Notes: Alone during Halloween night (Sumhain), you notice two eyes watching you in the darkness of the lake.
Warnings: Kíli x fem!reader; Triton!Kíli; Reader has hair; Reader at the bottom of the sea; SFW.

The lights of the small house still shone behind you as you walked away, you could still hear the excited conversations coming from inside. It was Samhain night, your favorite night of the year, and you had just argued with your parents, to the point where you were so stressed that you chose to get up from the table and leave the house, slamming the door behind you. Hot tears clouded your vision but you refused to let them fall.
As you always did, you went to the large lake near your house. Something about dipping your feet in the cold water and playing with the smooth rocks you found on the shore while watching the light reflecting off the water calmed you. Distracted and a little calmer, but still upset, you picked up a rock and threw it at the water, it bounced twice before sinking. When you lowered your head to look for another stone you heard a sound in the water that made you alert, when you got up and looked around you didn't find anything at first, but when you looked more closely over the water you were surprised to find another pair of eyes, staring at you, shining in the dark of the night.
- Who are you?! - pressed the stone tighter against your hand, threatening to throw it, taking a step back.
The creature with bright eyes and wet brown hair that stuck to its face approached slowly, you didn't hesitate, little by little the being emerged from the water, it was a man, with long brown hair that outlined his jaw, a sparse beard and penetrating brown eyes, there were fins where his ears should have been, some scales on his shoulders. That glow in his eyes... You knew perfectly well what he was: a triton. You had never seen one so close up, only in books. As the man came out of the water, you reproached yourself as ran your eyes down his naked torso.
- What is a human doing alone on the night of Samhain? - all you could pay attention to was how his smile had sharper teeth than usual.
- You still haven't answered me: who are you!
- I'm Kíli, sorry I didn't introduce myself before, I've seen you here a few times, but never as angry as today.
Analyzing the man, you lowered your arm, but still holding the stone.
- If you had already seen me, why never came to talk to me?
- Well, there aren't many of my kind left, I had my reasons to be scared - he approached and sat down on the edge of the lake.
You had already heard many legends about merpeople, legends that told of their powers of manipulation to enchant people, to attract them and take them to the bottom of the sea. And yet you approached him, his eyes attracting you more and more.
- I see... I've never seen a triton so close up before - revealed and sat down in front of him.
- And I've never seen a human up close - he smiled.
- Can I? - you asked shyly as you raised your hand and approached his face, without touching him.
Kíli nodded yes, carefully you brought your hand closer to the fin. Was cold, his skin was thin and delicate, extremely smooth like silk, still damp. Your hand came down closer to his face, there were some scales on the side of his face, his eyes were the darkest you had ever seen, very carefully you ran your fingertips over the gills on the side of his neck, sending goosebumps all over his body. When you looked down you could see his tail, it was a shiny emerald green, the scales started just below his hip.
- Can I? - His sudden voice snapped you out of your fascination.
- What?
- Can I see you too? - he asked, extending his hand just like you did.
When you said yes, Kíli brought his hand closer to your ear, carefully running his fingers over it, curious. He felt your face and hair, admiring each new and different texture. Kíli held your hands and brought them close to his eyes, there was no thin and transparent membrane between your fingers like his, your hands were smaller and soft, when he looked up and met your eyes he became shy and let go of your hands.
- Yeah... As I thought - he said, crossing his arms.
- What? - slightly furrowed your eyebrows.
- You are beautiful - he smiled.
You automatically looked away from him and couldn't control a smile, deep down you knew exactly what that was, he was trying to seduce you, every merpeople did that, it was so obvious, but so addictive. You didn't want him to stop.
- Yes, you are exactly as the books say... - he opened his eyes wider, anxious - ... Charming - he smiled more cheerfully than before.
- You still haven't answered me why you're out here alone.
- I fought with my parents... I preferred to leave home and since I had nowhere to go...
- I understand... - he was silent for a while, analyzing the situation - ... Would you like to spend Samhain with me?
You couldn't hide how surprised you were by the proposal, eyebrows raised and eyes wide, the words getting jumbled on your tongue before you could say anything back.
- With you? Here?
- No - he laughed at your innocence - Not here, at my house, I can take you there and we'll be back at dawn.
- How? The merpeople's houses are underwater, aren't they? I have to remind you that I can't breathe underwater - you both laughed.
-Yes, I know that, dear, but I can make you breathe underwater... With a kiss - the surprised look returned to your face - if you want, of course.
Analyzing the situation, you studied every possible risk, remembering how you had never experienced any adventure, remembering your father's screams at you, the anger you felt...
- Okay, - you decided.
Tumblr media
Slowly, Kíli approached, giving you time to give up, but you had already made up your mind. His lips were soft and rested gently against yours, his hands bringing you closer. The kiss was delicate, his mouth was hot, giving you goosebumps with the growing desire, his arms wrapped around you and you let yourself be carried away. Opening your eyes as your lips parted, you realized you were now underwater. Scared, you held your breath, afraid of drowning, you looked up and realized you were very far from the surface. You felt a warm hand wrap around yours, it was Kíli, with a smile he took your other hand away from your mouth and nose and said that you could breathe without fear and in fact you managed to your surprise.
Still holding your hand he took you deeper into the water, fish of the most varied types passed around you, a cloud of bubbles dancing as the school followed its path, sea flowers that you had never seen before opened up to you, it was like you were in a dream, and honestly, you didn't want to wake up.

Alpha, Please
Tumblr media
Pairing: alpha!Bucky x omega!reader
Summary: Your alpha's been busy and it's left you without his attention and affection. Tired of waiting for him to please you, you decide to tempt him into giving you exactly what you're needy for.
Warnings: A/B/O, alpha/omega, smut, reader teasing Bucky
Word Count: 621
I hope you enjoy my one, and hopefully not only, drabble contribution to Kinktober. Divider courtesy of @firefly-graphics. Make sure to check them out!

Two words were all you needed to get exactly what you wanted.
Your alpha had been busy lately and you were feeling needy.  With it being fall, you decided to don an outfit that fit the season and would entice your Bucky to see to your needs.  You were reaching up to grab a box of tea out of the upper cabinet when you heard him groan.
"'Mega," he whined, "why would you wear that.  You know what those do to me."
You looked down at your clothes.  A forest green knitted sweater that, with your arms stretched up, just barely covered your ass.  Keeping your legs warm was a pair of sheer black thigh high socks that hugged every leg muscle that was flexed to keep you standing on your tip toes.
You knew you were a temptation, and you were shameless to show it off.
Feigning innocence, you replied, "I'm just dressed for a comfy day around the apartment.  I was about to brew a cup of tea and read a book."  While this was true, your intention wasn't to enjoy reading.  You had every plan of putting yourself in a tempting position.  Fortunately, he found you in here instead.
Bucky came over and molded himself to your body, running his hands up your thighs, pulling your sweater up and feeling a lack of fabric on the side of your hips.  His groan was lower and longer as he dropped his head to the crook of your neck.  "Did you forget your panties when you got dressed?"
"Maybe," you said coyly.
Once, twice, Bucky rubbed against you, letting his hardness rub between your cheeks.  You moaned, slick building between your thighs already before you voiced the magic words.
"Alpha, please."
Two moaned words suddenly, you were resting on the edge of the countertop.  Before you could gather yourself, he thrusted fully inside you in one go.  Your head flew back to rest against the cabinet you'd just had open as you cried out in pleasure.
"I missed this, 'mega," Bucky moaned.  "Missed feeling how tight you are around me."
Whimpers escaped your throat as you tried to squirm in his arms.  "Move, please.  I need you," you pleaded.  You'd been dying for this and he wasn't budging.  You needed him to fuck you.
And your alpha was nothing but giving.  He pulled almost completely out before thrusting roughly back in.  He repeated the motion, mercilessly driving in and out of you.  "S'good," Bucky said, his voice all gravel.  "Squeezin' me s'good."  You knew when he started to slur his words together, he was just as lost in the pleasure as you found yourself.  You couldn't even find words, only whines, moans, and cries.
You clawed at his back as you tried to pull him closer, wanting to cling onto him as you felt the pleasure rise higher and higher.  You were so close, and Bucky knew it too.  He groaned as your walls started to squeeze him even harder.  "Gon' knot you s'good," he panted.  "Gimme all that slick, lemme knot ya.  Gon' keep ya comin' on it."
Bucky's words had you both on edge.  Suddenly, he thrusted in as you felt his knot inflate and lock your bodies together.  Feeling it against every sensitive spot had you screaming as you finally fell into an abyss of pleasure.  You barely registered your alpha's low, drawn out moan as you felt streams of his orgasm filling you.
It took several moments before your body collapsed, sated against Bucky's.  He chuckled as he carefully lifted you without pulling you off of him.  "Rest while you can Omega," he whispered in your ear as he carried you to your nest.  "I'm gonna have you locked on me the rest of the night."

