Good news buried in an embarrassingly contextless article (corrections in italics lmao):

“Dozens of buses left the Toronto area early Monday destined for a national rally on Parliament Hill to show support for Israel in its war with Hamas massacre of over 15,000 civilians with thousands more missing and denounce a wave of both antisemitism and widespread critique of war crimes by the far-right Israeli government in Canada.

But some of the would-be participants were sidelined when 17 buses failed to show up to take people to Ottawa, according to a statement from the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto.”

Wow ok where do I start with my ramble uh...so idk if this will make any sense but I consider my fanarts to be little love letters to whatever series I enjoy to show my appreciation. And this illustration is a bigger love letter than usual. I absolutely adore cotc with all my heart and i wanted to take the original illustration this was based off of and do a fun little twist to it. Not as good as the og illustration but I had fun with it none the less.

The og illustration had the characters looking forward, as a way to introduce you into the world of cotc but I figured if this was 4 years later, we would already know them well enough that I could be looser with the rules and have them interact with each other instead. I changed some people around as new characters were introduced that I thought would be fun to add in.

So um yea lol, thanks for enjoying my fanarts and stuff that I've been drawing and thanks to the cotc crew for creating this show that is near and dear to my heart. Can't wait to see more!❤️

thinking about nandor a lot lately. i wonder if he’s so in denial about his feelings and trying to hide them bc he never felt them this intensely. we see he has a few unhealthy romantic relationships throughout the series. he changes his own personality or that of marwas so they can stay together. he also seems to not really care about his romantic relationships from when he was a human, he can’t even remember his favorite wife. but guillermo is always there for him, he feels lost and unbalanced when he’s without him. we see this in Local News but also at the start of season 4 where he figures he must find a replacement for the role that Guillermo has been holding for so long. In episode 1 of season 1 we learn that nandor wants some space from guillermo but every time guillermo gives him that space he immediately wants him back. I still find it odd how much Nandor represses these emotions. Is it because they are unfamiliar? Is it because he really doesn’t want to curse Guillermo with vampirism? Why is he so afraid to just act on his feelings? We know he has no issue getting it on so why is Guillermo so special.

The most recent episode told us that nandor has always had an interest in guillermo. He remembers the thank you card Guillermo gave him when Nandor first hired him. Guillermo must have meant a lot more then Nandors other familiars. Something supporting Nandor not wanting to admit his feelings to protect Guillermo, is that Nandor turned his old familiar Benjy into a vampire. Nandor wanted to get rid of Benjy and he didn’t care about him. Nandor cares about Guillermo and doesn’t want to lose him. Nandor believes Guillermo only sticks around because he wants to be a vampire. If only Nandor knew how much Guillermo loves him…

Since today is Women's Day, I want to take a second to talk about a personal accomplishment. I've been writing as an intern for an entertainment news source for the last few months, and it's been incredibly rewarding. I have been given the opportunity to write about things I love, and they're published with credit. I didn't intend to pursue a career in entertainment writing, but I've fallen in love with it and want to continue on this path once my internship ends.

I've been able to write about a lot of women I admire, and some of them have even acknowledged my work. I love being able to support women, and it feels great when they support me back. I'm so happy about this internship, and I'm so grateful to the women that have taken the time to acknowledge and appreciate my writing. It's really cool seeing artists repost my articles, and also I'm extremely grateful for the women in my life who have shared my enthusiasm for this endeavor.

trying to distract myself from the very real fears i have about vol 2 by thinking about a ronance veronica mars au. 

the story always starts the same. barb dies at the first blush of sixteen and nancy’s life shutters to stop. it’s senior year now, and around her everyone is making plans for their future, but nancy is stuck living in the past, haunted by the ghost of her dead best friend that everyone is too happy to have forgotten about.

then we have hopper, a washed up police chief with a drinking problem who barb’s parents hire as private investigator. nancy would, of course, con her way into being his assistant for access to barb’s investigation. (plus i love the idea of innocent, suburban good girl nancy wheeler sneaking out of her house at night and going around hawkins terrorizing people while hopper just sighs tiredly in the background)

but peace in hawkins only lasts so long, even without supernatural disturbances, and teens start dying again.

