Kesha - Blow 2011
The song was written by Kesha, along with Klas Åhlund and the producers, Dr. Luke, Kool Kojak, Benny Blanco, and Max Martin (the man famous for making Britney Spears' and Backstreet Boys' early songs). It was supposed to be a song for Britney, but her team rejected it. According to Kesha the line "We’re taking over" is representative of herself and her fans. "Blow" is described as a party anthem as it portrays a simple message of having a desire to have a good time at a club. It reached the top ten in USA, Australia and New Zealand. The music video features actor James Van Der Beek, from the 90's tv-series Dawson's Creek. "Blow" received a total of 77% yes votes!

2011: Sorry for Party Rocking
Song of the year: “Party Rock Anthem” LMFAO. The plot of the music video is that people become zombies who can’t do anything but dance to this song. The plot of this week’s chart is that I had a hard time listening through the chart because I only wanted to replay this song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ6zr6kCPj8
Amy and I once fell asleep on the Train des Pignes and woke up at the end of the line in Dignes-les-Bains, where we were kicked off the train and wandered into town. We passed a group of grumpy men playing pétanque and went into a tiny grocery store to get ice cream. This song was playing, a perfect thematic element for the random, dreamlike experience.
A close runner-up is LMFAO’s follow-up hit, “Sexy and I Know It.” I just think they’re so cool. It doesn’t make sense.
“Blow” Kesha. This is literally my favorite Kesha song.
“Super Bass” Nicki Minaj. I like this song a great deal. I associate it with running the 10-mile loop around the Back Bay in Newport, since it’s on my running playlist. I was sad this week when the version on the Billboard playlist obscures the audio when she names the product that her gentleman friend is selling. (It’s coke.)
Me: Is Nicki Minaj the one whose cousin’s friend? With the swollen balls?
Amy: *rolls eyes* yessssssss.
“Give Me Everything” Pitbull, Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer. I have thoughts about Pitbull, that Charlie-Brown-looking mfer. I don’t like looking at him, but something about his music is, maybe not good, but definitely compelling. I’ve had this in my head all week. ¡Dale!
I’ve noticed my tendency as a white person to post videos of white people parodying the music of non-white people, but maybe as a white Cuban person (I googled the term for this, but now I don’t feel like it’s appropriate for me to use) Nick Kroll’s Señor Feeture isn’t off limits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9fYaJs7B7o
“Six Foot Seven Foot” Lil Wayne, Cory Gunz. This song is for riding the spin bikes in our apartment gym, back when our apartment gym was not crawling with Covid. I like Lil Wayne, because he’s not afraid to use a truly obnoxious sample.
I swore I’d never heard an Adele song other than “Skyfall”, but it turns out that I had heard “Rolling in the Deep,” I’d just never recognized it as an Adele song. Clearly she has a great voice. I want to hear nothing about her weight, ever.
“The Show Goes on” Lupe Fiasco. My brain will not hold onto this song. I keep seeing it and having no memory of what it is, even though it uses a sample/idea from “Float On” by Modest Mouse.
“Black and Yellow” Wiz Khalifa. I don’t often mention that I change the lyrics to songs to sing them to the cats, not because it’s embarrassing, but because I assume everyone does and I’m not special. Anyway: brown and orange brown and orange brown and orange brown and orange
“The Edge of Glory” Lady Gaga. This song is really growing on me, especially the truly weird Philip Glass vocal intro. In addition, I like Lady Gaga’s motorsona on the cover of this album. It makes me think of the cover of a Chuck Tingle novel, which makes me happy. Pounded in the Butt by the Idea of Lady Gaga as a Sentient Motorcycle Who Doesn’t Have Hands, and Somehow Her Not Having Hands is Very Important, but It’s More Like Thinking about Myself Not Having Hands and Now I’ve Said Too Much for Facebook.
Country music barometer for 2011: 16%?! What in the Actual Fuck is happening to society? Were the ancient Mayans right?

Did I ever tell y’all about the time back in 2011 when my mom didn’t like the Kesha song “Blow” because she misheard the line “go insane throw some glitter make in rain, let me see them hands”. She thought “hands” was “Hanes” as in the underwear brand and therefore thought that Kesha was asking people to get naked and that it was vulgar because it was too explicit. Once I told her it was “hands” she let herself enjoy the song

O carisma dela manteve o entusiasmo do público. A artista também interpretou a versão em inglês do hit “I’ll Back Off So You Can Live Better” e covers de “Take A Bow” e “Rude Boy”, da Rihanna.

