prepared for dabishiga (& touten) kids but one name i really like is Tomoko, simply because it sounds like Tomu-ko (トム子), which tomura wanted to name his kid (short for Tomura no ko 弔の子 which means Tomura's child) but kurogiri is like pls don't name ur kid one half katakana and the other half kanji so they just settled for Tomoko instead!with the following kanji 友子 to note that Tomura and his kid will be together when they topple the hero society together!

The female character with blonde hair and sun visor is named "Tamayo Yoshida"(吉田珠代), which is different from "Namie Komatsu," the woman with the orange hairband. *Pronunciation is provisional. The Kanji of the name her is almost the same as "jitianzhudai"(吉天珠代).She appears in the Motoha Corp Rank 9 event. (according to the stream #15 by よしぞう)
Oh, haha, I've been checking Yoshizou's streams every day for exactly stuff like this! You definitely beat me to watching it, though, I wasn't even awake when you sent this in.
I think he's probably right about Tamayo being her first name, though the last name's a lot harder to say (could be Kichida, Kitta, Yoshita, Yojida, Yotsuda, Raide, etc.). Still, that's a lot more info than we had yesterday, haha!
For anyone who hasn't been keeping up with his videos, here's what happens:
Looks like she shows up in the Rank 9 event sitting in the booth next to Wonder and Motoha's booth, overhears at least part of their conversation, and seems interested that this is Motoha Arai, so she follows them to the batting cage in Yongen-Jaya.
In the Rank 10 event, she sets up in one of the batting cages after Motoha's done, and hits three home runs in a row on "super difficult", which greatly impresses Motoha.
Tumblr media
After, she comes over to Motoha and Wonder, and Motoha immediately compliments her. She says she's been working hard, and calls Motoha her "eternal rival", though Motoha doesn't seem to have any idea who she is.
Tumblr media
She says of course Motoha wouldn't remember a "mediocre person" like herself, and introduces herself as Tamayo Yoshida (though this isn't voiced, so I can't confirm especially her last name, but I'll call her Tamayo because I have to call her something here), a member of the high school girls' baseball club. This name finally jogs Motoha's memory, which makes Tamayo grin.
Motoha's surprised Tamayo is still playing baseball, and Tamayo confirms she kept with it even after Motoha "retired". She "never imagined that her eternal rival would disappear from the pitcher's mound one day without a trace". But it's like an opportunity from a dream for her to see Motoha again, and she asks Motoha to help her. Motoha's confused again.
Tumblr media
Tamayo says that she plays every day in the hopes of reviving women's professional baseball. Alone, her power is limited, but she thinks that if she's with Motoha, they could definitely...!
Motoha's glad to hear her say that, but says she can't help Tamayo like she is now. She couldn't even hit a home run like Tamayo just did. Tamayo isn't deterred in the least, and seems to be saying that's just because Motoha's rusty; she hasn't lost her "baseball genius" yet. As long as she trains hard, she'll become a "first-line" player! Motoha as a kid was good at both pitching and batting.
Motoha admits that's true, but that was in the past.
Tamayo then turns to Wonder.
Tumblr media
She asks him who he is to Motoha, which gives Wonder three options: supervisor (?), friend, or boyfriend. Yoshizou picks "boyfriend", and Motoha says this isn't the time to joke around, clarifying they're friends, and Wonder is her current "coach" (which I believe is the premise of her Confidant). Tamayo says that, from what she's seen, as a coach, he "hasn't done many things well"? Motoha tries to defend Wonder, but Wonder's responses are either "Calm down" or "She's right".
Motoha refuses to back down, and demands Tamayo take back what she said. Tamayo says she's just stating the facts; if Motoha trains with Wonder, she'll never play baseball like she did before. She asks Motoha to join her team, with their first-class coach. Motoha doubles down that she can't help Tamayo, and that she's still bothered by what Tamayo said.
Tamayo finally gets annoyed, and challenges Motoha to home run match. If Motoha wins, Tamayo will take back what she said, but if Tamayo wins, then Motoha has to join her fight for women's professional baseball. Motoha, also still angry, agrees. Tamayo says whoever hits more home runs wins. Motoha just needs to call Tamayo whenever she's ready to face off.
They exchange contact information. Tamayo says she'll be waiting for the day Motoha joins her team, laughs, and leaves.

let's study japanese by reading golden kamuy.
specifically, let's look at how noda-sensei added a bunch of lines to the scene where ogata hyakunosuke kills his father. i have included the pages in question here for your reference. he added quite a lot of dialogue. the anime goes by the volume version of the manga, so i believe most of these lines were spoken verbatim in the anime, but japanese is so full of homophones that it can be hard to learn new words just by listening. so let's read.
this is not the beginning of the scene, but this is where the dialogue additions begin. i wanted to make a post about this because EH scans never covered these lines-- at this point in the story, they were using magazine scans, not volume scans. as far as i know, only viz and various anime subs have translated this part. and i don't think viz did a very good job. so i wanted to put my translation out there for people who want to waste even more time thinking about ogata hyakunosuke and what he Really Said. but i'm not going to bother with a typeset version of just 5 pages. and i'm not going to go find this scene in the anime to compare the translation of the subs. and keep in mind that i'm a novice.
