What was it like being in the audience at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012 when Heart performed Stairway to Heaven? I remember Lou Marini who played with you was also playing with them on stage
As magical and chilling as it is on video... think of that, times ten.
Stairway to Heaven Led Zeppelin - Kennedy Center Honors
In my opinion, this is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest tribute I've ever seen to a band, very moving. Every time I witness this, it brings tears to my eyes. The overwhelming honor of being recognized by top musicians as one of the greatest rock and roll bands, performing arguably the best rock and roll song ever, is simply awe-inspiring. To be in that moment, realizing that your impact and music will endure beyond your own lifetime, evokes a mix of profound sadness and triumphant joy.
Just in case those unfamiliar with Led Zeppelin are unaware, their Drummer sadly passed away some time ago, his son is playing the drums here. His signature hat was a bowler hat, thus the bowler hats in the choir. Very very classy tribute.

I’m watching the 46th annual Kennedy Center honors and they are honoring Dionne Warwick, and Cynthia Erivo is beautifully singing “Alfie“ but as beautiful as her voice is, I can’t listen to this song and not think of Santana singing it season six, and not tear up and think how unfair it is Naya is not here.
hozier: It was an honour to take part in honouring @U2 at The Kennedy Centre, and to join the stage with @Brandi Carlile and @jamalajaaa in singing a special rendition of 'Walk On', written for the situation Jamala's country is facing.
You can watch the #KCHonors tonight at 8/7c on @cbstv