Kili Durin x Human!Soulmate!reader

Tumblr media
Thorin was getting worried, Kili had become somewhat of a ghost story over the past month. He had assumed that his nephew was simply doing his duty. Kili had volunteered to be the envoy between Dale and Erebor for the discussions of armament and training. However, that treaty was signed a week ago, and said envoy position was no longer needed. So why in all of Arda was Kili still going to Dale every day? The young prince left as soon as he was finished with his daily tasks and didn’t return to the mountain until well after the sun had set. Thorin was not worried for his nephew's safety, after all, Kili was an excellent warrior and could take care of himself, no, Thorin was worried for Kili’s heart.
Fili had also noticed his brother’s absence but the blonde prince had always been a bit more perceptive than his surly uncle. Fili had noticed that Kili was missing, but he also noticed that every time he returned to the mountain it was with the most dopey grin that he had ever seen. A grin that he recognized, for it had also graced his face a few months ago when he met his beloved Alma. Fili would bet his beard on it, Kili was in love.
You on the other hand were getting more and more annoyed each time the brown-haired dwarf walked through the front door. He was charming sure, and polite. But he stared. At you. The whole time he was there. And he was there a lot. His attempts to engage you in conversation were far and few between, the few times he was able to grab your attention away from the bustling building he became tongue-tied the moment your eyes landed on his.
Kili didn’t understand why he couldn’t say more than a few words to you without choking on his words. Your eyes had to hold some kind of spell within them. They enchanted him and left him bewitched every time he caught their gaze. It left him frustrated, he had never had this much trouble with women before, why were you so different? Deep down he knew though, you weren’t just any woman. He was afraid though, afraid that naming what you were to him out loud would make it real. And when it is real, it can hurt you.
There weren’t very many stories on One’s where the love didn’t end up requited, either because it just simply never happened. Dwarves were incredibly stubborn creatures after all, and it was entirely possible that they just wore down their other half until some sort of connection formed. It was also possible that those unfortunate few who weren’t able to woo their other half died of broken hearts. The former was unlikely as Kili kept having to remind himself, he couldn’t die of a broken heart. Right?
He was determined tonight though, to find out definitively if the sparks he felt for you were just interest in the handsome woman from Bree, or if you truly were the other half of his soul. To do that though he would need to say more than a few words to you. The problem with that was that you seemed exceptionally busy tonight.
Busy you were, Brant had told you last night that he was going to be leaving today to go to visit family for some type of emergency.
“If the place is still standing when I get back, we’ll talk more about it becoming yours someday.” He had said. You were hoping that that ‘someday’ was sooner rather than later. Brant was getting up there in years. Just last week he had hurt himself trying to lift one of the barrels of ale that had been shipped in from the Iron Hills. You had been taking on more and more of his old tasks and to be completely honest, it felt like you did the job of an owner anyway, just without all the benefits.
You weren’t going to let the man down though, even if it did mean rushing back and forth all night trying to keep up with demand all by yourself.
“Another! Y/N,” was yelled in front the back of the room. Roland was a boisterous man who got along with everyone, he was only a year or two older than you and was currently on his eighth pint of the night. He had a large countenance and seemed to fill up whatever space he occupied, he was handsome but the more and more he drank the less his looks mattered. Usually, this is the point in the night where he starts bordering more on unruly rather than fun-loving. Nevertheless, he was a paying customer and as long as he could still walk on his own out the doors, you weren’t going to say no to his money.
You grabbed another pint glass and poured one for him, balancing it and several other drinks on a tray. You steeled yourself with a deep breath before running back out into the fray.
Walking close to the stool he was sat on you leaned slightly over him and placed his pint down on the counter beside him. He was engrossed in the conversation between the large group of men, something about the best way to skin a buck, you weren’t really listening. As you grabbed his empty glass to take back to the kitchen to be washed, his large hand encircled your wrist none too gently.
“A pint is a wonderful thing, but it is even more delicious when served by a beautiful lady,” He whispered into your ear. You grit your teeth and roughly pull your hand back.
“Now, Roland, what have we said about touching things that don’t belong to you? Huh? Touch the wrong thing and you might just lose your hand.” You spit back at him. Cutting your eyes up at the mounted swords that rest above the fireplace only a few steps from where the two of you are. “I’d hate to have to clean those swords, they are sharp.” You look back into his eyes, satisfied with the fear that you see within them. You stand back up and place your tray back upon your shoulder.
“Anything else I can get you gents?” You question the other men scattered about the space. Silence reigned over the air for a few moments.
“Alrighty then.”
A pint here, a glass of wine there, and two hot meals delivered later, your tray was empty and everyone in the place seemed momentarily satisfied.
 Letting out a breath you lean up against the counter.
“What did you say to him?” A somewhat familiar voice pipes up beside you. You turn your head towards the voice. It's the dwarf prince, and you are once again struck with just how handsome he is. You are also struck with the familiar feeling of annoyance, of course, he picked now to talk to you. Just when you had finally afforded yourself a break.
“Hmm?” You raise a singular eyebrow at him. “Who?”
“That large and very drunk man in the back, I couldn’t hear what you said but I could see the look on his face. It was similar to my brother’s when our mother would scold him for forgetting his manners.”
“That’s not too far off actually, Roland over there got a little too comfortable and touched something that didn’t belong to him, I had to remind him of the rules.”
“And what exactly did he touch that was so forbidden?” The prince smirks and laughs.
You smirk back and lift a glass to your lips before uttering one single word, “Me.”
All of the laughter drained from Kili’s face, “He touched you?” His voice had gotten much lower, his eyes darkened right before you.
 You rolled your eyes. “I’m going to stop you right there Your Highness, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I’ve been doing it for years. I don’t need some man, no matter how handsome he is coming to defend my honor every time I’m even remotely slighted. The trail of bodies will get far too long.” You stare into his eyes as you speak, putting all the righteous fury you’ve got stored inside into each word.
Seconds tick by before he opens his mouth to speak again.
“You think I’m handsome?”
“I think that we have bigger problems if that is the only thing you got from that.” You took another sip.
“No, no, no I got the point, you don’t need a big strong man to come to your rescue. Lucky for you, I am not big.”
The laugh that sprung from the back of your throat caught you off guard, you slap a hand over your mouth in an impossible effort to catch it and shove it back inside. He was funny, he had never been funny before.
Kili liked your laugh even though it was closer to a snort than an actual laugh, and he would be foolish to ignore the way his heart picked up at the thought that he was the one who made you laugh.
“You- I- I have never heard of a dwarf who makes fun of themselves, in my limited experience your lot are very prideful.”
“Not as prideful as some other races, I should think.”
“No, you’re not nearly as prideful as the pointy-eared bastards who hole themselves up in that accursed forest.” Your words held a healthy amount of rage as well as teasing.
“I sense that there is a story there somewhere.” Kili raised an eyebrow, mimicking your face from earlier. He was desperately trying not to think about the fact that this was the longest conversation the two of you had had up to date.
“One that I’m going to need a lot more liquid courage before divulging, I’m afraid.”
“We can make that happen.” Kili wiggled his eyebrows and pointed at the bottles of liquor behind the bar that separated the two of you.
At that very moment, a shout from the rowdy bunch of men in the back rang out, calling for another round.
“Duty calls your highness, but perhaps I will tell you that story… another time.” You winked at him and grabbed for your tray again, beginning to load it up once more. If that is how conversations with the dwarf prince went all the time, you wouldn’t mind having them more often.
You walked away before Kili could come up with a response, but he was more certain than he ever had been that your heart called to his. Why else would the very sight of you walking away feel like his heart was leaving too?