here are the lines in order, starting at the top of the first page. yes i really typed out and analyzed them one by one like this. (i typed them out so you can copy-paste the kanji to look them up if you want... i hate having to look up kanji radical by radical...) a slash indicates a split in a compound speech bubble. these slashes may or may not indicate the end of a sentence. (japanese uses punctuation sparsely and you have to kind of feel out where the sentence ends sometimes, so speech bubble breaks are worth noting.)
raw: 父上と本妻との間に生まれた息子さん…… / 花沢勇作少尉が高潔な人物だったことも証明している気がします phonetic: chichiue to honsai to no aida ni umareta musukosan...... / hanazawa yuusaku shoui ga kouketsu na jinbutsu datta to mo shoumei shiteiru ki ga shimasu my translation: The son that was born to you, father, and your real wife... I think the fact that Second Lieutenant Hanazawa Yuusaku was such a noble character is proof of that. viz's translation: That's why your legitimate son… / …second lieutenant Yusaku Hanazawa was such a principled individual. notes: when he says "proof of that," ogata is using yuusaku's virtue as evidence to back up the claim he just made that a child born to parents who love each other is blessed. also, this line wasn't an addition compared to the magazine version, but rather, it was changed. however, i lost track of the magazine version raw of this chapter for comparison.
raw: 入隊して初めて会いましたが / 面をくらいましたよ phonetic: nyuutai shite hajimete aimashita ga / men wo kuraimashita yo my translation: I met him for the first time when I enlisted, / and I was taken aback. viz's translation: I met him when I joined the military… / …and I was stunned. notes: it seems the usual way of phrasing "men wo kuraimashita" would be more like "menkurau" so the "wo" stuck in there confused me... anyway it means "taken aback" or "bewildered."
raw: 「規律がゆるみますから」と何度注意しても部下の俺を… / 「兄様」と呼ぶのです phonetic: [kiritsu ga yurumimasu kara] to nando chuui shitemo buka no ore wo... / [anisama] to yobu no desu my translation: Even though I warned him many times that it would "weaken his discipline," / he called me, his subordinate, "big brother." viz's translation: I warned him that it was bad for discipline… / …but he called me his big brother. notes: i think it's notable that ogata refers to himself as yuusaku's subordinate ("buka"). that was omitted by the viz translation, probably in the name of dumbing it down clarity. the fact that yuusaku outranked hyakunosuke is really important to the relationship between them. obviously it made hyakunosuke feel even worse about himself, but he hides that.
raw: 「ひとりっ子育ちでずっと兄弟が欲しかった」と / 俺にまとわり付くのです phonetic: [hitorikko sodachi de zutto kyoudai ga hoshikatta] to / ore ni matowaritsuku no desu my translation: He said, "I was raised an only child, so I always wanted a brother," / and he clung to me. viz's translation: He'd always wanted a brother… / …so he clung to me. notes: matowaritsuku, "to coil about; to follow about; to surround; to cling to." maybe this line was added just to be heartbreaking.
raw: あの屈託の無い笑顔…… phonetic: ano kuttaku no nai egao...... my translation: That carefree smile...... viz's translation: He had an honest smile. notes: kuttaku no nai means carefree, and it doesn't mean honest. don't make a mistranslation and then bold it. they bolded it! isn't that embarrassing? also they vaporized the powerful double ellipsis. lame.
raw: 「ああこれが両親から祝福されて生まれた子供なのだ……」と / 心底納得しました phonetic: [aa kore ga ryoushin kara shukufuku sarete umareta kodomo nanoda......] to / shinsoko nattoku shimashita my translation: "Ah, so this is a child who was blessed from birth by both parents……" / I accepted that deep in my heart. viz's translation: I realized deep inside that here was a child blessed with the love… / …of both parents. notes: nattoku "understanding; satisfaction (e.g. with an explanation); being convinced." so seeing yuusaku's carefree smile and affectionate behavior, ogata took that as evidence affirming his theory about being born blessed; he accepted that yuusaku was blessed and took it to prove that he, by comparison, must not have been blessed.
// chichiue ha hontou no koto wo gozonji nai hazu da my translation: By the way... / About how Second Lieutenant Hanazawa Yuusaku really died at 203 Hill... // You probably don't know the truth of the matter. viz's translation: Do you want… / …to know the truth about how he died… // …on 203 Meter Hill? notes: here the // indicates that it was two separate speech bubbles, because even though i was giving each speech bubble its own entry, the viz translation combined two separate speech bubbles into one sentence! so i had to put them in one entry. anyway, it's plain to see how much viz dumbed it down... try to keep some of the sentence structure, maybe?
raw: 俺が後頭部を撃ち抜きました phonetic: ore ga koutoubu wo uchinukimashita my translation: I shot him through the back of the head. viz's translation: I plugged him in the back of the head. notes: listening to this line in the anime, i was chilled by how ogata conjugated the nasty verb "uchinuku" (to shoot through) with the polite verb ending "mashita." he's using mostly polite speech to speak to his father in this scene, despite everything. so that's one reason i don't like how viz used the nasty slang term "plugged" here. yes, both lines are nasty, but the politeness is what is striking.
