Our conspiracy theory originated from an interview Sam and Caitríona gave to Kristin Dos Santos in January 2016.

If we didn't believe in conspiracy theories, we'd be rooting for Sam to obsessively seduce another blonde whose interests don't extend beyond the gym and parties.

If we believed in what we were told rather than what we saw, we would (virtually) wish Caitríona a happy wedding anniversary every 10th of August.

But the conspiracy is not lurking in every corner.

On Friday evening, I posted a note here saying how much I enjoyed the sweet, meaningful message in an IG Story that Sam had just shared. The Elf on the Shelf, this year's advertiser for Sassenach Spirits, had an elf baby in her arms. *** *** *** What a strange coincidence for a childless bachelor in his 40s. A children's book hero in a spirits advert. A baby in the arms of the dark-haired hero of a children's Christmas story.

I have looked at The Elf on the Shelf (which is not part of my cultural heritage). And well, it's a REALLY REAL children's book character. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

The fact that Sassenach Spirits decided to use The Elf on the Shelf in this year's Christmas campaign is something I REALLY can't get out of my head.

Well, if anyone 'added the Elf', it was 'someone' in the advertising department of Sassenach Spirits. Maybe that person was inspired by 'someone else' (I'm sure), but let's leave that question aside.

I’ve been here on tumblr following all things Outlander since the first Paley panel with Kristin dos Santos…you know when it was fun to giggle and squee about how we thought Sam and Caitríona had to be together and rewatching season one (the wedding ep 😉) on repeat. But somehow the emphasis here has changed and bloggers seem to be obsessed with giving air to the negativity of “the other side”. Why? I know there’s really no new news to giggle and squee about but is it necessary to dredge up past events and make it about how awful they are? We’ve known that from day one. There’s no need to remind us. So maybe this is a farewell post. A goodbye to the tumblr that once was. I’ll stay for the one or two (or three) bloggers I still enjoy reading and DM with but don’t be offended if I unfollow you. It was fun…once.

The day after the Upfronts, E! News shares an interview with Gillian. Host Kristin Dos Santos jokingly asks Gillian who she'll be playing in the revival: Mulder or Scully. Gillian decides to play along and says "Mulder" and that David has agreed to shave a foot off his height so she can be taller than him.

Then she gets a bit feral...

PART 2 -  Swindlin' Santos Strikes Again: Arrested, Indicted, Denies Allegations, Still Running for Re-election, Headed Back to Work (yikes), Another Day at Office

Justice is Swift–(and by “Swift”, we mean 10-20 Years Too Late for Most of His Victims)

Although much too late, especially for those he scammed throughout the entire 2010s decade, The U.S. Justice Department finally arrested George Santos, and it's only taken a few years. I mean, who needs efficiency when you can have old-fashioned bureaucratic red tape, am I right? The Nassau County DA was thrilled to share that this was a "well-run investigation," and they actually uncovered more inconsistencies than they thought possible. Wow, what a surprise. Next thing you know, they're going to tell us water is wet. But sleep easy folks, he’s still headed back to work ASAP. Who needs telework when the U.S. Congress has quite the comfy "crime-work" program? Like taking candy from babies, HUH dawg?

Santos' day in court is long overdue - he’s been a CONFIRMED criminal since 2010.

Denying the Obvious

And just when we thought there couldn't possibly be any more twists to this story, Santos shockingly shouts not guilty to this indictment of charges. He even has the sheer audacity to run for re-election. But hey, why not? I'm sure his constituents adore the idea of having a representative who is only in it for themselves. Actually, they don’t. As of January (yeah, January BEFORE all this indictment business) 71% of his Republican voters, 72% of Independents, and 89% of Democrats want the Swindlin' Santos to skulk form Congress, STAT!

The most competent people so far in this entire fiasco-- District 3 voters call for Santos to resign.

Returning to Work Despite Charges

But wait, there's more! Not only does he plan on running for re-election, but he also still gets to vote on what he calls "one of the most consequential votes in this Congress" – the border bill. Because who needs to take a break from defending their innocence so they can sexually harass at work, right? And to top it off, he denies the allegations of fraudulently applying for Covid-related unemployment benefits. I mean, if you can't trust a politician's blind denial, who can you trust?

Even right-wing Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene doesn’t seem too happy with this Fake Trump Supporter (a fake supporter according to Kristin Bianco–a Republican donor and strong Trump loyalist).

But no worries, Santos still has some supporters, including the ever-loveable House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who is standing by his man (because apparently, standing by someone indicted for 13 federal charges is the “Honorable” thing to do. Congressmen are introduced as “The Honorable…”--did you know that?) And President Biden, well, he's smart enough (for now) to stay out of the drama and let the system do its thing (but we all know that won't stop people from accusing him of secretly manipulating the Justice Department).