Porridge - Kíli Durin x Reader
Just a cute little winter themed drabble for our favorite little brother.
Warnings: mentions of broken bones, mentions of near-death, light crying, homesickness
Word Count: 0.6k
"Come in," the voice was muffled.
"How's my favorite—what in Aule's name," Kíli interrupted himself. Most likely because while he was expecting to find you on your bed, in your place was a very high pile of blankets, covering from the foot to the headboard.
"Shove it," the blanket pile groaned.
"What, are you hiding your shame?" Kíli chuckled, drawing closer and probing a corner of the bed before sitting down.
"No!" You exclaimed, finally throwing off the layers of blankets. "I—help me up, please," you muttered, and he obliged before you continued. "I have nothing to be ashamed of, that cliff was steep and I blame you for thinking it was a good idea to climb it—"
"When you said you adored goats, I assumed that meant you had some degree of their skill," Kíli smirked.
"—and I happen to be hiding from the cold because your mountain is bloody freezing," you finished with a dramatic pout.
"It's a mountain. In winter. Honestly, khebabmudtu, what were you expecting?" He teased, having found his way to the head of the bed and leaning his head against his hand, his elbow propped on the headboard.
He felt himself freeze when he noticed tears welling in your eyes.
"Hey," he said, voice softer. "What's wrong?"
"It's never this cold back home," you whimpered. "And no one here makes porridge the way Ma made it, and I can't make it myself because of my daft ankle, and I—I just..." you sighed, breaking off. "I miss home but I want to stay here, too."
Kíli frowned. He had seen you upset, sure, and he had seen you heartbroken—sure as Mahal when you thought he was dead—and he had more than definitely seen you angry. But he had never seen you distressed over something that even you would consider trivial.
"You mind?" he asked, already lifting the stack of the blanket corners to slide into the generous bed with you. You shook your head quickly.
"I'm not sure that it counts for much, but I understand," he said slowly. "I spent most of my life in Ered Luin, and I still feel a little homesick for it sometimes. I can't imagine what a big difference it is from the Southlands. But I'm glad you chose to stay here."
"God only knows why," you sniffled.
"Well, I was hoping for me," Kíli smiled, and you rolled your eyes. "But seriously, khebabmudtu, we all love having you here. Anything that can help make you stay, I'll do it."
You gave a grin-grimace. "Thanks, Kí," you said, and leaned into his side, much to his surprise. He was all too happy to wrap an arm around your shoulders to keep you there. "What does that word mean?"
He hesitated for a moment. "What word?"
"Khebabmudtu," you said, stumbling a bit over the consonants.
"Heart forge," he whispered, and when you looked up at him, confused, he knew he had to say it louder. "It means heart-forge. The forge where my heart is made."
"Hmm," you hummed shortly, snuggling into his ribs. "I bet you say that to all your lady friends."
He wanted to laugh. He couldn't believe you still didn't believe that he was the ugly brother. "No," he replied simply instead. "Just you."
Just you.
You liked the sound of that.

A Surprise Proposition
Kili x Reader

From the moment Bard appeared on the shoreline to collect the barrels from the elves to the two of you standing together on the barge for warmth, you had been hyperaware of a hand holding yours.
Maybe it was nothing and you were just overthinking it once again. Or maybe it was something, especially as the dwarf holding your hand had practically confessed his feelings for you whilst you were locked in the dungeons of Mirkwood.
Deciding to break the ice, unlike the barge, you were on, you cleared your throat to get your companion's attention.
"Are we just gonna... keep holding hands?" you tentatively asked. The brunette prince turned to face you whilst your other companions continued to squabble over money to pay the bargeman.
"Dunno. It's nice though." he shrugged back. Kili adjusted his grip on your hand before bringing it up to lay a kiss on the back of it.
"Kili." You stated, wanting a serious answer from him.
"Y/n." He replied in the same tone of voice.
Kili kept his eyes locked with yours before bringing his other hand up to brush a strand of your hair back behind your ear. You froze as he did so, knowing that him touching your hair was a big deal for dwarves.
"Well, when we finally get a moment to ourselves then I would like the honour of braiding your hair." Kili smiled at you, a hint of a teasing grin hidden underneath. He looked back out at the water covered in fog as your stunned silence allowed for a moment to gather his, and your, thoughts.
"I presume you understand our customs and what I'm implying," a teasing smile plastered on his lips. He knew that you understood the severity of his words, having explained with Bofur what different braids and beads in dwarves' hair and beards meant to you towards the beginning of the journey.
You let out a small scoff at his words, not one of displeasure no, but more in disbelief and excitement.
"You know, I'd never thought you'd ask." You teased back.