raw: 少尉殿に対する妬みからじゃありません / 父上を苦しませたい…というのともちょっと違う / ただひとつ確かめてみたかった phonetic: shouidono ni taisuru sonemi kara ja arimasen / chichiue wo kurushimasetai... to iu no to mo chotto chigau / tada hitotsu tashikamete mitakatta my translation: It wasn't because I held any jealousy toward the second lieutenant. And it wasn't quite… that I wanted to make you suffer, father. There was just one thing I wanted to check. viz's translation: Not because I was jealous… / …or because I wanted to make you suffer. / I wanted to check something. notes: based on the way he said it, i think he did want to make his father suffer just a little. he said it was only chotto chigau.
raw: 勇作さんの戦死を聞いたとき… phonetic: yuusaku san no senshi wo kiita toki... my translation: When you heard about Yuusaku-san's death in battle... viz's translation: After you heard about his death in battle...
raw: 父上は俺を想ったのか.../ 無視し続けた妾の息子が急に愛おしくなったのではないかと... phonetic: chichiue ha ore wo omotta no ka... / mushi shitsuzuketa mekake no musuko ga kyuu ni itooshikunatta no de ha nai ka to... my translation: Did you think of me, father? / I thought you might suddenly come to love your long-ignored son of a mistress... viz's translation: …did you think of me? / Did you suddenly feel for the son you had ignored? notes: the phrase "itooshikunatta" is key here. it's from itooshii 愛おしい, "lovely; dear; beloved; darling; dearest," and the "natta" is "became." so it's along the lines of "suddenly became beloved" or "suddenly became dear to you." also he uses the past tense verb "omotta" (thought) but instead of the usual 思 kanji, he uses 想, which jisho.org says "has connotations of heart-felt."
raw: 祝福された道が俺にもあったのか… phonetic: shukufuku sareta michi ga ore ni mo atta no ka... my translation: Was there ever a blessed path for me, too? viz's translation: Was a blessed life ever even possible for me? notes: it's "path" in the metaphorical sense, as in the path you take in life. so translating it as a "blessed life" is acceptable here. and the "too" is probably referring to yuusaku, the blessed child.
now here is something worth noting. hanazawa's last words in this world were changed! well, you'd know if you watched the anime, but anyway, instead of the magazine version, "貴様の言うとおり,冷血で出来損ないの倅じゃ" (It is as you say; you are a cold-blooded and worthless son) it becomes as follows:
raw: 貴様の言うとおり何かが欠けた人間… / 出来損ないの倅じゃ // 呪われろ phonetic: kisama no iu toori nanika ga kaketa ningen... / dekisokonai no segare ja // norowarero my translation: It is as you say; you are missing something as a person… / You are a worthless son. // A curse upon you. viz's translation: You're right. You are missing something. / You're a rotten son… // …and I curse the day you were born! notes: the phrase "dekisokonai" is really cutting. it means, according to jisho.org, "failure; defective article; dead loss; botch; good-for-nothing; worthless person; flop." so "worthless" might be an understatement. what it doesn't mean is "rotten," but i digress. the phrase "reiketsu" (冷血, literally and figuratively "cold-blooded") was removed and replaced with the clause about missing something as a person. hanazawa's very last word, and this was added in the volume version as a new speech bubble, is literally "be cursed" (a command). i thought it could've used an exclamation point, but maybe hanazawa didn't have it in him.
the face that hyakunosuke makes immediately after his father's last words was also added in the volume version. what a treat!
i've been reading through the raws and analyzing them like this for a few weeks now. i mean i don't type them all up like this, but i do try to give the more interesting lines a deep read and try to learn a bunch of kanji while i'm at it. there's nothing like trying to read raw manga to make you feel like your 650-day duolingo streak is actually fuuucking worthless. so i'll make more translation notes posts in the future with some interesting lines that may have been translated strangely or incorrectly. specifically i might make a post similar to this one when i get to some more scenes about hyakunosuke and yuusaku (because i think lines were added in later scenes too) and his long talk with usami (where lines were also added). and maybe some scenes with tsukishima and koito. we'll see how long my hyperfixation lasts.
i guess i'll note that the phonetic transliteration of each line is based on my own arbitrary standards and not on any actual standard of writing out romaji (e.g. i tried to put spaces between words... mostly? i typed "wa" as "ha" when it's written with a "ha" hiragana, for no reason in particular... etc.). sorry if it's confusing.

Dogsred - Rou, rabid dog or wolf?
I think there’s a connection between Rou being called a “rabid dog” and the indication that he will join Oinokami in the future. The “oi” of Oinokami (狼之神) means “wolf” and the kanji can be pronounced “rou” as well. I doubt it was just a coincidence on Noda’s part.
