Batman #467 Late August 1991 Shadow Box Part One
What was the point and purpose in standing like this, Tim? It's the most awkward stance ever.
Tim's progress is pleasing to Bruce.
Robin also does the disappearing act.
Look a Tim, standing there cracking his knuckles, looking all pleased with himself.
It's Robin's job to turn off the lights before Batman comes busting in.
King Snake is a creepy creep.
Short sleeve shirts over long sleeve shirts. I really want an Alfred made sammich right now. I bet they're delicious.
King Snake really has it out for Robin. (This comes before Robin III btw.) I would love to know where they got the Robin costume.

I know there’s lots of Drama in the snake community right now about people in denial over ball pythons being semi-arboreal/needing space to climb, and I’m glad at least that more people are finally starting to give their ball pythons the room they need in the dimensions they need it
But there still seems to be a really common misconception that most common colubrids don’t climb?? And that’s baffling to me because I’ve yet to meet a colubrid, captive or wild, who won’t start climbing things when they’re comfortable.
In the wild I’ve frequently found garter snakes and gopher snakes at or above my head, plus the only time I’ve seen a snake hunt and eat in the wild it was a good 4 feet off the ground. My corn snake had a 24” tall enclosure and would only sleep in his raised hide, and my 10 month old king snake has started to sleep exclusively on raised branches now too. He spends just as much time in the high parts of his enclosure as on the bottom and he only burrows when in shed. Every colubrid I’ve met that was in someone else’s care also immediately climbs whatever they can when given the chance.
Unhappy and scared colubrids tend to prefer to hide underground rather than climbing over things, but that also means that giving them the option of heigh is a good metric for their well-being. A healthy and happy colubrid is probably going to use that height all the time (I say probably because adults who aren’t used to height may not choose it, I haven’t experienced adults who were never given the option tho).
I know my snake is feeling good when he’s going all over his enclosure on every height level, sleeping in the branches, playing in his hammock, etc. If I suddenly only see him moving around on the bottom then I know that I need to give him a check and make sure he’s not injured or ill, because I know that something is stopping him from using the height I’ve given him. It might just be shedding but it could also be a serious health problem.
Enrichment is about encouraging natural behaviors, and I happen to have the good fortune to have witnessed lots of snakes in nature, going about their business. From everything I’ve seen of colubrids in the wild they need lots of floor space, soil depth, AND a decent amount of climbing space.

Apparently my family wasn’t aware that Lucifer is my pet king snake which explains the horrified look my sister gave when I asked if she wanted to meet him

Batfam fancast part 6: Martial Arts Masters
Into the deep end we meet the masters that bring challenge to the bat family in the realm of combat .King Snake, Shrike, Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger, and Ghostmaker.
King Snake, believed to be Bane's father and Tim Drake's first real challenge . The blind master is casted with the best in mind. You let Scott Adkins use his natural voice and some good direction, he becomes a actor with much more depth. His martial arts skills alone make him perfect for this role.
Shrike a skilled assassin that fought Nightwing. This bird themed villians screams Phillip ng to me. Trained since he was a kid,his moves are as skilled as his acting. The villian might be a B-rate but add some spice to his story and he is golden.
Richard Dragon the legendary martial artist teaching the likes of Huntress and Nightwing, and bringing confidence of combat back in Barbara Gordon . Andy On is the perfect Richard. Trained both formally in a Shaolin Temple for his first movie. And later trained with the Jackie Chan stunt team he is perfect.
The villain ally combo Bronze Tiger still only has one actor that fits him. MJW. Micheal Jai White is a amazing actor and martial artist. His filmography says it all and his stance alone says he is a master.
Finally we reached Ghost-maker. The newest character in the batfamily his story is that of being batman's oldest rival. Fighting him ever since he started traveling to learn from the best martial artists. Near his age and just as suave. He is essentially himbo Batman. Byron Mann is the most eligible for this young character. Charismatic, a skilled martial artist and a filmograpathy as large as Brad Pitts. His recent character in Wu Assassins shows it all.He is an ideal rival to the Dark Knight.

This little cutie found her way into our building at work today. She was very patient for photos and a brief meet and greet with our coworkers before she was relocated outside at the far end of the property.

🐍Say hello to the newest member of THF Author’s reptile family, Ferentus!! 🐍
I took in this lil guy because his owner couldn’t keep him anymore. Just getting him checked over (he seems clear of mites, an RI, stuck shed, etc) and now he’s getting settled in to his new home! He’s alert, curious, and my second male snake (I've got three girls and two males now, and the other male snake I have is definitely gay so I’LL UPDATE YALL ON THE TEA).
He is an adult Florida king snake, and he's a very healthy weight; I’m just so excited to have hm: ESPECIALLY on my birthday!!! 😃
He says hello to the THF readers and can’t wait to explore his new forever home! 🥰🐍🥰🐍

I really love living here. I’m so close to an open space that I get to see all kinds of cool native wildlife in my back yard.
Last week it was a really large alligator lizard, this week it’s a beautiful Cal King.