“I left you alone for two minutes…” seems like a very Bilbo-esque thing to say.
Sorry I didn't get to this in time for March Madness! But I hope this was worth the wait.
Characters: Pre-Bagginshield, Bilbo & Fili & Kili
Words: 1184
Bilbo had gotten used to being paired with Fili and Kili for nightly chores at this point. He privately called them Thorin’s ‘problem children’ because he felt their leader was resigned to Fili and Kili messing up and if he threw Bilbo into the mix it’s not like it could get any worse. Bilbo resolved himself to try to improve their standing in Thorin’s eyes, especially after the troll incident. It was unfortunate that his forced cohorts did not see it that way.
“I left you alone for two minutes.” He complained.
“Okay, but Uncle Bilbo, look at how cool this is!”
Bilbo rolled his eyes at the moniker before following after Kili as he tried to explain the contraption that Fili was struggling to tie off to the tree.
“You see, Thorin thinks that we’ll come back with a rabbit…maybe a quail if we're lucky. But look! We put some bait right here. It lures them to this spot over here. When there’s enough weight on it, the platform settles into the ground and that’s what releases the basket to fall on top of them!”
“And what are you going to do when you have fifteen to twenty live critters in your basket trap?” Bilbo raised an eyebrow.
“Are you familiar with the phrase ‘shooting fish in a barrel’?” Fili questioned with a grunt as he completed his task.
“Well, yes but I don’t think that’s supposed to be taken literal…you know what? This is one of your least crazy ideas. Well done, lads.”
Both boys immediately beamed, reminding Bilbo of just how young they actually were.
“Just wait til Uncle Thorin sees our bounty.” Kili grinned. “For once not to be subjected to his disapproving frown: I thought I taught you boys better than this.”
Bilbo tried. He really tried not to laugh, but Kili’s attempt to mimic Thorin’s deep timber along with his trademark scowl had him in giggles which only seemed to encourage the both of them.
“No, no! That’s not Thorin. It’s more like: How can I ever trust you to be princes of Erebor if you can’t brood as impressively as me?”
Kili and Bilbo were leaning against each other to hold themselves up as Fili looked off into the distance using his fingers to push his hair back like it was fluttering in the nonexistent wind.
“Wait, wait, wait. I’ve got it!” Bilbo declared, short of breath and trying to school his features. “Master Burglar, perhaps if you had any beard to speak of and your ears weren’t so pointy, you wouldn’t be quite so much of a burden to me.”
Fili and Kili were dead silent, their pallor going stark white in a hurry as their gaze was settled elsewhere. Bilbo frowned.
“What? It was just as good as either of yours. Was it the beard comment? Was that why you didn’t find it funny because you both…well, it’s not to say you don’t have fine beards of your own but…”
“I thought it was funny.”
Bilbo froze, ice shooting straight down his spine as heat rushed to his head making him feel faint. Oh dear. Well, that explains what the boys were looking at now. Very slowly he turned around to see Thorin, of course it was Thorin, standing across the way with his arms crossed, a smirk on his face, but his eyes screaming aggravation as he slowly made his way towards them.
“In fact,” Thorin continued making the three of them wince. “I think it’s hilarious that I leave you the most menial tasks, and even then you somehow find a way to screw it up. Watch the ponies, and you find three mountain trolls. Dig a latrine, and you somehow get Master Baggins stuck in a watery hole.”
“Well, it was more like a natural forming well.” Fili tried to defend.
“SHARZA!” Thorin shouted in return. When none of them looked ready to argue again, he continued. “And now you’ve constructed this monstrosity when all you had to do was…”
“No! Wait! THORIN NOT TH-” Kili tried to warn, but it was too late.
Thorin stepped on the boys’ platform, his weight more than enough to release the basket. They all watched in horror as Thorin looked up, right as the basket fell, and crumpled the dwarf into the ground. No one moved as Thorin lay on the ground, unmoving, halfway under the basket.
“What…did you do to it?” Bilbo asked softly.
“W-We…” Kili squeaked before clearing his throat. “We didn’t want our quarry to escape in the time it took for the basket to fall.”
“So we…weighed it down with rocks.” Fili finished sheepishly.
“Sweet Yavanna.” Bilbo gasped. “You killed him.”
There was half a beat of silence before they ran over to the dwarf, shouting his name, and pulling the basket away from his motionless body. Bilbo cradled his head as he lightly slapped Thorin's cheeks.
“Thorin, it’s time to wake-up. Thorin, are you still with us?”
A groan sounded below them, and Fili, Kili, and Bilbo collectively released a sigh even if Thorin had yet to open his eyes.
“Thank Mahal. I thought we were going to have to crown Fili as king already.” Kili teased. “Erebor would fall before we would even get in it.”
“Oh please. You inheriting the throne is literally Balin’s worst nightmare!” Fili shouted.
Bilbo rolled his eyes and tuned the brothers out at that point as Thorin slowly began to open his dazed blue eyes, a hand going straight to his forehead.
“Thorin? Are you okay?” Bilbo questioned.
The dwarf’s gaze snapped to Bilbo before softening into something that had Bilbo’s breath catching in his throat. That quickly changed into Bilbo nearly choking as Thorin’s hand moved to trace Bilbo’s pointy ear.
“I like them.” Thorin murmured, causing Bilbo’s face to turn into a blazing inferno.
The hobbit quickly cast an irritated glance back at the boys. “Now look at what you did! He’s completely lost his mind.”
“That’s just uninhibited Thorin.” Fili scoffed.
“Why do you think we call you Uncle Bilbo?” Kili smirked.
WHAT?
“Earlier.” Thorin groaned, closing his eyes momentarily in pain. “You made mention to your ears. I’m just saying I like them. And your beardless chin is not that off-putting either.”
“Uh…thank you.” Bilbo admitted softly. “You also…I like your…right, well, let’s get you back to camp in any case. Just to make sure you’re alright.”
With Fili and Kili’s help, Bilbo was able to hoist Thorin back to his feet, his arm lay across Bilbo’s shoulders as he helped the staggering dwarf listening to him praise the curls on Bilbo’s feet, the roundness of his stomach, and the gold in his hair. Bilbo took all the compliments with burning ears and a secret smile. He knew Thorin would be back to normal soon, but he was going to hold his words tightly in his heart, whether spoken earnestly or not. And then he was going to remind Thorin that it was his nephews, not Bilbo who knocked him out in the first place and deserve his ire.

Ludus is a child-like and flirtatious love commonly found in the beginning stages of a relationship. This type of love consists of teasing, playful motives, and laughter between two people.
Tumblr media
Kili has captivated you since your first encounter at Bag End. His brilliant eyes and mischievous grin have stained your cheeks with a hot blush that hasn't left since. The lingering glances, fleeting touches, and the slight holding of breath at ‘what ifs’ that littered your friendship created butterflies and the perfect anxiety of intimacy between you. Although just out of reach, a mutual adoration pulsed with the energy of something new and with the exciting potential to stay.
The velvet clouds of dusk enveloped the last wisps of sunlight as the company set up camp. Moonlight glistened fondly upon tonight’s antics, which permeated the fog of exhaustion clouding the rest of the grumbling company.
"Why are you blinking like that with your eyes? Is everything ok?" As you questioned him, you burst out laughing, your smile widening.
"That was supposed to be a wink!" In a mock shock, he defended himself jokingly. His honeyed voice and expressive hands that weaved through the air sparked a warm glow in your chest.
"A wink? Oh, I’m flattered," You smirked, meeting his gaze, and revelled in the anticipation of spending more time with him.
Rain started to fall gently. Its numbing cold drew you both closer. As it spat more harshly, your bodies instinctively huddled together. It wasn't the kissing in the rain, but the moment right before it. When your eyes met in spluttered out giggles of mutual understanding. Whispered-out confessions between smiling lips and hot touches. Finally, finally, finally, your hearts pounded in your chests as you blinked rain out of your eyes, the world a smudged haze around you. Lips met in a tender sigh of relief that, yes, he feels it too.

New Year's Eve Kisses 2022
Note: Hello, friends, and Happy New Year! At long last, and for the third year in a row, I present to you, New Year’s Eve Drabbles! I tried to make reader gender neutral in all of these, aside from the Kili one, which is a continuation of The Book Keeper! It may also serve as an introduction for a possible sequel to that fic.
Fandoms: Stranger Things, MCU, Tolkien, Harry Potter (fuck JK Rowling; Trans Rights are Human Rights), Once Upon a Time
Total Word Count: 3.3k
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol (champagne, mostly), kissing (obviously), and two (2) marriage proposals. Also mentions of Eddie’s bat scars.
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson
Word Count: 0.4k
Quite honestly, Eddie Munson didn’t think he’d live to see the end of 1986. It had had its ups and downs and its Upside Downs, but through it all, he’d had you right at his side, his second-in-command, his cleric, and, in real life, the very person who’d saved his life and ensured he’d live to see 1986 fade into 1987.
You and Eddie had been friends since elementary school. You’d been bullied as a kid, but Eddie didn’t put up with that and he didn’t want you to, either. He’d stood up for you one fateful day in the third grade and made a friend he knew he’d cherish for the rest of his life.
At the moment, the two of you were at Steve Harrington’s New Year’s Eve party, a sentence neither of you thought you’d utter, with some of his friends as well as Eddie’s bandmates, the Hellfire Club, and a few of Dustin’s other friends. Trauma was a weird thing, after all, and bonded the most unexpected people.
“Here.” Eddie handed you a solo cup full of booze and you sniffed it before taking a sip of whatever mystery punch the rest of Corroded Coffin had poured together.
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it.” He leaned against the kitchen counter, taking a sip of his drink as well, tattooed arms folded across his chest.
“Another one, huh?” You chuckled, shaking your head. “Another year.”
“Thanks to you.” He nudged you with his elbow. “You really saved my ass, you know? I really don’t think I’d be standing here without you, big ugly bat scars and all.”
“Yeah, well, you’ve saved my ass plenty of times, Munson, I’m pretty sure we’re even.”
He smirked, bumping his shoulder into yours. “You think so?”
“I do.” You nodded.
Steve drew everyone’s attention to the countdown, which was nearing a steady close.
“Hey, uh, (Y/N)?” Eddie said, his words slowing. “So remember that…not running away thing I was working on?”
“By running straight into a herd of evil mutant bats, yes, I recall.”
He scoffed. “Heh, yeah, well, um…There’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while, and I…you know what, fuck it.”
“What, Eddie—”
He smashed his lips against yours as the ball finally dropped, kissing you hungrily. You kissed him back, spilling your drink as you surrendered to his embrace. It was uncharted territory for both of you, sure, but just like your DnD campaign, you couldn’t wait to explore it with him, side by side.