In Chapter 1, as Rou prepares himself to perform his free skating, we see his fans realizing that he has no close person to support him. His mother is dead, and his sister “[hadn’t] come to [his] events in years”, probably since the day she had thrown away her figure skates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe that’s why he didn’t say anything when Haruna asked why he had gone berserk after he received his final score. How could he tell her that she played a part, no matter how indirect it had been, in ending his figure skating career, after she herself had given up on hers because he was the most talented of the two? That might explain why she tries so hard to get him back into the sport. Living in his shadow for so long, she perceived him quitting as an insult to her “sacrifice”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Koichi too asked and got no answer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I suppose Rou didn’t explain himself to him because 1. it wasn’t the latter’s business, and 2. he believed the older Genma brother wouldn’t understand since he had a sibling he could share his love of hockey with.
Rou may not like the idea of playing hockey at first, but he understands loving something and wanting to share that love with another person. The more time he played with his team, the more he learned about and connected with them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it’s no coincidence that the memory of his teammates’ jubilation from scoring their first and only point during their match superposes the one of him performing his last routine (without the support of anyone close to him).
Tumblr media
That happened again when Rou, provoked by his former rival’s insults (which were made up by Haruna), angrily walked to where the figure skating competition would take place.
Tumblr media
In the end, he couldn’t give up on that feeling of camaraderie. He wanted to experience it again, which is probably why he was standing with the Oinokami team (and because Koichi and Nihei were the only hockey-related people he was familiar with, making them his current connections to the sport).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(honestly, I had expected him to join them in their locker room during their break after the first period 😂😂😂)
In other words, like the wolf, Rou is a social creature and needs to connect with a group (a pack) to live. So it is probable his journey will be about transitioning from lone “rabid dog” to member of a wolfpack.

Look at these fucking stats. This spread is absolutely ridiculous. I love it. Shadows be like "um Actually i am resistant to Physical" and Kanji is like "HA no."
which is, I realize, almost EXACTLY the same build I got from Akihiko at high levels. Remember my boyfriend who could punch the god of death to bits and pieces? Persona so far has only one idea of what Lightning folks are like.
Tumblr media
Yosuke is similarly fucking bonkers. I would happily sacrifice, like, 20 points in EN to put them in Luck if I could, but alas, not an option. Yosuke with a high crit-rate would be truly busted, and he already goes first in every battle and wipes the enemies half the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SELF HIGH FIVE, I was right about Rise and her Lovers route being about her and Risette. As we talked about in P3P with Yukari, Lovers is about overcoming your differences to join hands with someone and make a decision to go down a new path together. In P3P it was Yukari and Mitsuru, and here it's Rise and herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was also the crux of Rise's argument with her Shadow, so I am very glad for the continuity of that struggle. In her route, Chie mentioned her frustration about this very thing, that she faced off with her own deepest fears and impulses, so.... it annoyed her that she was still dealing with it months later.
But all of these kids are works in progress in a very good way, and I like that. I feel like it's strongest in Kanji and Yukiko's routes, but Rise and Yosuke also continue to grapple heavily with Their Shit, and it's fun to watch.
Tumblr media
ALSO I OVERHEARD KANJI AND YUKIKO AT JUNES AND OH MY GOD
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yukiko is so fucking cute holy shit. Kanji, when did your hair turn box-bleach blond? Do you have a condition?
Nah Kanji is using supermarket bleach. OH MAN, is that why his hair is that specific shape? I am dying to know if it's like straw because he's using blunt force bleach or if he's learned to do it properly and just likes the swept back look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Logically I know, yes, culturally, it's probably not great for Yukiko to look like former yakuza.
Emotionally, I am SO FUCKING FOR THIS. Also I bet Yukiko would actually talk to people about how to to it properly and then she could teach Kanji how to not fry his fucking hair and they could be bottle blond besties!!!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is one of my favorite convos in the game, i'm not even kidding. If you have Kanji and Yukiko in your party and check the incidental dialogue regularly, they chitchat a lot and I LOVE that they are fucking hanging out in Junes by themselves on a Friday night talking about hair dye.
THEY'RE FRIEEEEEEEEENDS!!!!! Kanji and Yukiko are FRIEEEEEEEEENDS!!!!!!

Chapter 11 Part 7: They don't want you to know...L'Arachel's true identity revealed...not clickbait
Last post, Tana was the only one left in enemy range, and, as predicted, the boss comes in and attacks her, but can't double her. She does pretty well since she manages to dodge again, and still gets her hit in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mentioned last post that the boss had only 1 res and only 7 attack speed. Well,
it's Luting time!
(She did well attacking, so we'll overlook the level up.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aside from the other gargoyle, we also have a couple of random eyeballs to take out.
Tumblr media
I check out the range on the far one, and I see that Neimi can kill the close one and still be safe even if she gets hit on the counter. (My assumption is that I'll definitely take care of the gargoyle, but possibly not the far eyeball.)
*Sigh* Then Neimi misses one of her shots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At any rate, Duessel takes care of the gargoyle, Cormag cleans up Neimi's mess, and Franz actually can easily reach the other eyeball, so things are looking good!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I move L'Arachel up to heal Moulder, who's been about half dead for a couple turns now.
Then I end turn and, before I know it, some random enemy suicides into one of my guys and the map ends!
Because it's a fog map with the rout enemy win condition, they don't actually show you how many enemies are left in the counter on screen, so it's not uncommon for this map to end like this.