Have I ever told you...? [#3]
Have I ever told you when I met my bae?
Let's focus: we are on 2011's summer, July. I was 18 yo.
Tumblr media
Chiwiki's Pantano, aka "paradise".
I'd just split with my boyfriend Mike, in May. I really liked him, like, a friend. He was smart and funny, but nothing more, so I said to him that we should be friends. I think that we talked like 8 times that year, and byebye. Anyways.
I went to the Pantano in July, I think that the first weekend of July. You know, my father, Courtney, that sissy boy, Bruno, babyDamien and me. In a car, I don't understand how. We arrived to my favourite place in the world, my Pantano house. We entered our rooms (I used to share mine with B) and turned on our pc. Bruno was like 13 yo, he was into videogames and books, I remember that he brought an entire bag full of books, mistery books, crafts books... That morning, we played videogames on our pc and after have lunch, we started to set our pool and filled it. Then, we went for a ride. We walked by the woods and laughed hard. That afternoon, his friends arrived and I freed him, I went to the dam and I looked at the water while I smoke joints, alone. That night, I came back home and I lied with my brother.
Next week (we spent the first week swimming in our pool, nothing happened), my father said to me that he has to go with Courtney a few days out. My mind exploded with one word: "PARTY". So the same night, I started organizing everything. I remember that I made posters and I gave them to everyone. So, the party was pinned on July 9th, I believe it was saturday.
EVERYONE came, people from Chiwiki, from Spain, from everywhere. My house was about to blow.
*Hey Google, play “Blow" by Kesha*
Imagine, like 100 people dancing, doing drugs and alcohol in my familiar house, it was pretty awesome. I remember seeing people that I didn't talked with in my fucking entire life, people that I didn't even met. By that moment, I was dancing with Gwen, that arrived that afternoon, and we filled with weed, coke, vodka, jägger and a few pills.
And by the people, there she was. Talking to a friend (now I know that he was Kion), with a cup in her hand and a joint in the other. The first I thought when I saw her was "Who the fuck is that and why haven't I met her before?". I tried to call her attention in a thousand ways, I needed to know her. It didn't work, so I walked up to her and bumped into her and said "oh, sorry, hi". She answered "hi" while she laughed. I said her my name and she said hers to me, I asked "what?" bc I didn't understood it, and she repeated it to me. I repeated it for her and she said "yeah!". I spilled her cup, so I asked her what was she drinking and she said "jägger with lemon", so I brought to her another cup. I remember that she made a sign to Kion and he left, dancing like a clown. We talked, flirted and ended kissing in my pool. At 6 A.M, people started to leave and she told me that we should talk the next day, so I asked for her number and I remember I was literally shaking. She gave me her number and she left, after kissing me one last time.
Next day, I almost die trying to catch some service on my phone and when I could, I sent her a message that said: “Hey, I’m Joan. I hope you remember about me”. She answered fast: “how could I forget about you, despise the hungover xd”. I spent the next 2 days looking for her between the houses, by watching out everyone that stayed there, but I didn’t found her. So the 3rd day after, I sent her another text: “I cannot wait to see you again and kiss you. On the dam in 10 min? XO, Joan” and I went to the dam, quickly. I remember dress myself with a weed bikini and a top, and the first short-jeans I found. I remember too that Courtney asked me where I was going, and I remember that I said “you don’t care” and I left the house running
I was listening to “L’amour tousjours” in the moment I saw her coming to me, with a videocamera recording at herself and a guitar hanging on her back.
*Hey Google, play “L’amour tousjours" by Gigi D’Agostino*
I think that in that moment, watching her walking to me, laughing and explaining things to that camera, i fell in love with her. I only wanted to be with her all the time, listening to her, to her words and her laugh, ask for her life and knowing everything about her. I wanted to make her laugh, I wanted to hug her, to fuck her, to kiss her, to lie with her. Share everything in my life with her. Hearing how she played that guitar, show her how I played mine, asking her why was she recording herself… everything.
She arrived and smiled at me saying “hey”. I wave at her and asked her what the hell was she doing. She told me that she had a Youtube channel where she uploaded everything she did in her life, like in a videoblog or “vlog”, how she called it. Then, I asked if she played the guitar, and she said yes, and that she used to write some songs too. I ask her if she could show me some. We went to a more private place near the dam and she played a song that she was writing at that time, “Walk of Shame”. I died inside with her voice, so natural, so beautiful. Then, she said to me “do you play the guitar” and I said yes, I don’t know why, bc after that, I panicked. She offered me her guitar and I said no, but she insisted, so I played “I love Rock ’n Roll” by Joan Jett. Like 1 minute. Then I returned her guitar laughing and hiding my red face with my hair. After that, we went down, to the swamp shore and we sat there, watching at the water and talking about our lives. Then, we kissed again and made out for a while. Then, Gwen arrived with her “summer boyfriend” (?), I don’t know. But they brought some alcohol and weed, so we drank and smoke by there, and I couldn’t stop staring at her. I didn’t wanted to accept it, but I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with her.
We hanged out the next days, we made love in my parents bedroom the same day they arrived, (phew.). We started dating officially on July 17th and we spent 2 months of relationship together on Pantano, happy and with a smile in my face 24/7. I know one video on particular on her youtube channel that I remember like if it was recorded yesterday.
But September came. Our relationship lasted 5 months, ‘till November.
Anyways, I'm not going to tell that shit, that’s the story about how I met my bae.