Druig
Word Count: 0.5k
When the New Year finally rolled around, the Eternals that were close enough decided to throw something of a celebration, just as you’d all done in the years before you’d split off and gone your separate ways. Now that Druig had finally come out of hiding, he was standing in the corner of the room, sulking, snacking, and sipping champagne as he watched some random guy flirt with you across the room.
You and Druig were…complicated to say the least. You weren’t together, not officially. You obviously both cared about each other a lot, but neither of you had ever taken that next step, not before Druig had all but dropped off of the face of the planet.
You’d missed him, of course, but you weren’t sure how to bridge that gap, if that was even still what either of you wanted. He was the Hades to your Persephone. Quite literally. Your dynamic was where Sprite spun the legend to begin with.
“Why the long face?” Sersi asked, standing next to him, that soft, compassionate look on her face.
Druig shrugged. “Dunno. Just…not feeling the party, I guess.”
“Is that so?” She asked. “Why’s that?”
“Just…thought it would be different, is all.”
“Huh, well, looks like someone else might feel the same way.” Sersi nudged him, motioning to you with her head. Sure enough, you were giving the ‘help me’ eyes, stuck in conversation with the stranger in front of you.
“Oh.” Druig said, straightening up his jacket before standing up and briskly walking to you. “This guy botherin’ you, love?”
“Who’s this?” The frat bro in front of you asked, looking Druig up and down. It was true, Druig was much shorter than the lunkhead, but, of course, Druig had his own secret weapon up his sleeve.
“I’m their boyfriend.” Druig announced, slipping his arm around your waist. “Who are you?”
“Kyle.”
“Well, Kyle, if you don’t mind too much, I’ll be borrowing the beautiful, beautiful (Y/N) for the rest of the night.”
Kyle looked like he was about to retaliate, but then a golden hue took over his eyes and he turned around abruptly and walked across the room and out into the cold.
You chuckled and looked over at Druig. “Thank you. You just saved me from a riveting conversation about NFTs.”
His eyebrows furrowed. “What’s an NFT?”
“You don’t wanna know.”
He grinned. “I’ll take your word for it, then.”
“How are you doing?” You asked, leaning into him a little more.
“Better now.”
“You looked a little grumpy before.”
“You noticed.”
“I always do. Especially when it’s you.” You smirked, mischievous. “So you’re my boyfriend, huh?”
“For the evening.” He shrugged. “Or longer, if you want.”
“Are you finally asking me out?”
“Might be.” Druig pulled you closer to him, his hands on your waist as the other Eternals began their countdown. “Are you saying yes?”
“Might be.” You repeated, nose brushing against his as you went in for a tender kiss.

Kili
Word Count: 0.8k
“So the Dwarves are coming over here for New Year’s Eve…why?” Your friend Chelsea asked, hanging up some 2023 balloons.
“Because they already had their New Year’s on Durin’s Day there, so…” You shrugged. “You know how they are, they just like parties.”
“That is true.” Kili nodded, walking into the kitchen.
Your face lit up when you saw him, and you walked over to him, surrendering to his embrace. “When did you come over?”
“Just a moment ago, my love.” Kili replied, pressing a kiss to your lips. “Do you need help preparing the festivities?”
“Actually, yes. Do you and the guys want to bring the drinks in from the car?”
“One step ahead of ye, lassie.” Dwalin replied, sipping from a bottle of beer he’d found out there, Fili and Thorin carrying in cases of beer behind him. You had bought a lot of it, but you still weren’t sure it would be enough to satiate the Dwarves. Only time would tell. Worse case scenario, they could go back through the portal in your closet and get some ale from Erebor.
“Thanks, guys. Anyone wanna go with Phil to pick up the pizzas?”
“I will!” Ori volunteered excitedly. “What’s pizza?”
The pieces slowly started to fall into place. You explained human New Year’s Eve traditions to the Dwarves whenever they asked questions.
“Kissing at midnight?” Thorin asked, well within earshot of Kili. “Does it have to be your betrothed?”
“Nope! Some people kiss total strangers, but if you have a partner, you usually kiss them, yeah.”
“Interesting.”
“Why, you have someone in mind, uncle?” Fili asked, teasing.
“No, of course not.” Thorin shook his head, flustered.
“Hmm.” You hummed, laughing softly. You turned to Kili, smirking. “Do you know who you wanna kiss?”
“I have a faint inkling, yes.” He smirked, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
In no time at all, the party was in full swing and the dwarves were distracted very effectively by the New Year’s Eve countdown, mesmerized by the colors and songs and segments included. Ori was taking notes ferociously while the other Dwarves participated in a drinking game led by one of your friends.
You sat in Kili’s lap, chatting with the others, sipping on champagne, and waiting for the final bell to toll, bringing 2022 to a close.
“Do you have a New Year’s Resolution?” Dori asked you, sampling some champagne himself.
“I’d like to write another book.” You said, leaning into Kili. “What about you?”
“I do have one.” Kili nodded. “But I think I’d rather tell you in private it it’s all the same to you.”
“Oh?” You asked.
He nodded, giving your hips a push off of the couch and taking you to the other room. You looked up at him curiously. In your world, the Mortal Realm, Kili stood about six feet tall, as opposed to his usual 4’ 10” that he sported so proudly back home. It was odd how your height difference flip-flopped back and forth, but you were coming to love it.
“So, I’ve been doing some research.” He began, taking one of your hands with his own. “It may be too soon, but…” Kili reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. He slowly got down on one knee, offering the box to you.
“Kili…” You whispered, your voice breaking. “Is this…?”
“Open it.” He urged, his voice faltering.
You opened the lid of the finely crafted wooden box. It was clear he’d made that from scratch as well, and sure enough, inside, you found a small tuft of green velvet, atop which sat three things: an intricate engagement band, which looked much like the claddagh ring he’d made for you, but with a diamond in the place of the emerald in the other ring, which currently sat, upright, on your right ring finger. The second and third were matching wedding beads, meant to be braided into your hair and his, to signify in Dwarven society that you were married.
“Oh my God. Kili, I…”
“In this New Year, in your world, in mine, I wish to marry you, to be your husband, to care for you for all of your days. And if you’d have me, my One, I would love to make you my wife.”
You nodded, tears slipping from your eyes as you pulled him back to his feet. “Yes, Kili. I love you so much. So much. I can’t wait to marry you.”
Kili pressed his lips to yours, collecting you in his arms, kissing you for the remainder of the year, your last year as an unmarried couple as it slowly bled into the year in which you would finally be married to the Dwarven prince of your dreams.