Tumblr media
Seth reports to Ephraim that the ship is cleared of enemies and that the ship itself appears to be undamaged.
L'Arachel is happy that we protected righteousness. :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this point, Ephraim finally finds out who this random woman is.
"I am called L'Arachel. I fight monsters for the sake of righteousness and order!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She also reveals that she is actually the crown princess of Rausten, which is one of the other countries with a sacred stone.
Tumblr media
And she mentions to Ephraim that she met a young woman who looked a lot like him. Ephraim realizes that she must have met his sister.
Tumblr media
L'Arachel announces to Dozla that they are joining Ephraim's efforts to fight Grado. Dozla responds that, for Lady L'Arachel's sake, he will jump into a group of monsters, or into the sea...etc.
To which L'Arachel responds that "But of course my retainer would have such wonderful energy!"
I'm actually having a little trouble thinking of how to translate that sentence so that it sounds more like natural English.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She starts with the word "sasuga", which, like "yahari / yappari" which I mentioned before, is another cool word that does a lot of work all on its own.
It's often used when praising someone when you think the person has lived up to the expectations of them, and you want to express your appreciation of that. (Though it's not an inherently positive word, and it could be used to express that a negative result was as expected too.)
"Sasuga, Lute used her incredible magic proficiency to blast that gargoyle out of the sky in one shot!"
So it's a little like "Leave it to [name] to..." maybe. Or "Figures [name] would..."
It's generally written in hiragana, but it can be written 流石, "flowing rock" too.
Interestingly enough, the source of the "flowing rock" kanji probably has no direct relation to the meaning of this word.
The other word that feels awkward to translate is "kiai", which I made into "energy" above. But I feel like the word conveys a mix of energy and also attitude, especially when you are talking about someone who is working really hard, or putting a big effort into something.
Situations like this are where you really get to see the skills of translators, because translating very directly, and trying to capture every little nuance in the original might result in a very awkward-sounding sentence in the target language.
Sometimes the best way is to just totally reword things, but in a way that still captures the feel of the original.
But that's it for chapter 11!
Next up: Chapter 12, and more new friends!

Dojima was gone the next morning. Of course he was. Last night's events replayed in Akechi's head. Mrs. Tatsumi's tears, the tension as Dojima recorded the events on a clipboard and Adachi just had to make an idiot of himself. None of the adults knew. Nanako certainly didn't know. It was cruel to put them through so much, but a necessary evil. Akechi had to keep reminding himself that as he scrubbed his dishes from breakfast with perhaps a bit too much ferocity.
For the first time in a long, long time, Kanji would not join them on the walk to school.
Perhaps sensing his distress, Yu dared to place a hand on his shoulder. "We'll get him today, all right?"
"We as in just you and the others, I presume…" Akechi had no Persona. It was the logical conclusion to make.
"Nah."
The denial seized Akechi's in a stranglehold. He stared at Yu for several seconds before responding. "You're joking."
"No joke." A resigned sort of smile formed as Yu wiped his own plate with a washcloth. "We can't stop you. Even if I said no, you'd probably go behind our backs, and… Well, wouldn't that just justify all the feelings you've been burying inside?"
It took several more seconds for Akechi to respond. He truly expected Yu would draw the line due to his lack of Persona. "...It'd feel like you were backsliding and that you had no faith in me after all."
"Exactly. Which isn't fair. Even Chie tagged along before she awakened her Persona." He turned to the table and passed Akechi a small list. "As long as you're packing some of these, you'll have the means to protect yourself."
Akechi skimmed the list carefully. Value Medicine, Goho-M, and various odds and ends, like… Tesla Coils? Dry Ice? Pinwheels… "Aren't these ordinary items from the Shiroku Store?"
"Yep. TV world sure is something, huh?" Rather than elaborate, he passed Akechi a surprisingly generous stack of yen. "Here, I'll even cover the tab."
Akechi accepted the money, leaning in close, as if this was all some sort of joke with a pending punchline. "Where did you even get all this?" He paused. "Wait, don't tell me. It's the hands, isn't it?"
"Okay, I won't tell you." Yu grabbed his school bag from one of the chairs at the table. "I know your Shadow's a lot to face, but I hope you know you don't have to do this alone. We all know how much Kanji means to you, so if there's anything we can do…" Previous Chapter | Full Chapter | Read from the Beginning
New chapter drops in about an hour! This time I will try to remember to crosspost on time.

If the Investigation Team Played Phasmophobia
Because I haven’t played it in awhile but I might throw in a fanfiction of them playing it because why the heck not (after I finish the Cyberpunk Edgerunners fanfic though).
Yu Narukami - Would seldomly play seriously and never plays VR. He would rarely die and instead get everyone else killed by trolling. He always starts with a thermometer and EMF - the basics.
Yosuke Hanamura - would definitely play VR but everyone makes fun of him and call him a “VR Goblin” because he always plays it in his chair. He would play seriously and would probably guess the ghost correctly 50/50. He would mostly reference the journal and would offer to take the ghost photos. He always starts with a camera, and photo camera to get the bone.
