Masculinity does not belong to the patriarchy.
Masculinity can be as queer and as subversive as femininity, and I don't just mean when it's worn by cis women.
Masculine queer MEN are GOOD, too.
Doesn't matter if that man is bi or gay or trans or nonbinary or any other queer variation you can think of. His masculinity is still good.
And of course this includes masculine queer women, because let's be honest, some of you who claim you support butches are still fucking abnormal about masculinity even when it's a woman performing it, especially if she's "too masc" for your tastes.
And this includes people who are nonbinary or genderqueer or agender. They don't owe you neutrality in their grender presentation. They can be the hairiest, fattest, most masculine butch person you've ever seen, and they're still nonbinary.

Shoutout to my fellow aroflux peeps
Tumblr media
Who are in romantic relationships.
Who don't know how to explain that they can't always love their partner(s).
Who are romance-repulsed some days and super touchy-feely others.
Who constantly question if they really know what love is.
Who feel like they don't fit in anywhere in the community.
Who are also aceflux or asexual.
Who are allosexual.
Who think something must be wrong with them.
Who are scared to enter relationships because of their identity.
Who just aren't represented.

You're all valid. There's nothing wrong with you. ❤

The first day of school for students enrolled in the new Queer Blended Learning Center (QBLC) is August 1st.
“Frankly, 6th, 7th and 8th grades were some of the hardest years for me. I changed schools every single school year,” said Nate Rhoton, the CEO of One-N-Ten. “Today, if I were in junior high, I would love to live my full, authentic self.”
One-N-Ten is an advocacy group for LGBTQ+ youth. Its youth center is located in Downtown Phoenix, which is where QBLC will have its classrooms for students in the 6th through 8th grades. Students do not have to identify as LGBTQ youth to enroll.
The curriculum is built by the Spark Community Schools, with LGBTQ subjects being highlighted. “Specifically, culturally responsive curriculum in Civics LGBTQ history, just making sure we’re telling stories from every perspective and point of view,” said Katrina Thurman, the President of Spark Community Schools.
She explained traditional subjects like science, math and reading will be covered. “At the end of the day, we end with project-based learning, which is something that has been proven to take what you learned in those core subjects and really make it relevant,” she said.
QBLC is a micro-school, meaning it could have a 1 to 12 teacher-student ratio. However, Thurman said there are currently eight students enrolled. There is only one teacher, but there are plans to add a second teacher and one classroom aide. Thurman also mentioned parents can tap into the state’s universal voucher program to cover tuition.
“Our tuition is what that voucher amount is. It is available to any parent. It is not above that. There should be no out-of-pocket costs to the family,” she said.
The school calendar will be August 1 and go to May 23, 2024, with traditional breaks in between. Students can enroll at any time of the school year. To learn how, click here.

This should really go without saying, but I want to be 100% clear on this point: This blog supports LBGTQIA+ rights, is LGBTQIA+ safe, and is part of the LBGTQIA+ community.
If that's a problem for you or if you are not an ally/part of the community, please feel aggressively encouraged to unfollow. And, for the record, I am more than happy to make liberal use of the block button if anyone proves to be a problem.

I was looking for some cute Pride books, went to the kids section, and found this:
Tumblr media
A collection of stories that while LGBTQIA+ are more subtle, and not all focused on the theme. I loved all of the stories and a few of them I wished had more to them, but still amazing!
I should check out the kids section during Pride Month more often.
Also I can't figure how to tag this post...

It's raining here and I again envision you right there in my arms, us sleeping in together, perhaps, spending the entire day in bed since it's the weekend anyway and we have no places to be.
And why would we?
Here, in our bed together, our bodies thoroughly entwined, your face pressed against my chest, we are safe and sound, shielded from the world, away from space and time, in our little personal bubble, our own world that only the two of us truly understand.

Kansas City, Missouri is now a “sanctuary city” for trans people following a 12-1 vote by the Kansas City Council to declare itself one. The move comes in response to the state’s Republican-led legislature passing two bills aimed at limiting the rights of transgender Missourians.
As the Associated Press reports, on Wednesday, Republican lawmakers sent two bills to Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R). One would ban gender-affirming healthcare like puberty blockers and hormone therapy for trans youth as well as some adults. The other bans trans athletes from participating in girls’ and women’s sports at all grade levels and in college at both private and public schools. Parson is expected to sign both bills.
In response, the Kansas City Council on Thursday voted 12 to 1 to approve a resolution to declare the city a sanctuary for people seeking or providing gender-affirming care. As a result, city officials will not prosecute or fine individuals or organizations under the state’s new anti-trans laws. City staff are also instructed to make enforcing the ban on gender-affirming care “their lowest priority.” The Kansas City Police Department has also been encouraged to adopt a similar policy, The Los Angeles Blade reports.
“Kansas City government is committed to ensuring Kansas City is a welcoming, inclusive, and safe place for everyone, including our transgender and LGBTQ+ community. After the Missouri state legislature introduced several bills criminalizing access to gender-affirming healthcare across Missouri, I am proud City Council took action and approved the ‘safe haven’ resolution to take steps, within our legal power, to protect our transgender community and anyone seeking gender-affirming care,” Mayor Quinton Lucas (D) said. “For decades, Kansas City has been at the forefront of our region, ensuring we have equality for all, and we will continue to do everything in our power to fight for equal rights for all in our city, no matter what happens at our state capitol.”
Councilwoman Andrea Bough, the resolution’s sponsor, said that the measure was a reiteration of Kansas City’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
“As a woman and a mother, I strongly feel that personal health care decisions should be reserved for individuals, families, and their physicians without influence from politicians,” Bough said. “Public service should be about helping the community not harming individuals. Today we are proclaiming to our transgender and LGBTQ community that you are safe with us.”
The city’s LGBTQ Commission previously sent a letter to city council members urging them to pass legislation to make Kansas City a “safe haven” for transgender people, following an “emergency regulation” issued by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R) in April to severely restrict access to gender-affirming healthcare in the state.
The rule would require both minors and adults in Missouri to receive 15 hourly sessions with a therapist over at least 18 months before receiving gender-affirming care such as hormone therapy or puberty blockers. They would also have to be screened for autism and “social media addiction,” and any mental health issues would have to be treated and resolved before they would be eligible for treatment for gender dysphoria.
Critics described the move as a “power grab” by Bailey, who is campaigning for reelection. A Missouri judge temporarily blocked the rule late last month.

Hey, for everyone saying xenogenders are chronically online: Today in psych class we talked about gender dysphoria and I got to illustrate my view of gender graphically. It looked like a venn diagram with four heavily overlapping circles - one of them was xenogender.
My class was ENTIRELY receptive to it. This receptiveness included a straight, cis, white, christian male who had never heard of it before. And he was totally cool with it! We even took two minutes going on about what our gender would be if we described it in xenic terms. My teacher said he'd be the point of a mountain that intersects with clouds in the sky. Another said a ball of lint. I said the ocean. Not one of us said it was "impossible" or "cringe" or any of that xenogender-phobic shit.
If you're xenogender you're valid. The world, the real, offline world thinks so too. What's "chronically online" and "cringe" is being full of hate.
