An excerpt from the documentary Deep Roots Music explaining Dub music. A brief intro about King Tubby. Then it shows the making of a track called Jailhouse Rock. With Prince Jammy at the controls Bunny Lee and the Scientist and what I suspect is a bunch of people who just wanted to be on camera.

Tonight’s random record shelf pull…
Michael Campbell aka Mikey Dread “Barber Saloon”
Yet another artist I found through The Clash. He’s the guy that produced their“Bankrobber” single and appeared on the “Sandinista” album and some b-sides. This has a different mix than the more common album version.
A nice but somewhat tame, at least by King Tubby standards, dub on the b-side. I’ve never been much of a fan of singles. Their a pain in the ass to flip through at stores and I’m not a fan of having to get after three minutes to flip the record. But I’m finding they’re fun to buy online and that reggae singles of a certain vintage have some pretty fun dub b-sides.