Chie Satonaka - easily scared, but braves it and waits for someone to go in first. She doesn’t look for the ghost room, but instead looks for the hiding spots first. She usually is behind Yosuke or Yukiko. She’s usually the one who finds the bone and cursed object. The Ouija Board ALWAYS picks up her mic. She always starts with the thermometer and spirit box.
Yukiko Amagi - oh Yukiko will get into it religiously and will do it solo. She will become so comfortable with the ghosts that she will do the hugging challenge, join the Discord server, and will thrive to reach level 1K. She will join rando servers and will offer to let the ghost chase her. She takes ghost photos while it chases her and gets a thrill when it’s a deogen. When it’s a custom difficulty she will max it to the highest level. She loves the new asylum map. Her favorite ghost is the Yurei and she hates Revenants and Wraiths because they’re too much of a challenge. She would laugh hysterically during a hunt. She starts with the thermometer and UV flashlight.
Kanji Tatsumi - He will never play unless Naoto is in the same lobby. He will throw hands with the ghost but will scream if it comes too close. He calls “fingerprints” “fingies” and calls the UV flashlight the “jizz detector” because he can’t brain. Banshees love him. Kanji can never find a hiding spot in time if it starts to hunt. He likes to bob his character up and down. He will ALWAYS be down to play Tarot roulette. He always starts with an EMF and spirit box.
Teddie Kuma - He can never position the camera right. He always uses the cursed object early, especially if it’s the music box and will get someone killed too early on. Yokais will ALWAYS pick up on his mic. Teddie always starts off with a video camera and D.O.T.S projector, and will never turn his flashlight on in order to look for ghost orbs.
Rise Kujikawa - Truck princess. That is all. She’s too afraid to go inside.
Naoto Shirogane - The screamer (alluding to her fear of ghosts in Golden). She tries to fuckin’ brave it but will blow everyone’s eardrums out over every little thing. If she turns around and Kanji’s character is too close, everyone will be deaf by the end of the game. She prefers the small maps like the street houses and REFUSES to play VR. One time, she tried VR, at Tanglewood, and she hid in the basement behind the plywood barrier hiding spot and cried because she heard the ghost’s gurgling sounds and they had to take the headset and guide her character out of the house after the ghost was done hunting. She always gets the ghost right after 2 pieces of evidence and memorizes every ghost by the behavior. She starts with the UV flashlight and EMF reader.
EDIT: I imagine there would also be a moment where Yu would keep closing the door on Kanji until the ghost would start hunting, and Kanji would be like “WHAT THE HELL MAN” and then he would start screaming like the iconic moment like Markiplier did, like in this video, and Yu and Yosuke would both be cracking up like Sean/Jack and Bob. Naoto would probably already be dead just like Wade, and then Kanji would be pissed, while the ghost kills him, and be like, “I’m glad that they find my death SO HILARIOUS.”
EDIT 2: Yu, Yukiko, and Teddie would definitely start throwing objects around to throw everyone off and scare other players. Chie would do it if Yukiko is doing it. If Naoto and Yosuke die before they figure out the ghost, they would try to guide the other players into figuring out where their bodes are for insurance money or which ghost it is (they would try to align objects together to spell out the name of the ghost type).

はじめまして~ Hello! I'm Aster from @asterlearns, this is my main blog. I'm on Week 1, Day 7 of the Langblr Reactivation Challenge, so I'm sending out some asks.
How long have you been studying Japanese for? What is your favorite part about studying the language? Have you read or watched anything interesting in Japanese lately that you would recommend?
Is that too much?? Feel free to interrogate me back if you want!
はじめまして、アストルさん! 質問を送ってくれてありがとう! (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Thank you for your ask!!
I started learning Japanese back in May, 2020, when our country was in lockdown because of COVID. Back then, I had been desperately looking for something that would keep me engaged and busy since I was really overwhelmed by the overall situation of uncertainty caused by the pandemic. It was then that I chanced upon this video by JapanesePod101 on YouTube, teaching all hiragana characters in an hour. I challenged myself to learn all the hiragana characters from that video, and started by practising five hiragana characters daily. Before I knew it, I had already started enjoying learning Japanese, and so ended up continuing with the katakana video, followed by learning Kanji on WaniKani and learning the structure/grammar on Cure Dolly Sensei's YouTube channel. I joined college in November 2020, so while I could no longer devote as much time to learning Japanese, I still continued to study the language in my free time. So yes, to answer your question, I've been studying Japanese for around 2.5 years (my answer ended up being longer than I thought it would be😅).
Ah, this one is a really hard question! I'm tempted to say everything, but probably my favourite part about studying Japanese is actually getting to use the language in real life. Over time, I've slowly become able to enjoy certain media in Japanese - songs, interviews, podcasts, stories etc. - with a deeper level of understanding. This year, I've also had the opportunity to attend events where I got to interact with fellow learners and native speakers in Japanese, which was almost a dream come true moment for me. It's also one of my biggest sources of motivation at the moment, the hope that one day I'll finally be able to understand and use Japanese the way I use English - incorporating it in my daily life, making it an irreplaceable part of my identity, and being able to help others fall in love with the language as well.