Speaker McCarthy won’t support Santos’ re-election, but Santos has ample time to… (insert your country here)

Conclusion

Nothing to see here folks. It's just another day in the world of politics, where sarcasm is king and the ultimate joke's on the constituents. From the slow-moving justice system to the actions (or lack thereof) of politicians, it's hard to tell what's more of a punchline. But hey, at least we can all have a good laugh about it, right? Well, maybe not those living in district three, but the rest of us can enjoy the spectacle from afar. But for how long until we are ALL swindled by Santos?

Seriously, I love this ask so much. I was telling my GC that it’s asks like these that make me not regret keeping my inbox open, so thanks for that 😄

But also. This was a difficult question LOL. There are just so many little moments that I love and that I think show their Goobery Love™ so it’s hard to pinpoint just 5 for each. But hopefully you enjoy these moments I did pick and that it satisfies your cute moments craving! I know it certainly did mine 😊

5 Caitriona Moments (numbered, but not ranked)

1) The Look of Adoration. I’ve said before that this Fresno Bee vid is one of the very first ones I watched of them and it’s also the one that gave me pause because of the heart eyes Caitriona Mary Balfe is throwing at Sam Roland Heughan. Just look at that. She always listens to him so intently and with so much clear adoration and even after 6 years together and many of the same things said over and over again she’s still as invested in what he says as she has been from the beginning. 

2) The Origin Story. Whenever Caitriona talks about their chemistry test, she always emphasizes how good Sam made her feel and how instantaneously comfortable she felt with him. That connection and bond is so very evident when you watch the test video. This SAG interview always was very telling to me and has stuck in my mind for years since:

“I walked in and Sam was just this calm center in the room and there was zero posturing and zero ego. And I remember we just immediately started chatting about Scotland and I had friends who lived there. It was just like an old friend… I think we have a similar approach to life and we have a similar approach to acting. It just works… Sometimes you just get lucky. Sometimes the stars align.”

3) The Look of Pride. ECCC 2017 was a GEM. There were so many absolutely fantastic moments and it was just so much fun for everyone, both attending and at home watching. Honestly, I think it might be one of the best Cons they’ve done. But the one moment that makes this list is when Sam was asked about MPC and he began describing what the program has accomplished thus far. She looked so incredibly proud of all of it and so ridiculously proud of that man, just as the President and Founder of the SRH Fan Club always is.

4) Cheer Squad. This is one of my favorite SamCait photos and moments of all time. The fact that Caitriona just sat outside with a homemade sign around her neck waiting for Sam to pass by during his LA Marathon run makes me emo, y’all. And I think it’s even more telling that she later tried to brush it off as her just rolling out of bed and going outside to greet him. The only part of that story I believe is the croissant LOL xD I’ll throw every single one my pennies to the person who can get me a pic of her sign that day!

5) The Good One. “He’s a good man.” “He’s perfect.” “I admire Sam’s big heart.” For as much teasing as she does (they both do, really) there’s endless amounts of praise and compliments she has about this man. There is no one who has more confidence, more faith, or more support for him than she does. But of course, gotta take the piss outta him to keep him grounded 😂💜

5 Sam Moments (numbered, but not ranked)

1) “To dress Caitriona is not difficult, she looks great in virtually everything.” I love the fact that he said this, but I love even more the proof of his believe in this statement even more! We see this all the time, from BAFTA last year to the Season 1 premiere to this Golden Globe moments, which is another favorite SamCait pic for me. To make an internationally successful, highly sought after model look as if this is the first person to every pay her a compliment? HEART. EYES.

2) FvF’s Freelance Marketer. Who needs a PR department when you have Sam plugging FvF basically any chance he can get?? Not just all the likes and RTs, and comments, but the fact that he took the opportunity to talk about FvF when he was asked unrelated questions about himself. His pride in that woman shines through every single time.

3) Best Dressed. If Caitriona’s chemistry test story always features her “calm center” impression, then Sam’s always features Caitriona’s dress. What an impression she must have made on him walking in and blowing them all away if he remembers the plaid dress she was wearing that day! Magic, literally right from the very first second.

4) Home Away From Home. I just found this comment so sincere and sweet. Caitriona has often talked about being like a vagabond, mostly living out of her suitcase when she was modelling and then when she first started Outlander with very little notice. 5) Laughter is the Best Medicine. If ECCC was their best Con, then this FB Q+A might be their best interview ever 😂😂😂 I only meant to watch this one part so I could make this GIF, but ended up watching all 15 minutes instead LOL. Anyway. This moment has always been on of my favorite parts of the entire Q+A. Not only is Caitriona ADORABLE here, but Sam being so concerned over something so small is just touching to see! He basically checks with her 4 times to make sure she’s alright. But at the same time, he obviously is doing what he loves doing best: making sure she stays laughing! The fact that he loves seeing her smile, hearing her laugh, and making sure she’s doing both as often as he can is my favorite thing about him. Periodt.

This was the first TCA we saw outlander attend. They were so fun and fresh. It was TCA 2015. I even had a friend in attendance and got a few questions in through him!