Neville Longbottom
Word Count: 0.8k
“Professor Longbottom?” One of Neville’s fourth year students asked, entering the greenhouse. It was winter break and only a handful of students remained in the castle, along with the few professors who had stayed. It had been a few years since the Battle and Neville had returned to Hogwarts, now the Herbology professor.
“Yes, Tilda?”
“Have you seen Professor (L/N)? I have a question about the extra credit assignment for their class.”
“I haven’t. Did you check their office?”
“I did, it was empty.”
“Huh.” Neville thought for a moment, running through your favorite places in the castle that you could have stolen away to. “Well, what’s the assignment?”
“We have to write about a Muggle holiday we haven’t learned in class yet. I wanted to write about New Year’s Eve, but…”
You walked into the greenhouse, holding a bundle of flowers. “Neville, have you--? Oh, hello Tilda.”
“Professor (L/N)!” Tilda grinned.
“She has a question for you.”
“I thought you might be in here with Professor Longbottom…” Tilda admitted with a shy grin. It was no secret to most of your students that there was something going on between the two of you. “I have a question about New Year’s Eve. So, the kiss everyone talks about, is that before or after midnight?”
“Oh, a New Year’s Eve kiss? It’s usually right at midnight. Muggles believe it’ll bring them luck in the new year.” You explained for her.
“Ohhhh. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much.”
“Of course. Let me know if there’s anything else you need! Will you be at the party tonight?”
“I will!” She smiled, saying goodbye to both of you before walking away.
“A New Year’s Eve kiss?” Neville raised an eyebrow, taking a step closer to you as soon as Tilda was out of sight and earshot.
“It’s tradition.” You shrugged, resting a hand against his cozy sweater vest. Outside, there was snow falling in large, fluffy flakes, visible through the greenhouse windows. “And if you’re lucky, you just might get one tonight.”
“What are these for?” He motioned to the flowers in your hand, changing the subject, his cheeks reddening. He had grown up a lot since you’d first met him, that was for sure, but every so often, the shy side of him showed itself again, reminding you of that shy Gryffindor boy you’d first fallen in love with. Little did you know he was nervous about something else that the evening would bring.
“They were in my office.”
“Well, you should put them in water, they’re lovely.” He replied, knowingly.
You rested your arms on his shoulders, pressing your forehead against his. “Thank you, Nev.”
“Of course, love.”
***
Later in the evening came the party Headmaster McGonogall was throwing for the few kids who were still there, as well as the staff who had volunteered to stay behind. The Grand Hall was decked out with silvery decorations, the tables near the front of the room loaded with food and punch.
You and Neville kept orbiting each other, keeping a safe distance to remain professional, but it was terribly obvious to anyone who knew the two of you that you shared a deep connection.
“You look lovely, dear.” McGonogall complimented, looking at your outfit.
“Thank you, Headmaster.” You thanked. “Happy New Year.”
“A Happy New Year indeed.” She eyed Neville, standing in the corner. “Mr. Longbottom looks quite nervous, does he not?”
“Oh.” You glanced over at him and she was right. He was pacing, even as midnight approached. “Yeah, he does. I’ll go check on him.”
You walked over to him and grabbed his attention, pulling him to a private corner. “You okay?”
He nodded, shaking.
You took his hands in yours and felt the way he was trembling. “Hey, hey, what’s going on?”
“I…” He sighed. “I’m…”
“Take your time.” You encouraged, your voice soft.
He took a long breath, centering himself, that Gryffindor courage finally taking hold. “(Y/N), I have been in love with you since our fourth year. When I saw you at that Yule Ball in this very room…I knew that I had to…to do this someday.”
“Do what someday?” You whispered, watching as he, shakily, pulled a tiny box from his pocket, opening it to reveal the most gorgeous engagement ring you had ever seen, its gem in the shape of a flower, metal leaves on either side of it. Tears pooled in your eyes. “Oh, Neville.”
“Will you marry me?”
In the background, you heard the students counting down to the new year while you had a brand new life waiting in anticipation for you to make your choice.
“Yes, Neville, of course.” You rushed into his arms, pulling him into the tightest hug while he exhaled a sigh of relief. “I can’t wait to marry you.”
And sure enough, right as the new year hit, you sealed your promise with a sweet kiss.

Peter Pan
Word Count: 0.8k
“What, so you’re telling me you don’t celebrate New Year’s?” You asked in disbelief at the nightly bonfire. It had been a few months since you’d taken up permanent residence in Neverland with Peter and the rest of the Lost Boys, but you’d been visiting the place in your dreams, and their self-appointed ruler, for that matter, for several years.
“What point would there be in that?” Felix asked, rolling his eyes at the sentiment. “Time doesn’t pass here. We don’t have a calendar year like they do in the Mortal Realm.”
“Then how do you keep track of time?”
“We don’t.” One of the other Lost Boys laughed.
“No other holidays?” You asked, eyebrows scrunching together. “None at all?”
“Nope.”
“Huh.”
You didn’t say much after that, thinking about it. You’d been trying to keep track of the days since you’d left home, and you knew it was probably getting to be around that time there. Not that you wanted to go back; you didn’t. But it still felt strange, one last final difference that further divided your new life from the one you had left behind for the adventure of a lifetime.
Pan found you later, studying the look on your face. He didn’t like when people were sad; it brought the whole vibe down, but he had a soft spot for you, had picked you especially to be, well…his. He wanted you to be happy for that reason, too. It hadn’t entirely dawned on him why that was, why your feelings were so important to him.
“Love?”
“Hmm?”
“Something bothering you?”
“Not really. It’s not important.”
He chuckled and sat in front of you, pinching your chin with his fingers and forcing you to meet his eyes. “Yes it is. What’s going on?”
“I just…Felix said you guys don’t really celebrate holidays here. I guess it makes sense. I should have realized that sooner, I guess.”
Peter thought for a long moment, putting the pieces together. “You miss holidays, then. We celebrate a lot, have parties nearly every night.”
“Yeah, I know, and I like those a lot too, but…I don’t know, something about…the rituals, I guess. I think New Year’s Eve would have been soon. It’s one of my favorite holidays.”
“Is it?” He raised an eyebrow, taking your hand. “Well then…let me see what I can do about that, eh?”
***
A few nights later, Pan sent you out with Felix on a “special errand.” You weren’t really sure what you were supposed to be looking for, but he’d said something about seashells, so you and Felix were combing the beach and collecting some.
“I was skeptical of you, you know?” Felix admitted. It wasn’t any surprise to you that was the case. Felix was Pan’s right hand man, after all. Most of his job was figuring out who was and wasn’t to be trusted. “But…something about having you here…Pan is different, more powerful, lighter, even.”
“Thanks, I think.” You chuckled. “You’re not so bad yourself, you know.”
“I’ve been told I’m something of an acquired taste.”
“Yeah, well…I appreciate you looking out for me. You both made the transition a lot easier.”
“Anything for Pan’s Chosen.” He bowed playfully as you gathered the last of the seashells and you began the long hike back, only to find…the campgrounds were decorated.
There were glass orbs and flickering lights dangling from the tree branches, a large grandfather clock propped up against a tree. In the center of it all was Pan, dressed in a sparkly gold suit, holding an even sparklier gold outfit for you in his arms.
“What’s all this?” You asked, looking around in awe.
“It’s New Year’s Eve, love.” Pan insisted, smirking. “Here, get dressed. I’ll save you some champagne.”
“Champagne?” You asked, incredulous. “Where did you get all this stuff.”
“Details, details…” He shook his head, giving you a little push towards your hut, where you quickly changed into the new outfit before meeting him outside, where the Lost Boys were acting out what you could only assume was supposed to be some form of a New Year’s Eve broadcast while the grandfather clock began to tick down to midnight.
Peter took your hand and raised it to his lips. “You look absolutely stunning.”
“You clean up nice yourself.” You chuckled, still in disbelief at everyting that was unfolding around you. “I…”
“You don’t like it.” His expression fell.
“No! Oh my gosh, Peter, I love it, I just…I can’t believe you would do all this for me…”
He met your eyes, his voice very serious. “I would do anything for you, (Y/N). I suppose I’ll just have to keep proving that to you.”
It truly was one of the best nights you’d had on Neverland, if not in your life, and sure enough, when midnight hit, Pan made sure he wouldn’t miss out on perhaps the most important New Year’s Eve tradition of all. And he met you under the stars to capture your lips in a sweet, tender kiss.