Yes! I very recently discovered the podcast Let's Learn Japanese with Movies thanks to Tofugu, and I'm already loving the stories as well the format in which the host of the podcast, Aki-san, delivers them. My favourite episode/story so far is The Reader. You can also check out the official website of the podcast to read the transcriptions and watch the videos from which the stories are inspired. Highly recommend it!!
It's not too much at all! I had fun answering all of your questions - please feel free to send in more of them if you'd like - I might not be able to answer right away since I'm giving my exams, but I'd definitely try to get to them as soon as possible! Also I hope I didn't bore you with my long answers😅
Kudos on participating in the Langblr Reactivation Challenge - I'll be looking forward to your posts! And best of luck for your Japanese learning journey, 一緒に頑張りましょう!😃
これからもよろしくおねがいします! (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤️

I am not Your Mr. Miyagi: Rough Draft
I am bored and wanting to post stuff: So here is the rough draft of I am not Your Mr. Miyagi.
-0-
The first time Tsuna ever met Hoshi, she worked at repainting a park fence, not paying attention to anyone. She wore the traditional outfit most town handypersons wore- a white jumpsuit with the kanji for Nammori on the back in black. She kept her hair under a ball cap for the heat and had worn her contacts that day.
Tsuna met her while avoiding some bullies- the nastier ones. It wasn’t often a bully would get physical with him. Most were afraid of Hibari or the teachers. Even the other students didn’t normally stand for actual physical bullying.
It was just sometimes they felt like kicking him when he was down.
They hadn’t noticed the handyman working until she whistled when they’d cornered him.
“If you three have extra energy, I’m sure your parents would agree to you volunteering to paint a fence… or two… or twenty.” She held up her paint can, a single eyebrow raised. The bullies ran off, leaving Tsuna by himself. She snorted, watching them run. “That happen often?” she asked Tsuna, who jerked and blushed.
“Uh… no! No! Just… I’m Dame-Tsuna. I’m kinda used to it.” The woman blinked.
 “…You call yourself useless?”
“I am,” Tsuna said blankly, feeling no reason to refute the truth.
“…If you’re that useless, come over here and make yourself useful.” The woman said. “I’ve got an extra brush.” Tsuna hesitated before he walked over and kneeled, taking a brush and copying her painting.
He got way more paint on himself, and the woman- who said her name was Johnson Hoshi but told him to call her Hoshi-san- had to repaint some of his parts, but she’d told him good job and sent him off with a few yen.
 He felt… he felt good.

“What if I told you I could give you twenty-five years?” the man asked her, standing in the room she was receiving chemotherapy.
“I’d say you’re a scam artist but probably go along out of hope.” She told him, studying the man. He wore a hat made of iron, checkered gloves and a tie. The same pattern rested on his face.
A scam artist or an eccentric billionaire?
“Even if it means abandoning this dimension? Never seeing your family again?”
 “Even then.”

The next time the two crossed paths, Hoshi was trimming some trees in the schoolyard along with a coworker, the job given to them as the students normally responsible for it recovered from being scolded by the Disciplinary Committee for some unknown reason.
 Hoshi didn’t want to know.
“You lost us the game Dame-Tsuna!” Whined some boys as they glared at the young boy who looked pained.
“Shoulda never let him join us.”
 “Yeah!”
“You know,” Hoshi said loudly to draw their attention. “I hate it when someone decides to pin the blame on one student for a game. Is it not a team sport? Even if one student was awful, what about the others? Did they not try at all? Why blame one person? All of them sucked; that’s why they lost. One person doing bad doesn’t mean they lose.” She told her coworker straight face as the man rolled his eyes. “I guess the entire team was useless then.”
Hoshi later would say that she didn’t know why she did it. She blamed her foster siblings, honestly. She never quite liked name-calling ever since.
The kids shut up then, pale and looking a bit ashamed, as Tsuna stared at her with big brown eyes.
…Dear lord, are those flowers around him?
Hoshi firmly kept her gaze away.
Nope. Not falling for it. Nope.
-0-
“Why me?” Hoshi asked Checkerface, sitting in her room, holding her violin. “Why me?”
“If you don’t, then a child may have to take your place. And that… that’s too much for even me.” He said honestly. Hoshi closed her eyes and let out a low noise.
 He had to go there.
-0-
The third time was when Tsuna stumbled upon her dancing around a group of delinquents who didn’t like that she’d trimmed back the bushes to their little hideout. Hibari caught them doing drugs without the bushes and delivered a beatdown. They then attacked her.
They never hit her. She twirled out of their grasp, bent back away from their fists, and jumped over their heads, causing them to beat themselves up, much to her glee.
“…Kid?” Hoshi said upon spotting him.
“Can you teach me?!” Tsuna blurted out, eyes wide as he stared at the bodies behind her. “I’d love to be able to beat-“
“This isn’t Karate Kid!” the woman said, holding her hands up. “I’m not your Mr. Miyagi!”
 “…What?”
“…It’s an American movie. Anyway, kid, I don’t fight-“
“You just beat them!” Tsuna protested, pointing at the bodies.
“By dancing!” Hoshi said, lifting her arms above her head.
 “…What?”
“I’m a dancer, kid- I just danced and was quicker than they were; nothing else about it!” she told him.
