Vanitas watches as Roxas unloads, his shoulders hanging loose at his sides in what seems to be nonchalance. It's impossible to tell what kind of expression he might be making behind that black void of a helmet. All it does is reflect Roxas's pain back at himself.

And boy, can Vanitas feel that pain. It's thousands of angry shards of glass, broken inward and piercing his own heart just as much as it cuts those who might try to touch him. It's almost interesting to Vanitas—how Roxas's expression can look so similar, but his emotions still feel so different.

Ventus's anger was bright; it was for his friends—it glowed with a righteous light that threatened to incinerate his enemies. Ventus was a forest fire that promised regrowth and renewal after the blaze. And Roxas was broken glass from a house of mirrors.

His lips curl up beneath his helmet. Vanitas leans forward, grasping Roxas's shoulder and leaning in close to the blond's ear.

"It revolts me that you think I care about this enough to be bothered in the first place, oh brother of mine." A small laugh leaves Vanitas after he speaks, as if his words had been a funny joke. After all, Vanitas also wears a face that doesn't belong to him.

Roxas is another one trapped in the tangled web that has spread from Sora's heart. Vanitas has been ensnared in it since the day he was born, since the day Sora filled in the space that Vanitas had been occupying.

"I don't care about Ventus's body. It's his heart, and yours is nothing like his."

I have been saying for so many seasons now that even if they never get Eddie out of the closet, there HAD to be a bi Buck storyline at some point. He is just so incredible queer-coded that it literally did not make sense to have them keep pretending he was straight. Fox was too cowardly.
