Personality: In and out of the line of duty, Kitain is an easygoing man, but while willing to let loose, duty still comes first, making him a dedicated and loyal individual.

However, he still have a temper but even then, its not easy to get under his skin.

His casual demeanor oft throw people out of the loop, thinking he can't do much but Kitain is a skilled warrior, all while possessing a Pyro Vision.

He's not big on formalities but there were exceptions (Makoto, Ei, their other friends). Though, he, himself, was held in high regard by fellow warriors/soldiers, Kitain has a no boasting attitude.

Essentially died by the time of Orobashi's Death, when the Archon War ended 2000+ years ago. Before dying, he made what is now known as the Kitain Cross Spear if to honor his death, all while creating the Kitain Martials School that still stands at present.

He carried that spear in fighting off the Tatarigami but eventually got overwhelmed like many others Yashiori Guardians, sacrificing himself for his nation.

However, due to his body being never found, there is no telling of how he did die, if he has at all. In truth, the very weapon he smithed, saved his life, causing Kitain to become one with that spear. All that was found, was said weapon and it was preserved in the Shogun's armory since then.

While many have crafted the Kitain Cross Spear, over the years, the original one is, again, in the armory of Tenshukaku, likely left to rot given it was around Orobashi's remains for who knows how long before being found.

There are times he would actually exit the weapon, zoning out and fondly looking at what he carried into battles.

One of these days, he hopes to get back to fighting for Inazuma.

He still carries his Pyro Vision, given he's not that entirely dead because of what the spear did. His situation is similar to that of Mahakanta's.

Laetitia Sadier & Radio Outernational Live Show Review: 3/12, Empty Bottle, Chicago

Laetitia Sadier's set Tuesday night at Empty Bottle was a mix of idealism, determination, and empathy. Such a combination exemplifies the connotation of the very title of her first solo album in 7 years, Rooting For Love (Drag City). Like her work with Stereolab, Rooting For Love employs a wide array of instrumentation--guitar, bass, synth, organ, trombone, vibraphone, live and programmed drums, zither, vocals--to present songs that are simple-sounding in execution, but deceptively complex. For every foray into lounge funk, there's an off-kilter psychedelic freak-out; in combination with Sadier's spirituality and collectivism, it makes for an album that you can deeply explore as much as you can vibe to.

Tuesday, Sadier, on stage alone, pointed to her synthesizer and joked, "This is the band...It's the same every night." In a way, playing to recordings and samples seems to occupy its own, different level of difficulty, as you can't as easily improvise your way out of messing up. Thankfully, Sadier not only nailed it, but employed a looper and processed her scraggly guitar playing to build up and tear down her compositions, adding unexpected chaos for those in the crowd who had voraciously consumed the new record. "Protéïformunité" featured washy noise and a drum beat, Sadier immersing herself in the music to the point of dancing, as she sang mantras like "L’objectif est de limoger l’ignorance, d’interrompre le cycle sans fin de la souffrance,” or, "The goal is to remove ignorance, to interrupt the endless cycle of suffering." Again, as with Stereolab, Sadier showed that visionary ideas can sound, simply, pleasant.

Of course, while you wouldn't describe Sadier as a realist, she's also certainly unafraid to confront, and Tuesday, she performed the two most provocative tracks from Rooting For Love. "Don't Forget You're Mine", co-written with Veronique Vincent (of Belgian avant-rock band Aksak Maboul), tells the story of an academic couple whose more-successful husband is threatened by his wife's sudden success to the point where he torments her with psychological and physical abuse. It was here where Sadier warped her beatific guitar playing into something more fuzzy, as if to emphasize the skin-crawling nature of what she was singing about, contrasting the lovely timbre of her voice. On the studio version, she repeats, from the point of view of the abuser, "Get up, babe!" over siren-like instrumentation, like a plea to society to eliminate internal and external toxicity. "Cloud 6", meanwhile, started with chopping and screwing her operatic vocals, her trombone pulsating on the off-beat of the arpeggiated synth line, before turning more clear. Sadier waxed about how the process of fear encapsulates a wholesale turning away from humanity; "How can you be seen and known and loved when you have your armor on," she asked? The song ended with her most frank declaration: "This armor is keeping you from the gifts I've given you / I'm not fucking around / You're halfway dead." In the context of not only Sadier's songs that decry capitalism and war, but the world today in general, "Cloud 6" was a call to wake up.

