So my mom refuses to call me by my preferred name n pro nouns would it be shitty if i called her by her birth name? (long story short her parents named her Edgar insted of Kristin officially 2 hide from her fathers ex wife or somin so yeah)

i think that it wouldnt make her call you your preferred name and pronouns and just cause strife, unfortunately ): i think POSSIBLY if you sit her down and you're like "please do this, it makes me feel better to be referred to this way" she might be more receptive, but sometimes family just aren't our biggest supporters unfortunately, ive accepted my mom will never willingly call me hal and so i seek support and validation from people outside of my family, its easier when you've grieved the oss of the idea of support or never had it in the first place