when eddie munson is named as suspect #1, nancy doesn’t think much of it. there’s little to connect chrissy cunningham and barbara holland’s deaths. but when her brother comes to her with his big pleading eyes and claims eddie’s innocent, c’mon nance, don’t you believe me? she finds that she does. and of course it makes sense her brother and her friends are mixed up with eddie munson. she’s more surprised to see her ex and his weird friend getting involved.

and while this nancy is really more of a solo act, steve and mike get all wide-eyed and worried and there’s someone out there offing high school girls, you really shouldn’t be wondering around on your own and that’s how nancy gets stuck with robin buckley, certified disaster who never stops talking and insults everyone without prejudice, who keeps looking at nancy like she’s waiting for nancy to laugh at her terrible jokes and it feels a little too close to how barb used to look at her and -

she was my friend, too, y’know robin tells nancy, one day, soft like the confession cost something, and nancy didn’t know that, or didn’t want to remember that. you weren’t the only one who lost someone.

(nancy is starting to suspect she lost more than just barb that day.)

and in between the casual breaking and entering and some light larceny, robin starts to take the shape of a friend. or something friend-like. robin does things like remembers how nancy likes her coffee, and shows up unannounced to hang around hopper’s while nancy works and never feels like the distraction she is. it makes nancy’s chest sharp.

and then fred benson’s body is dumped at nancy’s front door.

it’s as clear a warning as any, but all it does is piss nancy off. this bastard has stolen so much from her already. she’s going to be the one to put a bullet between his eyes.

and robin is right there, unusually calm in the face of nancy’s thunder. robin’s hand is a little sweaty and bigger than nancy’s, but she slots her fingers between nancy’s like she has the right to and swears she’s with nancy, whatever happens. it’s the sort of vow begging to be broken, but nancy is tired of being so alone.

the first time nancy kisses robin, they’re both soaked with terror, trembling from the relief of a near miss. she does it so she can blame it on the rush of adrenaline, but she’s never as good at lying to herself as she is to everyone else, and she’s been thinking about using her mouth to shut robin up for weeks now.

their only real connection is a misplaced loyalty to a dead girl. and there’s still a killer out there, painting a bloody target over nancy’s life. she isn’t even sure if she remembers how to be a part of the living anymore. but robin kisses her back like tomorrow is promised and nancy thinks it may be worth it to try again.

kof self insert that keeps sneaking into the king of fighters tournament even though she doesn't have an invite to it, and nor does she 'really' have two companions to join her to make a team in order to be legible to enter the tournament. I mean she technically does have people she knows that could join up with her and make a team, but these people are already on different teams to begin with (mai, benimaru, kyo, yuri, terry, to name a few.)

so, she just tries to enter the tournament as a lone participant but it doesn't work... at least for a while, and by the time she's sneaking in, organizers just... kinda give up because to them it's 'not really' a 'big deal', although she does *finally* get her shot of being part of the tournament officially when the maximum impact series rolls around, as it has 1v1 fighting match rules, which works for her. after this, she actually starts getting invited yo go to the actual tournaments officially each year.

lmao, as a surprise for my roommate and ex i stayed up all night and cleaned all the common areas so they could focus instead on finishing packing and cleaning their rooms.

and my ex was pissed at me when they arrived and the rest of the time they were there and i didn't know why

#I was given the opportunity to edit for one of my very lovely friends #after getting my bachelor's degree my dream job is to become a novel editor #beyond my own pieces of writing and the fact that I seem to find errors in most the novels I read I don't get many opportunities to edit #like everything is mine or just something no one actually asked for my input on #so to be able to look at a real piece of writing today and get to be nitpicky about it felt so good #it also helps that the writing was of great quality #back in high school I was constantly offering to edit people's essays and damn did that writing suck lol #it was so fun for me to fix though #today I really didn't fix anything. it was already great! Well hello again!

So this is a line from the song You Shine from the Carrie musical 😅 I'm not super familiar with the musical as a whole but this song is consistently on my most-listened songs because 1. It's just so incredibly sweet and 2. Derek Klena and Christy Altomare's voice pair so well (see also: the 2017 Anastasia OBC recording...but now I'm getting sidetracked).

I've poked around at a concept to this a few times, and I think I've decided it'd be a post-Hogwarts canon-divergent oneshot, but that's where the thoughts end. I haven't decided if this would be a stand-alone or maybe a microfic. I highly recommend listening to the song for just heart-meltingly sweet Jily vibes.