Notes: When crossing a bridge on Halloween night (Samhain) you meet a mysterious knight, does this remind you of any legend?
Warnings: Fíli x fem!reader; reader eats meat and drinks wine; persecution; SFW.
Tumblr media
The icy wind forced you to bend down and hold on tighter to the cloak that covered you, your horse was already tired from the long journey, but even though the sun had long since set you couldn't stop, it was Samhain night, you had to get home. Further on, even though your eyes were begging for rest, you could see a faint bluish glow and you were right to assume it was a lake. Arriving at the water's edge, you stopped so that your horse could have a drink and took the opportunity to refill your canteen too.
As you searched through your bag for something to eat, believing it would give you the energy to stay awake for a few more hours, a sound of something moving among the leaves came towards you and suddenly stopped. Without delay, you climbed back onto your horse, which was now alert too. "Who's there?" you asked into the shadows of the night, bow in hand, ready to fire an arrow. With a quick movement and a sound as subtle as a mouse, something approached from your right, but your ears didn't fail and you unhesitatingly shot in the direction, hitting a large black wolf that cried out in pain before being seized by hatred. But you didn't give him a chance, already pulling on the reins to take your horse in a new direction, then starting a chase.
At first it was just one wolf, but after its painful howl, several joined it, hunting you. It didn't matter which direction you were going anymore, you just needed to escape them, lose them. You went down an old road and crossed a bridge that creaked with the horse gallop, only to come to the end and come face to face with a forest too thick for your horse to pass through. He stopped and skidded before raising his paws in fear of hitting the trees and knocking you down. Your back hurt and your head was spinning when you managed to get up, still in time to see him run away at a fast gallop that mixed with the sounds of the wolves approaching, thirsty, you knew you would never be able to run faster than them.
Before you could hide or think of any plans, you saw the black cloud they were forming cross the bridge, its white teeth gleaming at you. And when all seemed lost and you had accepted that there, on that cold October night, would be your end, a rider appeared. His horse was as black as the sky that covered you, he wore a long cloak, wielded a long bronze sword, from where you stood you couldn't see his face, but his hair looked like the first rays of the morning sun. Bravely he stunned and wounded the pack single-handedly, you were so surprised that you didn't even think to draw your bow and react, it didn't take long for the pack to flee, and when the last wolf crossed the old bridge he leaned forward, still with his back to you, and sheathed his sword. When he stood up straight again, his blond curls spread out over his long cloak, and he turned his face to look at you over his shoulder.
As he pulled the horse's reins to look you in the face, you stood up and adjusted yourself as best you could to make yourself presentable. He was a short man with great presence, furrowed eyebrows and shrewd eyes analyzing you, he had a long nose that ended in a braided mustache and a blonde beard. His clothes were beautiful and yours were dirty, you were about to say thank you when he spoke earlier.
- A maiden shouldn't walk alone on Samhain night, she'll end up getting hurt - he had a smug smile on his lips and now it was yours eyebrows that were furrowed.
- Excuse me? But I was perfectly fine and could have managed on my own, I don't remember asking for help from any flirt.
- What a sharp tongue you have, you should be more careful with what you say, you never know who you might end up offending - his look seemed curious, almost as if he was having fun with the situation.
- You're full of "shoulds", aren't you? If it's so dangerous "shouldn't" I know your name?
The blonde man remained silent for a while, analyzing the situation and thinking about whether he should really tell you his name, or better yet, reveal who he really was.
- I am Fíli, son of Dís, daughter of Thráin. And I wasn't lying when said it's dangerous to be alone in the woods at night. Much more on this particular night. Without further intrigue, allow me to take you to a safer place - he extended his hand to you, a new look on his face, sincere and welcoming.
You looked away from him to the bridge for a moment, remembering how close the wolves were before he arrived, how close you were to death. Turning away from this distressing thought, you accepted his hand, it was definitely not today that you would accept your death. With a strong tug he helped you onto the horse, you sitting right behind. When the animal started to run, you were forced to hug Fíli's waist to stop yourself from falling. As they rode away, you remembered how, before the man turned to face you, even as he fight, you couldn't see his head, only his hair, which now, when you thought about it, without the fear blurring your vision, looked very much like living flames - was your imagination playing tricks on you?
The knight took you to an old castle, it looked abandoned. He stopped and helped you get off the horse. You doubted he really lived there, branches had already grown around the towers, the stones on the walls were dirty with age and the windows were dark. The big door creaked open, and magically the torches in the hallway lit up, you don't know how but you didn't ask.
- You live here? - asked, looking at the grandeur of the place.
- Since I was a child. I'm sorry about the dust, I can't always clean everything myself - he takes off his cape and hangs it on the coat rack at the entrance.
- Only you live here?
- Yes, everyone left after... - he was silent - ... You must be hungry, come - he smiled at you and continued on.
Fíli guided you through the corridors to a large dining room with a table just as long. At the end, there was a hearty dinner set out for the two of you.
- Were you expecting a visitor? - you said, taking the second glass.
- Maybe I went out looking for one - he pulled out the chair for you and smiled.
Only when the cooked meat touched your tongue and the seasoning invaded your mouth did you realize how hungry you were. Without paying attention, you ended up exaggerating the amount of wine you drank and soon the alcohol started to go to your head.
- It was good? - Fíli asked when you finished.
- Very good - you smiled and suddenly remembered how rude you had been to the man who saved your life - Thank you very much for all this, you don't even know me and are helping, I'm sorry for being so rude to you.
- Don't worry about it, I would also have responded that way to a strange man on a horse in the middle of the night - he laughed - And I think it doesn't matter if I know you or not, it's Samhain night, there has to be at least one date in the year to be kind without future interests, right?
-I think so...- your eyes became heavy, you leaned on the chair, the tiredness from before returning even stronger.
When you almost slipped out of the chair in your sleep, Fíli caught you, carefully lifting you up, "come on, I'll take you to your room" he said before leading you down more hallways and stairs. The mattress on the bed was soft and the covers were heavy, that was all you could say about your room as your eyes were practically closed when you entered, the blonde helping you lay down and cover you up.
- Good night, Y/n - he said, but you didn't remember telling him your name, but you didn't question it because you were already falling into a deep sleep.
The next morning, you woke up in a silent castle, sunlight shyly coming through the window to illuminate the room. You walked down the steps with light steps, there were no more candles lit and everything seemed more abandoned than last night. You looked between the doors as you passed through the hallways, but they were all filled with just furniture and nothing else except some cobwebs, where was Fíli? When reached the entrance hall you looked back, waited for a moment for any sound that would indicate the presence of anyone else in the house, but nothing.
- Fili? - you called, but no one answered.
Before leaving you noticed a painting at the entrance that you had not paid attention to last night, the painting was torn, but when you stretched it again and completed the image you found those beautiful shining eyes, in the frame of the painting there was a small golden plaque that "Fíli" was engraved and next to it was the year of birth... And the year of death. You walked away and took your breath away, he had died decades ago, how was it possible that you had seen him yesterday? Having spoken to him, touched him and felt him, how?
Without further ado, you left the house and had another shock when you found your horse that had escaped, standing outside, waiting for you calmly while was grazing. You looked once more at the castle behind you and you could have sworn you saw a curtain move. You wouldn't forget that Samhain night so easily.

A stirring behind you had you slowly pulling away from the sleep you'd been in.  As you became aware of your surroundings, the biggest sense that registered was warmth. You were so warm, inside and out.
You were hesitant to get out of bed, but decided to start your day anyways.  Just as you started to pull away, the strong arm around you pulled you back against the warm, hard body behind you.
"Don' go," he slurred, not fully awake.  He curled his body tighter around you, causing his hips to flex and remind you of the night before.
He'd been truthful, keeping you on his knot and mindless with pleasure until the sun had started to make itself known and you'd both passed out waiting for his knot to deflate.  Now, even though he wasn't locked onto you anymore, he was still there, deeply seated and half mast.
"Need to go," you replied.  "Need to shower and get clean, finish some reports before work tomorrow."  You really did want to stay, but you knew you had responsibilities to tend to.
That is, until Bucky uttered the two words that were just as much your weakness as his were.
"'Mega, please," he whined.
You sighed dramatically as a smile spread across your face.  "Five more minutes then," you relented happily as you wiggled closer.  You gasped softly at the feeling of Bucky slipping slightly out of you as you did, a feeling he quickly rectified as he gently slid fully inside you again.
Bucky hummed, "I could stay here forever inside you, so warm and perfect.  Made just for me."
Your walls squeezed him, fully exciting him as you did.  "Yes, 'Mega," he cooed as he wrapped one arm around you, holding you to him, as the other went down to gently stroke your bundle of nerves, "wrap those walls around me.  Make that pretty pussy of mine hold me deep inside you.  No where else I'd rather be than here in our nest, our bodies holding each other."
Your hips moved as you keened at the sweet, soft, gentle loving your alpha was giving you.  He started to slowly thrust in and out of you, his hand moving up to play with your right nipple.  He gently stroked and pulled on it before switching to your left one, giving them both attention as he continued to take his time working on your clit and make love to you.
"Alpha," you sighed, "feel so good."
"So perfect.  This pussy is heaven on earth.  Mine, this pussy is all mine.  Gonna fill my perfect pussy with my knot."  Bucky continued to speak dirty and sweet and possessive as he continued his ministrations, slowly, yet steadily, working your body until a tense warmth spread through your body, pushing you to the edge of bliss.
"Gonna stay right here inside you," he murmured as his thrusts grew shallow.  You could feel his knot expanding inside you until there was no hope of separation.  One more rub against your already sensitive clit had you gently falling into sweet oblivion.
"That's it, 'Mega," he whispered before his teeth grazed against your neck near where he'd already marked you.  "Love watching you come for me, soaking me in your sweet slick."  With his last word, you felt him tense behind you before he softly groaned, filling you as promised with his own orgasm.
You both panted as you continued to lay there, basking in the sweet, yet sexy, intimate moment you'd just had.  Despite the plans you'd had to be productive, you ended up dozing back off to sleep to the soft coos of your Bucky telling you how he had no plans to let you go any time soon.