“…Can you teach me?” Tsuna asked. “I’m Dame-Tsuna, but you-“
“I just don’t like bullies, kid,” Hoshi told him. “There wasn’t any other reason I tried to help you.” Tsuna, though, just looked at her, desperate.
He was young enough- nine- he wasn’t yet beaten down by the insults and cruelty. None of his life lay around him, destroyed by society to have a scapegoat.
Hoshi looked at him and then cursed, seeing his eyes.
“Damn it. I’m not your Mr. Miyagi!” she said, throwing her hands up. “I’ll teach you ballet, that’s it, got it?” she pointed at him. “You get to figure out the rest.”
 “Thank you!”
“…I already regret this,” Hoshi muttered to herself.
-0-
 “No regrets?”
“No,” Hoshi told the man. “None.”
 “Good.”
-0-
 Hoshi wanted to groan loudly.
Not even two months into this new world, and she makes contact with the main character.
No, wait, she agreed to teach the main character.
She needed a drink.
Meeting Hibari hadn’t been a shock- she did work in his town, but there was a difference between staring blankly at him when he gave orders or ignoring him while she did landscaping at the school and interacting with Tsunayoshi! It had been challenging to remember the show, but she did remember the main character. Her interest in it had waned thanks to the lousy animation, and then her cancer was found, so she lost more interest.
Sighing, she fiddled with the doorknob on her apartment, making a face at how long it took to open. Making a mental note to go and see if the landlord would mind her messing with it, Hoshi entered her apartment. Checkerface had given her money to use in her new world, and she used it to buy her new home. She’d call it a studio in Canada- or a bachelor depending on who you’d ask. She forgot what her landlord called it.
Her kitchen was in a small corner, her bed on the opposite side. It was just a pile of pillows and blankets on top of a mattress. A dresser with an excellent sound system sat against a wall, with her TV and comfortable couch near it. It wasn’t much, but for Hoshi, it was enough as she worked and saved.
Feeling lazy, she flopped on her couch and turned on the TV to a hockey game, fiddling with the chain around her neck, her fingers ghosting the pacifier at the end.
She was going to need to think up some lessons.

NO YEAH Ichi being The Baby of the family was definitely a contributing factor in Arakawa mellowing out. It's one thing with Jo and the others being grown men when they joined, but Ichi's not only younger than even Arakawa was, but is of course also the exact same age as his son. I do think it's worth considering.
Especially with RGGO because RGGJo couldn't have been older than 18 or 19 when he joined, and that's if he and Ichi joined almost back-to-back. Y7Arakawa's got pretty solid reasons to turn Ichi away consistently for as long as he did, but I've always wondered what made RGGOArakawa do that when Jo is hardly any older.
Pure Speculation Here, but he's honest about not wanting Jo to kill people anymore (not that he listens because like Mine he has I Know Best disease) and being bothered by it, so perhaps if there is anything there, it could be partly about regretting who he's shaped Jo into being and not wanting to repeat those mistakes with Ichi. And with those themes of powerlessness being reinforced with regard to Y7Jo's violent tendencies, it is potentially interesting to examine when it comes to looking at Y7 in relation to RGGO <- hasn't connected shit
Speaking of, I was thinking that might be why Y7Arakawa doesn't have The Drip. Because the point of the decision to have RGGOArakawa and RGGJo both predominantly wear a neutral shade with an accent color and then have their palettes be complete opposites was, I think, to set them up directly as foils. Whereas of course with Y7Arakawa and Y7Jo, once you peel back a layer or two, they have that inverted coordination Thing going on and are perfectly harmonized. But this is why you using Jo's pink and purple is galaxy-brained lol we COULD'VE still had it
ALSO I probably should've explained it to begin with but 223 = 2 in katakana is pronounced tsu and the kanji for 3 can be read as mi :')
16 v 18 can be big for some people versus other people- like how 18 is technically an adult in most cases, so i can see that being a reason as to why RGGOarakawa would be more lenient towards jo versus ichi 😷
naw i think that a fair connection to make it dont seem like a hard one to believe anyway ♪(´▽`) i mean i dont imagine jo was AS brutal as he is nowadays versus when he first joined the family, and i want to believe arakawa mightve eventually noticed that shift at some point. again with ichi being so young (and being just about masatos age too) it's sort of like. How Do I Give This Kid A Decent Future With The Cards He Has yk what i mean
yeah that makes sense. in y7, we've already talked bout how jo is less of The antagonist and is more of a cog in the machine, so to speak: he more so contributes to the real antagonist as opposed to starting or doing anything by himself for his own personal motivations (tho ig his motivations are linked with masato but we get what i mean), so it makes sense for his and arakawa's wardrobes to contrast less (esp if they're supposed to be on the same team with relatively the same goal. in an awkward way).
i wont act like im super smart when it comes to drawing things- i REFUSE to lie and say i draw arakawa with the rggo drip for any reason aside from Its Fire As Hell BUT im glad we can still make the outfit still carry some meaning despite that LMAO (❁´◡`❁) at the very least i can say i genuinely did give him jo's purple and pink intentionally to connect them and for once not cause im lazy and didnt want to get new shades for himvjlajvl