Radio Outernational's Aaron Shapiro, Kenthaney Redmond, Hunter Diamond, & Wayne Montana

Opening for Sadier was local quintet Radio Outernational, who features three current members of funk-punk heroes The Eternals. While Radio Outernational haven't released any recorded music, they've been playing around town since last year, clear in their chemistry. Flutist and saxophonist Hunter Diamond and flutist Kenthaney Redmond effectively harmonized, one often trailing the other, especially on the songs that employed dual flute. Guitarist Aaron Shapiro offered funky licks rife with swirling wah wahs and prickly stabs. The rhythm section, bassist Wayne Montana and drummer Areif Sless-Kitain, propelled the slinky tunes, providing a bed for the other three players to flourish. Radio Outernational was a wholly appropriate opener for Sadier, as it was almost like they were the physical manifestation of the type of cosmic cooperation she sings and dreams about.

Saitama is Tokyo's neighbor to the north. Much of southeastern Saitama is considered a suburb of Tokyo, but the western parts are mostly rural with mountainous forested areas, and include a castle town and the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. Saitama has historically been a fertile agricultural region and is currently the major food supplier for the metropolitan area of Greater Tokyo. Some of the first currency in Japan came from copper discovered in the Chichibu area in the 8th century. Saitama's central location has made it a historical hub for transportation to all parts of Eastern Japan, and the modern radial roads and railroad system are designed for ease of transportation to all parts of Japan. Saitama is also the backdrop to the famous Miyazaki Hayao (Studio Ghibli) film "My Neighbor Totoro."

The Edo-period castle town of Kawagoe is also known as Ko-edo (小江戸 or "Little Edo") because of its many traditional buildings dating from the Edo period. The streets have been maintained as-is since the Edo period (1603-1867). The weekends are the most popular times for visitors to gather here and experience the atmosphere, shops, and popular seasonal events. In the third week of October, the Kawagoe Festival is held with a parade of traditional ornate floats and a musical competition.

The Warehouse District is lined with old earthen storehouses, which are unique two-story buildings that have remained unchanged since the days when the city was a major transportation and commerce hub for Eastern Japan. The Toki no Kane, or "Bell of Time," has marked time for the town for centuries, and continues to ring four times daily. Candy Street is a street lined with stores where traditional Japanese sweets are made in the old-fashioned way.

For more recent history, the Taisho-Roman Street has old, retro western-style buildings from the Taisho and Showa areas. There are also no overhead power lines, which makes this a popular spot to shoot many Japanese period films set in these eras.

There are severable notable temples and shrines in Kawagoe, especially Kitain Temple, which was built over 1,000 years ago. This temple has 538 stone statues of Buddha, each with its own face and unique posture. No two statues look alike, and the popular belief is that there is a statue to resemble any visitor to the temple. Kawagoe Hikawa-jinja Shrine is a Shinto shrine dating back to the 6th century that boasts a torii shrine gate that is 15 metres tall. Kawagoe Kumano-jinja Shrine has fortunes, lucky charms, and also boasts the "stepping health road," which is a path to walk barefoot to stimulate the acupuncture points on the soles of your feet for health benefits.

Famous in the Chichibu region of Saitama, miso potatoes are a well-known winter treat in the area. This dish is similar to a baked potato covered in sweet miso sauce and is traditionally from the rural areas in the mountainous part of the prefecture. It is now a popular street stall snack that combines the sweet and savoury miso flavours with the earthy baked potato texture.

Reunited with my JHS bestie after ko siyang hindi mapansin sa messenger for ilang weeks kase dun sya nagmemessage sa account na di ko na naoopen. Ahahahaha.

~ Tinry namin kumain sa dookki kase wala kaming makitang samgyup place sa pinuntahan namin. Okay naman na na-try ko sya pero di na ako uulit, i think. Okay yung hotpot (??) pero yun lang yon. Yung iba nilang food like chicken ganun di ko masyadong bet.

~ Pinasunod namin yung jowa niya kase pagod na kami mag-babysit saka gusto namin i-try yung lifefourcuts kaso nagwawala ang bebi kapag tinatry namin siya isama. Nakapagpicture kami pero super nakakapanic pala sa loob kase kahit 10 seconds per picture parang di pa rin enough? Ahahahahaha. Saka may props pa kasi anlala photobooth sa debut realness level ng panic, ganun. Saka first time talaga namin magkaroon ng picture na ganyan kasi pareho kaming hindi mapicture masyado. Ewan ko rin.