Song Stuck In My Head: i have an odd mix of songs stuck in my head and they’re all playing in my head at once and it’s giving me anxiety
Last Movie I Watched: uuumm i watched some early 2000s Denzel Washington movie with my parents a couple weeks ago? it was good he like was a cop suspected of killing his girlfriend and he’s trying to solve who really did it while staying one step ahead of his estranged wife who works in the FBI and is starting to get suspicious of him
When Did I Create My Blog: like junior year of high school at some point, so around 2011 or 2012. jesus i’m old.

Do I Have Any Other Blogs: nope. i used to have a blog with some HP fanfic, but i only posted like one chapter and then i stopped bc like 0.0 people actually cared to read a fluffy fic about McGonagall and Trelawney...so yeah..hit me up if you would actually read that. maybe i’ll bring it back by popular demand, or something
Do I Get Asks: not really. every once in a blue moon, i’ll get one. but i get so excited that someone asked me a thing that i think i must scare them off
Why I Chose My Url: Winky is an underrated character, first of all. But also, I started thinking a lot more about Winky like a year or so ago because I have a history of drinking too much, and I wanted to try and quit. Plus I got a car, and I knew I’d have to be careful not to drink and drive, and I was really nervous that I would break that resolve and drive under the influence, so I named my car Winky first because like duh HP references are great, but also because I wanted to be reminded every time I saw my car that to drive, I had to be sober. So from there, I thought well maybe I should make Winky my URL, because I spend so much time on this shit website, it might be a good general reminder not to drink too heavily. And yeah it’s worked out pretty well. I’ll have a glass of wine here and there, but I have not gotten drunk/exceeded my therapist-imposed 2 drink limit since I believe June? So like 6ish months. Sorry that was a SUPER long answer but yeah. That’s the story on that.
Following: 606 (60 more and the devil laughs :p )
Followers: 445 (but let’s be real, half of them are porn bots or deserted blogs that haven’t been active in like years)
Average Hours of Sleep: ugh i’m shit about sleeping regular hours so i don’t even know. but if left to it, no alarm, no other factors, my body usually just goes for 9 hours
Lucky Number: 20? I dunno, i wouldn’t say it’s “lucky” but like when i’m exaggerating or estimating I go for 20 or 20 million or something like that
Instruments: I took piano lessons from age 7 to 15, and I played trumpet from 10-14. I’m not very musically gifted, hence nothing in the last 8 years...
What I’m Wearing: fleece leggings, a fall out boy sweatshirt, and big fluffy socks (it’s literally zero degrees here and my heater is blowing cold air. honestly about to put a coat on inside...)
Dream Job: High school social worker
Dream Trip: listen. i know i’m weird but. i don’t like to travel. show me pics from your vacation, i love that, but i’m a homebody. maybe i’d stay in a log cabin, alone, in the middle of a forest, but honestly that’s more like my dream lifestyle rather than like where i’d want to go on vacation
Favorite Foods: all the dessert stuff, and the breakfast foods that are really just dessert for the morning like chocolate chip pancakes and cinnamon rolls and waffles, but then also anything involving bread + cheese, so like grilled cheese, mac n cheese, broccoli cheddar soup with bread, pizza, all that good stuff
Nationality: American
Favorite Song: ohhh god. Um, a lot but my go-to answers for this question are usually Secrets by Mary Lambert, Fire and Rain by James Taylor, and People by AJJ
I’m tagging: @doitforgranger @rainbowsaw @cyanide-smoothie @heart @libertysir @looneybeth  and anyone else who wants to! also please don’t feel you have to do this, i know not everyone enjoys these as much as me

2. Dawson Leery
3. Pacey Witter
Joshua Jackson, quien dio vida a este personaje, eligió los proyectos televisivos The safety of objects y The Laramie project, ambos de HBO. En cine actuó en Cruel Intention y Ocean’s eleven. Posteriormente, participó en I love your work y The pay-back allstar revue.
My Week with Marilyn, respectivamente. También actuó en Oz the Great and Powerful (2013) y Suite française (2014).