Kili "TREAT" 🎃
Thank you! :) Ok, I don't know what I just wrote. I hope you don't beat me with a broom. It's under 500 words, I remember that you don't like long stories.
Tumblr media
“Don’t go just yet.”
His hand is shaped to hold yours. The very look of it, wrapped around your palm with sweet precision, is a perfect food for a daydream, that you trust to humor you till the evening brings you face to face again. His smile is warm, like the hearth of a home long lost, the glitter of excitement and admiration breathing life into these onyx eyes to an extent that is too much to bear.
“We shouldn’t be here, my Prince.”
“That’s what you always say,” reproaches he lightly, “But here you are.”
“Just one last time. Don’t wait for me tomorrow.”
“I will. Or I will climb this tower and scream your name until I’m hoarse and they’re deaf.”
 “Kili…”
He silences you with a kiss, quite insistent for someone so kind of temper.
You’re tempted to take him at his word. The threat of the kind was not the first one you hear from him, and not an empty sound. You are just barely reasonable enough to let it remain a threat, but the wish to see it fulfilled is growing scaringly fast.
For weeks you’ve been letting its whisper drown in the soft sound of his promises, unwilling to part with what you already got used to.
You’ve longed for a future by his side. You’ve loved the present, in which he couldn’t have enough of you, and showed no thought of hiding it.
His head weighs heavily on your lap, as you stroke the silk-soft hair in a mindless bliss, again and again. His body radiates satisfaction, deep breaths leaving his chest quietly. For a moment or so you almost expect him to purr.
The idea forces you to smile against all doubts. It suddenly seems so easy. So right.
“Kili,” you speak again, and marvel at the stiff notes in your own voice, “Do it now.”
The love of your life looks up at you in wonder, still caught in the minute of rest.
“The tower,” you invite him in as grave a tone.
The mischievous smirk springs to his lips not at once, but when it does, your heart feels lighter than a feather.
He jumps to his feet and bows to you - a playful yet thrilled motion.
“As you command, my love.”
You lean back on the bench and close your eyes, bracing yourself for the impact.

@domesticgoddesswriter and I were chatting and laughing together about songs for her Hobbit fics last night and one of our antics led to me writing this for her. It’s a little ghost chapter that can fit in with any of her work if you squint. Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The company had been walking for hours, miles, over hills, through mountains and hiding from Orc packs. While it had been an uneventful week, the company was running out of conversations to have with each other. The princes were absolutely restless and waiting to cause trouble, especially with their Uncle.
It was a beautiful sunny morn. The sun streamed in through the trees in golden rays, drops from the shower last night made the forest sparkle like jewels. With the lush grass tickling Bilbo’s feet, he wondered if that was what the starlight gems looked like. Erebor, it was such a long way to go still, but this was nice. The velvet ground was keeping their steps silent so that the songs of the birds that filtered through the trees were uninterrupted.
Bilbo walked along the back of the company at the moment. He was admiring a bit of everything, letting his mind flutter like the butterflies on the daisies he passed. A sharp movement at the corner of his eye interrupted the airyness of nature's movements. The princes were dropping back. They slowly made their way back from the lead with Balin. Maybe that leather lace finally broke on Kili’s boot, Bilbo thought to himself. Looking closer, they both had that look. That they’re up to something, look.
Thankfully, Bilbo was excited to see what they had in mind for the company. They started walking behind Dori who was behind Ori who was behind Bofur who was behind Thorin. So Thorin was the target. Oh, this was gonna be fun.
Silence. Nature. Time passed, and passed some more. A doe was enjoying a meal watching them pass uninterested, a bluebell sticking out of the bunch of grass she was currently sampling.
“Rockn. Rockn and rollin”
Kili’s voice broke the peace. Bilbo’s head snapped to the dark-haired Dwarf. Heads started to glance back when it seemed that was the only thing the prince had to say. Thorin seemed unfazed. Dori stifled a giggle.
“DOWN TO THE BEACH I'M STROLLIN’!!!!” Fili’s voice startled everyone, they started to skip forward up the line. Subtle groans could be heard from the company. Thorin’s shoulders were no longer moving as loose as they had been. The birds seemed frozen mid-song at the sheer audacity of the breaking of peace.
“BUT thE SEaGuLLS pOke At mY hEAd,” both Princes now sang as they jogged and swatted at Thorin’s head, messing his hair up. Kili even did a little spin on one foot and lightly kicked Orcrest hanging helplessly at his side. They giggled, but what really caught Bilbo's attention, other than the steam that started coming off Thorin, was that he could hear Gandalf humming with the boys.
They continued singing, “Not fun! I said Seagulls, st-”
“STOP!!! WILL YOU BOTH SHUT IT!!!” Thorin Exploded.
Fili and Kili, now next to Bomber, giggled, smiled, and patted each other on the back in congratulations. They had simply wanted to get on their poor uncle's nerves and get a reaction out of him. Bilbo heard everything from sighs to giggles from various parts of the company, but all were smiling… except one. It felt good. Bilbo could almost see the thoughts of the company shift to happier times. Quiet returned, the birds now just chittering away.
“EVERYONE TOLD ME-” All heads snapped to Bilbo as he continued the next line of the song. Not even a hummingbird flapped its wings as fast as the princes sprinted back to Bilbo while picking up the song again, singing with Bilbo “-NOT TO STROLL DOWN THAT BEACH!!!”
Bilbo remembered doing this same annoying prank on other poor hobbit adults when he and his friends were faunts. It only seemed appropriate to help the princes in their time of need.
The three of them sang the next verse together, Gandalf resumed his humming, Bilbo felt his face hurting with the smile he wore, as they continued walking past where Thorin had been frozen to the ground. Fili and Kili split from Bilbo opting to run in the grass fields singing the chorus of humms so that their uncle could not catch them. They were smiling, laughing, and shoving each other. Bilbo also gave Thorin a wide berth, even though he stopped singing.
Thorin’s head and body swiveled to track his hobbit. “Why?” Bilbo turned to walk backward to answer the Dwarf. He shrugged his shoulders, “Because I wanted your attention.” He completed his turn and walked forward listening to the princes continue the chorus. He could hear Thorin sigh and start moving again.
“There are better ways to get it, Amralime”
“...and I felt like annoying you,” Bilbo quipped back
Thorin huffed. He was now right next to Bilbo. He leaned over slightly to speak into his One’s ear as he passed, “I shall fix that tonight.”
Bilbo’s stride faltered, and he all but almost tripped. “T-Th-Thorin -now, wait, W-wait a second…” But Bilbo didn’t know how to finish the sentence. He simply felt the blush on his face became worse and worse as they continued walking.
“I think ye broke yer hobbit” Dwalin had fallen back to his King and chided Thorin with a smile.
“Good.” Poor Bilbo simply blushed harder at his dwarf’s response.
Fili and Kili were now flipping and cartwheeling over trees that had fallen, picking each other up and bowling through the company, “Run run run jump I can be a backpack while you run……”
Maybe everything would be alright. Maybe they would make it. Maybe the princes would rule Erebor one day.
some things never change (turn around and the time has flown)
Read here on AO3!
Summary: Bilbo was stunned. They had, somehow, gotten through a council meeting without anything going wrong. And what was even more shocking was that Fíli and Kíli had been the ones leading it.
(Fíli and Kíli come into their own as princes a few years post-BOTFA. Bilbo and Thorin are, as expected, very proud.)
Notes: I’ve never posted drabbles before, but I have so many short scenes rustling around in my head that I decided it’s time to change that! Anyways, time to continue my BOTFA denial yet again LOL.