A few headcanons for Hetalia Scotland:

Is Alisdair a canon name? If it’s not, idc. It’s a good one 👍 If all the brothers are Kirkland then I like to think it was Scot’s surname first. England (and Wales by extension) took it when the Scottish James I became king of England and so formed the United Kingdom. That all his little(?) brothers took his name is definitely a feather in Scot’s cap.

No one knows if he or Wales is the oldest brother, including Scotland and Wales themselves. The first time they happened to cross paths during their wandering around Great Britain, they each saw another boy who looked the same age. Scotland insists he is the elder brother, Wales disagrees but more quietly.

Scotland has a favourite city out of Glasgow and Edinburgh. But he’s not going to start a civil war in his country by telling anyone which it is! (Psst, it’s Glasgow)

The Auld Alliance was a fiery, passionate affair between Scotland and France. The kind that was pure, mutual lust at first sight and got physical very quickly. Like, “we just met for the first time while our bosses hammer out details and now we’re banging against the wall in the antechamber” quickly. Sexy, sophisticated, continental France vs. wilder, rougher Scotland was just what the doctor ordered for both of them. Unfortunately, it didn’t really last. That kind of white hot, burning hunger never does. It didn’t help that a significant chunk of the non-physical part of their bond was built on their mutual hatred of England. You can’t build a long term love on something like that. Once Scotland’s relationship with his little brother started to improve, his affair with France simultaneously cooled. These days they’re better off as friends. Scot recalls their relationship more fondly and feels more wistful than France does.

And yes, that Scotland was eventually replaced by England as France’s soulmate does make his complicated feelings towards England even more strained. Thank ye for asking *Sound of Scottie teeth grinding*

Scotland holds his liquor best out of all his brothers and can drink most of Europe under the table. Only true heavyweights like Russia and the Balkans give him a run for his money

Like all the UK bros, Scotland has magic and can see magical creatures. Vistors to his country are often surprised to learn that Scot’s favourite isn’t the famous Nessie (though he is very fond of her) but rather his herd of unicorns. Hunted nearly to extinction in the rest of the UK, the unicorn’s last stronghold is up in Scotland. During one of their many wars, England slew Scotland’s oldest and most beloved unicorn (“The Lion and the Unicorn were fighting for the crown…”) and took its alicorn back to London. Even after the unification and a regretful England returning it, Scotland is still bitter.

Yes, Scotland does play the bagpipes. Yes, he’s very good at it. When he plays and Wales sings, it’s really something to behold…er, listen to

What’s Scotland’s least favourite thing about his home? The rain? The cold? No, you fool! The midges. Dear GOD the midges. Eat you alive in summer they will!

Scotland’s cooking makes the rest of his brothers look almost competent by comparison. He has the dubious honour of making both some of the most unappetising food (haggis!) and also the most unhealthy. Everything battered, deep fried, and washed down with fifty cans of drink so stiff with sugar it would make America blush. What’s not to love? Diabetes. Diabetes is not to love. Scot’s bosses have been on a health kick lately but their nation is as stubborn as any of the UK bros and it’s not easy persuading him to change his ways

Scotland wears his kilt like a true Scot: nothing below and god help ye if there’s a headwind 🍆

Kitain (Britain cat) was born in Scotland but doesn’t like spending much time there because of the climate. He still comes to visit Scotland in the summer, though. His favourite place to sleep is on Scotland’s feet. Keeping his toes warm like a living heater

Scotland is very proud that he was able to hold off Grandpa Rome and stop the Romans ever getting a real foothold on his turf. Though that pride is complicated by feelings of guilt that he couldn’t protect his little brothers. Even if they were enemies at the time, it still chafes Scot that part of their isle was occupied for hundreds of years. Seeing England and, to a lesser extent, Wales under Grandpa Rome’s boot and watching them be Romanised was painful

And yes, let’s talk about that elephant lion in the room: England. England, England, England. The golden child of the UK bros that Scotland can’t get away from or ignore no matter how hard he tries. To say Scot’s feelings towards his baby bro are complicated is an understatement. He’s so proud of what they achieved together, but wishes he could claim more of the credit. He feels guilt for not driving the Romans out of Britain, but a small, hateful part still gloats that only he could stop the invaders in their tracks. He’s glad they’re on better terms these days, but resents that the unification has eclipsed him so much in the eyes of the world. He knows in his heart of hearts that his relationship with France was never meant to last, but seeing France with England hurts him even so. Scotland was the older brother, not England.
