Ajang Pencarian Bibit Peselancar Indonesia "Rip Curl Gromsearch" Kembali Digelar

BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, DENPASAR - Dipersembahkan oleh Samudera Indonesia, Rip Curl GromSearch akan diselenggarakan selama tiga hari pada 10-12 November 2023 di Pantai Halfway Kuta, Bali, Kamis (9/11/2023). Tak hanya mempertandingkan para bibit berbakat penerus generasi surfing Indonesia, Rip Curl dan Samudera Indonesia berkomitmen untuk mengembangkan kemampuan surfing pemenang kompetisi dengan memberikan hadiah utama, yaitu: High Performance Coaching Camp oleh Surfing Australia. Rip Curl GromSearch pertama kali hadir di pantai Jan Juc Victoria Australia pada tahun 1999 sebagai kompetisi surfing satu hari yang kemudian berkembang menjadi serangkaian kompetisi di seluruh dunia yang dirancang khusus untuk peselancar berumur 16 tahun ke bawah, yang biasa disebut 'grommet'. Kompetisi tunggal nasional ini dibuat sebagai wadah yang menyenangkan bagi para grom untuk bersenang-senang dan bertemu peserta lain dari seluruh negeri, sambil mengembangkan permainan surfing mereka secara kompetitif. Untuk memenuhi syarat agar bisa ikut berkompetisi, peserta harus mencapai usia yang ditentukan per 31 Desember 2023. Seluruh divisi yang dikompetisikan memiliki batas kuota, dengan jumlah entri yang dialokasikan berdasarkan first in first serve dan memungkinkan peselancar dari seluruh negeri dapat bersaing dengan rekan sebaya mereka. Setelah batas registrasi ditutup awal pekan ini, tercatat sebanyak 140 anak yang telah mendaftar sebagai peserta Rip Curl GromSearch 2023 yang terbagi kedalam 3 divisi umur. Divisi Putra U-16, U-14, dan U12 serta Divisi Putri U-16, U-14, dan U-12. “Rip Curl Indonesia sangat bangga dapat mendukung generasi baru peselancar Indonesia dengan menyediakan wadah bagi mereka untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan menampilkan bakat mereka di Final GromSearch Nasional. Final GromSearch Nasional tahun ini dipersembahkan oleh Samudera Indonesia di Halfway Pantai Kuta, lebih besar dari sebelumnya, acara tiga hari yang menampilkan 140 peserta, acara tim tag boardriders, dan perjalanan yang didanai penuh bagi para pemenang Putri & Putra U16 ke High-Performance Centre di Australia. Kesempatan ini memberi mereka kesempatan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan mereka di salah satu fasilitas pelatihan selancar terbaik dunia,” kata Harrison Mann, Kepala Produk & Marketing Rip Curl Indonesia. O carioca de 27 anos de idade derrotou o experiente pernambucano Paulo Moura, que tem 42 anos. Desde o primeiro dia, a Cacimba do Padre teve altas ondas e grandes tubos. A competição chegou a ser suspensa na quarta-feira (1º) por excesso de ondulação. Organizadores e atletas comemoraram o campeonato Ana Clara Marinho/TV Globo O organizador do evento, Alfio Lagnado, comemorou a realização. “Quando o campeonato tem onda, fica tudo lindo, tudo certo e esse foi o melhor Hang Loose em Noronha de todos os tempos”. O criador do campeonato agradeceu todas as pessoas que colaboraram com a realização da etapa do mundial em Noronha, em especial ao presidente da Associação de Surfe da ilha, Marlos Amarantes, e ao jovem Thor Moreira, portador de síndrome de Down e que trabalha no evento na distribuição de malhas para os atletas. A administradora de Fernando de Noronha, Thallyta Figueirôa, garantiu apoio do governo de Pernambuco para próximas edições do evento na ilha. “Se depender do governo do estado, o evento está confirmado em 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027 e nós seguimos com o campeonato. É importante para o turismo de Noronha e deixa um legado. A ilha precisa de eventos e ações sustentáveis que provam que Fernando de Noronha pode chegar a patamares maiores do que já tem”, indicou a administradora. Brasil estreia com oito surfistas na etapa masculina de Margaret River

Tati Weston-Webb competiu no domingo (24) e tentará repescagem esta noite

  Oito surfistas brasileiros estrearam nesta segunda-feira (25) em Margaret River (Austrália), a quinta etapa do circuito mundial que marca a metade da temporada. Ao final da disputa haverá um corte: só 22 atletas (de um total de 35) prosseguirão nas demais cinco etapas deste ano, além de assegurarem presença na temporada 2023. Para o cálculo da nota de corte valerão os quatro melhores resultados, sendo descartado o pior.

Atual líder do ranking mundial, o paulista Filipe Toledo defende o título em Margaret River, assim como a gaúcha Tatiana Weston Webb, que estreou na noite de domingo (24), mas deixou escapar a classificação nos últimos 20 segundos da bateria 6.

Estão definidas as baterias do Round Eliminatório do feminino!

A brasileira, atual número 6 da temporada, totalizou 8,87 e vai tentar a repescagem a partir das 20h desta segunda (25). Weston-Webb foi superada pela havaiana Malia Manuel (13,60) e pela anfitriã Isabella Nichols (11,57) – ambas avançaram direto às oitavas de final. Também na disputa feminina haverá nota de corte: do total de 18 participantes, somente 10 seguirão em frente este ano e também estarão garantidas na disputa de 2023.
